Dolphin Fish Bar in Great Yarmouth

We got some food from here today and it was brilliant. The chips were really nice cooked perfectly and they weren't greasy. Fish sausages and chicken nuggets were enjoyed by all. Only slight complaint is that the cheese stuck to the paper so would have been better in a box. But highly recommend

I ordered Plaice Fillet and chips . The fish was cooked while I waited . When I was told it was ready the server wrapped it up with the chips and I took it home. The chips were delicious and a nice portion. Unfortunately the batter on my fish was very overcooked it was brown in places and tasted awfull. After peeling all the batter off I tasted the fish and it wasnt very nice. So I didnt enjoy my fish supper . This was on Saturday 5th Oct. At about 6pm.

Yet again I walk down order my Two Large Haddock, large portion of Chips. Always cooked perfectly walk home to enjoy fabulous Fish and Chips. And all I can say is First Class THANK YOU!!!

Second EDIT. The Dolphin Fish Bar have redeemed themselves. The order today deserves top marks, and your customer service and delivery driver has not let us down. It is very much appreciated. Thank you. EDIT. We have spoken with the manager, who was very apologetic. He has taken our name, and next time we order, we will be compensated.... obviously, not having any problems previously, we will put another order in within the next couple of weeks. After that, we will update this review. Hopefully increasing the star rating. Thank you. So disappointed 😞 ordered a delivery. 20 mins late. The chips were luke warm, fish was really soggy! The batter was not cooked properly. Saying that. We have ordered before and it's been lovely. So I don't know what went wrong tonight, but it has put me off ordering again .

Such a great thing to be able to order fish ‘n chips over the phone, pay on a card and have it delivered -With a SMILE no less!! Our order arrived quickly and hot. The cod, sausages, chips, beef spring roll and curry sauce were all lush! We will definitely order from the Dolphin again. One star off as scampi was massively overcooked. However, the bulk of our order was ace. We would recommend giving them a try if you haven’t already.

34 years I have lived in Norfolk never been to dolphin fish and chips, I’ve obviously missed out, because my cod was cooked and tasted absolutely delicious as was the chips, definitely worth the 5stars i awarded, and definitely will return Personally I don’t understand why a recent review gave one star on a dozen or so chips thrown on their table which to be honest that not bad considering the amount of chips you get in a huge regular portion

Recently ordered for home delivery, Two Large Skate, Two Large Cod, Two Large Chips & One Large Mushy Peas. Ordered for 5.00pm, arrived in time, paid by card on receipt. Polite driver. Couldn't fault Service, Quantitity, or Quality. Excellent. Highly recommended. Will use again.

This is the second time we have used this chippy the first time a couple of weeks ago we had a home delivery of cod haddock & chips which my fish was OK but my husband's was a dry as old boots & so we're the chips today we tried again as they said they were frying new potatoes & the fish again cod and haddock was just ok but the chips were definitely not new potatoes & were dry hard and taste less we collected this time but will not be using them again as at £22 it's not cheap for this to happen twice.

I would seriously take a look at your fryers and clean them I had plaice and chips what a shock when I opened it the fish was burnt cooked in dirty oil and the chips were cold the service was shocking I would consider who you employ the attitude of the young boy was shocking I'm so disappointed with the food Ive used this chippy a number of times and never had this before.

When I was 16 to 18 I used to come here on a Thursday for chips for dinner with my friend Mark. We'd have a bottle of wine and watch Ainslie Harriot on ready steady cook. There was this old dear who worked there, I estimate she was at least 85 and this was over 20 years ago so if she's still there say hello from me. One time I saw her pull a freshly fried fish from the fryer with her bare hands. She didn't even flinch. What a great memory.

Food was ok just too much oil on the food. It all stuck to the paper even the greaseproof paper. Not my cup of tea.

Great piece of fish some comedy supplied by the locals while social distancing and some brilliant mimes while making orders through the glass.. did I say excellent food also

Ordered for a delivery, when it arrived the chips (if you can call them chips) were almost black, soggy and just a pile of mush! The embarrassing thing I was feeding guests! Telephoned shop to be told it's the sugar content in the potatoes. Well I would suggest a change of supplier cause no other chip shop seems to have that issue. Please dont lie.

After waiting 45 minutes I was told there would be a further 15 minutes wait as they had run out of chips and needed to cut more. I asked for my money back and went home. Will never go there again, I haven't had such poor service anywhere.

Good size portions, staff work hard to get food out quickly. There was a queue but worth the wait. Only criticism it said £3.30 for cod on the price list and I was charged £4, was asked if I wanted medium so guess that's the small price.

It's a take away only fish & chips shop. That's means it doesn't have any tables or facilities to eat in. Food wise I've been here few times and I'm always been very happy with the quality of the food. Also the staff is very friendly and polite. I'm definitely will become a regular here!

Really works hard to make sure you don't have to wait any longer than 20 mins when it's really busy. Usual wait is 10-15, but the fish and chips are very tasty.
