Seasalt in Reigate and Banstead

Lovely people and lovely place but sadly the fish and chips are saturated in oil , and leaves a not very nice taste in ur mouth , tastes like the oil hasn’t been changed regularly, I was once told that you need to change the oil every time after you have cooked in it 🙄

We have just moved to Reigate, so still finding our way with take away. We ordered 1 x chicken breast, 1 x Scampi, 2 small chips and a portion of curry sauce. The chicken was cooked to perfection as was the scampi which came with fresh lemon and a portion of tartare sauce. The chips were plentiful, dry and delicious and the curry sauce just spicy enough. A definite favourite chippie and well worthy of 5 stars!

Spent £23.50 this evening on 2 take away portions of cod and chips. Very disappointing! Chips were nothing special and the fish tasted as though it had been cooked in diesel. Needless to say.....We will not be going there again.

Really gone down hill, it’s so sad as we used to say this was the best fish and chips but unfortunately it definitely wasn’t this evening.The fish was extremely greasy , the sausage was like rubber and the chips were also extremely greasy!. They usually put the chips in a separate box but today it was all shoved into one box where the fish had been sitting on top of the chips which made them even more greasy. The bread roll which again is usually really nice - very dry!, I’m sorry sea salt but as regular customers for the last few years we probably won’t be back. The quality seems to have slipped some what your usual high quality food didn’t deliver today.

Over priced for a takeaway. Fish was good. However chips were terrible, really over cooked and in many cases bordering on hard. Shame if you consider fish and chips should be equally great !!! Tartare sauce homemade was runny and not think or as expected. SO … sorry but this was very disappointing, chips were shockingly bad and really not worth the price

I will travel for good fish and chips and this is definitely a place for it. Always friendly service.

We eat here evey time we visit Redhill and are never disappointed, - the fish and chips(and service) are alsways wonderful.

I was with my elderly Dad who is in the early stages of dementia. The lady that served my dad shouted at him to hurry up - I know that this may just be her manner but the whole atmosphere was chaotic with all the staff shouting at each other. I used to love this takeaway but will not go again my cod was tasteless and the batter was soggy and greasy

Twice now we have ordered from Seasalt and have been very disappointed. The food used to be exceptional, thick tasty cod in a crunchy batter and great tasting fresh chips. Twice now the cod has been thin, watery and tasteless, the batter soggy. It’s also expensive for what it is but I didn’t mind when the quality was good as you get what you pay for right? Not now I’m afraid. Such a shame as it used to be so good but sadly we won’t be ordering again.

The fish and chips are good but not that good waiting nearly 2 hours for a delivery is unacceptable when it arrived the food was cold and had to be reheated the calamari for the price is disgusting. We have all been in a fish and chip shop and it does not take 2 hours to produce two meals. The cost was £38 for two meals with delivery a waste of money. I would urge future customers to really think hard if you want this restaurant food. This restaurant has over stretched itself and is only interested in profits there is no quality. They know delivery customer orders wait for there food but this restaurant has pushed that bar too far. The meal was terrible overpriced and a complete waste of money.

Like the title says! A favourite by all in my family, lovely fish and chips! Massive portions so if eating alone you can freeze the chips for another day!

Generous portions but my order was wrong despite me telling the lady several times. Her English wasn’t the best which isn’t a problem until you don’t get the food you want. Fish wasn’t fresh but batter was good as were the chips. Bit pricey for fish and chips but then again I am from a fishing port up north so have high expectations as to what proper fish and chips should be like.

Surely the best fish and chip shop in the world. My husband and I always get one to share as the fish is ENORMOUS and you get loads of chips. Absolutely delicious. We had fish and chips I Wales this week (first holiday in almost 2 years!) and realised we have been spoilt... it was about 10x worse! Sea salt has ruined fish and chips anywhere else for us forever as we will forever be comparing... we'll never be able to get fish and chips anywhere else now as it will always be a let-down 😂

Really disappointed my fish was a rubbery mess and the batter was watery and crispy. The chips had been probably been sat there for sometime as they were oily And gross. For nearly £10 I would expect something much better. This place use to be really good but has tanked since lockdown.

Used these guys a few times before and they never disappoint! Best fish and chips around 💪 massive portions, fresh and piping hot. Had the chicken special for the first time today and it was divine 😍🤤

I ordered fish and chips at this restaurant through Just Eat and sadly the driver delivered the wrong meal to my door. When I called the restaurant, the owner/manager answered and took a new order from me - personally delivering it to my door less than 30 minutes later at no extra charge! Food was great, really hot and tasty. Impeccable service. Would highly recommend! Thanks Sea Salt!

Great food to take away and eat in, you can even take your own wine if you are eating in. The service is first class and you are made to feel nothing is too much trouble.

Great quality and great service every time. These guys make sure you have a great visit and they certainly know how to cooked fish and chips to a high standard. If I eat fish and chips anywhere else on my travels I use this place as a marker to compare with.... so far all the others have fallen short. This is fish and chips on another level.

Had a bit of a wait for our fish and chips to be cooked. But it was well worth it. All freshly cooked to order. Very tasty,will definitely be returning.

Our son and his girlfriend have just moved to Lesbourne Village, Reigate and we often pop up from Sussex for the evening. We've discovered Seasalt, a wonderful fish and chip restaurant nearby. A great variety of fish is as fresh as when it was caught, staff are energetic - they need to be with the vast numbers of people who arrive to eat there or take supper home. We've never had a bad meal - love the villagey atmosphere, great food and general youthful and buzzy atmosphere. Only fear submitting this review is that we'll never get in. Reminds me of the old Peter Geale's fish and chip shop in Kensington. You have to take your own drinks - the advantage here is that is really keeps the price down.
