Orocco Pier in Edinburgh, City of

On entry told to pick the table we preferred, thought this was fabulous. Jackets off and waited 10 minutes before anyone approached to ask if we wanted drinks. Noticing other tables waiting attention from the servers but blonde girl too busy chatting to her colleague at the bar. Noting Antico was quiet and very little customers during this time. Eventually the table managed to get their bill but waited too long and went to the bar to pay. Another couple arrived and did not get served and ordered their own drinks at the bar. Stepped up a notch by blonde girl asking if we wanted another drink. We had to ask for our food menus. Food arrived in timely manner and was good, shame about the next step which shocked us. Table booked for 5pm albeit we were early. At 5.40pm we were told by a waiter “you only have this table until 5.45pm please can you move to the table next to you”. My husband then queried the request as Antico was empty at this point (plenty other tables) and said “what we have 5 minutes to move for a table booked at 5pm…45 minutes”. At this point adamant we should move and we refused to do so but requested the bill. The bill then came with the 2 for 1 January deal not applied and the service charge. We asked for the bill to be amended and due to the whole experience asked for the service charge to be removed. At no point did the staff address the issue and apologise. Very disappointing as we love Orocco Pier and hope this is a one off service level experience. We live locally and venture into Samphire regularly.

Enjoyable long lunch, Christmas set menu, great value. Coley dish tasty and cooked well. Nice creme brulee too. Washed down with some decent wine and a superb view over the Forth made for a nice afternoon.

Nice view and decor fine. Food very disappointing. My husband had a seafood curry which was truly awful, a vinegary taste and chewy seafood. Pork belly ok, but not anything to shout about. It was edible.

Just had a Christmas lunch there today. It was very nice food and excellent value for money. Staff were very helpful.

dado un buen asiento de la ventana con una vista . un poco ajustado pero ok . pescado y patatas fritas eran promedio sin quejas reales, pero sentía que era una pequeña porción . Tuve nachos que me decepcionaron mucho. nachos secos de plato grande con un poco de queso quacamole y salsa. El vino era cálido y toda la experiencia era solo un poco plana. no nos ofrecieron ningún condimento tenía que pedir vinagre. Son los pequeños toques y por el precio que esperaba más. Las fichas eran increíbles.

Mi hermano y yo vinimos a tomar un café. El personal era acogedor y amable - nos mostró a una mesa para cuatro al lado de la ventana, para que pudiéramos disfrutar de la hermosa vista bajo el sol. El servicio era genial y el café delicioso. Nos gustó tanto que volvimos más tarde para almorzar. Una vez más, el personal era servicial acerca de una bonita mesa lejos de la entrada y el bar. Deliciosamente frío Sauvignon blanc chileno y una muy buena sopa del día. También compartimos una porción de patatas fritas y eran fantásticos - crujiente por fuera y esponjoso por dentro. En conjunto, una gran experiencia en un día en el que, por tristes razones personales, apreciamos especialmente que nos cuidaran! Gracias.

First stay here following the recommendations seen on Google. The recommendations are correct. The staff are helpful polite and friendly. The food in the Samphire restaurant is very good. The gentleman serving us apologised for the 20 min wait for the food to be cooked fresh. Not a problem at all. The room is small but clean, feels like new, bathroom is perfect with a decent shower. Bed is firm, but it's so difficult for a bed to be like your own. A very good night's sleep though. A selection of pillow firm or soft which is very good and unusual. As for the views, you expect a view of the Forth bridges but sometimes expectations are not matched by reality. Room 3 exceeded our expectations. We'll be back

Enjoyed the beautiful view, delicious and very affordable food, friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Booked for lunch declared ,shellfish allergy, was told. That they could not guarantee cross contamination asked how serious the allergy was ,I have an episode pen. Was told that someone should have contacted me about it ,they did not, waste of a journey and paying for parking. Will not be back. If you have any allergies avoid this place.

We went for dinner and have the fish of the day and the lamb. Both were excellent.

Had a superb meal on Friday night in the Semphire restaurant. Booked for our Sunday lunch which was excellent. The staff could not have given us better service.

Have stayed many times and unfortunately the room let it down for us this time won't hurry back. 7am we were wakened by the music from the beer garden had to close the window in an already small room that we were given. Paying over £250 I expected to get a better sized room although the view was beautiful of the water and bridge. Disappointed this time sorry bed wasn't great either with dents in the mattress not going to rush back let down for us this time. Sorry....

