Poor customer service. Overcharged and wrong food given to me. When queried I was spoken to quite rudely so we did not get the food we wanted.

The guy serving was extremely friendly, the food was great and they don't charge for sauces. Really good prices, too.

Very good fish and chips only topped by the service, cooked to order chap behind the counter couldn’t do enough for you and even gave the kids in the shop a free fruit shoot! 100% recommend !

Awesome fish and chips.. Been here a few times now and they always cook your order fresh. Haddock has a great taste. Highly recommended and friendly staff. 🙂

Looked really great, but the hours signs are inaccurate. Must consult the oracle to determine if they are going to be open or not

The guy servicing was friendly and happy to talk. The food was amazing. The batter was nice and crisp, and the curry sauce was lovely, tasty and thick.

Absolutely the best chips I have had for a long time, the sausage in batter was lovely and crispy all freshly made and piping hot, staff was very friendly, what more could I ask for, highly recommended

Second time here. First time was amazing last year so we came back. Second time, very very disappointed. Took ages to get served then had to wait over 20 mins for our food. Ordered two fish and chips. Chips were stale and not fluffy - over cooked. And one of our fish had barely any fish inside and slimey batter. Won't be returning.

Amazing customer service I went in and ordered all staff are very polite and they even brought my food to me as I only work next door to them amazing fish and chip shop food is also very nice 100% would recommend 😁

While I can't fault the helpfulness of the staff, the food was disappointing. Fish batter was like as some others described as rubbery. Chips weren't great either and I'm sure the curry sauce and mushy peas were microwaved.

Visited on Tuesday 8 April, absolutely appalling! I had heard great things from online reviews, so I thought I’d give it a try—but I can only assume the usual fryer was on holiday that day. The food was absolutely awful. The batter wasn’t batter at all—it was a soggy, uncooked dough that was completely inedible. When I cut into the supposed fish, all I found was a few tiny flakes buried under the mess of dough. If I hadn’t already paid upfront, I would have walked out without a second thought. The only edible part of the meal was the chips There wasn’t a bottle of vinegar on the table. When I asked for some, I was told they hadn’t had a delivery, and the last bottle of vinegar was being shared by all the tables. I don’t know what happened on that day, but this was hands down the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. AVOID!

We live this fish and chip shop and bring our family and friends but on a recent visit we noticed the other diners had left all the batter from the fish. We had to do exactly the same the batter was horrid with a yellow soggy bit underneath. Please go back to how you used to cook them

We purchased chips which were mostly raw. The staff members were happy to remake the food which was nice for them to do. Staff appeared a bit cold when we let them know the food was raw.

To many bones in my nattered cod and service was extremely slow

Prices are to be expected, but food is terrible. 2 large cods and bith were full of bones, I mean full, and the batter was more like uncooked dough. The chips were over greasy. and the curry sauce was way overpriced for the size and very generic. The can of coke was £1.80p for a 330ml can, so we skipped that. So, although there are a lot of good reviews personally, I would never use them again.

Popped in for some fish bites and chips, food was beautifully cooked to order and the lads Mick and Jamie were very friendly.

Expectations from the reviews were high. However let feeling disappointed. The fish we had was lovely, but the chips on the other hand were cold and scraps.

Visited here early evening on New year's Eve, They were very low on stock but quick to tell us and try and accommodate our needs. This obviously meant the food was cooked fresh and was absolutely delicious, The chips were unbelievable haven't had chips that good for ages, And I tried the plaice Which I wouldn't normally choose but it was amazing and so decent size, really impressed with this chip shop - And so much better than the very big brand chip shop two or three doors down from it 🎉❤️

Great really fresh tasting haddock served here, with a nice crispy batter, and excellent chips on the side. Nice cosy atmosphere & the best place to be on a cold, & wet winter afternoon.

Took my daughters friends (6 kids & us parents) here for her 13th birthday celebration dinner after a day down the seafront, as looked & smelt delicious as we passed. Absolutely wonderful food & couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcomed. Excellent customer service & even played Happy Birthday for us to bring her cake out to after. Will definitely be back again & can’t recommend enough, delicious!

Very welcoming staff. Food was really good. Good sized children's portions. We made use of some inside seating. It's the only chip shop where we have heard the staff check in with everyone that the food was OK. Great team work between the two guys working there too. Would recommend!

