Savoy Tandoori in Great Yarmouth

Ordered chicken pathia, no problems with that one, the jalfrezi was not nice at all, it had no spice, no chilli's, the sauce made the chicken look pink which made it unappetising, didn't eat the chicken, the egg rice was under cooked in parts and the naan was over done, such a shame as we love this place, won't be ordering from here for a while now Also 'just eat' employees need to sort out their attitude! RUDE is an understatement (delivery by 'just eat')

Simply WOW. My wife and I called in for our evening meal. We have been here before years ago and it still remains outstanding. The lamb korma was delicious. Great atmosphere and the gentleman that served us was simply amazing. Very polite and attentive. We would like to thank everyone for our fantastic time. Would we recommend it 💯 yes. Outstanding

Excellent food, the best garlic mushrooms I have ever had. The lamb tikka masala was so tasty. A large glass of house red £6 was a bargain! The waiter was helpful and polite. The ambience was relaxing and authentic. Overall, an excellent experience. Highly recommend!

2nd time we have been here. Both times great experience. Great food. Wife had tandoori chicken, I had dhansak. Both delicious. And our server was very polite and provided great service.

Just had a takeaway, the food was hot and yummy, plenty of food at a reasonable price. Well definitely use this restaurant again.

This curry house was fantastic, the staff were very polite and the food was spot on. I would highly recommend this for a lovely indian night out.

My partner and I called in on the off chance on Sunday night around 10.15pm. We asked if it was too late for a table (as they were closing at 11pm) they accepted us in. We had an amazing dinner. The male waiter couldn't have been more helpful and the cleanliness was very noticeable. Will definitely be going back soon.

New Year's Eve with friends. First time here. We couldn't fault the food - it was amazing. Yes, we had to wait, and yes they prioritised takeaways as mentioned in another review (we were there too at 6:30) but they were very clearly understaffed. They told us they couldn't get anyone to work -it was New Year's Eve after all. We were given complimentary popadoms as an apology for the wait. We were in no hurry so it suited us to have a relaxed evening meal. Only 2 staff - taking orders, serving at the bar, delivering table service, clearing tables, and it was all done politely with a friendly charming attitude. There were 6 of us and we all enjoyed our meals and the experience.

Another fantastic curry during a trip to Great Yarmouth. Incredibly tasty dishes, great service and an evening that the whole family enjoyed. Our girls love the dancing being shown too. A great find and we’ll always return.

we took a short 2-day break with the kids in Great Yarmouth, and we stumbled upon Savoy Tandoori. Let me tell you, it was so delicious !!The Indian food was so delicious, and the kids loved it too it was quite with beautiful indian music and very cozy and the friendly staff made our meal even more enjoyable my kids absolutely adore the popadoms with the curry and the naan, especially the butter chicken It was a real hit with them. The flavors and textures were spot on, making it a memorable dining experience for the whole family,If your little ones enjoy tasty Indian dishes like mine do, they'll definitely love it here

This restaurant is amazing, food is delicious I give it 5 star rating it’s a very nice and comfortable area to go eat with your wife for a dinner or even family. Me and my wife really enjoyed the difference selection of curries and the naan was absolutely fantastic very soft. Last week I had visited to Great Yarmouth in an Indian restaurant I found this restaurant through the google rating and the restaurant name is savoy tandoori. Honestly I can say this is only restaurant in Yarmouth for good food and for the best service. All the meal was absolutely fantastic with nice decorating.

Visited tonight had a Lamb Bhuna, Coconut rice, peshwari Naan and a pint of cobra beer. Food was superb, my host was very nice and polite. Food was hot, fresh and very well prepared. Thank you

I can only say this was okay. I found it expensive for what you got, Flavours and service was very good and friendly but I found the quality poor. The meat in the Lamb tikka was chewy and I was surprised that onion bhajijs didn't come with any sauce apart from a dab of what appeared to be sweet chilli sauce (random!!). Maybe im used to different Indian cuisine but my local provides a yoghurt dip with bhajis, they are also no where near as dry. But as I say it all tasted really nice the flavours were spot on just expensive and a bit substandard considering price. My colleague thought his was amazing so perhaps im just a fusspot!!!

Savoy Tandoori is one of the best Indian restaurant in Great Yarmouth. I've been here for couple of weeks now and been trying several restaurants within the city perimeters but the food served at Savoy is the best and after that i stayed on with this restaurant till my stay. The staffs were wonderful and friendly, especially the restaurant Manager, Mr. Shipon was warm and friendly. The restaurant atmosphere is warm plus it also opens till late night (11pm), convenient for those wish for late night dinner or supper.

