Scarisbrick Bridge Tearoom in West Lancashire

Had a terrific lunch here, a really memorable experience. It was a beautiful sunny day, we sat at the rear of the cafe, outside, looking across the lovely, well kept marina and all the boats. The tables were spotless, the food was faultless and what really stood out was the quality of each and every one of the staff/servers that we interacted with. So pleasant and polite, very professional and efficient too. They really elevated our experience to the next level and should be applauded for it. We will definitely return.

This was our first trip to the Tearooms , I phoned and booked a table for breakfast , we were left sat for 15 minutes, being told several times that “Lucy” another waitress would be on her way , I eventually asked the young man could I order with him , I was told only drinks , we eventually got our food after being sat for 50 minutes, I asked was this wait normal , the reply was that the chef was off so the owner was cooking , food was ok but really not worth the wait or the price tag , when paying the bill we where asked was everything ok , I said about the 50 minute wait to be met with the response “ it was actually 38 minutes “ , wow no apology just a correction in how long it took for our meal to arrive , it was 50 minutes in total from drinks to meal , awful response to a customer , we shall return to look at the mariner but not to this soulless cafe

As a frequent visitor to the tea rooms the service is always A1 and the food always nicely presented and tastes amazing. Plenty of options to suit anyone’s tastebuds! A great cake selection too. Defo worth a visit and would recommend booking as it does get very busy.

Visited Sunday for lunch. Two couples. We had booked two days before as we have been previously and know it gets busy. We had four lovely meals with excellent, friendly service at a reasonable price. We will continue to visit and highly recommend

I've been before for coffee, cake and it's fine for that. The food produce used here is at the cheap end of the market. Very poor nutritional food. If that's not a concern of yours then this is a nice friendly place to go.

Booked after a friend’s recommendation for ten of us to go today to celebrate Mothers Day a week early. Our table was all ready for us and the service was very prompt. Great choice of food and our orders were taken quickly and efficiently with nothing being too much trouble, even though it was getting very busy. Everyone of us cleared our plates and then we all went to sit outside in the sunshine over looking the Marina. My mum even managed a large slice of coffee and walnut cake later on. Location beautiful, Service and staff friendly and superb, Food amazing. Can’t wait to go back. 👍🏼

This place is defo a hidden gem! The food is always fresh and tasty with a menu to suit all. It can get very busy which is testament to how good the place is. All the staff are really friendly and provide a great service 🙌 We will return again, and again, and again!

A warm welcome awaits with great food to revive one after walking along the glorious tow path. Must mention the freshly baked cakes and scones - hard to say no as they are all delish!

Came here today for lunch with a friend we sat outside in the sunshine overlooking the marina we both had the Home Cooked quiche with a salad and soft drink the quiche was delicious didn't have a cake but they looked great.The staff were very friendly it was my first visit but will definitely be coming again.I noticed from pictures that they had umbrellas up but their wasn't any today which would have been handy with it being hot

We have been here a few times after a walk on the canal with the dog. Always lovely food, great choice and fresh and hot. Staff are friendly and helpful lovely outside seating in a sunny day overlooking the marina. I had taken the wrong debit card with me and realised I couldn’t pay, no fuss the staff sent me a link to pay when I got home, excellent service.

Met friends here today having.not been for many years. Great breakfast menu at a good price and it was clearly popular but if there’s homemade cake on offer I’ll always go for that first! So I did - huge piece of caramel shortbread that was delicious. Friends had tiffin and breakfast menu. All plates cleaned so assume it was good too. It does get busy so you maybe need to book for lunch. Outside tables overlooking the boats on marina which is a great and calming view.

Lovely place. You have the option of eating inside or outside on the marina beside the canal boats. Staff are friendly and professional. Lots of returning customers (like myself) which speaks volumes. Food is very good- with some tasty vegan options. Very nice to visit on a sunny day.

My friend and I have been here twice, today was our third visit and we were not disappointed Being a lovely day we sat outside and had a sharing board for two, and what a wonderful selection it was. The staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. We will certainly be back

Have driven passed here many times and decided to take the kids after a morning in Ormskirk. So glad we did. The hospitality was first class. The staff seemed to know every customer or made you feel like they did if you weren't a regular. The food was excellent, especially for the kids. I had a large full English and it certainly was large (unlike some places). It was also lovely, especially the sausages. Topped it off with some lovely ice creams whilst watching the boats and ducks on the marina. Will certainly be back.