Cooked fresh to order. We had regular cod and chips, burger and kids meal. All cooked in front of us and absolutely delicious. The cod had the lightest batter on it and chips clearly home made too.

Sunday before 8pm, it was closed. Says here it's open till 10pm on Sunday. Clearly they don't care about about updating their opening hours on Google maps. Also, I looked in the window while I was there and couldn't see any opening hours listed. If it's open, great, but if you are making plans to go there, assume they'll be closed

Definitely the best chippy in Yarmouth although the small fella serving was very rude and not interested in anything other than being on his phone but the food was amazing to be fair lovely stuff

Sunday 1st September. Came for lunch here today and was very disappointed. After reading the reviews on how good the fish and chips were supposed to be at this place i was looking forward to trying them. However the reviews and what was actually served were two completely different things. Now I have got to say the portions were fine. Nice big bit of cod and plenty of chips. However, although the chips were ok, the fish in batter was awful. Not only was the batter extremely soft and soggy( no crunch whatsoever),but the fish itself was undercooked, translucent in the very middle! I was hungry so I ate the chips but only had the one bite from fish and spat it out, it was terrible. Now I did complain and in their defence they did offer to cook another one but by this time I had been put off completely so declined. No offer was made to me to refund me for the fish however so I left disappointed and still pretty hungry. A bad day?, maybe a new fryer? ,whatever the reason I would not ever eat here nor recommend you do either unless you enjoy your batter very soggy and your fish undercooked

I just wanted a nice portion of chips by the sea. Chips were served floppy and so very greasy, ate about a third of portion and gave up. Had to wait too long to be served as in my opinion shop seemed to be unorganised and understaffed.Will not return as very disappointing.

What a disappointment!! Batter on the fish was so raw it was actually dripping off so complained to owner! No apology just " oh yeah I'll do you another one" I then waited around 20mins for another one which was silently and rudely handed to me and was just as raw and dripping batter as the first!! Absolutely awful service and inedible food!! At almost £17 a meal you expect the batter to at least be cooked at a fish and chip shop and the staff not to be rude and treat you like it was your fault they can't cook it properly!! Terrible food! Terrible service! Will never return!

Must have new owners as i come to this same fish bar 2 years ago when it was the best ! The fish was Nasty tasteless cod had loads of bones still in the fillet chips wasn’t chips I Had sickness in the early hours of the morning . my friend who is a OAP had fish bone stuck in his windpipe . DONT GO

Didn’t taste the food but the service was so poorly!!! they let you stand there without acknowledging you which is a joke. Definitely avoid and go to t he sea front for fish n chips so much better

Well went 2 years ago wold have been 4 stars but now 3 last time the the fish as great the chips were great the only problem was the mushy pees were served whith the same spoon as the curry sauce but this time today about 5.00 but it was closed when it said it was open but it is a decent chippy

Something that is unique about this chip shop it that the staff will make sure you're ok and that you're enjoying your food (which, by the way, is fantastic). Love that you can have your fish and chips and walk (get a bus) down to the pleasure beech afterwards! Grate for if you're on holiday!

Fish an chips the worst I've ever had slimy fish with bones definitely not cod waste of money .chips thin and no taste. Batter hard and dry . Deserves to be shut down. Horrible food

Beautiful food some of the best chips I have tasted. I had gravy which was divine and the most delicious battered jumbo sausage I have ever tasted. Only issue was we had to request curry sauce for others in our party that was forgotten. Suggestion use a number system to call out orders as we found it confusing just shouting out the contents of the meal.

Slow service and greasy undercooked chips and small boney frozen white fish(not cod), the mushy peas were just marrow fat peas and the curry sauce was watery and tasted odd. Even the vinegar wasn’t real malt vinegar. Not as we’d hoped for our day by the seaside with the high reviews of this place

What a fantastic find! The fish and chips were delicious - fresh, crispy, and not greasy at all. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience enjoyable. Prices are reasonable too. Definitely recommend!

The chips were undercooked to point that they were still white and hard. Unacceptable and should not be sold. The fish wasn’t bad

We went here after seeing all the reviews and have to say unfortunately we were disappointed. The chips were very soft and appeared under cooked and the fish was ok but nothing special. Five of us ate and not one of us was happy with the food so I'm unsure where all the five star reviews come from.

