Service awful. Customer service non-existent. No wonder we go to swan island fish bar instead.

Absolute rip off merchant, just look at their prices!! £4.75 for chips is OBSCENE!! Just goes to show, only one customer in the place at 5.30pm on a Friday tea time, should be heaving at this time of night. It's cheper to go to the Chinese takeaway.....

My sister and I called In for our supper Saturday night. The service was excellent. Went above and beyond offering us sample of their delicious battered chips. My sister who was visiting from wales said they were the best fish and chips ever. Good portion. Delicious thank you.

£17.50 for 2 x small fish, chips and curry sauce! Everything was dry (including the curry sauce) and cold! Won’t be coming back and definitely would not recommend. Complete waste of money.

Great Chipshop been a customer for years! I think the reviews below are not a true reflection on the business as they have been going for years!! The new Greek menu is delicious, always fresh and tasty!! Would never use the Chipshop across the road as they are always very rude. I used to visit before and then changed to sea queen as the staff were much friendlier and service is always very quick! Defo the best Chippy in Burntwood!

We used to go here regularly however it's obviously been taken over by someone else as the prices have risen and the quality plus quantity has dropped considerably. There's a much better chip shop opposite that is no where near as expensive. I belive the staff in the seaqueen need some customer service training. Especially the elderly man with the mustache.

Very soggy batter on fish, seemed if it had been cooked a long time and kept warm. Used to use here many times, but last three visits it was of poor quality and will now go else where.

My boyfriend and I walked into the chippy when a female member of staff said "next please!" We started saying our order when we got rudely interrupted by her:"Have you ordered yet?" My boyfriend said he didn't know where else to order so she was prepared to take our order. I read on the menu that there were 10 chicken nuggets as 1 portion. So I said:"one portion of chicken nuggets please." she asked:"How many?" Well, it stated 10 :D. My boyfriend then said what he wanted and she only half listened and mumbled:"yeah, you have to wait"... then walked off. My boyfriend and I decided to leave without eating there. Not worth waiting lol.

Shocking rude customer service. I'm not saying all the staff are the same, but the one we were interacting with was awful. We walked in waited about 30 seconds and got called forward and we asked for what we wanted and the female who served us rudely says that we should have ordered when we arrived. We had been in less than a minute and as far as I'm aware that's what they are there for to take out order. We walked out after and walked to chip shop on Queen Street with much more polite friendly staff.

Good service even in these trying times plain and battered chips together is the best of both worlds. Highly recommend. Enough said.

Tonight we went to this fish shop. My husband went in and he ordered us the pie special which cost £5.30. In the picture I have added is the portion size. Terrible However from the specials board we thought that we was getting a small fish and small sos with this which wasn’t the case. I suggest you redo the board so it explains things easier. My husband then said to the lady that the pie specials have just cost me £5.60 each when it only costs for a bag of chips 2 pies and a pot of curry sauce around £8.50. So I think also you need to rethink your prices on the specials board. The food is not good and I will not be returning back to this fish shop.

Went here today and the shop was horrible and the food was basically inedible! Won’t go again felt so sick after eating it and my stomach is in bits🤮🤮🤮

Very nice fish and chips but I must admit I had the plain chips. The only draw back is when you ask for plenty of salt and vinegar you hardly get any extra apart from the staff raise the salt and vinegar pots higher in the air.

I don’t usually ever write a bad review even when I’ve not enjoyed a meal. But just had to share. Ordered large kebab meat & chips and a fish cake. Chips were horrible soggy! There was hardly any meat and it was terribly over cooked, thin hard lamb kebab meat and burnt chicken pieces. Even the fish cake looked like it was from lunchtime. Will never eat here again 5pm and that’s the service ! Disgusting

Just visited had cod and chips,batter on the cod was soggy so were the chips and cold obviously not fresh ,won’t be going again .

The staff are very nice and what they cook is standard fare but one can’t help feeling chip shops like these are so ‘1972’ A small dining area would be nice creating a sense of communit. How about slight diversification of the menu too? We’ve alll experienced tastier Medittatean food in the form of fish and chips.

I've got to be honest and say I think this is a fantastic chip shop. The food is trully great and has been since I was a teenager.

We had Fish and battered Chips and Kebab meat and every bit of it was lovely it's a friendly chippy and always busy so you know the food is always fresh.

Food is always great. Plenty of “meal deals” for everyone. Plus they take card payments! Always use his chippy.

I have tried the rest but this place is the best not only is the food fresh and lots the staff are so friendly

This is our local Chippy although we do have a choice pretty close. The staff are always friendly and the food is great. Feeling hungry? Try the kebab in a man bread!

I've used this chip shop since it opened. It's very good. The fish is fresh from Scotland every day and is good enough that I was disappointed with the fish I had on holiday in Whitby.

Went quite late (still open for 2 hours though) and the food was not edible. Chips were hard and cold. Curry sauce was cold and the battered sausage was so hard that you couldn’t bite it. Awful experience. Won’t return

Had a lamb kebab meat in a tray , kebab meat only fitted in a quarter of the tray drenched in chilli sauce , so couldn't eat much of it NOT great

Always had a nice meal here and staff are friendly and prices are good too. Kebabs always seem fresh and piping hot.

Not the best place for your fish and chips in the area, and staff do not seem that interested in the service side of the business. They do open 7 days though.

