Scruples Coffee House in North Dorset

Tried this little cafe today on the basis they don't serve burgers and chips! Yes, it is a little dated on decor, but you can easily overlook that with friendly staff, good food at decent prices and the sound of friendly chatter all around. Will definitely come back when next in Blandford.

First visit to this establishment with my sister to sample some coffee and lunch. Very quiet location. First the staff all very friendly. premises are very dated definitely in need of a refurbish. Nice decaf coffee food was simple but nice . Took a while to be served with our food but didn't bother us better to wait a little and not just zipped in a microwave. Only other big problem was no air cooling or air conditioning available. Just a couple of fans close to the staff. Weather was very hot outside. Definitely give scruples another visit. Due to the friendly staff.

Little cafe out of the way service was a bit slow 20 minutes for one breakfast is a bit slow the place is a bit dated and tied and needs a good deep clean

Lovely fresh food and the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The only thing i would change is i wouldnt overload the counters with lots of tat especially if noone buys the stuff it doesnt look nice its looks overcrowded and its dusty. We only ever go for the food. Honestly the counters is the only downside we love the staff and food!!!

Nice little cafe tucked away from the town centre. There is not a huge variety of food here and what they do sell is quite expensive. Food is basic quality and certainly not anything special. All of the computers they have upstairs are really old fashioned. Probably won’t be coming back.

Small friendly local cafe, great toasties with plenty of filling. Black forest coffee & hot chocolate were quirky but very tasty

Excellent food and drinks, proper cup of tea, daughter who is fussy, says pizza was amazing. Very friendly staff, definitely would recommend a visit. Lots of choices and really good prices.

Lovely little cafe and when the food finally arrived it was delicious. However I do think they could do with more staff on earlier as we had to wait nearly an hour for our breakfast due to other staff not starting till 10. That said the lady who served us was very professional but we felt very sorry for her dealing with everything alone! Not right!

Had a fantastic Roast dinner. Staff are great, friendly, and help me out the door with my wheelchair too. Thanx.x

I've been to this restaurant a few times before. The prices aren't the cheapest and the food isn't of the best quality either although its okay if you just want somewhere quick and easy for lunch. My pasta wasn't of my taste but I enjoyed the shortbread biscuit! Carbonated drinks are sold in cans rather than in a glass but are at a reasonable price.

Wow the breakfast here was fab.They did a great vegetarian one which tasted great and included fried potatoes a total gamechanger.Tucked away down a side road in Blandford forum this place is a hidden gem.Cannot wait to come back and try lunch.

in these troubling times the cafe is closed however Lorraine is cooking and delivering her lovely food to the elderly and sick in her local area. She does this with a smile and at a very good price not for profit but just to ensure her customers have a good meal She went above all expectations when it was my fathers 80th birthday and i couldn't visit due to him being in isolation. I contacted her and she made him a birthday cake and wouldn't take any money for it . She truly is a one off a lovely lady and i cant thank her enough. Diane

Smart local cafe run by friendly and efficient staff. Coffee and cake served quickly and efficiently in a very pleasant clean setting area.

As mentioned in other reviews, this place is friendly and privately owned. Far better prices and service than other fancier places. GREAT coffee. Warm and comfortable, daily newspapers, outside seating in good weather, away from traffic .... We gave up a year ago going to the big named cafes on the high street and now Scruples is our regular destination.

Took my mother into this lovely little coffee house , very clean establishment comfortable and friendly staff . We enjoyed a lovely coffee and decided to return for a light lunch. We both decided on tuna mayonnaise sandwiches, so tasty I forgot to take a photo 😮👍 Daily papers available to read and WiFi room too👍 Can’t complain about anything, will be our new coffee house from now on. Whilst visitng my aunt in Blanford, Dorset she took me to a small non descript cafe down one of the side alleys. Inside a little old fashion, little tired looking.. menu choices similar to any other little cafe apart from they do not serve chips or burgers.. However.. this little cafe had a real surprise in store for me.. a whole selection of delicious Gluten Free choices on the menu.. not just 1 type of Pizza choice you could choose any toppings from the main menu but on a 7" homemade.. yes homemade GF pizza base.. I had the mushroom and mozarella pizza and it was absoloutley delicious. The wonderful lady who was cooking explained that she makes all the GF pizza bases and Scones both fruit and plain. Plus there was a wide variety of GF pasta dishes including homemade Lasagne.. any choice of sandwich filling could come in a GF roll. Scruples is a real hidden gem of a cafe for all GF sufferers, and I would strongly recommend anyone going in and eating.

I love it here. Staff are lovely, really friendly and helpful. The food is amazing, love the fact they don’t serve fatty fried food. It’s really healthy eating at a good price. The hot drinks are amazing especially the caramel latte! Jacket potatoes are the best in town, you should do a takeaway menu! I’d be there everyday!

A basic no frills cafe but with a huge menu catering for all tastes. The food is really well cooked with good portion sizes. Staff are really friendly.

Had breakfast here. Staff really polite and friendly. But, customers are expected to bring their drinks to their table. Food is delivered to table. Had scrambled eggs on toast. Toast nice; eggs dry, over cooked, and not properly seasoned. For what I received, price reasonable. Internet good.

Lovely little cafe. My wife and I both had jacket potato with beans and cheese. It came out promptly and was very tasty! Reasonably priced too!

We called here for lunch and were greeted by friendly staff. We had the homemade quiche and all day breakfast sandwich. Both were very tasty although it was a little unexpected to get a hard boiled egg with the all day breakfast as I had expected a fried egg. The price was fair and the value good. Hygiene seemed very good even in the loos.

Outstanding- just great. Wonderful. Brill. I liked everything about the place, from the things to the other stuff. I could go on all day about some of the great stuff this place has.

Scruples isn't a trendy coffee shop but it's just right in my opinion , it serves fab coffee and well priced meals , the staff are friendly too which is a bonus these days.

Es un café, en el antiguo sentido tradicional de la palabra - formica mesas y botellas de salsa, pero tuvimos una muy buena ensalada Nicoise aquí, hechos desde cero y con una vinagreta recién preparados. buen café y una buena parada después de ir de compras en Blandford.

Estoy de acuerdo con los comentarios con respecto a falta de reformas, pero preferiría amable servicio, bien de precio agradable comida continúe. . . Ideal para el té de brunch, tarta chocolate caliente, etc. documentos de noticias para leer. El wi-fi gratuito sería una buena idea para ellos a introducir. . no me costaría mucho, como 3 g señal es inexistente. No aceptan pago en cuanto a plástico así que ir a punto de efectivo primero, min its1 a pie.

For such a small place this really is a nifty little shop. I've enjoyed everything I've had in there with no complaints - the upstairs lounge makes a good spot for a reunion over a drink and other small events!

This is a lovely little place to eat, I've been here a couple of times. The staff are friendly and helpful. They greet you with a smile, serve you with a smile and just generally make you feel welcome. The food is fantastic. But my favourite thing has got to be their hot chocolate! It's practically to die for. My only complaint is that it can be a bit hard to move inside as the place isn't huge, but that isn't their fault.

Nice soup but not much imagination with other food, all a bit dull. The cafe has not had a face lift ever since its been trading which must be nearly 20 years? Needs a really good sort out as it is very tired and looks like a 1980's time warp!