Use to be brilliant but must have changed hands. Smallest piece of cod I've ever seen chips were soggy covered in grease and cold. My recommendation is avoid.

Fish and Crisps? Sadly the worst chips I've ever had :( The majority were too thin and overcooked like crisps! The ones that weren't thin were undercooked and floppy. Lady was friendly enough but quick to blame the "new bloke", very apologetic but not enough to issue a refund. Left £25 down and still hungry.

Ordered x3 regular chips and they are by far the best in great Yarmouth. Would highly recommend you check out the corner. 👍 also have friendly staff.

Some of the most crunchy delicious batter we've ever tasted. Chips were good lol of flavor and even my little one hoovered them down..This place is a hidden gem amongst the hustle and bustle of all the high street shops.. a must when visiting Great Yarmouth.

I wish I could give negative rating. Unfortunately, it doesn’t allow me to. The cashier was not really welcoming and was giving bad attitude. We visited as a diverse group of friends (Asian & Black), the cashier was very impatient and cold whilst taking our order and offered no/unclear clarification when serving our quite large order. As result we were very confused and had our orders wrongly served and even a bit of tension with other customers at the counter as she literally didn’t clarify what was ours or theirs. Interestingly she was the stark opposite in serving other customers, very cheerful and patient. Would honestly not recommend eating here as it was quite frankly a waste of money patronising a business with preferential treatment, can’t guarantee you’d be well looked after unfortunately. Save your coins!

Tourist trap - avoid at all costs. Charge 25p per ketchup or tartar sauce packs you get free from Wetherspoons. Also, loud kids running around.

I was only passing by with my girlfriend but decided to get a potion of chips to share . The chips was freshly cooked and was lovely . The chips were so good we went back for another portion ,when we are next here we will try the fish too , The lady serving was lovely too

What a lovely fish n chip shop. The service was lovely and the food cooked fresh for us. We had a family break and there were a lot of us Including 2 toddlers. My daughter dropped 2 of her chicken nuggets and without even asking they made her some more at no extra charge. They were friendly and the customer service was exceptional. The food was also cooked to perfection. Thank you for such lovely service we will be coming back again soon.

Really nice service. Gave three stars as today they needed to have cleaned their fryers. Little black dots all over the chips. Fish was ok, not amazing. Think we just had an unlucky day as other reviews so positive.

Hats off to the guys here, we were looking at menu and they had shut, top bloke comes out seeing we had children takes us in and cooks us all food. Food was decent , and the mango tango is top.

Terrible service waited for over 50 mins to get our fish and chips order. Ended up leaving and asking for a refund! Customers served first before us! Told us to sit down every time we went to ask!

Not to jab at other spots but when I came across a fish and chips shop that *didn't* have a big loud sign proclaiming that they were the best fish and chips shop I figured it had to be a winner and The Corner was just that. Impressively crisped batter on the fish (wife insisted I share that point), we got the large chips with fries and gravy and it was all excellent. Large cod and large chips was plenty for the two of us. The lady cooking for us was a gem too :)

I visited this establishment. In my opinion, the portion is too big for one person. I chose the fried haddock with fries. Deliciously. Prices are moderate for a resort town. I recommend

How does this have so many 5 star reviews? The batter was soft and uncooked (pockets of raw batter throughout). The chips had black bits all over them which incidicated the fryer hasn't been cleaned out. The battered sausage was bad and they got our order wrong twice. The worst fish and chips I've ever had!

I agree with previous reviews that the food was cold and the oil for chips was old. Can’t see how anyone rated 3* or above. Walk along further or back and find something else.

Delicious fish and chips, fresh fish and crispy batter. Excellent mushy peas and curry sauce. Only downside was the wait, not much of a que but we waited 30mins. Realising the delay It would have been nice if team offered to bring the food outside to us instead of, having to stand up and waiting around.

We had lunch at the corner today and the food was absolutely stunning! I don’t remember the last time my 4 year old finished a meal especially when eating out as he gets easily distracted but he had the kids cod bites and ate the lot, as did the rest of us! This will now be our go to fish and chip shop in Great Yarmouth with a warm and friendly service and 10/10 delicious food!
