Love this place.. food always good, the staff are a delight always friendly and helpful, the pub is clean a great atmosphere and its Nice to see Melissa back and in charge now. Great place you won't be disappointed if you visit the eagle 🙂

Lovely visit as we had not been for some time. Food was very tasty and hot on arrival. The service was vey good for a national pub chain and the staff were a real credit to the company

Great restaurant with a good choice of food for a family meal out! Large group of us all enjoyed hot served quality food to be fair and all at a reasonable price, good easy going service! Plenty of parking around and loads of seating early PM on a Saturday. Highly recommend!

Exceptionally quick service from entering to exiting, really nice gentleman on the bar who gave me a chance to use my staff discount which you don’t normally have chance to ask for in other locations he also delivered our food unfortunately didn’t catch his name tho, katsu chicken pizza and the loaded fries which we was able to swap to chips were amazing I will definitely come again

Lovely refurbishment! It is brighter, more open and spacious and relaxing. Staff were friendly and helpful as always, and the food delicious. A very enjoyable lunch

Went for a meal and the service was amazing all the staff was so nice but there were just one waiter was were called Lauren she was polite and helpful i would one hundred percent will come again just because of her. She made my experience so much better

Came here for dinner and I'm so glad we chose this place, we were greeted with friendly staff and seated to a very clean and tidy table. Our server, Lauren, just couldn't have done enough for us to make us feel welcome and happy with our experience. Our food was amazing, very generous portions and very fresh ingredients. I have to say we will definitely return not only because the food is great here, but Lauren's service was fab, she was so friendly and attentive, way better than any other pub ive been to where they just leave you to it. She definitely deserves recognition for her hard work.

Visited on Saturday lunch time, food was delicious compliments to the chef Peter and patto 2 women working at the time, Lauren and Claire such a lovely pair of ladies and nice to have a laugh with them too. Massive improvement from a few months ago.

Food was beautiful apart from the steak on the mixed grill, it didn’t look or taste like steak and it was full of fat but apart from that the rest of the food was beautiful

We come here pretty often and the food is lovely. But we especially wanted to say how good Claire is. She is efficient and very good at her job, and is always kind to us and interested to chat with us and make us welcome. We also wanted to mention Lynsey (not sure about spelling) who is also fabulous, friendly and happy to chat. We look forward to our visits.

Staff were very helpful, well mannered. Food wasn’t piping hot so went cold quick. Portion size was pretty much standard but satisfactory.

The nachos for £9.50 no cheese not even warmed up under the grill. Absolutely disgusting could have gone next door to Aldi for chips and dips for £2. I’d of been embarrassed serving this

We visited last night, table of 6, celebrating 2 birthdays. It was really busy and heard there was a long wait for food. It arrived within a good time frame for how busy you were, no complaints. All courses were perfect. We always enjoy our family meals here. Staff are all helpful again even how busy you were. Thank you.

Waited three quarters of a hour for drinks alone. And it went upto over a hour for food. It wasn't busy plenty of tables empty i see why now. Food was ok nothing special. My daughter got the wrong meal and didn't like the one she had left a awful taste in your mouth . I had a cocktail and I swear there was no alcohol in it . Weak and nasty . Won't be back .

We had our worst experience here the service was absolutely shocking when ordering our food the person at the bar was too busy checking out a group of lads that were walking through she completely got our order wrong. Then the food was awful the ribs tasted of jelly gammon was like rubber chicken extremely dry and then for pudding my son normally has a bowl of custard and a pot of chocolate sauce on the side I ordered this as it normally do paid and when it cam out as 2 little milk pots of custard I was shocked after this we was told the manger would be out to speak to us which never happened we got fed up and started to leave for someone to then come to us and say the manager is busy it the minute they have offered you free dessert which by this point is to late the kids have already had there's and we didn't want any as we are already leaving

Good menu selection, value for money, ease of ordering at the table using a QR code. Drinks came quickly. Food was served quickly and piping hot and very tasty. An enjoyable experience and we will be returning soon.

