Sea View in Tendring

Takeaway was very tasty and the freshest we've had in a long time, Wii definitely use them again when in the area, in particular the crispy chilli beef and chicken shop suey.

Rang ahead with order, only had to wait a couple of mins for it to be completed. Absolutely lovely meal, we thoroughly enjoyed it and have no complaints

Not very tasty food, tastes and looks like processed chicken and the curry sauce was tasteless gloop. Cannot recommend.

Nice the view on this place, maybe a little cold but the period maybe was not the best at all to see a place like that.

Treated ourselves to a Chinese with a takeaway from sea view our local Chinese takeaway. Been coming here over the years but hadn't been for a while til this visit .It was good food as always and very enjoyable well cooked and tasty .will return soon

We tried, but the times or the door were not accurate. Please stick to your timetable - few things are worse than planning an evening to have it blocked like this

Although our Chinese takeaway has been from Seaview a couple of times before, we've been trying different dishes to find something we really like and would get again. On our last visit we arrived to collect our order and heard the chef in the kitchen not only coughing but bringing up his secretions. Not what I want to hear before being given my food. A lot of the dishes with sauces are generally over sweetened and sickly. However the Singapore nice noodles were enjoyable.

Popped in here as the Thai up the road was unexpectedly closed. Usual sort of menu, cooked fresh, food was ok but nothing exceptional. The decor is very dated and tired but very clean.

We originally came across this Chinese by chance, but have had a number of takeaways from there now. The food is good and their is a good choice. The staff are very good.

Ordered here for first time. Went in 5 mins early to collect and ready immediately. Although luke warm (think they stay hotter in foil trays rather than plastic containers), nice flavours and not oily like some.

Living in Wivenhoe I occasionally use Colchester Chinese takeaways and most of them are second rate. Firstly, in the last 5 years they have increased prices, added delivery charges and removed the free bottle of cola (or wine) on orders over a certain price. Secondly, the quality of food has fallen, They all use that tastless pre-cubed chicken and most of them no longer fry, fried rice - one of my pet hates. Thirdly, when you pass their establishments they look dishevelled and dirty. I have now used Sea View twice and though the premises are unassuming the quality of food has been excellent. Special fried rice is actually fried and it contains chicken that isn't tasteless uniform cubes. The sweet and sour chicken was awesome. Their prices are substantially cheaper than Colchester with most being 4 pound something rather than 5 pound something. The set meals are several pounds cheaper than in other restaurants. Unfortunately, they don't do delivery and only take cash. The staff, especially the young Chinese girl, are very friendly.
