They have a vegan menu so I went there for a while. Food used to be ok but the place looks very run down now. I had what looked like fish bones in the vegan fish batter. Just the batter. Not sure if it was cross contamination but fish bones are nasty. Won't return

Don't know if new owners now, but used to always be pleased when used this shop, but my order tonight was dreadful, scallops reheated and hard, roe reheated and burnt round edges and all cold, and was charged £2 for coke, when it came was cancelled, not bottle, won't be going there again

It’s been 5 years since I used Seavers. Looks like new ownership and it’s gone downhill. Struggled to get the order in due to the background noise from shop equipment. The chips were disappointing. Very greasy and no taste. The oil was clearly too old.

Food quality poor salad rotten! And not first time had this last 3 times i have been there. Have been to other seavers and never been an issue

Terrible service , delivered me the wrong food. Sent me fish instead of veggie pie. Being vegetarian not going to be eating fish! Called them back they refused to deliver the correct order. They advised me to place another order so they can deliver my original order. Absolutely disgusted by the service. Wouldn’t be ordering from here again.

Fish was dry, kebab meat was cut razor thin like eating paper. Kebab meat actually gave me gut ache. Really disappointed

the chips were cold, the kebab meat barely warm, the fish was greasy, always loved there food, but it went in the bin, must have changed owners, very disappointed

Been tonight, kebabs are so small, miserable staff , 1st time i been tonight and won't go back.

Smallest kebab I have ever had. £7.50 for a mixed kebab in a pitta. Hardly any meat in it. Don't waste your money. And it wasn't just mine I watched a kebab wrap go out with uber with very small amount of doner meet. Rip off chippy try somewhere else

We had a vere nice meal today staff was nice to food was good we went in to Thornton-Cleaveleys at 13:30 as on your right up on your all day specials you say you do Saveloy + Chips just to be told you not with was a shame as two out of the three of us love them and was so looking forwarld to having them today think you need to take it off your listings if your not gping to have them in your shops

Ran out salad was eating dry food felt like the burger was dry never again

I have never experienced such disgusting customer service in my whole life. I went in last night at 21:10 (they close at 22:00). A girl walks up to the counter, leans all annoyed on the counter behind and didn’t even say hello, I assumed she was there to take my order so I asked for what I wanted for her to respond with “what” I repeated it again and she turned her head away and said something, I asked her to repeat it as I didn’t hear, she said it again - turning her head away. I said sorry but you keep turning around so I’m not catching what you’re saying. She raised her voice SO loud and was throwing her hands around saying “WE ARE CLOSING THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE LEFT”. She spoke to me like I was stupid and like absolute rubbish. I have never been so disgusted in my life. You should never speak to a person like that let alone a customer. Secondly, it was nearly an hour before closing time and I couldn’t order what I wanted? I will never go to this chip shop again. We took our custom to Portway.

Delicious chips, vegan tikka burger was absolutely delicious. Do not ever remove that from menu.

Nearest chippy to grab a bit of lunch at work, avoid the battered chips. I think whoever preps and cooks must have worked for or has plans in the future to work for government. If your gonna sell battered chips to hide the BAD potatoes perhaps change your batter mix cos I saw right through your ploy. Only a small portion but over half had blackened potatoes under the coating. Never again.....

Recently used this chip shop and I highly recommend! The tall, dark haired lady who served me was so friendly & helpful. The food was amazing, and the portion size was great. I will definitely be returning. Thank you!

Hadn’t visited Seavers for over 3 years, since I’ve moved from the area, oh boy has this place gone downhill. Chips were awful stale and dry, the tikka kebab was just as bad, tasteless zero flavour. Will not return, complete waste of money, definitely one to avoid.

