Totally fed up with this place! Food OK, not the best but creature of habit and have used it for years on and off. Always end up going elsewhere eventually as their customer service is appalling. Takeaway orders are ALWAYS late. Every week we have the same items, this week (not for the first time) my prawn curry was missing. Rang them, expecting them to replace it, only to be virtually called a liar!! Won’t be using again!! They’ve just lost a weekly £30-£40 order over a prawn curry! Have used many more in Southend with fresher food and FAR better customer service!

This is the first time I have used this restaurant for a delivery I’ve got to say I was very impressed turned up promptly the food was hot and fantastic flavours will definitely use this restaurant again I would highly recommend this place if you’re in doubt go for it

Ordered via Just Eat at 6.18pm on a Saturday with a 50-65 minute delivery time. Within 2 minutes of the order confirmation the delivery went to 70-90 minutes. After 90 minutes I called the restaurant to be told that the food was ready and was just about to leave, it would be another 20 minutes! I cancelled the order and they cancelled it on Just Eat instantly. I would hazard a guess the order had not even be started. With so much choice available, I will not be using them again.

We waited over 2 hours for a home delivery and it was lukewarm when it arrived. We don’t live out in the sticks either! Definitely won’t use them again.

This used to be our local and go to Chinese for a takeaway. Over the last few months, the quality has gone down hill. First, we got some chicken that was still pink! Called to let them know and they didn’t even say anything. No sorry either (wasn’t expecting anything, but at least acknowledge it and apologise). And secondly, foods not really hot. Flavours aren’t there. And it’s just poor quality compared to what it used to be. We used to rave about this place to friends and tell them to order with them. But now, we don’t use them anymore. Feel free to give it a go if you want, but as it stands I wouldn’t recommend this place anymore. Unless things change, I won’t be ordering with them again

I popped in for my usual staple of a mushroom curry and some chips, which I get from other similar establiments. Here they offer the mushroom curry with either rice or egg fried rice at £5.30. If you want chips or noodles with it then an extra quid is charged (£6.30). 'The Tasty' up the road off the mushroom curry and chips for £4.90, so I am comparing. I also purchased some vegetable spring rolls (6) as I am a greedy guy. The service was good, efficient and polite. I received my order in a timely manner and took it back to nest to sample the goods. The spring rolls were overcooked and very greasy so I did not eat half of them. The mushroom curry was very nice and tasty and a good portion, slightly better than the one I had up the road the other day. However the chips were not that great and tasted strange, maybe just my own preferences, not sure. Ordering from Just Eat I notice the prices are the same as when I go in and order so that is a bonus. However the curry with the chips or noodles is only an extra 60p and not a quid. But, there is a minimum order or £10, a £3 delivery fee for orders under £35 and the obligatory 50p service charge on the app. Other people may have better experiences with their own food choices but for me I will use the other place for my boring food preferences.

Order was almost 2 hours late, with no update from the restaurant. My calls were answered then cut off immediately when calling for an update. When the food finally arrived, half of my child's meal was missing, and the food was very overcooked. Will not be ordering from here again.

We ordered a variety of food during our visit from London which we collected. The guy who took our order was friendly and attentive. However the food was not what we had expected. It was nice enough to eat the majority but it lacked a lot of flavour in our opinion.

The food was great and I really enjoyed it. It surprisingly fast and I was so excited. The delivery driver was very polite. Sea View is a great place to go.

Sorry to sayi ordered the meal for one tonight it was so disappointing. Cold food! beef chow mein was salty with beef like shoe leather,Sweet @ sour chicken balls all doughy ..i used to love all the food there but wont be ordering anymore.😥

I took a visit to Southend-on-Sea and when I tried the Sea Views Chinese and I was outstanded by the service and food they provided. I would definitely go again, but this time order more delicious food!

Highly recommend the BBQ ribs - top notch! I love the whole menu, chicken balls with sweet and sour are also awesome.