Food is terrible - tastes stale and often cold -, the owner and other staff are rude. Parked outside of business hours in front of the shop to withdraw money from ATM, owner came out and had a go at me but didn't say anything to the woman parked next to me who nipped to the Post Office - I'm a young female, the other woman was ~50's so I can see the discrimination here clearly. There's a reason why people go to the other fish and chip shop across the road - better food and better staff/owners. Used to come here for a particular bit of food that my child would only eat from here, but no more. The one time I park in front and don't buy - OUT OF BUSINESS HOURS - I get complained at. They will no longer get money out of me.

The Sea Queen is always great for a chippy! I love having the battered chips! It's great that they have some parking spaces outside too!

Burntwood's own Sea Queen Fish Bar is the nicest in town, food is always perfectly cooked, reasonably priced and a large menu to choose from. Staff are efficient and very personable.

Best chippy in Rubery for fish beet pricey but you get what you pay for, the staff are friendly and are happy yo serve you

Have been a few times, quality of food is really good, service is reasonable, only issue is the last couple of times I've been asked if I want salt and vinegar and they have put both on when I've said just vinegar, otherwise a consistently good chip shop

Best chippy in burntwood. Don't be tempted to cross the road when the que is out the door. It's that long for a reason quality food.

I came here unplanned as our usual chippy was shut on a Sunday night. I had large fish and a mixed kebab for hubby. I also had battered chips which haven't had before. All were gorgeous, the fish was huge and tasty as was the kebab. The battered chips were yummy. Service again very quick and friendly. I think we have found a new local chippy :)

Only called here because it was Sunday and the Swan Island was closed. Ordered haddock which was OK not as tasty as others I've had and for the price of £4,95 was rather small especially as some of it was just skin and batter. The cod looked a decent size for the same price but again had hardly any fish in places under the batter, dry and crunchy. We had a mix of plain and battered chips but they were mostly hard as they weren't cut thick enough. The mushy peas were tasty but a bit watery as if they'd been watered down. The staff aren't exactly on form struggling to remember what you've ordered. Good job the shop isn't ever that busy they'd never cope.Won't be eating here again, so much better over the road at Swan Island Fish Bar, in all areas - staffing efficiency food quality and value. Take my advice and cross the road - any day except Sunday.

Dropped in on my way back from Lichfield. Friendly staff service fast. The fish was lovely crisp batter. Chips first class. Would recommend

My local fish and chip shop I have two choices. Sea Queen or Olympus. For me there is only one choice and that's Sea Queen ~ the staff are friendly and always welcoming. The food is always hot and fresh. If you want you can sit inside as there are a couple of tables and chairs. There is even a loyalty scheme. Little things like this go along way and keep me coming back

I cannot say a bad thing about this fish and chip shop. I drive from Rugeley to come here as I haven't ever come across a better chippy. My family and I have pretty much tasted all the food here over the years and it's always so tasty and fresh. You can ring up and order your food so that it is freshly made in time for your arrival. They make sure it is wrapped up well so it is still hot for when I get home. It is in a great location with a load of parking so it's no hassle at all! Definitely recommend everybody to give it a try, I wouldn't believe you if you were disappointed.

Tasted almost everything over the years and never had anything uneatable great service owners so friendly and polite if anyone say's different I personally would not believe them

I have chips from here periodically,sometimes their chips are the best around and other times they are not so good,why can they not be consistent,and as for the fish,there isn't a chippy within ten miles radius that does a good batter with white flaky fish,they're all either soggy spongy batter or mushy bitty fish,c'mon you guys we pay good money for very poor fish and chips,don't overcook your fish,turn up your heat,less cooking time and less oil absorption

Asked for a mini fish & chips as well as a regular haddock & chips. We got a large fish & chips & what can only be described a sa whale & chips. We have never seen such a huge fish portion. Lovely crispy batter. Hot mushy peas. Friendly staff.

I found this Fish and chip shop to be spotless an the staff are very helpful and friendly. You can also pay by card and there is plenty of parking outside, it is also easy for wheel chair access. The food was lovely and fresh as well as piping hot and well wrapped up.

We were in need of a quick meal on Friday night and this place did the job. The service was quick. The staff were polite and friendly as well as having a bit of banter. The food was good. I had a pukka pie and chips. My wife had kebab meat and chips. Very generous portion at a good price.

Was driving through the area and decided to stop off at this fish shop for a quick bite to eat. I saw as advertised fresh fish so i thought i'd give it a try along with battered chips (which i've never had before). The fish was delicious and soft and could definitely taste the freshness! the chips were crunchy on the outside and very soft on the inside and tasted lovely! the service was also very quick and the portion sizes were good however the menu was difficult to read and the fish was on the pricey side but other than that i definitely recommend a visit as i know i will be next time i drive through the area.

My mother and I went to the Sea Queen to order five meals. We were served by an elderly lady who was absolutely dreadful. It took nearly forty minutes to be served, the pitta bread was in crumbs, and the meals were stone cold. We threw our meals in the bin and never been back since. Use the brand new Swan Island fish bar across the road that is truly excellent!

Love the food and the staff are lovely especially the manager she is so polite! Fast service and very reasonable pricing. Will go back again!

Bought a fish and it was dry and seemed to be from the day before! Did not expect this with the high price I was paying, Tried the battered chips and they were hard and cold. Do not recommend.

Always has been and always will be my local! The food is always great and the staff are very friendly. The fish is the best around! None of that frozen rubbish that is more commonly sold in the Midlands.