So I went in and asked for a Haddock, guy said 7 mins. I saw him pull a fillet out of the freezer, and he went out back. I was hoping that he was rotating stock, and perhaps had a fully defrosted one to cook. I was wrong. This is now day 3, and I’m food poisoned pretty badly. How on earth are these guys allowed to handle food, I don’t know, because I imagine he thawed the fillet with boiling water, and then deep fried it. Why on earth just refuse me, and say we have cod, instead of poising me. Never ever would I return.

Used to use this chippy regularly unfortunately the last few times i ordered food from here has not be great at all the chips have a really dirty oil taste not edible. Chicken is decent but Yh will not be ordering from here anymore unfortunately ☹️

Ordered first from Uber today, sorry to say the chips where old and stale, could taste the oil… mixed meat rap had no salad, everything looked very sad.. even the gravy hadn’t been stirred was full of lumps.. not good people !!! Won’t be ordering again sorry ! Full refund through Uber

Has this place changed owners? Service is terrible. Last delivery was an hour late. Tried again tonight and delivery time changed 4 times. Phoned the shop and they picked up and left phone off the hook without talking. It used to be great but from recent experience this place has gone downhill

We have been a regular customer of this Seavers branch for a while now and the food and portion size and normally fantastic. However, the last few times of ordering i’ve noticed the price has gone up, the portion size has halved and the quality and taste of the food has gone down hill. I get theres a cost of living crisis and everything has risen in price, which is why I don’t mind paying extra but i expect it to be the same great quality as usual.

Worst Fish n Chip Experience EVER! Shop might look nice/clean but I found disgusting hair in my food and the fish was actually ROTTEN & STANK it made me feel sick for DAYS! Won't allow comments without giving a Star otherwise I would give Zero!!! So many Bad Reviews on Hygiene, Burnt Oil & Off food the 5 Star Ratings must be fake or Outdated! Put me off eating out!

We had a delivery from this restaurant tonight and it was the best kebab we’ve had in a long time! We went for the kebab in naan meal deal. The portions were insane - such great value for money. Everything was hot, fresh, tasty. Will return for future orders. Side note; the southern fried chicken gravy really is a “must try” as their website says. Absolutely delicious. Thank you!

Brought chips from here today. They are the worst chips I’ve ever had from a chip shop. Dry!! Taste like they were yesterdays. Not nice at all.

Had 2 large fish £19.50 so expected a bit of quality. Tasted like it was fried in burnt oil. Will not be going back thanks for the friendly service. Disgusting food.

Ordered and my chips tasted like chemical and to top it off a big fat piece of mould on them!!!! Bloody disgusting.

Worst chipshop ever chips were cold and burnt took them back not ontrested in what I said never again bad food and service.

Staff wise, I would say the lad was nice, friendly and polite, however he had and injured finger, which was bandaged, he should really have been wearing gloves to handle food, he was doing his best not to handle the food with it, but it’s not great is it really, give the kid some gloves, and a uniform or something, even an apron would be an improvement. Food wise I had a kebab with Mediterranean chicken, chicken was super dry and were it not for the tasty chilli sauce it would have been inedible, meat was already cut and in a metal container so maybe that’s why it was dry, pitta bread was still cold but again outside was dry, properly would go again but next time I’ll try something else because the chips looked ok, fish portions looked on the small side too. maybe try that next time, I think.

Quality has gone down here. Not sure if new management? Missing items when food was delivered. Also food delivery took a while and food came luke warm to cold. Hope the standards they have had in past pick up again.

Order the 1st time here and the food is vile and cold. To make matters worse no one answer the phone always saying busy.. Received orders but missing one item and other item was incorrect. Eatting the food find a stapler I'm my curry sauce. No wonder you got bad reviews

The last 3 times that we’ve ordered here, we’ve had missing items. It’s been a sauce here, a drink there but was chicken and sauce today. whenever Ive spoken to them, they’re dismissive and only offer to include more food the next time we order. But there’s no way to get this via just eat. Terrible service! Just order from somewhere else!

