Food was nice, but took over an hour and a half to arrive

Unfortunately the food was one of the worst Chinese food takeout iv had the chicken and sweetcorn soup was cold and had no flavour the noodles where greasy lots of beef no flavour the rice was dry old and crunchy the bbq sauce was tasteless then the meat was hard lumps and it had a wet dog smell the chicken had hard lumps and was disgusting then I opened the bag of prawn crackers they were soft 0/10 for us I’m offended that we paid £25 for food that went in the bin

Often order from here. Reasonable portions, food always hot and tasty. Delivery consistently speedy and drivers always friendly. Recommend the saver set meal, it’s a life saver on a lazy day - wontons / prawn toast 10/10.

sauce was watery, and everything lacked flavour, the chow mein tasted very plain, the egg fried rice didn't have much egg and it wasn't really fried rice, could have been cooked longer. not very much meat in the dish and the sauce was watery and it had leaked all over everything inside the bag and it made a huge mess when unpacking it.

Loved the man that delivered my food was lovely 10/10 would recommend. (Food is delicious too)

Cute little takeaway restaurant, makes my favourite chicken and noodle soup because they put nice vegetables inside! Very affordable prices in comparison to others in the area and food tastes lovely :) nice and friendly staff! the food is prepared quickly and I always enjoy getting my food there!

I don't know if this place has changed hands but the last couple of times we've had food from here recently it has been simply the best. Really tasty, succulent meat, lots of it. Well done Royal Wok. We will definitely be coming back for more takeaways soon.

Peking sauce was heavily laced with green chillies! Not up to the usual standard I'm afraid.

Food was absolutely vile, “crab meat” is just processed artificial meat “seafood sticks” clumps of coconut stuck together in the “Tom yum soup” absolutely disgusting. “Pieces of squid? 1 piece of squid which was tiny. All the flavours of the “Singapore style” only stuck on piece is the rice noodles. I will never ever order from here again. Absolutely disgusting.

Second time that we have ordered from here and the food has tasted like it was reheated from the day before....shame as the food used to be really tasty.

The food was delicious however the king prawn Hong Kong style was crispy and the crispy tofu was Hong Kong style. Both were yummy but unexpected!

I’ve been ordering from this takeaway for 20 years and this evening’s experience was a let down. No idea if it’s changed hands but the quality just wasn’t there.

Ordered sweet and sour prawn balls, got chicken, just thrown the whole lot up.

The chips were fried and refried so much they were like little razors - they just tasted of oil and not enough fluffy chip. The omelette was actually tasty but served with those heart attack inducing chips it became an oily chore. My daughter had sweet and sour balls that she described as doughy & wet and unpleasant to eat because of this. Upon inspection the outside was crispy then there was an unpleasant almost uncooked doughy part. Poor.

The best Chinese in Essex, by far, I've eaten all the takeaways here, this is without question the best I've had

We ordered Crispy Duck pancake rolls. We received Veg Pancake Rolls . Not impressed .

Ordered £40 worth of takeaway at 5:30pm, after two hours we called for an update to be told it had already been delivered to a flat, we live in a house nowhere near flats, we were then told we’d receive another order within 30 mins, called again for another update, was told it will be another 25 mins. When we complained we were simply told “you know you can cancel” 3 hours £40 down and no food great experience would recommend…

ordered beef in black been sauce and egg fried rice 45 mins ok beef over cooked and chewy and lots of fat. black bean sauce been reheated to many times and tasted burnt. had to give 1 rating as not allowed to give -0. my blag rubbish sack will be complaing due this. top of my road and worst in area

Food took 1:45 minutes to get to me. Way past the estimated delivery time. You need to turn off the system when you’re too busy guys! Well, the food was thick and gelatinous when I got it and noodles were greasy. Didn’t taste amazing and went to bed feeling sick. Maybe because I ordered my dinner at 7:00 and didn’t get to eat till 9:00pm. Used to love this place but not good anymore. Gave them an extra star as I had fond memories of them and the girl on the phone said sorry.

Food used to be much better then it is now. plus 1hr 45min for a delivery is way too long. turn off the online ordering system if you cant keep time and quality to a high standard. Shame guys. you used to be great.

Quite possibly the most disappointing meal I've ordered in a fair old while. My quarter of duck came pre-shredded, yet contained so many tiny bits of bone that each mouthful was just dangerous enough to be of concern. And the Beijing 'Spicy' dishes? Don't bother. The Beijing 'Spicy' ribs aren't ribs, they're small chunks of what were likely normal sized ribs to begin with, that consist mostly of bone and gristle. The Beijing 'Spicy' chicken wings aren't wings, they're just tiny bits of chicken akin to a quarter of a chicken nugget. And both dishes are just drenched in a sweet sauce that isn't at all spicy, with a few tiny bits of chilli pepper languishing at the bottom of the tray to trick you into thinking it might at least be 'Spicy' on the way back out in the morning. The Beijing 'Spicy' chips were the final insult - so drenched in the aforementioned non-spicy sauce that one would be forgiven for thinking they were pre-boiled before the sauce was added. Delivery was early though. So there's that.

Salt & pepper mushrooms are the best!

Absolutely disgusting, ribs that are not ribs just fat, beef in mushrooms had a layer of jelly over it, like it had been reheated but obviously not properly to have jelly bits and rubbery beef, the sweet and sour chicken hong Kong style was all stuck together and not fresh at all, the plain chow mein had a funny aftertaste and the sweet and sour sauce was bright pink it was glowing on the plate 🤣 surly that's not right, end of the day we paid £34 and not even edible NEVER AGAIN

brought beef in black bean sauce yesterday beef was very chewy overcooked sauce was a very black overcooked gravy veg was raw but nice chunky pieces and food was in bag within 1 min from order what a shame this place top of my road but will not return

Sat evenning we order take away From Royal Wok we have pork chow main Was very spicy no option online so we can stop food be spicy oh i worder 2 times Beef Brocali with worc sauce the beef very hard to shue we not enjoy was terrible ate family was Angry so have to spend another £15 in pizza after i pay £24 on chinese call the shop told about the beef just put the phone down.

All the food items were tasty with the right mix of spices. But the rice in the egg rice was semi-boiled. Please boil it well next time. Some of the large chunks of broccoli and carrots were also not well-boiled. Next time, please send us small pieces of broccoli and carrots that can be easily and quickly boiled. Packaging and Delivery was good.

It wasn't the best . We usually go to blossom gardens but it's shut on a Tuesday ... House special chow mein , chips and curry sauce .. 32 £ lighter and won't be back

Hello, when I order from this restaurant Royal wook&May china. And before order its saying that need wait until 1 hour. No problem, but when I order, it was saying that need wait longer. And they come after 2 hours, this is soooo long. And when driver call me, I was already in hospital, waitting baby due. If they would be come in 1 hour, its not problem, but not 2 hours when People are hungry and wana eat before hospital. When driver call me, I said that we are at hospital, nobody not home. And can he bring food back to restaurant. I wana return my money back please, thank you. Vesma
