Semosh in Bromley

I’ve been coming here for a few years and it is one of my favourite places to eat in Petts Wood! The food is so tasty - the hummus is the best I’ve had and the chicken shish is well spiced and so moreish! You can tell this restaurant uses home cooked recipes which are simply delicious. The staff have always been extremely kind and attentive, including when I have come in to pick up a take away. Can’t wait to visit again tomorrow for the Mother’s Day set menu! :)

From the warm welcome we received on entering to the brandy at the end we had a brilliant night here. I should declare up front that Semosh is owned and run by the family of one of my friends, but the standard of the food and service enjoyed by everyone there that night was plain to see. The glass wall allowing you to see the food being prepared and cooked is a brilliant idea and I can’t wait to return.

A wonderful authentic Turkish restaurant. Great service and beautiful food. The Chicken Adana kebabs were delicious. I’ll definitely be returning!

Lovely Friday lunch at Semosh, food was delicious and portions generous - shared a falafel with houmous and bread and a mixed grill with side of freshly made chips. Vibe was lovely and relaxed, decor is lovely and service was excellent. Highly recommend for lunch and dinner.

Our happy place, this visit was wedding anniversary, amazing …food and atmosphere, top class service, really friendly staff. Last night was busy but time between courses was perfect, and the table is yours all night if you want. Cannot recommend this place enough. Dee is amazing and cannot do enough for all customers 10/10

Lovely new place. Very friendly service by people that obviously care about their restaurant. Food was very good, with amazing calamari, and other lovely dishes. Will sure come back and bring the kids next time as they will love it Coming here regularly now, with kids. A keeper.

Myself and wife Jo have visited 6-10 times in last 2 years. One of our “Happy places” food is amazing and good to see it cooked, great atmosphere and service and “Dee” is soo friendly and helpful. I usually take liver starter( I know people can be put off by liver) but this is exceptional, followed by lamb ribs, we don’t usually take sweet as usually full. With drinks I would call this good value. My wife’s nut allergy is not a problem. Recommend to all 9.9/10 excellent

I went here with a group of 7 girls for my friend Lisa's 40th birthday. The food was simply amazing! Fresh, clean and very filling but I still could have eaten more! 🙃 Dee ( one of the owners) was amazing too and our lovely waitress, very rude of me but I didn't ask her name as I always do but she was very polite and done a brilliant job. The chef, ( also one of the owners) well, I wanted to take him home but I think Dee would have something to say as that's her husband! The atmosphere was great too! Good music, not too loud and the restaurant is decorated very nicely and is very clean and I love that you can see your food being made, always a plus! They even came and sang and danced with us when we were singing Happy birthday! This will definitely be my go to place for Turkish food and especially for special occasion. Well done to all of you, you really made our brunch amazing and thank you for going above and beyond to make our day a special one! Dee 🥰

I really can not recommend Dee and the team enough. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. I had my hen party here for the bottomless brunch with 22 ladies and it was exceptional. The food, the service, the music, the atmosphere - everything was just perfect. They all work so hard and the food was of the highest standard as always. I would not hesitate to come back here for a meal or a brunch. Amazing.

Had a lovely time me and my mum for the bottomless brunch. Clean, good service,friendly staff. Worth it for something different locally. Couldn't fault the food. Compliments to the chef. Only thing I would say is I'd rather of paid more and had a mixed hot meze starter rather than one item

YOU SHOULDNT ALWAYS believe what you read- BUT in terms of the negative reviews for this place - you 100% should. The service is awful, the manager has zero customer service skills. And it’s seems like nothing has changed since September 2021! Where a diner posted a review- who was also appalled by the service highlights that after waiting 1 hour for their mains the manager says “this isn’t fast food” Fast forward almost 2 years and that’s what was said to me, after a 40 minute wait for mains. learn some new material please! Will not be ever returning. As takeaway this place was ok, as you have minimal interaction with the staff.

Had a meal with some ladies tonight and everything was absolutely delicious. Lovely, welcoming, relaxed service the food was all wonderful we had a really lovely evening - thanks to all at Semosh xx We will definitely be back!

By far the best restaurant in Petts Wood! We’ve been to a lot of Turkish restaurants in the past and Semosh is head and shoulders above any other. The food is always cooked fresh to order and is delicious! You’re always met by the most lovely friendly staff and Dee & Suley are the perfect hosts. Perfect for any occasion be it with friends, family or date night.

Absolutely amazing. Me and my girl friends were here to celebrate a birthday and were so pleased with the night, we were so thankful for the the brownie and birthday song at the end as it was amazing! The food was Lovely, the cocktails were perfect and it was an overall great atmosphere. Everyone was so helpful and we will definitely be back soon. Thank you to all the staff for an amazing night. We experienced a wonderful Semosh Bottomless Brunch last saturday to celebrate our daughters birthday. We were a very large party of nearly 40 people so quite a task for Dee and her team of staff! However they were amazing from start to finish; the drinks flowed and were continuously topped up with never an empty glass. Food and customer service was excellent. Thank you Semosh 😊🥂 I would highly recommend!

