Honestly amazing experience all round !! Went here for a family meal while up visiting from Leeds and the food was incredible ! Staff were so friendly and welcoming with sense of humour. Although the prices for everything was on the expensive end it was for sure worth it. Defos loved the chocolate bomb dessert , can't wait to come back up to Greenock to go again

As we were back in Greenock, we visited Scotts again as I really liked this restaurant. We booked a table for a 5:15pm sitting as they offer a 40% discount on booking before 5:30pm. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table and provided menus. Drinks orders were taken quickly and they arrived quickly. A bottle of Valdemoro Merlot and a bottle of Villa Pinot Grigio Blush. We ordered our starters, Woodland Mushrooms on Toast (tasted good), Chargrilled Watermelon & Whipped Feta (Super tasty dish), Classic Cullen Skink (a favourite) and a Smoked Salmon Orange & Fennel Salad (lovely flavours). The views out of the restaurant across the Clyde are wonderful, so if you have to wait a bit for food then its not the worst place to be. Our main courses were: Those who had the Coconut Chilli Chicken said it could have had more flavour. The Vietnamese Sticky Beef Salad had tons of flavour and the beef was very tender. The Catalan Fish Stew was very good Lastly, the From the Sea sharer dish looked impressive, but it lacked prawns in the Gambas pil pil and had far to many whitebait on the dish. Once we had finished our main dishes we waited quite a while before the table was cleared. We caught the eye of a staff member and it was partially cleared and then we waited again for quite a while before clearing the table was complete. We were all full, so we did not ordered deserts and asked for the bill. They provided us with the bill, but had not taken the 40% off and we had to ask for an updated bill, which they provided but very quickly like it was already printed. Maybe they just gave us the wrong bill. Overall, I would go back as I do enjoy the food and views.

Upon arrival - told to wait by member of “management” while she searched around for a till roll. Left standing there for over 5 mins - then same staff member took us to our table. Only offered one menu - NOT shown price fixed lunch menu. Staff member took our drinks order & left us. Another server took our food order - we ordered “artisan” bread for with our drinks while we waited. After 15/20 minutes another “management” member came with our “bread”and left - I had to request side plates. For Artisan bread read hard rubbery tasteless. Avoid - waste of money. Still no drinks - so asked our waitress to check - nothing had been put through. She eventually arrived with them. Long long wait for food. My mum was having Haggis, neeps & tatties but it was hunt the haggis which was tasteless. Not a good insight into Scottish food for the foreign visitors. My food Chicken Caesar Salad Burger - was VILE - chicken cremated and hard - all you could taste was charcoal & Caesar mixture tasted off. Absolutely disgusted - poor customer care, customer service, no ambience - noisy - people packed in - expensive for horrible food. My meal was removed from the bill as I complained to chef.

Came for lunch before attending the Wyllieum downstairs. Had the soup and sandwich option - sourdough ham baguette, vegetable crisps, bit of salad, and, chicken and sweetcorn soup for £11.50. While the staff were very helpful, the meal was good, but not great. Most disappointed that, when there for 1 hour, absolutely nothing was moving on the Clyde. It was not very busy - there were loads of empty tables, and this on a day when a huge cruise ship was docked at the adjoining terminal. Watch out for the 8% gratuity charge!

Ordered fish and chips fish came all nice puffed up batter but unfortunately in all honesty there was hardly any fish think it was a disgrace to charge £17.85 and they expect you to comeback again.

Had to wait ages for food and drinks. In the end, after repeated delays and pleas to waiting staff we had to leave without having received dessert. I had already paid the bill as I’d explained that we hadn’t much time left. Couldn’t even wait for refund, as three staff were crowded around the till and we were going to miss our show. Very stressful. This is the second time I’ve had incredibly slow service here and will definitely be the last.

We were celebrating my sister’s last night in Scotland- she’s been on holiday from Australia. We were looked after brilliantly by Fiona & team as always- particularly by young Andrew and Louise( I think !). Food was delicious & service was friendly, welcoming & efficient. Thanks for another great Scott’s Greenock experience.

Great food and excellent service. To be honest, the best ‘Buzzworks’ meal I’ve had for quite a while. Imaginative food, well cooked and presented.

Came to Scott’s for the first time in a large family group with children and adults and was really pleased with the experience. We were given a good space with an excellent view and accommodating a pram and high chair. The service was quick considering we were a bigger group and all the food was very good. It’s not cheap but I think the prices are pretty typical for the type establishment and the food. Staff were very friendly and helpful we had been a bit reluctant to visit before because there were a few negative reviews and we’d not always had great experiences in some of the sister establishments but would definitely come back.

The food, ambience and service were very good. Our starters were pate and cullen skink which were excellent and for main course we both had ribeye steak which was cooked perfectly. We had a good table by the window which I would recommend. The only downside is the cost - I knew it was a fairly pricey place but £120 for 2 courses, 2 drinks each and a coffee was excessive.

This is one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Went in for a family lunch, food was below par, the guys in shirts are some of the most rude staff I have encountered. They do not want to be there. Whilst the decor is excellent the whole experience was so poor and we will never be back. Please don't waste your money. My wife ended up getting quite upset after we left as the experience had been so bad.

