Ordered for delivery through Uber Eats, wrong order delivered. Phoned shop and they apologised and said would send the order, Uber driver also apologised for the error. 2nd order arrived, part of first order had been microwaved, fish was cold, chips luke warm, dogs thought Xmas had arrived early as not fit for us to eat:( Sorry but won’t be ordering from here again. Used to be the No 1 chippy, not any more!

£9.20 for a couple of fishcakes, chips and curry sauce. Fishcakes where warmed up from lunch time. Chips weren't the best. Awful will never visit again.

The entrance is easy to access but has a small step. The options available are good and of good quality. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Used to be a regular here and ordered occasional as food is nice but been to order tonight and didn’t and not be again the future the price rises on food is ridiculous this is just profit before anything else looking at other local chippys ans they are 50-60% cheaper for example one place for small chops is £1.45 and these now charge £3.65 it’s daylight robbery and from what I can see from previous review it’s gone downhill a bit.

Chicken meat hardly and meat just fatty bits

You know what I thought I would give this place another go I was dead wrong to!! Just had a deliver you sent me the wrong drink incompleted order I am funing overcharged and can't get a small order right. Bloody useless the lot of you!!! And your chips are like cardboard disgusting!!

Was absolutely delicious. We both had the Kebab with a large chips to share but there were some errors on the order like onions on one of the kebabs when requested without and no salt & vinegar on the chips after it was requested too. But these are trivial as was still outstanding food.

Kebab was completely bereft of sauce, looked like someone had just thoughtlessly yeeted the world’s driest donner meat into a sad little pitta bread. The lack of salad, quite frankly, broke my girlfriend’s heart and I had to pick the pieces yet again (so thanks for that). Don’t even get me started on the mushy peas. I wouldn’t wish the consistency of those on my worst enemy, still thinking about them now actually, pathetic. I dive straight into them as I was understandably hungry and excited. Sh

Fishcake was burnt, the chips was old and cold and the gravy was lumpy. Will not be wasting my money again here.

Far far too expensive for such a small portion nearly £17.00 for one kebab with very little salad is a complete joke . I am still hungry and now need to cook something else . This was lush. However, we did ask for the mushy peas to be separate but when opened they were not separate. Other than that really nice fish and chips!

Not great ordered mixed meat and chips my partner had fish chips and curry sauce, was only in there a matter of minuits and it was ready, got home and it’s barely warm, chips are hard and there was more batter on the fish than actual fish. Not cheap eaither. Wouldn’t go again.

Normally one of our favourite chippys but chicken meat was burnt and dry and donnor was dry had hardly any sauce and both was stone cold

I said I would collect and swap. I went in they had my order ready in a bag and had included a portion of chips and can of pop to apologise which was greatly appreciated. However when I got home there was hardly any salad on my kebab, the chicken was horrible and went to the dog and was cold and as for the chips possibly the worse I have ever tasted. Dry, chewy stale, and cold. Definitely will not be going here again. Expensive and terrible food and service. Avoid !!!!!!!!!

Absolutely gorgeous food, the best chip shop I’ve ever had, I live in Mansfield but always order from here when we fancy a chip shop tea well worth the delivery fee

Possibly the worst chips I've ever had. Rubbery texture with almost no flavour. My battered sausage tasted like flour and had almost no texture.

Do not order from here,I ordered a small fish chips and sausage,well the fish was tiny!I wouldn’t even class it as one absolutely rip off wasn’t even the size of my palm and the chips were stale🤢will not let me reply to your reply so I’ll justp lol add it to this,I did not order a fish goujon I ordered a baby fish,so I definitely expect to have more than 2 mouth fulls worth barley that infact,and I don’t need to lie about something to boost my negativity at all maybe you should take the feed back and actually do something about it because it doesn’t look like it’s just me who’s had a bad order!I don’t think I’d even feed my dog this meal

Ordered the family special for £5 - wow, what a steal. Fed four of us with plenty to spare. All fresh, great portion size and wrapped ready at the collection time we selected. An amazing idea to feed a family well in the current economic climate - hope to see more fantastic deals like this in the future, we shall definitely be back. Thank you.

Chips so dry, like they’d been sat there most of the evening! Likewise with the sausage! Not nice at all.

Rip off. Food awful now days no idea what’s going wrong , twice now chips here bad after taste like sour oil, hard and dry chips. Gave it a couple of goes after bad experience and that’s us done now. It’s really expensive compared to other local chip shops, and the foods not great at all.