As a frequent visitor to the tea rooms, Wayne, Sarah and the staff here always offer a great friendly service and the food is 100% on point - good quality, well presented and always tasty. Great value for money 🙌

A nice hidden gem of a place. Food was lovely and most of the staff were friendly but the service was soooooo slow. We waited 25 mins for our order to be taken and a further 15 mins to just get our drinks to the table. It’s also quite expensive for what you get.

Once again a superb meal at one of our favourite dining places. The Hot Board for two was delicious. Thank you to the extremely friendly staff.

Felt very unwelcome this morning! The staff were officious and unable (unwilling) to open the gate that leads from the canal to the cafe. Coffee was drinkable and the toilets were clean. The lovely view of the marina spoilt by grumpiness!!!!!!

We visited the tea room for the first time during a walk along the towpath. I was so impressed with the clear information they gave about using the tea room safely, all staff were wearing visors and it was table service only. Enjoyed lunch today! Food excellent. Whole place safe and secure Covid wise, key for me as I have been shielding, and this was my first venture to eat inside a restaurant. Hygiene standards are very high. All staff wearing face shields are friendly and very helpful. Will be back.

Was out for a drive to collect some lawn seed and decided to stop off for lunch. Have been to the Marina before but a long time ago. My wife and I were extremely impressed with the way in which they have complied with the Covid regulations and the standard of staff. Excellent all round. The food was good as well. Ideal place for a stop off. Even better if you can get there on a sunny day and enjoy the views from outside on the terrace. Well done. You put some places we have been to since COVID to shame. Will definitely not leave as long before we go back.

So happy tearoom is open again. Lovely and bright inside and very friendly service. Bacon barmcake was delicious with very generous portion of bacon. Lots of people enjoying eating outside in the sunshine too. One way system and excellent hygiene measures.

Took my Dad and daughter here for a drink and cake. Sat in the shade at the back overlooking the Marina which was lovely. We all had a milkshake and cake and the EOHO scheme made it a very reasonable trip out.

It's actually more than a tearoom. It's a lovely place to have a good meal as well, at a decent price. Well worth a visit.

Wayne and his wonderful team always make a trip to the tearoom a pretty special occasion. Wait-on staff, especially Olivia, are really friendly with their service. Coffee and tea are really good. I have found in the past that the breakfast is rather high priced, although it was well-cooked. As other reviewers have noted, the cafe does tend to get very busy frequently, but it is certainly a very popular place and well-liked

Tearoom is in a very pleasant setting on the marina and does get busy at times. A reasonable choice of food. Had soup and bloomer which was very nice but could have done with been served hotter. When I mentioned this on leaving I was told to ask for it to be served hotter which I will do if I call again.

It is unusual nowadays not to be disapointed occasionally when eating out. We have been eating or drinking here, at least once a week, for a few years now and have never been disappointed. The food and service is always excellent. Scones are baked every day and are always fresh but my favourite is Wayne's tea bread.Apart from being able to sit and view the in the marina, the friendly and prompt service make this a lovely place for a casual meal or to meet friends for coffee or tea.

Four of us went for the full Monty afternoon tea extravaganza and it was absolutely superb. It is exciting, different and delicious. Try it, or you'll be missing a wonderful event.

Came here for lunch with my wife and parents-in-law. The tea room was packed but with a really nice, cosy atmosphere. Lovely view onto the marina.My wife and I went halves on the rarebit and the platter. Both were amazing! The chutney under the cheese of the rarebit was so tasty, with raisins and spices. The platter was huge, with cheese, ham, salad, coleslaw, pork pie, several pickles, chunky piece of bread; all great. The portion sizes are very generous and all four of us enjoyed all our food.We were planning on having cake for afters because the cakes on show looked amazing, including a Lancashire tea cake. But we were just too full. It gives us a reason to come back anyway!The staff were friendly as well, helpful and happy to have a quick chat.Great place, completely unexpected treasure!

