Great food and service. Definitely be back.

Called in on way past as I was hungry. Food was typical pub grub, nice enough but nothing special. Can't comment on the atmosphere because it was mid day and only a few people in, but it was a warm, friendly welcome from the staff who are attentive and pleasant.

Come here with the family all the time. Brilliant place and really nice food

Great place with lovely food. Was quick, warm and the tables are nicely spaced out. Really like the aesthetics of the building inside and out and the staff were very friendly. Will come back again. :)

This is a pub/restaurant with an extremely enjoyable atmosphere/decor, one of the best I have found. I cannot recommend it high enough on all levels. Thoroughly enjoyable - thank you Scawsby Mill

Just called in on the way back from shopping for a quick bite to eat. From the moment we came in John and Mel were amazing and so welcoming. Food is unreal. Will definitely be coming back.

Went here just before Christmas for a meal with family. All the food was really good, I wish I had had the pie as that looked amazing. I had the chicken skewer which was a bit of a let down in all honesty as the chicken was tasteless. However, I have not let this detract from my review as everything else was good. I would have gave 5 stars, but I haven't as it was quite cold in there. The staff were amazing and were earning their corn, and I'm sure they were lovely and warm rushed off their feet. It's hard to believe this place is part of a chain as it is full of character and charm and the meals are not served like chain pubs. The kids ice cream sundae was a real HIT with the nippers, they have shut up about them. 🍦 🍨 Go and try it out for yourself and you won't be disappointed.

Booked this a few days ago haven’t been in quite awhile but was deffo worth the visit. The servers Brook & MIA were very friendly and smiling during our time here. Worth a visit next time you are close by

I’m never the type to leave bad reviews however the service at this restaurant was awful. It’s a shame because we chose it to celebrate my mums 60th birthday and one lady in particular was really rude, service was non existent. Empty plates were left on our table for 50 minutes at this point I had to ask if we could order desserts to which the lady sighed as if me asking this was an inconvenience, baring in mind this was a Monday evening, not very busy we were the only large group in. We waited about 40 minutes from ordering our mains to actually getting them and some of the food was cold as if it had been sat waiting around in the kitchen for no reason. The brunette girl, we could hear swearing, shouting in the back also came through the doors by abruptly kicking her leg at it for it to open. Really unprofessional and we just didn’t feel very welcome overall. Wanted to ask if the restaurant would bring out my mums birthday cake with a candle to surprise her but I didn’t fancy getting sighed and eye rolled at again. To say we spent a lot of money at this pub, the food wasn’t great either. Would not revisit, really disappointed, wouldn’t recommend

Well I must say nice little pub with very friendly staff very polite .the food was very good ..would recommend. The only issue was not from staff but customers who came in and gave us funny looks as we have a autistic child and one lady was very good at sly dirty looks .. hope she enjoyed her meal

Great ambience. Enjoyable food. Service started good but quickly went downhill. Asked for bill and waited for nearly 40mins to get it. We had a table of 6 kids and adults, great value and variety for all. Shame about the ending which is our memory of the night

Appalling table service, floor staff are extremely rude and blunt with customers, however the managers are lovely and approachable. The waiting times on being served are very long and even the time waiting for the bill is outrageous. This kind of experience is very off putting especially when it was daily quiet.

Been here a few times with family, feels very cosy and the food was lovely, we really enjoyed it.

Service poor, food just ok but expensive compared to other pubs in the area. Would much prefer Marr Lodge or better still Glasshouse in Wath. 2 sizzling gammon with all the trimmings, £ 4.50 each compared to £10 each at Scawsby.

This was what I ordered.... Grilled Salmon Fillet Topped with tail on king prawns with roasted baby potatoes, roasted butternut squash, char-grilled peppers and courgettes, drizzled with parsley & garlic dressing. £15.99 This is what I was served... Nice grilled salmon and king prawns, no roasted baby potatoes (did ask and they said they are mixed in, left it at that, but there wasn't one), one small chunk of butternut squash, flavourless oil drenched peppers n courgettes. Left very hungry, needing carbs. Didn't have the energy to complain. Don't let this put you off thought...we have been several times with no complaints.

Ordered three meals one was a trio Sunday lunch ,only two meats came ,everything cold ,vegetable rock hard, Beef very tough. wife’s Sunday dinner was cold as well she could not cut a beef too tough. very disappointing in quality of food.

Excellent restaurant, we were driving home to Stafford and called in , hoping they would have a table for two. We waited one minute and then was found a lovely table near to a radiator, which was fantastic as it was -5! The service was quick and friendly, even though they were extremely busy, and the food cooked to perfection. The cost for two meals together with drinks was extremely low and we were delighted. If we are passing we would certainly call again.

Great place for food and drinks

Must have been one of the nicest steak dinners I’ve had in a long time this evening. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I can only give it 5 stars. What a stark contrast from the days where it was Fayre and Square under different ownership where everything was microwaved.

Lovely place to eat. Decor and the features are well designed. Food was excellent and everyone one of our party of 10 was impressed. Service by Jessica was brilliant, interacting with the little ones and adults a like. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be back.

Every Sunday without fail. Sunday roast for myself, the trio of course just to be on the right side of the cut. From my experience, no matter where you eat, it’s very rare they get it right every time. If it’s not the quality of the food, it’s the cost of the food, poor accommodation. Shitty staff, you know the usual sort of things we have all mostly experienced in life. But I can now say with confidence, from being a regular diner, these guys nail it almost 99.9% of the time in every way possible! Excellent service all around. But my fave has to be Jessica. She is very professional and friendly and really makes me and the family feel welcome. Keep up the good work guys!