I have tried this resturent food twice, food was ok but staff is not friendly and showing some sort of attitude.

I have to visit Yarmouth ( and other places) weekly for work, and live over 40 miles away, but can honestly say this is the best Indian food I’ve had in east anglia! It’s always a takeaway so can’t comment on dining in, but suffice to say I always buy extra to take home for my wife👍 Once you find a good one, stick with it, and I always look forward to my visit!

This place was just perfect... Yes, it's due a good old face lift, but wow... this must have been one of the best currys I've had in a long time mmmm I had meat samosa to start, and it was perfect... then I had chicken madras with muscroom rice, and I've not tasted anything so good!! Im starting off by saying the welcome and food was really nice, I thought it was a bit pricey, but thought well it's a treat, so why not?" After leaving the restaurant, I went on Google to put a review on and saw they only had a 3 STAR FOOD HYGIENE RATING. That has made me feel sick. If you put the same effort into your cleaning that you do your food, that would make me return, but till then, I will not be returning

Savoy Tandoori had great food and prompt, friendly service - we were very happy to come here after arriving in Yarmouth for a weekend away. The poppadom dips were better than expected, so make sure to get plenty of them! The curries are on the milder side, although there were also some very hot ones on the menu that we didn't try. Affordable for the quality! 4/5 stars for atmosphere because the music occasionally played adverts at us and had some surprising jumps in volume.

Restaurant had great reviews so thought we would try it, staff were very friendly, food was excellent, great spice level which is what we like, plenty of flavour and very happy with the food. Been non drinkers and trying to not just ask for tap water so we had 2 pints of soda water, this however was massively overpriced in my view at £3.70 a pint, too much for a simple bit of tap water with gas put through it. Apart from the overpriced water I was very happy with the meal and service.

I am so saddened by my experience here. My partner had checked online for good places to eat and from the reviews we picked this place. However our experience left us with a sour taste 😔 As we enter the establishment we see many tables free however the waiter tells my partner after looking at us that there are no spaces available. I assumed maybe the spaces were reserved however my partner did not. We stood outside and my partner called to book a space for 5 people in 10 mins and the person on call continued to say there is spaces available and to come through. On the plus we did go to Jaipur not to far away, they were very accommodating, friendly and the food was delicious. Rather then making fake profiles, this business should be bigger an apologies for what they did to me. The day was rather chilly and having to search outside the savoy for a new restaurant with my child in the cold is the saddening part. Note response: Thank you for taking accountability and please be assured I do not lie. First of all we did not sit down, but their were many seats available to sit down. Second the phone call wasn't for 1 hour, it was for 10 mins. (My partner had a gut feeling your staff were lying, please also note if you were full we were planning to take a takeaway.) The other accounts are people who are upset with how me and my family were treated.

I’m extremely upset with my experience here. Even though there were seats available, I was refused entry just because I had a pram with me. Being turned away while I had my baby with me was frustrating and unfair. It’s really disappointing that this place doesn’t accommodate parents with young children. I won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend it to others.

Regular here. We come with our two children and they are amazing go above and beyond for us and our little ones. This restaurant is always booked out fully. I seen past reviews of people being turned away with children and this is just so not true from our regular visits. The only time anyone is turned away even if there is seats is because people have booked them! Amazing friendly family and amazing food! 🥘 the best in the town. Don’t let the previous 3 reviews from the same family turn you away!!

We popped in on the off chance last night, 8ish, when every other restaurant was closed .... the waiter was very attentive, also very knowledgeable of the menu (I am a very fussy eater) ..... the meal itself was freshly cooked and delicious. I would recommend anyone to go there.

Really impressed. Headed down on a Sunday w/ an unexpectedly large party of 12. Lots of restaurants closed early or didn't want to accommodate us. Fair enough. Hadn't booked here but they were super accomodating. Food genuinely lovely. Some great spice balancing going g on rather than generic saucy flavours. Service was good. Repeatedly came back for drink orders. Place could do with a little spruce up but v. happy to go back there when we're back in GY.

Great food and brilliant service. Went as a large group with several who had never eaten Indian food before. The staff were amazing and so helpful. They accommodated all our different requirements and helped with suggestions and guidance about how spicy the different food could be. Every one of us enjoyed our meal. Decided to go to the savoy - always very good but on arrival was seated and I noted many dirty tables left with plates on - only one man serving and people next to us had been waiting for 15-20 even to be given menus and a drink order - then the phone rang and was a order I heard of 21 items so decided to inform the man and we left Such a shame as only one person seating people taking ordered meeting tables and answering the phone - maybe just a bad day
