Sea Master Fish and Chips in Reading

Sooooo slow. Lunch time. Had to wait ages. And it's expensive. Compared with other places. And it wasn't even very nice food.

Rock huss was so delicious. moist fish and crispy batter.

unfortunately, wrong order! I survived though, and I hope whoever got my order managed without their pineapple fritters.

Friendly staff and food was delicious, definitely coming again!

Best fish and chips I’ve had in Reading . Freshly served with tasty cod and non greasy chips, the portions are amazingly big, even the child menu is large. Nicely seasoned and chest chips are worth the wait. Packaged in recyclable paper and bags.

Outstanding. Great service, impressive food, good value. We moved 5 miles away and still make the journey to eat in as Sea Master really is worth the trip. I've just tried their chicken, honestly the best chip shop chicken I've eaten for years. Restaurant seating available. The staff are excellent, friendly and professional. Seriously, the best chip shop for miles. The chicken bites are wonderful. Don't forget to ask for a plate of scraps, those bits of crispy batter are that good.

Ordered a haddock via Deliveroo. Normal convention and the fact they were charging the absurd price of £8.40 made me believe that chips were included - only for me to find out they were not.

I have been a customer of Sea Masters for quite some time. Between 2010 and 2012, my family often purchased meals there.. fish & chips, onion rings, scampi, Cod roe etc. We moved further away and it is just over the last year that I have returned to purchase meals again. The food is quite good and reasonably priced, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Give them a try!

Ordered the food at 17:40 with an arrival time of 18:10 to 18:30. Food delivered at 18:36 but main issue is that the delivery driver did not come to the house directly but drove completely the other way. I have a photo of the location of the driver mid delivery north west of the chip shop and we live south east of the chip shop. If your team do multiple drop offs then please let us know. As a result the chips were overly soggy and some inedible.

My son had food from here recently and it was nice so we decided to try it as a family, even though it was further to travel than our local chip shop. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with our food on Sunday, we ordered fish and chips, sausage and chips and 2 x battered sausage and chips. The amount of chips that came with the fish was tiny, it was like a kids portion. We ended up having to pop out to the chip shop closer to us for an extra portion of chips as we didn't have enough chips for everyone! Those chips were far better and we wished we'd just got our meals from there. My mum ate two bites of her sausage and left it as she didn't like the taste. The battered sausages had hardly any batter, you could see most of the sausage. The fish was ok. Chips weren't the best, they were pale and soft and potions were small, they were much better the previous time when my son had them. Really not impressed, we won't be returning. (Unfortunately forgot to take photos with having to rush out and buy more chips).

They called me to change my drink order as they had ran out of my preferred choice. My food was delivered and my name was on the receipt but I ordered one medium cod and a large cheesy chips and I got 2 cod and a medium chips. It was nice though and I wasn't going to waste food sending it back. Delivered on time and tasty

Chips were undercooked, daughter was disappointed in the chicken nuggets & most of the chips were binned.

let down by the fact the driver didn't follow the instructions I left on the delivery note, as a result My upstairs neighbour got their hands on it and are denying they took it. so thank you driver.

Bought some food .a guy came in after me ordered only a takeaway chips . whilst waiting for 15 mins the young girl handed over my order and he grabbed and legged it .I then asked the girl what the order was she then realized she gave him my order .there wasn't much of an apology.then I asked for salt and vinegar.but only a small drizzle of vinegar she gave me .terrible service.

Really disappointed recently with the food from sea master fish and chips. For the first time we decided to sit in and eat fish and chips. When we got them, the food was on small plates and when trying to eat, the chips were falling off the plate on to the table. You pay more to eat in and it looks like you get less food than if you take out but it’s hard to keep the food you do have on the plate. Also on Saturday I decided to have a large portion of chips to share but I would say it was a large portion of chips that was also disappointing as the food from here used to be really good and I used to go here a lot but I don’t know now.

Missing food, owner put the phone down after being very rude avoid as if you don’t get your food he doesn’t want to deal with you, he swore on the phone too

Food was missing called up and said they put the food in and we said well we’re missing stuff, girl on the phone said to wait a minute heard a guy in the background say hang the phone up. Called back and they accused us of swearing, like no we didn’t we said so now we’ve got a child who has no food, he hung up again. We’ve ordered from here for years, nothing will make me order again and I’ll be telling all who I know not to as well, disgusting behaviour, and to accuse me of swearing when I’m a devout Christian, makes my blood boil. If you have no complaint they’re great but you have problems they cut you off

Quick friendly service, very tasty food and big portions. My pregnant partner was craving fish and chips and she was not disappointed. Second visit in a month as was so good the first time and somehow managed to be even better. Will be returning.

Prices have gone up but sadly the quality has gone down. The “large “ cod was disappointingly small and quite greasy and the jumbo sausage was overcooked. The mushy peas were missing so the meal was incomplete and now I will have to wait a couple of weeks for a refund on them.

Sadly lady didn't listen when I said I want to add vinegar myself and put it on the fish. Just moved to area and 1st and last time customer. Sorry. They are very busy so won't miss my customer.

Below was 5 yrs ago.... today isn't the same. Just spent £8.50 on med cod and so called chips. Last half of It went in the bin. Absolutely ridiculous quality...not up to any minimum standard at all...needs to be a one off as this place won't trade with that muck. Reheated black ends rotten chips. Fish dry all other stuff in cabinet looked awful... come on do better for the costs!!! 5* Review- Best Fish and chips in Reading... I'll go there from Lower Earley. The rest over this side ain't doing if for me... Efficient polite and chips golden,no stale oil and fish flaky white and superb batter. Portions huge and excellent prices in comparison to East Reading and beyond.. Try for yourself and judge.

Phoned up to say they have given me a spring roll. Not a curry roll to get told the new curry rolls taste like spring rolls like I don’t know the difference between a spring roll and a curry roll. Hayhoe. Won’t be going back there again

My go to chippy in Reading. The best in Reading in my opinion.

The fish was like a biscuit. Very underwhelming for a large cod. Service was quick but I would have waited longer for a better product.

went in on Monday 2/3/23 and had battered sausage & chips twice, chips fantastic as always but the sausage's were hard as a rock and very dry as though they were from sunday, my dog was not even impressed and she know the road as soon as we turn in and starts barking for her chip fix, will check next time and ask for fresh cooked, will not stop me coming back

Chips were reheated and the driver couldn’t find us so he had to call us, he blamed his sat nav it was nearly 15 minutes late but the app won’t let me change it