Visited for a friend’s birthday and had afternoon tea. What a spread! Choice of cold drink or soup, fried chicken and chips, scampi and chips, sandwiches, pork pie, sausage roll, scones with jam and cream, cake and Elton mess! As well as tea or coffee. All delicious though had to take some home in boxes thoughtfully provided. Lovely atmosphere and view of boats in marina. Will be back!

The last time I wrote about this tea room was last year and since then have been back many times ,we went again today and took family with us while there we were discussing about our visits we have made here over the years and our opinion was the place only gets better,the staff are the friendliest you could meet,the atmosphere is exactly what you want in a tea room,we noticed the tables were cleaned as soon as they were vacant and as always the food was excellent with plenty of choice. This is a place to have a really nice meal and if like us you then go into Southport for a walk around make sure you call in on the way back for your dessert which are very good, Give this place a try you won’t be disappointed.

Visited here on the way home from southport, the place is very nice and clean and the surroundings are quite and peaceful. The food and drinks was very good, only thing I'd say that I found was that the lady working behind the counter didn't seem very friendly and I noticed she was the same with the few customers in front of me also, maybe it just wasn't her day. Overall its a lovely place to visit and get refreshments.

Having moored at the marina we have used the tearoom just for tea and coffee and have always found it to be a very popular destination as it is always busy 7 days a week .

How wonderful it is to be treated with such warmth and Friendliness ans as someone who actually mattered. We went last night to the monthly Friday Fish night (Not only fish I had the Burger special which was Special) t the food is excellent, the staff are friendly, attentive, and helpful, no rushing and very patient they also understand the menu which is a very pleasant change.

My partner, me and father in law had a wonderful English breakfast. Ten out of ten. The setting is lovely and the staff were very pleasant. We couldn't fault a thing.

Ordered the boatmans lunch and have to say that myself and my friend were not disappointed. All the ingredients ie: salad pie cheese ham bread and pickles were fresh and beautifully presented. Have been to the tea room on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed.

Stunning surroundings with lovely people. Purchased a tray of expensive drinks to find we had been duped with the gin. £4.95 for a pink gin or a bloom. It comes complete with tonic in a bottle or a can at 6%. My sister was not happy.

Group of 7 of us came here for afternoon tea, all of us agreed that this was the best we've had. Good selection on offer - chips and scampi/chicken, pies, sausage rolls and sandwiches as well as delicious cakes and scones. Really lovely presentation. Brilliant service and friendly staff. Have been here before while on one of our walks with the dog and have sat outside. Today came for lunch with friends and sat inside. Lovely friendly little cafe with good views of the marina. Although we only had the soup it was very good. It wasnt very busy today but that could because of the rainy weather.

Walked here on good Friday from saracens head,what a great place . Had tea and cakes ,which were yummy .The staff made us feel very welcome .will definitely be returning .just great .(we should have stayed for dinner too ) oh well next time .

First visit and we enjoyed. Very homely inside with good menu options. My wife had homemade thai cod an prawn fishcakes with chips and salad. I had a mound of carved ham with 2 delicious runny fried eggs and chips. We both enjoyed our meals. They also have a super selection of cakes that looked very moreish. Nice spot with outside tables as well facing the marina.

We had occasion to visit here last Wednesday for lunch. What a pleasant surprise it was - excellent food and the service was second to none. Very friendly staff. Lovely view from the window overlooking the narrowboats. They supply Yorkshire tea too - what more could you want? Will certainly be back very soon.

Very popular, quite a queue waiting to order. Good menu with specials board. Very cheerful and helpful staff. Food was quick and very tasty indeed, both of us having a specific panini with crispy bacon and Lancashire cheese with garnish. Generous pot of Yorkshire Tea as an accompaniment.

Being vegan I had doubts as to what would be available for me but I saw "vegetarian breakfast" and thought I could do my 'go to' in such situations of - veg sausage and hash brown on a barn - to then see you didn't actually HAVE the vegetarian sausages!

Called in with a friend for a bite of lunch, i wasn't very hungry so ordered a chip butty, the chips were delicious and hot, the bread too thick for my taste but fresh and tasty.
