I celebrated my birthday in this beautiful place, and had an unforgettable experience. Everything was perfect- super tasty food, delightful service and fantastic atmosphere!

Cullen skink soup totally tasteless and fillet steak was grey in colour very disappointing considering how expensive this place is the standards have unfortunately dropped ……

Amazing view and great ambience. The service was an A+. Our server was extremely patient and accommodating as one of our party has allergies. One of the nicest restaurants we've been too since moving to Scotland from Canada. We will definitely be back.

Another beautiful location place that can't cook food. Tried it a few times over the years and always very poor. Breakfasts are inedible. Luch and dinner not much better. If not for location I think it would of closed down years ago very poor.

This was our first time at Scott’s and it did not disappoint. View - amazing, beautiful sky after a gorgeous sunny day. The service was excellent and the food was perfect. We had chicken tempura and Cullen skink for starters - both were really tasty. For mains we all had the sirloin steak, medium rare with veg and onion rings on the side, they were all cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back to sample more off the menu, I highly recommend Scott’s if you haven’t tried it yet.

Absolutely loved our visit! No tables available online for the time I required however, phoned the restaurant and the girl advised that they may be able to accommodate walk in’s. Arrived at the restaurant and we were seated immediately! The ambience and the aesthetic of the restaurant was fantastic! The food was absolutely amazing! And our server Jamie was so welcoming and friendly! The host Lauren was lovely too! Great birthday treat for my mum! Thank you Scott’s South Queensferry! Will definitely be back :)

I recently visited Scotts Bar & Restaurant at Port Edgar in South Queensferry and had a fantastic experience. We started with a shared starter that was absolutely delicious—perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the view. Dining by the water with a clear sight of the iconic Forth Bridges made the meal even more special. The ambiance was relaxed, and the staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. Be very careful the manager doesn't like families, especially with children. Very unfriendly and only you can go if you have a reservation. Not recommended. Waste of your time. Avoid as a plaque.

I haven't scored the drinks as we had soft drinks but there seemed to be a good selection of ales, lagers, beers, wines and spirits at the bar.The food is delicious and well presented with something for everyone. We had Cullen Skink and the hoi sin duck for starters. Both were delicious and can be highly recommended by us. We then had the rump of lamb and beef bourgignon and again both were delicious. The lamb is served pink but can be further cooked if desired (my personal taste is trust the chef but some may prefer more cooking...)We had apple tart and Affagato for dessert and again delicious. The affagato is my favourite so far but I've not tried all the desserts...yet!! The staff are friendly, efficient and seem keen to make the visit special. Booking is all but essential during good weather but walk ups may be lucky enough to get a table. Views over the bridges and the river enhance the ambience that's already generated by the staff.

I am a frequent visitor and as an independent tour operator I bring clients to the restaurant as regularly as I can. The ambience and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. The food never disappoints.

Great decor & atmosphere. Food was a bit slow. We had the tacos which were very overpriced but nice. Also had the prawns to start which were OK.

Eight of us have just had a lovely lunch.We have been several times to this Scott’s,and it never disappoints.The staff are brilliant,nothing is too much trouble.Special mention for Tracy, this was her first day,and you would never have know.Nothing was too much trouble,all done with a lovely smile. Can’t wait for our next visit.

First time visitors, we will definitely go back! Super friendly and helpful staff, fantastic location, excellent views and beautiful interior. Extensive range of drinks and a great menu with a good range of quality fare and prices depending on what your looking for. Would be a 10 out of 10 bar one slight issue.....the cullenskink soup and our mains were warm without being piping hot. Main dishes less of a problem but a soup is supposed to be hot.........

Went to Scott's on Friday to celebrate my 44th birthday. Absolutely loved it. Location, views, atmosphere, food, attentive staff were making sure we had everything we needed - everything was just perfect. Would strongly recommend and definitely visit again.

I returned after a series of disastrous meals having not been for 2 years at least. We were a group of 3. We had the sharing platter which on the whole was lovely. It came with a large chunk of beautiful pate which she divided by 3 but there was only one small piece of sourdough to put it on. So we asked for more bread. We will then given a loaf of bread which we were charges £7 or £8 pounds for. What is the expectation of what you should do with the pate? No crackers and not enough bread. I had a ribeye steak for main. The quality was awful. I have complained about the quality of the meat in the past when 3 out of 4 of us couldnt eat it and it hadn't improved. It was full of inedible sinew. More of the steak went back on my plate than I ate. Very dissapointing again. Plus notes. Service was good, wine was lovely and the atmosphere was lovely. Just never seem to get it 100% right with the food.