Highly recommend the bottomless brunch here. It’s fantastic. The food is so good and very fresh and Dee is just lovely. She made sure we were topped up and even came and had a chat with us before it got busy. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and every staff member we encountered offers such a high level of service. Our time finished at three but they let us stay and finish our last drink until at least 45 minutes after this. I will definitely be returning.

The best local restaurant in town! Each dish is made with so much love and care. The staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you. Even the take aways are top standard. Absolutely love Semosh and everything about it!!

The food is good meat was nice and tender as a nice flavours Wasn't asked by staff if things are ok and the only other problem was we sat opposite the door which was constantly being left open when people going in and out so keep getting a draught

Highly recommend Semosh. It’s a fantastic restaurant, beautiful interior with a great selection on the menu (food and drinks), delicious food, friendly staff and an excellent atmosphere. I have been a frequent customer since the restaurant opened - always a great time.

The waitress and the staff were very rude. I wanted to order a drink first as I had an interview and then order some food later depending on how long the interview would be, I was honest with her. She complained about staff opening the kitchen for me and complained that I didn’t order the food right away. This happened today at around 1pm and I was shocked, I had to get my bag and leave. I will never return there again, respect is number 1 in customer service and this was zero. She did not accept with me ordering the drink, although there was zero customers inside.

This is the only place to have fabulous homemade Turkish food anywhere! It’s fresh every time and the welcome from the lovely Dee and ( not forgetting her lovely husband on the grill!) her staff is second to none. You feel like part of the family when you’re eating there. You can see the food being cooked on the grill through the glass screen from anywhere in the restaurant it’s lovely, professional but with that touch that feels like a warm blanket around you !!! The food well I usually have the king prawns for starter which the sauce with them is out of this world ! Then I have chicken Shish I’ve never tasted chicken that is so tender and almost creamy dreamy !! The mixed dips with the bread is to die for ! I did try the liver last time and that was amazing too with beetroot to cleanse your palate ( which I didn’t know was a thing until this week!) Coban salad is yummy too! Had the sheftalia as well first time I’ve tried that, I should have known better at my age and had it before ! Just an incredible experience everytime delivery constant love and care to each and every customer that walks through their door. I’m immensely proud to have this restaurant local to me and as they should be to own it ! Go and try you’ll regret it if not !!!

Just had a lovely meal at Semosh for my sons birthday. It was our first time there,and certainly won't be our last. Chris,our waitress,was very courteous and attentive,and the advice she gave us about which dishes to choose was spot on. The food was extremely tasty,and there was lots of it. A lovely touch by the team singing happy birthday for my son and giving him some cake....a night he won't forget. Thank you.

This restaurant is one of the best in petts wood! Always the best welcome, fantastic service and amazing food! I have been many times and never been disappointed. If you haven’t tried it you must give it a go. Nothing is too much trouble, they will always do their utmost to accommodate your needs. This is a wonderful family run restaurant with delicious food at reasonable prices. We had the two person Meze deal which is wonderful - a choice of six starters, three cold and three hot and then too delicious mains

We had the misfortune to be seated next to a table of five who did nothing but moan all evening. I believe the three one-star reviews must have been from them because everyone else in the restaurant that evening was having a great time.The food is delicious, beautifully presented and the portion sizes on the generous size. I had salmon for my main course and couldn't finish it all. Perhaps the people who complained about portion size didn't understand the concept of mezze? Or were simply greedy. It's certainly food to be greedy about - I couldn't fault anything. The service was impeccable; we actually had to ask our lovely waitress to give us a bit of a break before she brought the mains because we had all enjoyed the mezze rather more than was wise!Semosh offers everything you'd like to see in a family-run restaurant; the vibe (apart from the minor cold front to our left) was lively and happy, everyone enjoying themselves and the food. My husband has spent quite a lot of time in Turkey so he knows good Turkish food, and this was great Turkish food. Oh, and they make a superb Mai Tai.I'd say perhaps those sad people who complained so bitterly (and vocally) should come back and give it another chance. But I really hope they don't.