Had to write a review as was very impressed with my overnight stay . I’ve eaten before here but never stayed and it didn’t disappoint. My daughter and I arrived early and we were able to have our room . All the staff both in reception and in the bar/restaurant were welcoming and friendly. Enjoyed our meal at night and the breakfast.

I have rarely felt comfortable in a hotel so quickly! Very comfortably furnished, great minibar and nice staff. Nothing is missing. The view from the two adjacent restaurants is unique. I'll definitely come back :)

I had breakfast and dinner here. The food was delicious. Service was good and not rushed. It's a beautiful view and I wanted to take it all in so I was glad they didn't try to get me out the door. Drinks were good as well. Even the non alcoholic cocktails.

Fabulous hotel with a wonderful restaurant and separate bar area. Rooms are excellent, food is delicious and staff very friendly. A perfect way to end a tour of Scotland before you catch your flight back home.

We spent just one night here, but enjoyed it so much I had to leave a review, the restaurant was really nice, food was great, people really friendly..the room was on the 3rd floor and they took our luggage up there for us ( 2 older ladies ;).. wonderful view of the water and bridges, clean, great shower, everything we needed..we went to the new "dune" bakery just 5 doors down and had the most exquisite pastries we have ever had, would definitely stay here again, quaint, clean and fun!

Cutest boutique hotel! We booked directly on the website and saved about $20 (in comparison to Expedia), with a better room & breakfast included. The breakfast is GREAT, it's not the little continental breakfast Americans typically have. Everyone was kind, and the bed is SO comfortable! I liked the bluetooth speaker in the room, and appreciated that they had a fan we could use! (No AC in the hotel, but we didn't need it!). They are in a great location. 11/10 recommend.

Booked this restaurant due to having knowledge of the area as a surprise to the people I was with for the view! Great location and stunning view in an evening when the bridges are lit up. Food was really good, atmosphere great and we didn’t feel rushed by any of the staff or got the impression they needed our table. We were happily able to remain and have drinks after dinner. Close to the airport, with a breathtaking view of the Fort Bridge (ideal for a sunset to contemplate during dinner) Unfortunately cramped room and bathroom, and horribly slow restaurant service.

Difficult where to start on how superb the experience was at Orocco Pier. Arrived without an appointment and on a day when a wedding was taking place the bar and restaurant was extremely busy but the staff worked like a well oiled machine and the attention to detail and our needs were second to none. Food was delicious and well prepared. When in South Queensferry a must visit for all kinds of occasions and reasons already looking forward to the next time 💟😊

Went for dinner with family. They accommodated for my 4 year old and 8 month old. Food was amazing and staff were attentive and kind. Higly recommend.

Amazing little boutique hotel, close enough to Edinburgh but feels a million miles away! The rooms that have a sea view are stunning. We had dinner and breakfast as part of our package and all the food was beautiful.

What an absolute gem of a hotel - Beth, and her boyfriend stand out, as does the lad with the curly hair, sorry, I forget his name. Basically the staff make this hotel what it is, so so friendly and some where I would return to again and again. Scottish hospitality as it should be, amazing, by far the finest available, an absolute credit to its owners.

Absolutely wonderful overnight stay at this hotel. Hotel gorgeous, room lovely with all facilities views amazing of the bridges. Would highly recommend a stay here always get a room facing onto the bridges well worth it. We also had a family dinner last night in the restaurant was excellent choice and quality was fabulous. I got a voucher for my sister's Christmas and this place did not disappoint! The views are exceptional, the food is out of this world and the staff are lovely. I can't wait to visit again! Highly recommended!

So my parents went to dinner last night at Orocco Pier to celebrate my mums birthday. Unfortunately it was a night my mum wishes NOT to remember. As my dad couldn't remember if he'd booked a bottle of wine to be on the table for arrival I said I'd give them a call. I phoned and spoke to the woman in the restaurant and as it happened he had booked it. She assured me this would be on the table for their arrival and then she also double checked the time they had booked for. The wine was NOT on the table for them arriving after I had been reassured. There were mistakes with their drinks orders and food orders!! What a mess! This was ...WAS their favourite spot to go but don't just rely on the scenery and think you can ignore basic customer service. Sort your staff out or I'm sure customers like my parents will find somewhere else to go.
