I've been to this takeaway 3 times now since working away in the local area and each time has been a delight. The food is hot and fresh, very tasty and dishes are each unique in flavour the portion sizes are very good too. Highly recommend!

Often stop here when passing as I live 20 miles away near Alnwick but tonight was board and hungry so made a special trip down at 5.30 wasn't disappointed tried something different with my usual beef curry and fried rice, Hot wok house special chow mein which was amazing 👏 thinking of moving closer 😋

Regularly order from here and haven't had a bad meal! Very fast from ordering to collection meaning it's very convenient when you just can't be bothered to cook. A real asset to the local community

I have been coming here for years. Food is always beautiful and tasty. My fave is the crispy chicken in cantonese sauce. You will not be disappointed!

Another fantastic meal delivered by the GT team 2 Munchy boxes for the boys which were on shipped to Heaton ! The now legendary Mrs P and Singapore Noodles with Chilli Battered Prawns in Hot Sweet and Sour Sauce. Nothing too much trouble and very well priced for the quality of food. Keep going your food is great and always hot and delivered as promised.

Beef and black bean sauce is absolutely spot on

Whilst living in Hazlerigg this was our closest Chinese Takeaway and I never had a bad meal even once, amazing food and delivered piping hot, I couldn’t recommend them enough,

Portions weren't great and the sauce was very thin and greasy

I looked around the local area and this had the best review score so thought I would give it a go. The chips were overcooked, crispy and hollow. The prawn crackers were thin and chewy. Felt like both had been sitting around a while with the chips likely reheated. The meal itself was OK but not better than other options in the area with poorer reviews. Maybe I was unlucky and this was a one off. However it has put me off trying again.

Arrived home from a fortnight holiday on Sunday afternoon, messaged GT with an order for myself and my husband Chicken curry with fried rice and deep fried crispy chicken in cantonese sauce with chips, Omg it was the most beautiful meal i had ever tasted, normally i struggle to eat these portions but by god i ate every bit of my crispy chicken dish, far too many chips so i didnt eat all of them, husband chicken curry was also amazing, he ate every bit of his, got to be the best chinese takeaway in the north east 5 stars from me

Worrying, ordered from here a few weeks back and meal was very poor, sauces watery, prawn crackers chewy, just not great at all and suffered very bad food poisoning afterwards... wont be back ever

New to the area and trying to find some good takeaways, order at the door service and wait in your can something I'm not used to but like it and the gentleman brought me my order, very nice i thought. ordered a meal for 1, salt and chilli wings and a chicken chow main £25 to me moving here from Edinburgh I thought this was a bit expensive as i would have paid around £15 in Edinburgh for thus order however I paid and got home and I wasn't disappointed portion sizes different compared to what I'm used (smaller) but wel worth a visit. I'll return but read the menu for prices first.

Ordered on Saturday at about 6pm and order was ready to collect in 15 minutes and food was brought over to my car very promptly on arrival. Excellent service, especially for how busy GT are on a Saturday. All food was still piping hot after the 10 minute trip home. We ordered a variety of sides to share and the egg fried rice, chips and soft noodles were all of a good standard and the portions were more than enough to have some leftover for the next day (which is always a major plus in my book). For mains we had Chicken in plum sauce and Chicken in Cantonese sauce. Two nice sweeter dishes and both had plenty of flavour, my preference would be for the Cantonese sauce as it had a little bit more tang than the Plum sauce but you can’t go wrong either way if you’re looking for a sweet dish to add to your order. Also the curry sauce which I used on the sides had a good flavour and spice to it which was appreciated because curry sauces elsewhere often lack a good level of spice. However, where Golden Touch really elevates itself above the competition is the quality of its meat. The chicken was extremely juicy and tender and probably the highest quality chicken I’ve had from a Chinese. Many other takeaways and restaurants tend to lose the tenderness of the chicken when it’s deep fried but that’s definitely not the case here. Great service and very high quality food that was full of flavour. I’d highly recommend Golden Touch.

had 2 meals on 29.10.21 and it was so salty we couldn't really eat it. and price have gone up that much not worth the wait. won't be back.

We ordered a delivery as we are staying locally, this is the best tasting Chinese I have ever eaten, proper meat in the dishes and good portions, 10 out of 10. Just wish they would open up where we live !!