Staff do not listen when ordering. I had to repeat myself 3 or 4 times. It wasn't busy but had to wait while staff were finishing their conversations.. chips I got were old and leathery. Most of my order was tepid warm at best. Potions were small.... I've recently moved to the area and been to this chippy 4 times i was hoping everytimei called in it would be better than the last.... I will not be returning... no stars...

Awful food burnt fish cakes and no sausage which was for my 6 year old and was very up set! And the prices are over the top.

Most was absolutely lovely. Only issue was the onion rings was more batter than onion. Other that that, all great. Driver was amazing also .

Order missing items, restaurant when rang unhelpful and would only suggest getting a refund for items missing. When you've spent 75 quid on an order you expect to either get your food or the restaurant to rectify their mistake. Also the vegetarian burger was meat!!! Shame the person eating it is allergic to meat!

Travel a few miles for a decent chippy found this place while at work a few years ago the food is fantastic visit with the family at least once a month too quality good portions fantastic hidden gem the kebab meats is my personal favourite best in Nottinghamshire

Just called in for dinner and it was lovely .Very pleasant staff .Lovely light hearted banter over salt n vinegar. Will definitely call again soon. Keep up the great work guys. 👍

Lovely place for fish 🐟 😋 and chips

For the price we paid the portions and general quality of the food was horrendous. The fish was tiny, the chips were dry and rubbery and the peas were that salty they were inedible.

Unfortunately food wasn't very hot but once heated was lovely. Delivery was slightly earlier but again not a problem.

Chips needed cooking longer but everything else was great

No salad even though it was ordered on the doner kebab. Chicken kebab wrap just fell apart. Chips were seriously over cooked Usually lovely but very disappointed this time.

Bought fish and chips from here a couple of weeks ago and they were so poor that we rang up and complained about them. The owner apologised and offered us a free replacement whenever we wanted to call in. My partner called in today for our free replacement fish and chips and brought them home for tea. I can honestly say that they were even more disgusting than the first lot and, consequently, have gone in the food bag for the fox tonight. I feel a bit sorry for him really, (the fox that is) as he's used to getting tasty leftovers for his supper. He's going to be so disappointed!! You've had your chance to redeem yourselves Sea Queen Fisheries, you won't get another!!

Great food! I was delighted to be greeted by some friendly faces when I entered, and was served by a girl named Katy. She was very kind and helpful with my order. When I got home I was still accompanied by some hot, delectable chips and chicken kabab! Very nice staff, great food and would recommend to anyone.

Great value for money and brilliant customer service particular by Katy who served us in no time ,she recommend the chicken tikka which was lovely.Shall be coming again.

We don’t come here very often and now I remember why. Ordered a battered sausage, fish cake, large chips and a potato fritter on Saturday afternoon around 1ish. Got told AFTER we had paid that it would be a 5 min wait for the sausage( should be told before in my opinion) 20 minutes later we were still waiting for our food! I ended up just asking for something else instead because we were sick of waiting, we had a hungry angry 2 year old waiting in the car! The prices are extortionate! What cost is £11 here would have cost us £6 at our usual chip shop. To top it off there’s no customer service at all. The young lady that served us was pleasant but the gent was rude, wasn’t talking to staff or customers!

12.30 on a Saturday. Ordered and paid. Was told AFTER ordering it would be 5/10 minutes for a battered sausage to cook. Annoying, but okay we’ll wait. 20 minutes later still waiting. Overpriced, slow, rubbish.

Went in today after a busy day with my partner and ordered 2 simple meals. One being chips, sausage and gravy and the second chips, sausage, BABY FISH and beans. Due to the order totalling nearly £17 I was expecting good quality food and service… how wrong was I. We requested the gravy as a side portion yet to get home and find it smothered all over soggy tasteless chips. In addition to this, I open the other meal and I couldn’t believe my eyes, finding that the baby fish is infect a potato fritter. After ruining my afternoon tea, I rang up to complain about this and was told to provide a receipt which I was never given. After requesting the order to be corrected via delivery I was told this isn’t possible, receiving a sarcastic sorry down the phone. INCOMPETENT STAFF, TASTELESS FOOD and POOR SERVICE. AVIOD, AVOID, AVOID!

Ordered a doner wrap filling bulky tasty!!

I ordered mini fish, chips and battered sausage special, twice, with carton of peas and 2 scollaps, paid £16.00 in total, gets home to find no battered sausages in either order, was not happy very disappointed actually, will not be going again,

First visit to this chip shop out of convenience and will be my last. Half the Chip raw inside, despite watching them come straight from the fryer. Baby fish was dry and batter soggy, battered sausage inedible soggy grease soaked batter. Chicken kabab meat (£8) was dry, hard and pretty tasteless. I don’t normally write reviews but felt compelled to do so when you pay good money for food you except it to be good quality and edible! Worth noting that this visit was early on in the evening (5.30) so really no excuse for the fried food not to be fresh and crisp. Will stick to our regular take away in the future.