Meat was nice. Yorkie was ok. The rest was awful must of been in the oven for 2 days. Stuffing ball so over cooked almost broke my teeth. No idea what was going on with the mash? Was squashed flat on the plate. Roastie was soggy. Brocolli undercooked almost raw. Won’t be visiting again in a hurry. Sorry !

We visited lastnight very poor service got there for 6.30 and our food didn't arrive till 7 45 we had children and the staff was very rude and service to table she just slammed the food down I suggest she finds a new job what a massive let down

This was the first time we had been for Sunday lunch. I have to say that we were a little disappointed. Firstly, the picture of the sunday lunch had the gravy in a little gravy boat on the side, exactly how we like it. However, when the food arrived it was swamped in gravy and very watery at that. Secondly, the stuffing ball was as hard as a rock.

We were waiting at the door to be seated for over 5 minutes when someone did finally arrive they wasn't very friendly we were taken to a tiny table in a corner that was still dirty from the last customer while cleaning the table the lady sprayed the cleaner all over my partner the menu on a Sunday is very poor so unfortunately we got up and left and went somewhere else and we won't be recommending or returning in the future

I ordered the beef chilli from the pub classics menu at £13.29 and the portion size was absolutely diabolical. 'BEEF' chilli, there was barely any beef in the sauce, at best there was probably 15 grams of beef, mixed in with a couple of spoonful's of chilli sauce. Barely any nachos, a small portion of rice too, this was more like a cafeteria kids meal that should have been £3.99 at most! I feel utterly ripped off at the £13.29 for what I was presented with and your profit margin on this dish will be astronomical. My friend had the vegetarian chilli option. The portion size on this was terrible too. Over £25 spent on a meal that was barely worth a fiver. Is it wonder why people aren't going out for food, when £25 spent in the supermarket on ingredients for chill beef for example could keep you going for a week.

Great service and gorgeous food

Booked in for a family meal to celebrate our mums 77th Birthday.. Our table wasn't ready when we got there so had to wait to be seated.. We all ordered our food and had to wait an hour until any of orders arrived.. A few orders arrived cold.. The gravy we received was like slightly brown discoloured water so had to ask for some thicker gravy.. A mixed grill turned up with totally black burnt sausages and couldn't be eaten and the piece of chicken he had on his plate was like a thin piece of rubbery leather and couldn't be eaten.. His words were that this is the worst mixed grill I have ever had in my life.. A children's meal turned up with the sausages also black so she couldn't eat that either.. A few cold meals which was disappointing as we did spend quite a lot of money at this sitting and it was disappointing as it was my mother's Birthday meal.. Unfortunately not a great experience and that's why I have given a low rating

Staff brilliant, food brilliant venue clean only issue was service at bar was long due to issues with till and was unable to open a tab. The staff made up for this and things break down so wouldn't put me off coming back. Overall would give 5 stars

When you walk into a pub and the food smells make you hungrier. You are onto a good thing! With a homely atmosphere, we felt welcomed with genuine friendly and helpful staff. Food was easy to order on the app. Came out quickly and was piping hot. Very tasty, great chips!!! Good prices. Recommended.

The menu has changed. They prices have increased. I had scampi and chips and yes I got 12 pieces of scampi but the portion was like a kids meal. I have been coming here a long time but it has certainly made me think to go elsewhere. Staff were good. Food came out quickly but portions are far too small now.

Very poor service, main meals came out before starter, taken back and never seen again. Ended up leaving after an hour and a quarter without having our main meal. Food not as advertised on the menu. This is the 2nd time we have had poor service.

We pre booked this before. We got seated & got told food waiting time was 30 minutes. We ordered Sunday lunch, which was £14.97 each. Food was terrible! Seasonal veg was hard not cooked peas, tasteless frozen brussel sprouts, something which was char cooked not sure if it was a carrot or a parsnip. I was unable to cut through the Yorkshire pudding. Really poor food & certainly wasn't worth what we paid for it! Won't eat here again

To be honest the food was very bland and not very tasty. No table service at all. The food was quite expensive for what you got on your plate and not very appetising. Also the drinks were very expensive. I think it’s gone down hill a lot. Also over charged on bill.