My wife booked a table for 4 a family meal as it was my birthday on the 24th and we treated ourselves to 3 course meal, with the kids picking between the childrens menu and the adult menu and the 3 of us had fish & chips and my wife had a salmon Caesar salad. The young lady who served our table was fantastic and a credit to the restaurant I wish I had asked her name as she deserves recognition for the service. Overall a great night and our 1st visit with great food with great surroundings and nice atmosphere for a midweek dinner. Well Done and will be back again.

Here with a friend for the £20 2 course deal. Great food - I had the soup and mushroom taco while my friend had the tempura and fish and chips. Recommended.

A superb view, with the added bonus of the sunset. The prices match the decor, the service follows, the bistronomic cuisine, the dishes are copious. A small downside for the wine list, the bias is international, meh.... and French wines! Barely 5. A very good time. PS: For your information, Chianti is a region of Italy. Error on the card?

There is really nowhere better to spend a birthday. Scotts Bar & Restaurant in South Queensferry has everything going for it: excellent food, friendly service and exceptional views. It isn't everyday you can admire the fourth bridges whilst tucking into a 3 course meal! I had heard great things about Scotts from family & friends so thought why not celebrate my 27th birthday in style, I had left it a little late to book online but after a quick phone call to the restaurant they booked us in for 7:30pm the following day. We were down from Aberdeen visiting the area and this pitstop was needed after a full on day of shopping. The location is something special, as soon as you park up the views hit you in an instant, the restaurant itself is so fresh and modern with a nautical theming throughout. They have seating available overlooking the bridges (which require booking in advance as you can expect), the staff are so friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make your visit something special. There is also free on site parking and seating available outside which on the 2 or 3 days of Scottish summer would be spectacular. If you enjoy an array of different foods, the menu is perfect. There is something for every taste and with generous portion sizes that don't break the bank, there is no way you don't want to add Scotts to your to-do list. I have to say the chipotle chicken tacos and the mac & cheese are definitely ones to try, you just cant get enough of them. If it's a special occasion, date night or just a catch up with the family don't miss out on this South Queensferry gem!

Place was busy but not noisy. The service was excellent and waiting staff all efficient and pleasant. The food was extremely tasty with a decent portion size and the price for all of the above was spot on.

Booked a table for 2 for my partners Birthday dinner. Lovely window table and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Staff are friendly. When booking it asks if you are celebrating anything and again when we arrived I stated it was my partners birthday celebration. My partner received a friendly birthday congratulation and handshake from the waiter however no dessert as mentioned in previous reviews from guests celebrating a birthday which was disappointing. Maybe it was because the birthday was 2 days before but we couldn't get booked for the day of his birthday. The food itself was "ok" nothing special.

Busy restaurant with pleasant staff - great food and a good choice available from a varied menu.

It worked. It was not memorable. Fortunately there was a 30 to 40% off the food bill. At non-discounted prices I would say Scott is overpriced.

Food in Scotts as always very good unfortunately this time we had to wait over 40 min for dessert which spoils the positive feelings about the whole experience especially when people around you order exactly the same dessert later than you and get it in 5 min. So as I wrote earlier the food was excellent unfortunately today for the service and the overall experience I do not give a very high opinion and I will definitely not return to this restaurant too soon

My second lunch here this year and it was every bit as good as the first time. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was fresh, tasty and good portion sizes. When I mentioned it was my dad's birthday lunch, they brought him a lovely dessert. Another huge plus point for me, is that you can hear yourself talk, unlike so many places in town!

Wow what a great place, had a lovely breakfast here the service is with a smile and very quick. Some great service from the very attentive staff. Beautiful setting and beautiful views outside my only complaint would be that we couldn't sit by the window as half of the restaurant was closed. Would definitely recommend.

First time visiting Scott’s won’t be the last, food was spectacular, we were looked after by a lovely front of house girl who ensured my. Father’s drink was served just as he likes. I’m sorry I didn’t get her name, however she is from Moldova and is a credit to your establishment.

Really enjoyed our first visit to Scotts. The only thing that I was disappointed about was not getting roast beef. We arrived at 2pm on Sunday and i thought i had seen that roast beef dinners were available on Sundays but our menu didn't show them.Later, i saw roast beef dinners going to another table. I asked our waitress how to order the roast beef on a future visit but she had little idea and i still do not know when the roast beef is served or how to order it.

