Never had a bad meal or experience at the Golden Eagle. Claire treats us like family every single time, always can’t do more for us. Liam’s always running around working his hardest. The rest of the team are also so welcoming.

Visited last month as part of travelling around. My friend lives in Mansfield and was staying nearby. Had the garlic pizza bread which was amazing. For main classic fish n chips lov. Looked after by Liam and Claire. I asked the chefs name and was told it was Riely.. well done all. WILL BE BACK

Great time had by the whole family, we were met at the door by the lovely Claire who showed us to our table and explained all the ways we could order. When our food came out we were all delighted with the quality of the steaks . My young son had a pizza custom made to his own requirements by Sharon and loved it. Excellent service and great food for the price, we'll definitely come backx

Rather surprised to find quiz on a Friday night in a food led pub but enjoyed our visit. Our highlight without a doubt was Alex behind the bar.. His honesty and commitment to deliver a quality of service simply made us smile outloud. Was taken aback by the high price of a standard red wine and a pint of Guinness tbh. But hey ho.... Keep up the good work Alex 👏

Food is tasty enough but the fussy eater may struggle to find something to eat

Everything was very enjoyable for a Marston's restaurant and even better with a discount voucher. I loved my spicy chilly burger. The service was quite quick following ordering.

On arrival Becky was polite welcoming chatty she taken our food order for the table and she re read back to make sure the meals was correct what we ordered food was lovely Becky checked back to see if everything was all good she couldn’t do enough for us will definitely be returning in the future. Becky is a amazing staff member to your team

Portion sizes are small. My husband ordered a mixed grill and he had 5 chips on his plate. Paid £16 for this and there was hardly anything on his plate.

Thought id try this place as not been for years and my friend had never been. We found a table and ordered are drinks and food using the app both deciding on the steak and philly wrap mine being med rare and mates medium well. Not a long wait at all till a lovely lady called Becky bought are meals we asked wich was which and to my friends disappointment hers had been done medium rear as well but was prepaid to try it and if struggling to return it which we did Becky was very appoligetic and bought a fresh one out. We also want to thank the chef Peter for being so understanding I even told the manager about are experience with Becky. WILL BE BACK

If I could give 10 stars then I would and it’s all down to the lovely girl called Becky, we come in regular and she always goes above and beyond for us on our visits, she’s a credit to the golden eagle team!! :)

Poor experience been going here for years. undercooked burger, ordered a cheese burger they brought me out a spicy burger won’t be going again

So we walked in around 7:10ish and got told there would be an hour wait for a table. I then looked online and booked a table for 7:15 whilst sat in my car and rang up to confirm and this was no problem at all! Was seated straight away?? The original blonde woman who spoke to us avoided us like the plague but was speaking to everyone around. We then used the QR code on the menu to order because it’s more convenient for us and the onion rings I’d added and paid for on my burger were not there. And it seemed impossible to flag down a staff member to tell them so I guess I’ll forgo the £1.50 I’d paid for these. The gentleman with long dark hair who did seat us and brought our drinks over though was lovely. Just overall a very mid experience and I won’t be in a rush to come back.

The food was amazing with plenty of choice and the place was spotless. The service was friendly and polite and our orders were brought out correctly, even though we made an amendment to one of the meals. We will be back! Thanks

Group of 7 people came for my daughter’s 13th birthday. All of us enjoyed our meals.

Lovely meal tonight. Staff all friendly and helpful. Special mention to Chloe, who greeted us with a smile, showed us to our table and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend a visit!

The staff at The Golden Eagle were really friendly, helpful and welcoming. The premises were clean and tidy and tables were cleared quickly once customers had left. The food was presented really well and tasted amazing. We felt very welcomed and will definitely be visiting again soon.

Great food and service. Visited last weekend as a part of a group of 16 people and food came out promptly and was all very hot. Would highly recommend. Shout out to Becky, Alex, Sam and Bobbie and who served us.

Usually really spot on here but boxing day a pre ordered menu sent over a month ago. A shambles to be honest. Turkey dinners were cold a steak that was again pre ordered well done with no stilton sauce yet it came covered in it and then they had ran out of desserts that had again been pre ordered. Heard the next table complaining too! The poor waitresses were so polite and apologetic but it isnt their fault.. Management sort it out!!

Very hard to fault anything. The food and the service was A1. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for the atmosphere was because we had been allocated seating near the pool table and this proved to be a rather noise affair with people playing on the table while we were eating our meal. I will point out that our table was pre-booked by another family member and we were just guests.

Service for food abit strange starters came out very quickly, but then left with empty plates on the table for about 20 mins, when mains eventually came out only 6 of the 7 came out and had to wait a further 5-6 mins wait for the last meal. Overall the food was nice apart from the steak which was very fatty and chewy. Also for £2 the steak dressing was just a drizzle definitely not worth £2!

The service was lovely. The food was amazing. I can’t complain and will definitely be coming back!

Helen was the star of the show for me, met us at the door with a friendly face and made us feel so welcome and looked after. Should 100% give this hard working lady a raise

Visited today for the first time since it stopped being 241 on food, we was served at the till by Helen and she recommended the fish and chips and it was absolutely delicious, so we will definitely be returning again soon.

I've been today for lunch with the family for the first time. The food was amazing, and the service, our server Helen was fantastic, nothing too much trouble. Defo recommended and we will be going again.