Food was awful , pitta bread was just falling to pieces and in useable . I use your service a lot and last time had an order delivered to wrong property which I had to reorder,and now this and still had no refund from that so feel have no choice but contacting trading standers

Went out of convenience, never again ! Asked for a large fish, large chips , peas and curry sauce. Total bill £16 +. Told they don’t do large fish just small or regular. When opening the box the fish would be classed as ‘small’ when queried was told that was a regular! Likewise with the chip portion. The damage was done as I’d already paid. The items were placed on the counter so I asked for them to be put in a bag, that would be another 20p I don’t think so after being overcharged for a minuscule dinner ! Left the premises with someone saying ‘have a good evening’ I won’t be recommending this place to anyone and instead go a little further to Dave’s Place.

We just happened to be passing by, and we needed to eat. The front of the takeaway was brightly lit with clear sinage. There was also ample parking. As we entered, I was greeted by a friendly young man who was polite and welcoming. I was utterly surprised at the extensive menu, and I wasn't sure what to choose. Not only was this find was a chippy, but it sold kebabs, etc, including items I had never heard of before. The young man was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful when I asked him. I liked that we could get our meals of small, medium, and large, which is amazing, especially for children who all have different appetites!! My food was so nice that I'd travel to go and eat there again. If you happen to pass by, give it a visit. It has options for people of all ages and at reasonable costs.

I normally rate this place as good so dont usually mind that they are a bit pricier than other chippies. Today the onion rings were soggy, the fish was crispy but was overcooked inside and the chips were so dark they look lkke they had been recooked from lunch. Very disappointed.

We happened to stop by this quaint chippy on our way through from visiting the hospital. From the outside, there was ample space to park, and the sinage and entrance were clean and welcoming. Upon entering, I instantly noticed the extent of the menu and struggled in deciding what I wanted to eat. I liked the fact that I could choose everything that a chippy offered and everything that a takeaway offered, too. I also noticed items on there that I had never heard of, and when I asked a member of staff about this, they were able to explain and was knowledgeable. The staff were pleasant and welcoming and were very patient whilst me, my husband, and 3 children decided what to eat. You are able to decide what portion size you want from small, medium, and large. The prices were relatively reasonable, too. We didn't have to wait long in receiving our hot, freshly cooked food. I have never tasted chips as nice as they were and said to the staff that I would travel here again, just to eat from here. This lovely takeaway is a definite must to visit and is catered for all ages 😊

A pretty average chippy experience. Chips were variable with some hard and the fish cake was bland. Review edited as I mixed up 2 chippies I’ve been to for the first time recently!

As we know, kebabs aren't the healthiest thing to eat, so at least on the rare occasion they get eaten by us, we hope they're good. Unfortunately, this was not. We ordered a mix meat Kebab + chips. The donor meat was okay, but the chicken meat was hard, chewy and non-edible. The chips were also tough & chewy and the full salad consisted of onion & cucumber only? Not that cheap either really.

At the prices Sea Queen charge, one would expect food of good quality. Unfortunately the food is stale and tasteless. Not to mention, the staff are rude. Reading through other reviews, I am not alone in thinking this. Judging by their responses, it seems they think they can justify their high prices. As I said, perhaps so if the food was any good. But unfortunately it’s not. Steer clear. Update: The response from Sea Queen is typical of their replies to other similar reviews. Their claims that there food quality is ‘second to none’ (amongst others) are obviously false, just read down the reviews!! Not too sure what the number of reviews I have made has to do with anything!

Actually the worst chippy I've ever been to. I've noticed the owner replying and arguing with all the negative reviews (extremely unprofessional), so no doubt he'll be all over this 🤩 the pie, battered sausage and fritter were all VERY overcooked, as per the photos. I wanted to order a small portion of doner meat but was shown a gargantuan tray and told "we won't do anything smaller than this" and it's over £8, so I told them to leave it. Also "it's a legal requirement to charge for bags" then how come every other chippy doesn't? That blackened pie was nearly 4 quid and was uneatable 😂 also stop blaming the scabby brown chips on new potatoes. It's clear from your replies that you have an attitude problem and can't handle criticism. Used to be the best chippy around and now everybody is agreeing your food is terrible. Get a clue.
