We were saying nearby and Sconser Lodge was recommended to us for dinner. It is a small boutique style hotel, nice bar area with a roaring fire and a beautiful dinning room. We ate there 3 nights in a row and can recommend it.

Staying at Moll and booked in for family meal. Very relaxed and beautiful outlook. The staff are very friendly and laid back. Menu limited but we all got what we wanted. The lamb was superb it was rather expensive but worth it for a nice experience.

We went here on the recommendation of the owners of the B&B where we were staying and it ended up being a total disappointment, and an expensive one at that. The restaurant is in the lodge, and it is very nicely located, especially if you are lucky enough to get a table with a view of the lake. There are only four choices on the menu, and they are all very uncreative. It is also expensive, everything was about 50% more than it would be at another restaurant. And it probably tasted worse than most. Even the french fries ("chips") were greasy, and if there is anything the British know how to cook is chips. I had the steak, it was very tough, and you don't even get a steak knife. It probably didn't help that when we first sat down our tap water came with lots of floaties in it. Our waittress was very gracious about replacing it though when we pointed this out. And to be honest, my daghter got the leg of lamb and it was pretty good. Which is probably the reason I am giving this a rating of "2" and not of "1".

The chef is obviously a very competent cook but kitchen did not pay attention to details. The main contents of the meal were excellent but granary bread does not mop up mussel juice, and extremely tired salad as a garnish just will not do.

Don't bother stopping if you're looking for a morning coffee or afternoon tea en route. I called in one morning, no-one to be seen, even after calling for service. Later that week I dropped by for tea, only to be told that 'We don't serve drinks during the day'. Fine. Perhaps it was because I was a cyclist and not dressed appropriately. Called in at the golf club around the corner, they were only too happy to serve me...

We stayed overnight on our way back from a week in Uist. The hotel is right on the waterfront, a short ferry trip from Raasay, with a spectacular view. The rooms are huge, clean and nicely furnished, the owner is very friendly and the food is excellent, with a Scottish twist, naturally! Stay there if you want a good night's sleep!

The food is superb, especially if you appreciate high quality fresh fish, such as halibut, trout, langoustines etc, all cooked in a non-fussy way. Steak and venison lovely too. Breakfast excellent. Note: there are more reviews of the food under the Hotel listing for Sconser Lodge, which is where my fuller review is.

E' il ristorante dell' hotel/b&b. Ambiente molto curato, atmosfera tranquilla e piacevole. Locale assolutamente consigliato!

Sconser on the Isle of Skye is not a big place, so it was a delight to discover the Sconser Lodge Hotel. We have not stayed there, but booked in for dinner. The menu offers a great choice of meals with a Scottish flavour, but a more modern twist than you'd expect from the charming Victorian exterior and oak-panelled interior. Great views across to Raasay from the waterside dining room too. Friendly service and very relaxed atmosphere. Probably better suited to couples than families, if I am honest.

We only visited for a meal and this, to me, was a typical 'old fashioned' Scottish hostelry. Smoking log fire, not spotlessly clean, but warm and homely. Nice view over the loch with seals swimming by, and the food was good.

We were staying at the lodge, so eating there the first night was a no-brainer, but after the excellent meals, made from fresh local ingredients.. We had to adjust our schedule to eat there again. Non residents (people who aren't staying at the lodge) are welcome, but do call ahead, so they can set a table for you! This is a small, friendly, and welcoming place to dine, with a selection of excellent craft beers on tap, as well as some very nice whisky.

We stayed at the Sconser for only one night, but we'd had dinner there once before and returned on the strength of that. The owners are very warm & friendly, the bar has a lovely atmosphere with a peat fire, and the views out the window are stunning. The food was as good as we'd remembered and they catered well for my husband who is almost vegan (we did give them warning). Our room was a little bit tatty & very cold overnight, but otherwise everything was gresat, including the fab breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I were looking for a nice restaurant on the Isle of Skye, near Dunan and were lucky enough to find this amazing hotel / restaurant. This is a very nice old building along the sea. The scenery is just magical... We decided to eat in the bar room, the atmosphere was very Scottish, friendly, genuine. The food is home made and just delicious. We had langoustines and the sole - everything was amazingly fresh! For pudding, we had the banoffee pie, just fantastic... And the price was really reasonnable...This is a place not to miss!

We stayed two nights and were not disappointed. The room had a spectacular view and the bed was comfortable. The material condition of the room was a bit tatty (peeling paper, some beat up furnishings and no hot water in the sink), but certainly acceptable. The resturaunt is very good. Had a better experience than we did at The Three Chimneys. Great food and wonderfully attentive service.

This was a lovely experience, the food was not ' swimming in grease' as i saw from another review, but it was great to see that the more recent reviews have been validated. We went here for my birthday at the end of october and honestly everything was really lovely . the service was great they were so friendly from the getgo, the charcuterie board we had for starter was very filling and diverse just wish they would have told us what the cheeses were ( i think the brie was from tain though it was familair) but thats a minor niggle that we had no info. the main courses were fab the skin on chips were AMAZING , and its a dog friendly place which we loved , we dont have dogs but we did get to pet some which made our day !

We know the Tongue area very well, and like to eat locally, so it was obvious we would decide to eat at the Craggan, and i'm happy we did! The restaurant area is welcoming and clean, staff friendly, and the car park was easy even with a big van. The only problem was choosing from the menu! So many tasty things - i wish we had more time to visit again.. All three of us enjoyed our food, and we shared everything so i know it was all delicious. Thank you for making a rather wet evening so special..

I recently had the pleasure of spending a delightful day at Dores Inn, and I still find myself reminiscing about the experience six months later. Nestled along the shores of the iconic Loch Ness, this charming inn offers a perfect blend of stunning views, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely ambiance that sets the tone for a relaxing visit. The inn has ample seating, both indoors and outdoors, making it easy to find a cozy spot to enjoy the picturesque scenery. We opted for an outside table, and it turned out to be the best decision of the day. The views of the loch were absolutely breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for our meal. Speaking of the meal, I must rave about the food—simply sublime! I usually find coleslaw unappealing, but Dores Inn's homemade version was a game changer. It was fresh, flavorful, and complemented our dishes beautifully. Every bite was a testament to the culinary care that goes into their offerings. After our satisfying meal, we joined a Rib-Boat journey on the loch, which was an exhilarating way to experience the surroundings. The thrill of speeding across the water, combined with the breathtaking views of the loch and its mythical charm, made for an unforgettable adventure. As a memento of our day, I couldn't resist purchasing one of their handmade crochet teddies of Nessie. It's now a cherished keepsake that brings back fond memories of our visit. To wrap up our day, we took a leisurely walk along the shoreline. The tranquility of the loch, coupled with the stunning natural beauty surrounding us, was the perfect ending to a fantastic day. Overall, Dores Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. From the lovely atmosphere and great views to the delectable food and friendly service, it’s a place I highly recommend. If you're looking for an exceptional day out near Loch Ness, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this gem. I still think about that wonderful day, and I can’t wait to return!
