Great place to eat. Our second time going and the food was perfect again, staff still warm and friendly. Wasn't too busy and didn't need a booking

Lovely food, attentive staff, pleasant atmosphere

Had a lovely first visit to Scawsby Mill, didn't book as we were just looking for somewhere for lunch, the service and food was very good, prices too, we would definitely recommend it, you won't be disappointed, it's a real treat.

Food was absolutely stunning. There was a few of us so different meals ordered and no complaints about any! The staff were fantastic and even the chef came and had a chat. Definitely be visiting again

Went at lunchtime with some work colleagues, waited a while for our food to come. I had the fish and chips.. the fish was well overdone. The batter was hard and very dark in colour, maybe they cooked it then didn't time the others well who knows. unfortunately my food was not good. I have been told this place is really nice but not this time. will go again and try as reviews are good but this visit unfortunately again wasn't great, sorry

Nice place, can get busy, staff are often very busy so hard to call them over. The decor is nice and the food tasted nice, plenty of parking and clean toilets 🚻. Can pay cash or card

We went today for a family celebration and I hadn’t booked our dog in . The owner was so lovely and sorted us a perfect table to allow our dog in . I can honestly say it was the most gorgeous tasty and large portioned meal I’ve had for a very long time. The roasts are amazing ! I didn’t want the sharing platter of desserts to end it was so wonderful. Great value for money and lovely friendly owners. Thank you!!!! Can’t wait to go back .

Been here a couple of times since it’s changed ownership. The first thing that stands out is how welcomed you are (top class banter). Had food on every occasion and it’s always cooked to perfection. If you want somewhere where you’ll feel welcomed, have a good meal and a good pint I would definitely recommended

Rude loud obnoxious staff, stay clear!

Nice venue just the bar service was poor. Asked for a pint of coke, money taken and passed a half empty 22oz glass. Commented that I'd asked for a pint and was then told after payment that the soft drinks are pre measured and the gaping space was for the ice. Barstaff was unapologettic. Says a lot about a company when it doesn't trust its staff enough with softdrinks to let then measure it themselves when the cost of producing it was pennies. Its like when McDonald's pinch your chip box to undeserve, Cadburys keep downsizing chocolate bars or doritos serve you half a bag of air....all penny wise pound foolish Corp policy. Otherwise could have been quite nice if the service had been nicer.

Solid Christmas dinner, from the festive menu. Reasonably priced for what it was too. Friendly, attentive staff but not too attentive, which can be annoying.

Christmas lunch food was good but three meals ordered off the main menu were well below par.

There wasn't any skin on the skin on fries ??

Had mixed grill. Very poor. Chicken dry. Gammon dry. A really boring plate of food.

Ordered steak and chips the chips were hard and steak very dry but the burger and chips no complaint

Went for breakfast this morning. Absolutely terrible. Sausages undercooked, bacon wafer thin and burnt, poached egg massively overcooked and the tomato tasted like fish. I think it was off. Would never go back. Really really disappointed

Raw meat on cooked meat it was bleeding 😩 on top basic food hygiene dnt cross contamination God help whats going on back of house please be aware 🙏 no surprise it was empty £44.06 English pounds hard earned money WASTED dnt bother!!!! Food poisoning posable!!!

Went to the Scawsby Mill on 6th of December, was greeted with a friendly person who sat us at a table for two and took a drinks order, we then sat waiting for our food order to be taken which I would say took half an hour. A waitress then came to take our food order and We were told that because they were busy there would be a 45 minute wait which is fine,It’s Christmas! we never saw the waitress again and a couple that came in after us was then given their food, which we thought was very strange, so we did ask a waitress where our food was and was told it would be here soon. My husband then went to the bar to get a drink and she asked him what table he was sat at because she couldn’t find us so alarm bells rang then as he said to her we are still waiting for our food which she went to find out where it was, a waitress, then came and said that our food order hadn’t gone through, and if we would like to order again which we refused. Personally there wasn’t enough staff on duty there were two waitresses to serve the whole of the pub and restaurant when my husband went to pay for the drink. He then asked to speak to the manager as this wasn’t good enough, and he was told, I am the manager, I will look into it! No apology!! The only apology we got was from a waitress that wasn’t actually our waitress. So all in all, not a good experience for us and we won’t be back.

My partner and I called in mid afternoon, we were greeted warmly by all members of staff. Lovely atmosphere, we both had the ultimate burger and shared a delicious bottle of Shiraz. Would highly recommend.