Ordered a veggie curry with egg fried rice. Picked it up, brought home- meat in the curry! They offer to deliver new one that would also come with new rice... This time, the rice had a piece of meat in it! Never eating from there again. DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DIE OR... MORE IMPORTANTLY... EAT VEGETARIAN FOOD!

Tonight we had the worst takeaway we have ever had. Firstly it took 2 hours to arrive, I had to chase twice during this time to ask how long it was going to be, only to be spoken to in a rude and disrespectful manner. To top it all the food was so disgusting it went in the bin. It looked like it had been cooked twice and was so greasy, I wouldn't even give it to the dog. I have been to the Seaview many times before but will never ever go there again.

The food is always quality & the staff are friendly, it's often the case that you cant even get through on the telephone because their take away service is that good !!

Was alway very happy with this take away and didn't mind paying that little bit extra but the order we received was not good, late/cold/soggy/salty never will I order from here.

Pedimos comida para llevar y me dijeron que sería aquí a menos de 40 minutos, a una hora y media por china con no! Cuando llegamos había un pelo largo en el mein la comida, las patatas fritas eran muy seco. Mi hija se enfermaron, del chino y estaba siendo violentamente enfermo. Nunca más se me visita/pedir comida para llevar a este lugar otra vez!!

I've been coming to this restaurant for over 40 years and I'm yet to have a dodgy meal. It never disappoints and is easy on the pocket. Great takeaway!!!

Great food and great friendly staff I'm in here far far to much partly as I'm to lazy to bother cooking but more to the point the food here is spot on and great value

Before discovering Wings this was my favourite Chinese in Southend, it still is pretty good if a recent takeaway is anything to go by.

From my experience can say that this is the best Chinese takeaway I every eat and I visited lot of different chines takeaways across Uk .. Keep going Guy's. ..

We often use the Seaview for a quick take away, normally just duck/chicken curry, chow mein and a pancake roll but also very good. Arrives within 30/40 mins and still. The lady that answers the phone is always friendly and helpful, they know your address straight away from phone nmber which is a nice touch, makes spelling road names easier! If you fancy a Chinese take away, id recommend it

Been having take aways from here for years! (About 20!) Food is consistently good- never had a bad meal, only occasional forgetting of something in the take away. Good friendly service. Will continue to enjoy!

I don't visit take-away outlets as a rule - preferring to cook at home or to eat-out at restaurants now and again. However, as I moved into my new apartment in central Southend back in May 2013 I found myself at the mercy of such food places for around a week to ten days whilst I waited for my new oven and fridge / freezer to be delivered. One of the establishments I tried was the Sea View.The Sea View did have a restaurant in operation but this is currently closed and has been for some years now. I can remember eating there around twenty years ago and the food was excellent. So, fast-forward to 2013, how did the take-away side of the business shape up?I made three trips in all over that ten day period and all I can say is that the food was 'top-notch' - not one bad meal in terms of all-round flavour and quantity. I sampled the sweet and sour prawn balls, Thai mixed vegetable chow mein, vegetarian mini spring rolls, mushroom curry, boiled rice, plain chow mein and, of course, chips and prawn crackers.The portion size of the sweet and sour balls is typically around 10 pieces at Chinese take-aways, but the Sea View will do 'half-portions' on request for those who, like myself, are eating alone. Personally, I find 5 balls more than enough for one sitting but you still get the same amount of sauce as if it were the full portion - which is useful. Special praise must go to the Thai mixed vegetable chow mein - each individual component was packed with flavour.The service is pleasant and the food is cooked pretty quickly so, if you fancy a good-quality Chinese take-away that specialises in Peking, Cantonese and Thai cuisine, then I recommend that you give the Sea View a try. They will deliver, subject to the usual minimum order value and mileage constraints.Perhaps I should give myself a break from the kitchen, once in a while.....

Always consistently goodFresh, extensive menu. The Singapore chow mein is excellent.Friendly and prompt!