Good value food, lovely pint but a bit steep

As always, really lovely staff, polite and helpful. Food is always well cooked and served quickly no matter how busy the restaurant is.

Went with my wife for the steak and a drink offer, when I went to order I was told the offers were not on, due to food intolerance!!!. If so, they need to change there web site and say the offers not on.

Absolutely Terrible! Not particularly busy but was waiting an hour for 2 meals and 45 minutes for drinks that I had to chase up! When the food eventually did come, it was terrible. The naan bread was basically solid! I could have gone in to the Aldi next door, bought all the ingredients, drove home and then cooked the same 2 meals myself in less time! And it would have probably tasted better as well.

Paid £3.05 for a refillable drink. Ok that's a reasonable price but getting a refill is nearly impossible. Table service for food and drinks so it's somewhat expected to get a refill from the table...... if you are paying for a second drink it appears somewhat instantaneously getting a free refill takes 10 minutes.

Great food really enjoyed it. Fast and friendly service from bar staff and waiting staff.

Our visits are becoming a weekly treat for myself and my wife, the ultimate spicy burger is a firm favourite, the staff are always friendly & try to accommodate us when we make an impromptu visit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m a coeliac, they offer a NGCI menu which I believe is the same at all Marstons run pubs, and there is a decent enough selection of what I like to eat. I had the hunters chicken which was cooked just right. My wife had the vegetable chilli and she too enjoyed her meal. I would like to see more options available on the NGCI menu, like bigger portions and sides( mushrooms are an easy non gluten side) extra cheese or bacon for instance. And also more option to change the plate, I don’t like steak but can’t change the steak for something else on a mixed grill at Marstons pubs unfortunately. Also only 1 g/f beer, it would be nice to see more rather than Peroni being the only choice. However all that being said, the pub was warm, service was friendly and efficient, and food was good. So we will come back again, I just hope people read these and make the odd changes to make the review a 10.

Went today with my friend and had the most wonderful meal. I had lasagne my friend had chicken tikka masala. Both dishes cooked beautifully and portion sizes are large. Staff were excellent very jolly and smiley like they actually wanted to be at work. Will definitely be returning very very soon and recommending to all my friends.

Reserved table, clearly not enough staff to meet customer demand. Greeted and clearly stressed, definitely no service with a smile almost made to feel an inconvenience for turning up!. In a queue to order food which is fine but heard whilst waiting for 10 minutes before not even getting anywhere near the front for serving food is at least a 40 minute wait. Booked a table for a reason on that note we left. Very disappointing after hearing good things about this place.

Been a couple of years since been, stopped going cause was didn't enjoy everything. Very different now, nice atmosphere, very helpful friendly staff food has improved. Enjoyed the quiz night. Very accessible for a wheelchair access. Will be coming back more often now I think. Well done on the hard work to turn this place around.

Restaurant was very busy but service time was ok. Food was tasty but very small portions especially on the surf and turf which came with 4 mushrooms and a tablespoon of peas. Other than than pretty standard pub food.

Lots of variety on the menu. Adult and child friendly; great for families. Wait for food was not too long. Great selection of drinks. Staff very friendly. Place was clean, tidy and easily accessible.

Never been before never knew it was there but passed it many a time. Service brill.... food brill.... pub brill. People normally put a photo of the food before they eat but because it was so nice we decided on the empty plates. Shows how good it was. Thank you very much. We will be back 👍

Brought my sin for a 16th birthday meal. He said it was the nicest curry he had had in a very long time and I had the cowboy burger. Now a lot of burgers are same old normal burgers but I have to say it was very very nice. Simple but cooked to perfection. Thank you

The food was really below par we visited for a mother's day treat and all 3 meals were very disappointing. The size of the meals were way too small for the price. My wife's steak was grey and looked old. My burger bun was burnt the gravy that came with the burger was like water. Hardly any fries. We used to love eating here but absolutely not anymore such a shame.

Came in for a family meal tonight, celebrating my daughter’s 30th birthday. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, especially Miranda and Chloe who went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time. I can highly recommend the sirloin steak which was cooked just to my liking and rocky road sundae was delicious too.

Booking was easy and I had to make a change to the number of guests which I also found very straight forward on your website. On the day we found the premises and staff were welcoming and efficient and the the meal itself was delivered within a acceptable time and was enjoyed by all the members of our party.

Called in as a party of 4, Meal and service was average. We were told at 9.20pm that they would be closing at 10pm as it was quite. I'm sure if this was a normal landlord run pump it would be open longer. I realise after looking the day after at your opening times that this is your policy, but we will not be calling again as we prefer proper real pub hours.

Everything was as expected for the time I visited. Staff waited for us to finish our food with no pressure even though we were the only people in there before closing time. Guys behind the bar were good, and the food was out in a reasonable time. Meets the expectations of a Marstons pub.

This is my favourite place to eat! The food is amazing and I always have to have the nachos whenever I visit! And I occasionally visit for a disney quiz.

The welcome you get is always the same, friendly and happy staff. Makes you want to go everyday. Food is always piping hot and served with a smile..

Marston pubs are usually pretty good however the menu could do with an update . I noticed that although both Marston and both have the same menu, the price at golden Eagle is higher than the rushley and the rushley is much better. Also golden Eagle seem to have over charged me around £7 but didn't notice until I was home.

We thought some of the tables were a bit close together