Absolutely awful. Terrible customer service. They leave out items deliberately. They must have changes hands - I used to love this place. The last 3 or 4 orders have been wrong every single time, they leave off one or two small items. When you call to ask for them to deliver the rest, they claim that they just can’t do it and will give you a bigger order next time - which is absolutely ridiculous. I can forgive a mistake, I can’t forgive poor food quality and offensive customer service. Don’t bother ordering.

we orderd 5 kebabs and and other stuff they ended up missing 6 items we rang them back and they told us the driver forgot the order to ring him and wendidnt have his number they just hung up and turned there phone off. the food that came was disgusting i wouldnt give it to my dog lol 😂

Good chip shop. It's about right on pricing. Same as other chippies but the food I had brought didn't seem to be very greasy. Not a bad chip shop.

Food is a bit expensive but great tast and a decent large menu.

Really went down hill last 6 mo the. Always burnt. They've changed the vegan kabab so it tastes and looks like burnt bits from the bottom. Chicken kabab isn't what it used to be. And the chips are always soggy now. Shame as they used to be really good.

Okay so ordered off uber... absolutely disgusting and actually gives other seavers a bad name! The chicken kebab was from the day before it was not fresh was dry and hard to swallow the kebab was disgusting and the chips were dry an black! Spoke to Adam and Bennet in store who said they can't do nothing but to mention their names next time and they will sort something out? What makes you think im ordering again... as whoever I was speaking to if they've even tested the food...he said he wasn't allowed to eat the food!!! If the staff aint allowed to eat it what makes it safe for others to eat????

Prices are ridiculous way to expensive

This was the 3rd time in 1 week I bought food. 1. Fish and chips was horrible! 2. Doner kebab with naan bread and chips was horrible 3. Chicken and chips!!!! Omg the chicken was stinking and the colour was like dark purple! Absolutely never ever going back and would not recommend to anyone! Absolutely 1 out of 10! Not recommended!

Absolutely disgusting re heated food tasted like rubber

Awful cold hard meats , very dark chips and food due to oil not changed regularly. Very poor quality control serving food well past its holding time in the range . Don't know how this place has not been shut down. As for management please pop to Tasty Plaice in Merry Hill Eat Central to educate yourself on what real customers expect from a chippy , where the prices match the quality and freshness of the food.

A while back saw young guy picking his nose above the chip fryer.. put me right off. Plus seen people in their smoking out back then handling food with no gloves. I refuse to buy food here anymore

A year or two ago I had a fantastic mixed meat kebab from here but today it was terrible I believe it's got new owners because it's gone downhill the meat was old and dry and the Donna meat had a piece of bone in it, never again, avoid at all costs!

I ordered 2 kebab wraps and chips the wraps were that hard you could snap them the kebab meat was dry and hard, god knows how long the kebab meet had been stored in thier pot , the worst chippy in the area and wouldn't recommend anyone use it, with the cost of living being so high people can't afford to waste money they should be ashamed of themselves serving such bad food

Absolutely awful food, was told fish is fresh out the fryer. But cold to the touch inside the batter and like eating rubberchips are rediculousy awful.

Absolutely disgusting! 4 out of 4 meals are vile. Greasy soggy chips covered in black bits. Cheese burger bread was that stale the top bun broke in half burger over cooked and hard! Never again!!!!

Ordered from deliveroo....u saw driver sat on road which leads into my road ..he made no effort to get out car or walk the 20 steps to where I live ..made no offered to knock door...we have easy clear access to our home.. he then drove off ....i called seavers said please can you send him back with my order...she said she is unable to as they often come back with no order 🤷 ...I said so he gives to to who?...oh we don't know....!...so I'm 12 quid down ....feel robbed ....under these times we living in...🤷,. deliveroo won't compensate me as apparently he missed called me ..this is a con....lazy drivers too lazy to get out car and knock door ....I'm fuming ! ...never ordering again from here NOR deliveroo....be careful guys ....!