I want to say that the staff and the food were outstanding! We had a wedding dinner booked back on the 30.01 and I couldn’t be happier. We have provided the names of the guests, name cards and the waitresses knew exactly what each guest is having. The food was 10/10 so amazing. I’ve received so much help with booking, any questions on the day etc. We were able to drop off our cake and flowers the day of the dinner in the morning. Everyone was super helpful. This will definitely become our spot ❤️

We took my sister and her husband for lunch there on Saturday. It was their Xmas present and was the first opportunity when we could all make it. It was very busy and sadly as last time the service was very slow. We actually gave up waiting to pay the bill and headed to the till at the bar so we could leave. The decor and ambience was and always is terrific particularly with the view of the bridges. I even think that it is value for money in terms of prices on the menu. However, the service and now the food has deteriorated in my opinion. I ordered the Korean Cod that came with rice and steamed vegetables. The cod in my view was slightly undercooked however edible and actually tasty. The vegetables on the other hand (pak choi and tenderstem broccoli) were over cooked to the degree that they were inedible to me. It was like an explosion of lukewarm water in your mouth. To be fair to the waitress when she checked that everything was okay offered to get more vegetables for me after having explained what happens during the steaming process and that it should be soft and watery. I declined as there would be no way, given that it was so busy, that it would be coming out of the kitchen anytime soon. Those in our party said that their food was okay. Have to say I was disappointed with this as it was a treat and had hoped for a better review than that from them as I was the one that had raved about the place. They did redeem themselves with the desserts which we all enjoyed. Feels like there is a staffing issue at Scotts. Not in terms of attitude because everyone is so lovely. They just do not seem to have enough on. I hope they get it sorted soon. Sadly will not be making recommendations......too much pressure.

Service was abysmal throughout. Took ages to take drinks order. Also, a long time for food to be served. Starters came at different times. Some of our party were finished before others had received theirs. When main courses arrived, one was stone cold and had to be replaced which meant more waiting time. At the end of the meal we expressed our discontent and received a good discount which was appreciated. We were there over 3 hours to have two courses. Life is too short. Have been many times to Scotts and enjoyed the experience. Seems to be going downhill.

First time to Scott’s!! Beautiful restaurant great views lovely staff!! I ordered Cullen skink my friend had fish and chips then sticky toffee pudding, unfortunately Cullen skink was a bit bland which was a shame as there was I good amount of smoked haddock ! My friend enjoyed his fish but could not eat chips as they were HUGE which I’m a bit annoyed at now as I’ve looked at reviews and all other pic of chips are normal size??? And not blown away with sticky toffee pudding! Such a shame, not sure if I’ll be back

Love Scott's for a special occasion and have come often over the years but found this visit to be most underwhelming. The service was generally a bit slow, the starters were confused we got extra of something and delayed the actual starter we ordered. For mains I wouldn't recommend the venison it was on the tough side and as a portion wasn't massive. We ordered sides that we had to chase twice for and by the time one came we'd all finished our meal and there wasn't any type of apology or acknowledgement. My sticky toffee pudding wasn't sticky and whether they forgot to sauce it or thought they had done enough is not clear, on asking they provided more sauce which did improve it but it was a served on the room temp/cold side. Feedback around the table was the chicken main was tasty but the burger was very dry. Cocktails were tasty. Also the disabled access door didn't open when button pressed on the outside.

Have written 2 previous reviws for here. The first was awful the second was excellent and this one is average. 4 different meals 2 good and 2 poor. 1 dis h was 80% batter! 1 dish the meat quantity was very low! The other 2 were quite good. Starters all decent. The prices versus quantity and quality are looney. Over the top - just not that good. Staff and venuse excellent.

I was left a bit disappointed by your attention to details, when I made the reservation I selected the “Birthday” occasion and then I left a note asking if it’s possible to have a small cake made for the birthday person, there was no communication back so I phoned and you said you can’t make a cake but you can make some kind of dessert and then at the restaurant nothing happened, you totally forgot and ironically at a table next to our table you brought a cake with small firework and staff signing happy birthday…why is there even an option to select what’s the occasion if you don’t pay attention to that? Apart of this everything else was really nice, food was really tasty and the restaurant is beautiful inside and it has a great view.

Lamb was undercooked and Hot Salmon and King Prawn Gratin, had very little Salmon and Prawns it was mainly potato and peas. Then after that they tried to overcharge us. Thought Scott's was meant to be a good place to eay but to be honest we will never be going here again.

