Scotts Fish & Chips in Windsor and Maidenhead

Overpriced as a terrible portion size on the chips although they were ok tasting. Also had cold items, missed items and wrong items.

Have visited before and was not disappointed this time. Ordered and Collected from the counter and was served by very pleasant and friendly staff. The food was piping hot and delicious. Will definitely be back when next in the area.

We thought we would try somewhere new. It wasn't cheap but we thought it would be worth a go for a change. Excellent servers, very polite and welcoming. But I didn't know some shops still served fish with the slimy skin on which probably explains why there was not much batter. The chips were mostly bits which were hard. Disappointing.

This is a fantastic family run fish and chip shop…serving consistently great freshly cooked food. The reviews that rubbish them for the delivery time should direct their complaints to Uber eats… not Scot’s. 🤷‍♂️

Arrived cold. Would have been lovely if it was even warm! But completely cold. I don’t know if this was the shop or delivery drivers fault. Although on the app it showed the driver doing lots of stop offs on the way which didn’t help.

We placed an order for 40 portions of fish & chips for our charity event in Fifield. The order arrived exactly on time, was piping hot and everyone remarked how good the fish was. This is the third time we have done this and each time has been just as good.

Ordered fish and chips via Uber eats. The size of the fish was unbelievably small. This was not a full fish. The chips were undercooked and the whole thing was cold as we we given one delivery time and then the driver changed and it was all pushed back over 15 mins and obviously the food was prepared for the first driver so it was all luke warm and limp. Very disappointed. I complained via Uber eats and no action was taken. Won’t be using again and I would advise to avoid them

Pathetic portions and undercooked fish and chips! Will never use again! £10.00 odd for what looks like a child’s portion! No wonder your competitors up the road the road have people queuing out the door!

I went to shop just before 10 pm. Ordered a cod and large Chips, the chips was not hot, was refried and looked dark and hard to chew .

Great chippie. Large cod was not cheap but it was huge. Great cod, great chips, great mushy peas, friendly staff. No faults.

The Service and Food from Scotts was amazing. Ordered 35 fish and chips for an event. Liam and his team were polite helpful and produced HOT food on time. Every single one was delicious. Thankyou you made the event a success and we will be doing it again.

Quick service and polite staff, the packaging kept the food warm u till I got home the food was amazing as well not too much batter but not too little. Overall 10/10!

I have been going to this chip shop for many years and always get good food and good customer service from there. Always friendly.

With Good Friday coming up, I thought I would do some food tasting because we will be having a small garden dinner gathering so fish & chips needs to be on point. Well I tried Scotts and I have to say all that hype was a disappointment! Fish was very greasy, didn’t smell very nice either, rather unusual off smell! Chips were dry and looked as if they were sitting around for a while! Still making my stomach turn! This has put me off fish & chips, I think I will have to re think the dinner menu for my guest on Friday. So disappointed!!

We are working a Bray studios and have tried most of the chip shops but Scotts is by far the tastiest one about Proper fish and chips as it should be keep it up

After a long day, driving down from Liverpool then a dsays work i felt hungry so decided on Fish & Chips. I dont know the area of Slough, where i was stopping and working so wasnt sure where to choose to buy my food. As all pubs where shut i eventually choose Scotts, a Haddock and Chips i what i choose and was very pleased with it.....i would deffo go again Thank you.

We have had fish and chips before from Scotts and it has been good but tonight was terrible. The plaice I had was covered in soggy uncooked batter, was not very large and lots of black skin (which I do not like), the chips were 'mush' and the curry sauce felt watered down. I also did not want salt and vinegar but my portion of chips had salt and vinegar on. My partner was not happy with the large haddock either - said the fish tasted 'old'. Will try the other place next time - an expensive mistake. .

I ordered fish and chips for my elderly parents yesterday lunchtime, through Just Eat, as they are big fans of this shop but can’t get out at the moment. The fish and chips were very generous portions and the fish cooked to perfection. The chips were freshly cooked too. On the occasions that we have visited the shop the staff are always friendly and we have never had fish and chips that were less than perfect.

Just had fantastic fish and chips cooked to perfection ordered earlier picked up at 6.30 really easy no waiting one in one out a credit to the community keep up the good work

Fabulous fish with incredibly tasty classic chips. A really satisfying and enjoyable feed of food, the batter was amazing, obviously using good and hot oil. I really enjoyed this food, esp at this time and felt the cod was so tasty.

We have fish and chips once or twice a month. Have tried various local chippies over the years, and for us Scotts consistently produces smashing fish, great batter and delicious chips.

My wife and I moved to the area just over a year ago and went to Scott’s by chance. What a stroke of luck, now come regularly. One person commented that portions were getting smaller, I prefer quality over quantity.