Dogs in the restaurant, the food I personally ate didn't match the description but was nice all the same. However my mum ordered a steak with some sauce which came in a pot and although the steak wasn't cooked right the first time the metal pot the sause came in wasn't washed properly and left a horrible soapy taste so she sent the food back. Overpriced for what it is in my opinion. The only good thing I can say about this place is the staff are very friendly and it has a warm and cosy atmosphere to it and if it wasn't for the poor food experience this review would have got 5 stars.

Nice welcoming place. Showed to table and then waited ages for our order to be taken, including drinks order. Ordered 2 kids meals which came out before ours, which we asked for as kids were hungry. We ordered 2 tomahawk steaks and were told 45mins before they would be ready, which wasn't an issue. The steaks were amazing, so much meat. The sauce on both were wrong, but as it was in a pot, it was changed easily. Heard a few customer complaining about wrong orders and 1 table asked to be served while we were there so looks like they were waiting ages like us. Ordered kids ice cream, again took ages to come and waitress didn't know what table it was for.

First time going there, I was amazed by the stone and wood buildings. If you want to try the best beef, try this one even the burger is lovely. Affordable prices, tasty food, very nice atmosphere inside and outside romantic too. Fresh Guinness 😁 lovely cocktails. Waitresses and bartender very lovely, ask anything and can give you honest advices. Would love to see cheese platter earlier than Christmas, would enjoy with a change of drink.

Went in for a meal with my fiance n my father in laws carer befriender as a treat forallthat she does for him as he has alzheimer's/ the steak was great and done just right all the food we enjoyed thanks

Lovely place to stop for s meal and drink. Staff very very welcoming. Paying by card requires a tipping outlet to tip staff for great friendly service. Will be back.

Came here for food, ordered 12oz rump with mint potatoes, mushroom topper and peppercorn sauce, I like steak rare and it definitely wasn't rare or even medium rare, which is disappointing...potatoes lacked in mint, I wasn't the only one, my family's food was disappointing too. Service was good and atmosphere was lovely just a shame about food.

First time visiting the food was amazing we didn't book just turned up sat outside with the dogs. Very friendly staff and a friendly atmosphere very dog accommodating too. We went round brodsworth country park first (5 minutes down the road) with the dogs to work up an appetite. Plenty of parking and very clean facilities 😁

Always have a good meal at Scawsby Mill, nice cheap food and tastes great. Staff were brilliant, just the right amount of attentive (see updated review) Update - ordered a childs meal (recently had a gastric sleeve and even children's meals can be too big), for one of the staff to respond with "well I didn't see any children with you when you walked in, so you can't have a children's meal.

A busy reasonably priced pub /restaurant that serves a good range of pub food. Service is good. Staff are friendly and helpfull.

Huge menu. Nice food. Got a table without booking. Nice interior and lovely beer garden. Food brought out super fast. Wine wasn't great quality. Had to ask for a drink twice we got it. A late lunch for 5. Very hot day. Sat on the decking. Service seemed a little slow but the food was very good. Lovely place nice lawn. Pity a dog owner didn't clear up after the dog left a gift. 2 1/2 year old playing on the grass. Will be back. Thanx

Handy for the A1, excellent staff and reasonably priced. Otherwise little to recommend as food is middling. Better than McDonald's, though.

Had a date night with my Husband and absolutely loved the food the decor and everything. We were served by a lovely young woman called Becca, she was very kind and provided an amazing service. Thanks to her and the team we had a wonderful meal.

Nothing too much trouble. lovely night had by all. (Sorry about the balloons on the ceiling....large ladder required!) Would absolutely recommend!! 👍

We went foe a walk in the area and seen this place on the map so thought we would call for a drink friendly staff off the bat started getting busy and the food smelt amazing so decided to see if there was space but only wanted to eat in the resturant so asked but it was really busy we said we don't mind waiting as we will be there for a little while 15mins or so and they had a table for us food was lovely. My better half got a burger that came out wrong the young girl said sorry that was my fault she immediately went to the kitchen not too long after came with the bits that were ordered couldn't fault the service or food will be back again

Decent food, nice pint and selection

"Rainbow Grain Salad" for £12 was half a bag of salad from Aldi chucked in a bowl. I went and bought the exact same thing for £1.50 after leaving. Luckily the lady behind the bar was really nice about it and we got our money back.

Lovely atmosphere, tasty food and the staff are friendly and helpful

Good food and service. Sometimes a little empty during the day so the atmosphere is lacking. We enjoyed the steak sandwich which was good, just missing a side salad in my opinion. Overall good for a casual lunch or dinner.

Really do like the place been loads of times never had a bad meal yet. The accept our dogs. They have craft beer on top. The service is very good.

Didnt even know this place existed. What an eye opener. Fantastic food. Great staff. Prices to suit every budget and great relaxed surroundings. Will definitely visit again when next in the area.