Shown to our table and drinks and food order taken reasonably quickly. Food arrived, not so good. Chicken burger was cool and brioche bun was much, chips were very cool and went cold quickly. I had the pan seared chicken with rosemary potatoes which consisted of 3 very small potatoes. Deserts order and 2 arrived ok, the other was minus the ice cream! Got the bill and was still waiting to pay this 15mm a later. When we rose and put our coats only, staff quickly appeared, think they thought we were leaving without paying. Won’t be back anytime soon

After hearing mixed reviews from friends and reading reviews about Scotts I was very happy to be invited for lunch by ex work colleagues , So unsure as to what to do I decided to give it a visit. off I went and met up with mybold colleagues, arrived on time got seated no problems , waitress arrived took drinks order ,so far so good , 20mins later came back and took our food order a mixture of lite lunches and cheaper menus again so far so good, We're now into an hour after arrival and our food starts to arrive, other customers having arrived after us and are now happily tucking into their lunches, not us. I had ordered the Baja Fish Taco desscription sounded nice, this is where it goes down the pan, food placed in front of me consist of just two deep fried fish gougons smaller than your thumb, a cold mini wrap (not a taco) filled with a handful of shredded lettuce leaves a couple of sliced peppers of sorts place on a cold metal serving dish which should have been cleaner and a handful of French fries with chilli flakes over them ,not to forget the wedge of lime on the side all for the princely sum of £17.95 , remember this is a lunchtime menu not A l'Carte evening menu prices. Friends at the table also voiced disappointment in their meals, spoke about their poor meals / cold ingredients not happy about their experience very disappointed with the whole lunch. Safe to say I /we won't be back any time soon . Not a very good advert for a local restaurant.

Second visit this time for a special birthday. A family of 3 stuck on small table that would barely do two people. Every time we moved our legs we manage to kick each other. I had a cold steak! The fajitas were nice, the macaroni with seafood was pretty poor in taste, the garlic bread also lacked taste! Service a shambles with absolutely no attention to detail… I was offered another ladies cocktail?!! Overall definitely not hitting the mark! You’re business model needs a reset! Sorry but we don’t like paying for cold or tasteless food.

Had a really nice evening here in terms of ambience but the food was very much a mixed bag. Husband had the crab starter and the pork bao which he enjoyed, whilst I had the prawn cocktail followed by the venison. Whilst the prawns were plentiful there was unfortunately no sauce which meant I couldn't eat my starter - I'm not a fish lover but quite like prawns as long as they are in a nice cocktail sauce. My venison was very, very overcooked and pretty leathery. It tasted lovely but was seriously overdone. I didn't go to the hassle of returning since it was edible, and I was really hungry due to the lack of starter! Desserts were OK. We still had a really nice night - the restaurant is lovely for Greenock and it was busy which is good to see. Will give is another go in future but would likely order something low maintenance like macaroni or a burger.

Before I get into the granular detail, I am in complete agreement with other diners who state this establishment is now about style over substance. Buzzworks feel as though they don't need to put in the care and attention as they did when first open, but people will vote with their feet and their wallets. This, coupled with the parent company's blasé, laisse faire attitude when it comes to constructive criticism, ignoring complaints, with no redress given what so ever. Maybe if they had given their staff proper contracts instead of zero hours, then the staff on the night that we visited wouldn't have been so overstretched, and maybe have offered a standard of service with due care and attention. The heat was stifling, in fact oppressive. We had to send back two consecutive sets of wine glasses, the cutlery was dirty also. For the prices one is expected to pay for food and drink, you expect the drink of choice to be served with the correct garnish which it was not, and had to send that back also. The food is terrible , bland beyond comprehension. No salt, lemon in dishes or discernible parmesan on the so called fries, or whisky or honey in the cranachan pavlova. The pavlova was rock hard in places and the ice cream was bland and generic. The crouton with my starter ( lobster and prawn tian ) was strangely chewy in places hinting at staleness, and the starter itself, a mush of tastelessness . Trying to get someone's attention at times was ridiculous. The lady sitting beside me, who was obviously a regular had to send back her venison as was over cooked, tough and inedible. I had posted a comment on this establishment's Facebook page with no reply. I then messaged , and was promised the general manager would be in contact, that was three weeks ago. Therefore, I was left with no choice to post this accurate review on a platform that reaches beyond the realms of Inverclyde. Scotts/Buzzworks, you may think you have a captive market, but judging by the reviews on here and on other social media sites, you will end up with a rather costly mistake on your hands if cannot match your walking with your talking, and the good and rather undeserving people of Inverclyde who are left rather short changed after a visit here, will be the ones doing the walking, never to return .

Average, overpriced. Katsu curry was basic. Not a place you would go for dinner. Would go back unless it’s was for a coffee.

Classic chip shop, one of the best around. Marco has been in the business since he was a youngster, he's still there for a good reason.

Just wanted to say that Sweeney Todd was fantastic, and I’m so glad I got to see it! It’s clear how much love and work was put into this amazing production, and I’ve only just moved here from the states a few months ago, but I’ve already got a new favorite theater company. The cast was incredible, with such memorable performances across the board, and I look forward to seeing more from the Greenock Light Orchestra in the future.