What a gem to find. We were staying at legoland and fancied chippy tea. This place is amazing. 5 minutes drive, quick friendly service. We had a real mixed order - fish, sausage, fish cakes, onion rings, pasty, chips and sides. Everything was cooked perfectly, hot and tasty. Great value for money too. Would recommend trying

Increasing prices and reducing the quality of the end product is not a good way to go. Ok, the fish is still good, but not as good as it was even six months ago. I would previously have given Scotts five stars but today's partially uncooked batter and rather manky chips makes me think that three would be more appropriate. After many years, maybe time to try somewhere else.

Por un capricho pensamos que obtendríamos pescado y papas fritas esta noche, tuve eglefino y mi pareja comió pollo ya que es intolerante al gluten. El servicio fue excelente, tuvo que esperar cinco minutos para la comida, pero al menos sabes que no se ha sentado allí durante siglos. El personal era amable y acogedor y la joven me sirvió con una sonrisa, ¿qué más se puede pedir?

No es nuestro chippie habitual, pero en nuestra última visita al Reino Unido decidimos probar Scotts. Muy contento de haberlo hecho. El personal era muy servicial y el servicio era excelente. La comida era deliciosa, especialmente el bacalao, que en mi opinión es el mejor pescado para freír. Menú encantador y buen ambiente. Bien vale la pena una visita

We popped in here on the way home from Lego land and it was great! Just what we needed after a busy day, has a good choice of food and a great kids meals.

Tonight was my second visit to Scotts and again amazing fish & chips! The batter melts in your mouth, the chips are fresh and lovely - nothing too much trouble for the staff. I sm SO pleased we discovered this jem in Windsor.

Esta es la mejor tienda de pescado y papas fritas de la zona, pero esta noche me decepcionó que me dijeran a las 8. 50 pm No pude tener mi pastel y papas habituales ya que no tenían ninguna. ¡No cierran por más de una hora y aun así me ofrecieron restos de chatarra para mi comida! ! ! No es el servicio que espero de Scott. . . la gerencia debe tener una palabra aquí con el personal de la tarde, no habría sido mucho pedir un martes por la noche. .

Este es el único lugar al que se puede ir por el mejor Fish and Chips dentro de Slough, Windsor o Maidenhead, etc. Lo único que falta es si lo hicieron Scottish Pies deep fried. Sin embargo, pueden comprarlos en Windsor Farm Shop.

Personal cálido y amable, muy buena comida (pescado de eglefino era genial) las patatas fritas no eran tan buenas, prefiero la mía crujiente por fuera y suave por dentro.

Love their white fish, very decent chips, good quality sausages, everything well cooked and a decent price from a clean kitchen with friendly staff.

im a chap over 50 and this fish and chips was the best ive ever had. Not greasy and taste was gorgeous. portion size was great and really good value for money. you must try and you wont be disappointed. well done scotts.

Vivió en Windsor muchos años, pero nunca lo intenté aquí. . . ¡Sin duda volveremos! Personal amable, servicio rápido y buena relación calidad-precio. Teníamos 2 bacalao y patatas fritas y una salchicha maltratada. Pasta ligera encantadora, no grasienta en absoluto y hermoso pescado blanco. La salsa de curry es una adición encantadora también. Se agregará a mis puntos favoritos en el área.

While staying at daughters just up the road we had cod,chips,mushy peas for 4 people it cost £33 . It was well cooked beautiful white fish nice and chunky.

The best fish and chips in windsor if you ask me! Their fish always tastes fresh and it's really cheap. Definitely worth a go!

Absolutely fantastic fish & chips. Cod Just melts in your mouth & is a great size too. My kids loved theirs too. I never saw my daughter finish a plate before. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back for more.

Nos registramos localmente para una tienda de chips después de haber tenido a legoland para algo para comer antes de nuestro viaje a casa. Fue sólo de 5 a 10 minutos del parque. La orden fue rápido y las patatas fritas eran agradables y calientes, no grasienta. Tamaño de la porción es generosa y la nuggets/salchichas y pastel era muy rico!

Por la fuerza de los otros comentarios, me compré dos de bacalao y patatas fritas. Dos porciones de tamaño regular cod parecía grande para mí y estaban cubiertas de pasta fresca. Patatas fritas, bien preparado adecuado de pescado, excelente relación calidad-precio. Volveré.

Hay una razón por la que el fish and chips es muy concurrida y la que hay en la calle está vacía. La comida es muy superior, absolutamente deliciosa y muy fresca. El personal es amable y hablador, es un maravilloso restaurante de la comunidad. No soy un amante de pescado y patatas fritas, pero estos no son grasientos, no grasos y muy bien cocinado. Sin duda un recomendado para un viernes por la noche!