Disgusting I had sausage and chips and pie and chips i live few doors up the road I got home they were lukewarm .the pie was dry and the sausage was as white as being raw I would never eat there again waste of £10 it went in the bin

Ordered the vegan tikka in a naan Love the flavour of the tikka but it’s actually just over powered by the amount of oil and the whole thing is just a mess when you open it and really isn’t pleasant to eat Also just wanted to add a worker there was actually walking round the kitchen bear foot like what is all that about

The food is excellent, best vegan options in a chippy for miles around. We order from here at least once a month because the food is excellent. But... For the last 6 months or so they have got something wrong on every single order we've had. No problem when it's no sauce but it is a problem when it's an entire person's meal missing which is often the case. They usually bring the missing item after calling but this means someone has to eat 30+ minutes after everyone else. Or if you order near closing time and they're shut by the time your delivery arrives, someone will have to go without. Honestly, we've ordered through just eat, deliveroo and ubereats and it's the same every time. Also, don't walk in there expecting to order food at busy times because there are so many delivery drivers in and out that they can't cope and you'll be ignored - hence why we order online.

The food was full of pure salt. Every bite was difficult to stomach, so much so that it actually made me sick. Do not buy from here. The food could genuinely give you a heart attack.

Order was not started until we arrived to pick up and so was 25 minutes to wait for my order as they didn't have most ready so had to make up from scratch, as well as some fish not even being available despite being able to order online. Communication is abysmal and I was ignored when I came in so they staff could continue chatting. Never visiting again.

Went in store to order, was left standing for fifteen minutes whilst staff were chatting and swearing amongst themselves, priority is with delivery drivers. A young girl noticed I was there a long while before asking am I a delivery driver which I replied no I’m waiting to make an order, to which she said I should have been standing to the centre of the of the counter to order to make myself clear I’m not a delivery driver. So I made my order and waited where she asked to then be told by a young boy of staff to move over to right where the delivery drivers should be there waiting, to be honest I won’t be going back again the food was awful when I got it back home , and I felt when how I was spoke to whilst in their establishment was they stereotyped me as a delivery driver. Will not use this place again

My favourite takeaway! Beautiful food, big portions and they always follow order instructions. I like that when ordering online, you can specify which sauce or salad you want on your burger. Not all shops let you do that. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is I prefer well done chips, otherwise could not fault

My order turn up ,i ordered 2 mini fish & chips they cut one small fish in half,put half of the fish in each box ,we where shocked the way the order turned up ,put off ordering from them now because this is the 2 time ordered from this chip shop messed up order

Just ordered food , stone cold , chips mushy not cooked properly. Will not be ordering again as this 2nd bad meal I have ordered through uber eats . Disappointed

I have orders through uber eats and visitied the place in person. The order takes forever to be made although the drivers do a good job of delivering it quickly. The chips are incredibly greasy as well as the donner kebab. Staff are unhelpful and sometimes rude. Whatever tike of day they are very miserable. They cannot/do not listen to instructions and when you remind them politley they have a attidue. I have also witnessed staff actively arguing with constomers and treating delivery drivers with absolute disrespect. The food takes a while to be made despite you being there and it is very very overpriced for usual chippy food and the donner meat, despite being full lamb, doesn't taste very special and has a very fatty aftertatse to it. My advice is avoid especially on weekends they cannot cope with the demand.

Staff are extremely rude, will stand with food which is ready (fresh out the microwave) and have a conversation with their coworkers whilst your waiting, no rush just take their sweet time. ‘Vegan’ food is not actually vegan, stored right next to sausages.

Order was taking ages to be prepared, waited almost an hour and they have now cancelled it without ringing or letting me know.

Food delivered within the specified timeframe. However, quality of the food was awful! Sausage and Doner Meat were burnt/over cooked. The kebab was was layered in sauce which made it inedible. The whole lot except for the chips went in the bin. First and definitely the last time I will be ordering from here again.