Excellent food. I haven't been for a long time due to the kids being picky and not wanting anything with flavour. But after driving back from a long day at work, knowing the family had eaten already, I dropped in. Ordered at the door after a quick look through the menu. The staff were great, very helpful, polite and patient. There is a lot of choice but in the end I went for chicken with spring onion and ginger, boiled rice and a portion of salt and chilli chips. I then went back and sat in my car and waited. They brought the food to my car within 10mins. As I said before, it was excellent. Sadly the rest of the family also realised that I had bought this so they all came down and tucked in too. The chicken was very tender and it was a good portion. Chips were amazing. The menu was then passed around and the kids are placing their order for when I next go back - think they are hoping that is tomorrow. Can't rate them highly enough, thanks

Lovely food but the shredded chicken in Cantonese sauce wasn't shredded it was big chunks of chicken and no sauce with the other half's honey and garlic chicken and King prawns. Still tasty though....but if the menu says shredded chicken and a sauce with the honey dish that's what we expect... thats why only 4 stars.

We have used this Chinese for over 15 years. It is the best and we have never ever had a bad meal. We even travel to it when we relocated. IGNORE NEGATIVE COMMENTS from NEGATIVE customers who like to complain. Read the reviews from the regulars like us. We ordered salt n pepper chicken, chow mien, chicken curry and chips last night, could not eat it all so heated noodles up today and ate the chicken and curry Cold, it was delicious.Some people just thrive on NEGATIVITY and their reviews are worthless.I am writing this review as i feel it’s very very unfair to suggest that eating food from here causes you to run to the toilet as one customer has stated. We have ate her for 15 years and never ever experienced any bad stomachs.Some people just lead NEGATIVE lives. Thankfully we don’t.The owner of this takeaway works extremely hard and all you need to look at is how many cars are parked outside and how many likes he has on his Facebook page to realise how popular his food is. He also does a lot for the community feeding struggling families during a pandemic and helping others.So whoever left the negative reviews obviously lead very sad boring lives.

Being new to the area, this is probably the best Chinese I've had. Portion sizes are massive! So you gotta have a big stomach.

Absolutely love the Golden Touch. The food is amazing, fantastic quality, extensive selection and true value for money. Its doesn't look anything from the outside but never judge a book by its cover the food is delicious and always piping hot. The staff are incredibly friendly and always happy to help and welcome you with a smile. Fantastic safe, organised collection service during the pandemic. Gary and his team have an absolute asset to our community over the past year. We have just moved house and thankfully still in the same area so we get to have our regular delicious treat teas! I love the Deep Fried Crispy Beef in Cantonese sauce and House Special Green Chilli and Garlic 😋😋

This is the only place I'll ever get my chinese takeaway from. Even when I moved out of the area for a period of time I used to drive the extra distance to pick up my food. The foods always lovely and high quality and the staff are so friendly!

The only chinese takeaway that I can honestly say is worth leaving the house for! Good amount of food and when you cut into the meats you can tell its good quality ingredients! Simply wouldn't go anywhere else. The only thing you could improve on if anything is.... Start delivering to Cramlington 😉😂.

We've ordered from her for 6 years and without fail, every single time we have asked for Gluten free they have accommodated where they can. Never once have we had a bad meal - it has always been beautiful which is why we continue to go back even after moving from the area. The service we've received has always been exceptional- even on busy nights the staff are always courteous and helpful. During the pandemic the guys at Golden Touch have went out of their way to care for the community- I've never seen anything like it from any other take away. Massive well done and thank you to these guys- this is why we just keep coming back time and time again.

Bar far the best Chinese in the area

By far the best Chinese in the North East by a long run. Been using them for years and won’t go anywhere else. I’ve even since relocated 26 miles away and still make the journey there for our Chinese when there’s 100’s in our local area. If I could rate more than 5*, I would gladly! Highly recommend them!!

We’ve used GT for almost 6 years now since moving to the area, in that time we must have had hundreds of meals! If there has ever been an issue (which has genuinely only been around 4/300 or so times) it’s always rectified straight away. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious - anytime people come over to ours who aren’t from our area, they always want a GT takeaway ☺️

Afrwe using a takeaway on Gosforth High Strret for years I thought we'd try here as when I pass on my way home it is always busy, so glad we did, everything is excellent,a mix up with meals recently but this was quickly rectified without fuss, my fam is very impressed and htat takes some doing, thank you.

While the food is passable quality, their complete and utter disregard for those with allergies is shocking. However two stars are given for warning us prior to ordering.

Standards have dropped massively since covid19. Had the worst takeaway of my life from here recently. Food was burnt, really strong charcoal flavour. The dish I ordered came dry(had this dish dozens of times from here, it always came in a spicy savoury sauce.) Only gave 3 stars because the previous takeaways I've had from here were decent. Felt the need to post this because I feel you're cutting corners.