Oh god their chips were awful, read the reviews thought id have a go and it was frankly very poor. The chips must of been the last batch before closure as they were hard and crispy with no softness to them whatsoever. The fishcake was just diagusting...i dont eat fish but love my fishcakes and this must of been made with a different 'smelly' fish as it left a such a strong fish taste in my mouth i felt ill. 95% of it went in the bin as no point going back to a closed shop...a waste of £4.35.

on holiday and looked on ta for good chip shop. this one looked good. spent £28 on a below average meal. the cod looked huge. but it has skin on. which we are not used to along with the batter being too thick so the inside resembled wall paper paste. so it was just stodge. looked great but under a mountain of stodge was a small ish piece of fish with skin on. the chips are small portion for what you pay. £2.95 for large chips. which watching other people's orders was not many chips for the money. on eating. the batter was very hard and crunchy. not light. fluffy and crispy. on a positive the chips were nice and so we're the mushy peas. the service was quick altho the female member of staff could barely smile and looked like she would rather be at the dentist. should have been so much better. would not return as for what they charge I expect good quality. so much went in the bin which is such a shame.

Having just visited jacks for the first time, its sad to say i will never return, the battered sausage was so over cooked it went in the bin and the smallest portion of soggy chips i have ever had, very dissapointed !!!!

Most of the time, Scott's is a great place to grab a takeaway. The chips are great when freshly cooked but, occasionally, they can be a bit long in the tooth.

Picked up a very large order (30+) today for a works function. Very impressed with the service we received, all on time and right! Food was still hot when we served it and everybody commented on how lovely it was. Will be back later in the year for the next one. Thanks.

I am looking at a good fish & chips in the Ascot, Windsor and Maidenhead area since a month now... Scotts is by far the best I had since I arrived in Berkshire. Very good chips and very tasty fish, I really liked the battered. Being French and very hard to please when it comes to food, I will definitely come back here.

Scotts is a great local place to get delicious chips with friendly service. I was so happy to see that they had gravy as well. I would definitely recommend this place to locals and visitors in the Windsor area :)

Been going to this fish and chip shop since I was a little girl, however it was called Jacks back then. I enjoyed it then and still enjoy it today and despite being another fish and chip shop closer to me, I always drive out of my way to this one. Staff are always friendly and happy to have a natter. They also have a loyalty card which you can collect money on to redeem at any time, no matter what amount, 5/5 from me!

Always fast to take an order. Fair prices and good food. Occasionally had items that have been on the warming shelf for too long but no real complaints and happy to recommend.

Whilst in the area,we decided to try out Scott's. That was a bad idea, the prices are average and portions are slightly larger than normal. However the fish was soggy and bland, it has obviously been fried in under temperature oil, the chips were the same but worse still they were burnt. Won't be going back and you'd do well to stay clear...

We get Fish and Chips about twice a month and always from Scotts. We have tried many others but Scotts consistently performs better. Try their extra large cod with large chips - it will easily do two. The staff are nice too. Highly recommend Scotts and it is usually not too difficult to park outside.

It is so nice when a restaurant is actually consistently good. David has been our waiter for all 3 visits and he has been fantastic. Wonderful waterfront location, with live music outside for dinner. Tonight I asked for their mussels, with a special spicy marinara - not on the menu. They were fantastic! Dog friendly, for well behaved dogs. Love this spot. Can't believe we didn't try it years ago.

Great chippy!Fish looked a bit 'manufactured' but it was spot on with just enough batter & loads of fab fish.Chips were equally as nice & weren't too greasy.Will be back soon.

Cannot believe there are 5 excellent reviews for this premises. Stopped here for the first time at 9.30pm tonight. I guess that they must have been closing. The fish batter was like soggy cardboard and the fish tasteles, and had obviously been sitting in the hot cabinet for a long time. The chips were so over cooked, dry, lifeless and had obviously also been sitting around in the hot tray for far too long. Overall impression - terrible waste of money and being local shall never visit this premise again and certainly will not recommend it. Unbelievable that they happily sold a customer such disgusting food.

Came in here for quick dinner on holiday. The place is very clean and shiny. The guy even gives you free chips while you wait. The fish wasnt greasy greasy the batter was sturdy so you could pick the fish up without the batter breaking. But what is with all the bags everything goes in its own bag. Overall pleasant chippy.

Bottom line is that the food is always delicious, which is the important thing. However I love the extra touches, like the kids meals in the "happy meal" style boxes with kids drink. There are quite often special offers on, particularly around lunchtime. I also love how involved they are with the local community, supporting charities and the local regiments as well as running raffles with great prizes. It's always my first choice for fish and chips!

Have been going here regularly for years as it is my local chippy. The food and service are always top notch. Would go anywhere else.