After finishing starters, we had to wait about an hour for mains to arrive, with no explanation for the wait. Restaurant wasn't too busy and was a Friday night. When asked about this, the waitress, who seemed to be manager, simply said "It's not a fast-food restaurant", before walking away abruptly. This manager needs to be trained in basic customer service. The food itself was ok, but let down by very small portions. Mains (lamb and chicken shish) were disappointing. Nothing wrong with the food, just overpriced. Already unhappy with the service and wait, I expressed discontent with the portions. I was told by the same manager that each portion is weighed out, but was told in such an aggressive, defensive manner that it left us all shocked and confused. This aggressive behaviour continued throughout the evening, to such a point that we had to leave early. Multiple times we were told we could leave if we didn't like the food and could see other tables uncomfortable at the managers awful manners. I've never seen someone so hostile over a comment on a meal. We had high expectations for SEMOSH and thought it was great for the first 20 minutes. But this experience has been utterly ruined by the rude and confrontational behaviour of the manager. She should be embarrassed by this service...

We had an amazing meal and experience as always. Dee and the team are amazing running a family restaurant and trying to recover business to pre pandemic levels. I am so incensed by what I witnessed yesterday when out for dinner, and noticed the last three horrific reviews all written by the same family who we were sitting next to that I have had to respond to clear it up from a customers perspective who heard and saw everything.They were rude to the owners daughter, complained that they didn't know how to cook mousakka as it had potato in( which it is supposed to) moaned the portion sizes weren't big enough ( that meal 50% taken off the bill) had 5 jugs of tap water, had service charge taken off, and to top it off the young man outside offered out a customer trying to diffuse it as all 5 were shouting and pointing at the owner. That table were Condescending, patronising and treated the staff like they were peasants Absolutely disgusting behaviour by that table.

This was quite literally the worst dining experience ever - the customer service was horrendous, I’ve never been treated so poorly and so unprofessionally. When a suggestion was made, the female manager was rude, highly defensive and threatening it was utterly embarrassing. I would only ever encourage people to AVOID this restaurant.

I was so looking forward to our meal at Semosh, but unfortunately it didn't live up to the great reviews I had read previously. The food was OK but in my opinion, rather overpriced and not that great. That I can cope with, but what really ruined the experience for me, was the young waitress who continually coughed throughout the evening. Given what is going on with Covid-19., this is the last thing you want to be hearing while having a meal out. Why did management not ask her to step off the restaurant floor until her coughing fit was over. She was serving food and drinks and talking to customers. We could all clearly see and hear her coughing for what seemed like ages.This really made me uncomfortable. Another negative is that the senior staff were over the top friendly to customers they seemed to know, yet rather cool to others. We didn't even get a goodbye after paying bill. They were too busy hugging and fussing over a group of obvious regulars. However, my friend raves about the place. So, each to their own. I have only rated this 2, due to coughing waitress. Not hygienic given current climate. I left worrying, rather than having a good evening! I would have rated slightly higher had it not been for this.

I think Semosh is my favourite restaurant in Petts Wood. Writing this review following a recent family meal but have eaten here a number of times. The food is superb, everything freshly made and cooked well. I love the fact you can see the chefs cooking the food on the charcoal grill.

Fresh, Delicious, Great service and family run. Been coming since it opened and never had a bad meal. great for meals as a couple, with friends or with family and kids, big portion sizes and everything is super fresh.

Great lunch for Fathers Day! Large menu choice and portion sizes are large (mains). Service was excellent. A tad noisy, but restaurant more or less full. The side orders of rice and salad were very good. Very clean. Comfy stairs. Would highly recommend to anyone who likes to support local restaurant with good food, cooked fresh to order. Good quality. Parking free outside on Sunday.

Hands down the best Turkish around by far! The staff Super friendly and attentive, they catered for our every need and with the bottomless brunch we never saw the bottom of the glass! The food was absolutely divine as well!

Our first visit to this delightful restaurant and it certainly won't be our last! The decor is lovely, tasteful and unfussy and we received the warmest of welcomes! Service was absolutely first class, friendly and perfectly timed!The food was tremendous. I opted for the mixed grill and my wife for the Macaroni Cheese and both were delicious. We had read other reviews that mentioned the large portions and they weren't kidding! We left feeling well stuffed and the whole dining experience was wonderful! Highly recommended!

This place is a right little hidden gem. We did the bottomless brunch, and it WAS bottomless, you couldn't finish a glass without the waitress topping you up. The decor is lovely too, perfect if you want something a bit special. The food was beautiful too - and a great deal (one cold starter, one hot, a main, and bottomless prosecco for £35) . Staff were really friendly and chatty. I have told so many people about it, because I do find that with the bottomless deals either the drink or the food is cheap or the staff are tight with it. We had various dietary requirements too (which can be a problem in some places) but everyone enjoyed their food. Fab place.

Myself, my husband and 4 hungry boys recently visited Semosh. We were so impressed by the food, it was so fresh, tasty and the portion sizes were huge! The restaurant had a great atmosphere and we felt comfortable straight away. The staff were exceptional and went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. I would highly recommend this wonderful family run local business to anyone. You will not be disappointed!! We have already booked to go back again. The COVID safety measures they have put in place are impeccable so don’t let the virus put you off going out. Semosh have everything covered to perfection.