We came for a meal today and usually the food is spot on (we came last week and ordered the exact same thing which was perfect, couldn’t complain) however we came today and not once did we get asked if our food was okay ( which it wasn’t, the steak was 50% fat and the rest was unchewable. The what was meant to be the rosemary fries were just normal and the customer service just wasn’t up to standard. Our table was getting cleaned half way through our meal making us feel rushed and uncomfortable. The entire time staff were shouting over at each other gossiping infront of everyone trying to eat. When we payed we didn’t get asked how we would like to pay like you would usually, instead the card machine was just placed on the table without us being told how much was to be payed or asked of our food was okay like what happened with the rest of the customers who were leaving as we came in. The staff were clearly in a rush to leave (which I understand having worked in busy restaurants and customer service before) but I don’t think it is necessary to make us feel unwelcomed while trying to eat our food.

Had a lovely visit with family, party of 6 + dog. Friendly staff and served promptly. All food was delivered quickly after ordering all warm and tasty. Lovely place and atmosphere and dogs are welcome which is a bonus. Will be back.

This was an amazing place we stopped for food, with our husky. The bar man was amazing and lovely. Every one was so friendly the food was fantastic. My steak sandwich was amazing and my partna had the pie and the gravy was out of this world . The place it self was fantastic beautiful out side seating with heaters and blankets if cold. I wish I was a local as I would eat hear alot.

Called in for a couple of drinks after a day out and enjoyed ourselves in the clean, friendly, well staffed pub. Drinks are reasonably priced - as is the food which we never tried on this occasion. We will return!

Lovely meal at scawsby mill .they had a special deal on .I got a steak cooked perfectly as I requested .gorgeous new potatoes and veg . Even the side salad was different beautifully presented and totally delicious. My compliments to the chef .The barstaff are lovely as were the other staff too , lady took our drinks to our table whilst we were paying , without being asked wow five star service .lovely atmosphere and a very enjoyable experience. Booked in at short notice as we were let down by somewhere else. We were already travelling that way to meet our son from Leeds and wanted somewhere where we could meet up regularly. I'm so pleased they fitted the 3 of us in with our 2 dogs. Food was good, service was excellent and the atmosphere great. Thank you and see you again soon.

A great find. We normally meet up with friends at the Mar Lodge but unfortunately this is currently closed. I passed Scawsby Mill on the way into Doncaster a couple of weeks ago. Everything was brilliant from the attentive staff who were very friendly without being overpowering. The country pub style decor is really to our liking and very well done. The menu was extensive and well priced. I had the small fish and chips choice off the lunchtime menu with a desert at the reduced rate, the fish was first class and portion size was perfect. We booked a table for 1ish, sat chatting after eating and did not feel pressured to leave.

Always a lovely meal at Scawsby Mill. I usually visit every couple of months with a friend. I can highly recommend the Katsu Chicken! Tasty and included in the 2 x main & drink for £20 which is even better :) I’ll be visiting again very soon!

After visiting here a few times over the past year, to enjoy the fish and chips, our most recent visit on 25/09 was a different experience. The main large fish and chips was now apalling. Appalling quality of cod which seems to have halved in size over the past year. flimsy batter and a child size portion of fries - so small i had to order a side portion (which was also incredibly small). Service was very transactional (very different from our previous visits) and the jangling jailer keys of the manager (?) made for a horrendous atmosphere. Not to mention the barking dogs and, looking around at the clientele, the piped music was kind of innapropriate. The forks on the table were also dirty. Bad service and food quality compared to other visits. Here's my review from 1 year ago: Excellent food. very much enjoyed the Fish & Chips and the Apple crumble with custard. Staff were excellent and very attentive. What a big change. very dissapointed.

We love this restaurant/ pub! We live quite close and we often like to go for lunch with the pooch included! This las lovely environment which has a dog friendly area inside and also has a garden which is nice to sit in when it’s dry and not too cold! Water provided for the pup aswell! Food is great and the price is about average in the area! Best to book in advance during busier times such as weekends and after school hours! Order from the table is available which is always nice! Lovely staff and lovely place.

Great alternative to service stations for lunch as not far from A1M

The food was great, I personally tried the hot honey chicken burger which was amazing, and the outdoor area looked great with the usage of the old stables and the service was great and any questions we had were answered in a professional manner. Only problem I faced was with the mocktail drink section, as it was very limited, but as a Greene King I understand that majority of the menu isn't controlled by the individuals of the restaurant.

I have always used this place for food but never again on Tuesday we went orderd food my meats came out stone cold took it back then my partner picked his chicken up and under neath was stone cold aswell brought 2 more meals out and it was then burnt to crisp I also orderd a onion nest which was also burnt to a crisp so I will not be going back the staff was great but the food wasnt

First time visit. First impression was a little off-putting when we walked through the car park to see a fella urinating by the kitchen bins near the beer garden whilst kids were nearby. Mentioned this to the waitress. This aside, the staff were the keenest, most helpful and quickest ever! The food and prices are great. Definitely a revisit in the future

Me and my family have come from Australia visiting family nearby, ive been here 6-7 times since I’ve arrived. The food is lovely they can accommodate big family’s and haven’t had one complaint about food out of 13 people, the staff is loving and welcoming especially the manager. Good prices too will definitely see us again 🙌🙌