But today, everything was nice, which surprised me for Marsden's because this is unusual in my experience. There is a good team here from the cleaners to the pot washers. I had half a dozen staff interactions and they know their stuff. Cheers youth!

A nice meal in a friendly atmosphere

Presentation of food poor, blue steak(surf and turf) ordered, rare to medium received, mushroom garnish tiny, as was the grilled (meant to be grilled ) tomato. Looked like it was plated in a rush, Dessert has to be the poorest dessert I've ever had and again presentation appalling. Sherry trifle cheesecake, which to be honest, not taste of sherry, frozen berries non existent, and presentation for 5.79 looked like it had been served by a kindergarten child. Also seriously understaffed, especially with a large precooked table at 5.30pm of 24, Our table was not cleared quickly, drinks had to be ordered at the bar, so food went cold, no check back to checknif food was OK, which it wasn't. This is usually a fantastic place, food usually spot on but today makes me want to go elsewhere. Not impressed with a bill of 140.00 when the service and food has been so poor. Need to be better.......much better

Booked a meal for 16 people for my birthday on 09-01-25, I just wanted to leave a review as they made it easy to co ordinate 16 people ordering food haha. The customer service was outstanding, really helpful with my mum trying to organise the cake etc. the lady on the floor serving food was lovely, made us feel welcome had a great sense of humour and was a pleasure to deal with. I’m assuming it’s the manager behind the bar, the man who served us behind the bar and cleared our plates was great the whole way through. Had a great conversation, made us laugh and made a chaotic family birthday meal nice and easy so thank you! And lastly a massive thank you to Petr in the kitchen for always cooking a great meal ❤️

This is a review of the Christmas Day meal, so we paid a large premium for it (expected of course) have eaten here before and had good food, but sadly the Christmas Day meal was very poor and with the cost made the experience worse. My mother's starter was still frozen in the middle. I did complain and they did replace it with no fuss and an apology. For our main course the turkey was incredibly dry and the veg was not that good, some of my wife's was cold. When I went to the bar for a drink I was stood next to another customer who was also complaining of cold food. We were sat opposite the kitchen doors and it did seem quite chaotic. If I had this quality meal for a Sunday carvery I probably would not have been happy, but at £70 a head it was terrible. Sorry to say we will not be coming back. The front of house staff were as nice as could be and putting as best a face on it as could be, but obviously something badly wrong in the kitchen.

Great place, visited here the day after new year for lunch in a group of 7 adults. Food was amazing, service was friendly, polite and quick and the prices very reasonable. Unfortunately we're not local so can't visit regularly but definitely would if we could.

The food was outstanding. The table service was good. The only downside was the lady on the door who took our name was not very welcoming and seemed completely fed up.

Not impressed with the whole experience of this place, when we walked in first thing we were told when we said we wanted to eat was to get our own menu, cutlery and condiments. Soon they will want you to cook it and wash your own plates, Food was to say the least, mediocre. Definitely won’t be making a return visit.

I visited on the 17th November 24. The service I received from Taneesha was exceptional. Highly professional but with a very friendly manner. Nothing was too much trouble and she was very accommodating.

Family gathering, friendly attentive staff, food was served hot and well presented, and tasty, all at a reasonable price. Will visit again and recommend.

5 of us were quite regular, not any more. Ordered food, 1 member had a pizza and side of chips. After eating a slice of the pizza, it began to crawl... ants!!!! Watched then as the pizza deck was sanitisedbut nothing thrown away.

Booked a table for Sunday Lunch; when we arrived, we were advised it was half an hour wait! Not a great start, so ordered drinks from the bar & ordered two Beef Sunday Roasts on the QR Code. Food arrived & sizeable portions, but Beef was tough & fatty. There was no place to decline which elements you didn’t want on QR Code, so Red Cabbage & Mash wasted. Whatever happened to good old table service? No tip left as guess the QR Code doesn’t get out much!