The restaurant is located on the waterfront, with a view of the Three Bridges The restaurant is large, with outdoor and indoor locations. It's quite windy outdoors, but the indoor floor is high, the seats are comfortable, and you can also overlook the seaside scenery. Come for lunch with friends Ordered soup, fish and pasta The food is of good quality. The weather was very nice on the day I came. I felt comfortable while watching the scenery while eating. It’s a pity that I didn’t drink alcohol when I drove the car that day. Otherwise, it would be more enjoyable

Good bits: The staff was accommodating to allergies and other dietary needs although the selection was very limited. The person who served us was very lovely. The rest: Food was okay, the vegan dessert very disappointing, couldn’t even finish it. Service was super slow and things such as drinks kept getting forgotten by the staff. Ambience was very weird, music did not fit the vibe and was super loud and decor was kinda all over the place. They were also out of a bunch of stuff so don’t expect to get the full menu of food or drinks at your selection. They served drinks with very random garnishes such as an espresso martini topped with a slice of fruit.

Took my wife here for a birthday celebration, heard a lot about the establishment and we were looking forward to the visit. Plus points were the views are stunning, looking over the three bridges, and despite the poor weather, it didn't disappoint. It would be really nice on a summer's day. Sadly that was the highlight. Service was terrible, we arrived at 4pm and left at 7pm as there was an hour wait between our starter and mains. I asked a few times and was told "5 mins" or "it's on the way" . To be fair the manager explained after the meal was honest with the explanation and gave us a discount. Food , when it arrived , was fine but not what I would describe as stunning. Poor experience overall. Would I go back ? Probably not !

Went for my birthday with family I ordered Beef Burginion what arrived was a piece of beef that was more like a piece of leather with a part mushroom on top there was no onions a piece of carrot two florets of broccoli and the potato tasted like instant the gravy was dark like marmite and had the taste of it I did tell the waitress but nothing then ordered a coffee and a dessert the coffee arrived after 5 mins and was finished and we are still waiting for the dessert. Which came after another 10 mins It was an expensive birthday meal and to be honest I would have been better at a fast food restaurant. The lady at the till said just phone head office and you might get a voucher Well no thanks I don’t want people waste money I do know food I trained in the food industry

Both of us ordered steaks, one filet and one sirloin. Medium rare and medium well done. My medium well steak, was still even pinker than my wife's and clearly still oozing red liquid. They apologised, took it away and cooked me a fresh one, exactly as I would expect. The problem was they offered free desserts that we were charged for and the second steak was equally under cooked on the inside despite asking for it to be cooked more this time if needed. The male manager that delt with the complaint was pleasant just clearly didn't communicate anything properly and the waitresses honestly looked like they couldn't be bothered from the moment we arrived. The table behind I heard commenting on "her sour face" so it wasn't just myself thinking that of the front facing staff. Have been before and it was great, this time I was massively disappointed.

Absolutely amazing fantastic service gorgeous food such a relaxed atmosphere lovely surroundings beautiful interior ,so relaxing amazing staff and view to die for outside ,would highly recommend restaurant for all ages families everyone would enjoy this amazing place ( my new restaurant when I am in fife as I live in highlands ) :-)

Food was great, but service was very slow. It was a busy evening to be fair and also the Christmas season, but occasionally you'd wave a waiter down, they stare at you and walk right past.

Had a Fish and chips and Cullen Skink soup, Fish and Chips was excellent but The soup was apostasy rubbish yes rubbish, it had some herbs some chopped potato ,single cream and smoked flavoured test runny like water , I have eaten this Soup many many times in different Restaurants bu this one was a super Rubbish. We came along to Scott's for our works Christmas night, there was 14 of our team and we could not be happier with the service, quality of food and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant - not to mention the stunning views!. We had an absaloutley fantastic night at Scotts and have already thinking about booking for our night out next Christmas! Massive thank you to all the waiters / waitresses, chefs and bar staff - you were absaloutley incredible and really made our staff night special! Highly highly recommend Scott's to anybody looking for a great night whether this be drinks in the beautiful bar or for a truly amazing meal in the restaurant.

We came as a table of ten. The food overall was nice but one meal was wrong, then served cold when corrected. 2 different bottles of red wine unavailable. Service was generally okay but we had to keep asking for more drinks and even water for the table. Price wasn't too bad.
