Stayed a few nights. Rooms are tired and outdated! Tv didn’t work due to terrible reception. Not a warm and fuzzy place! Okay at a pinch if you can’t find anything else! No one to talk to if you need anything!! Access to room awkward with suitcases!! Definitely wouldn’t recommend this Hotel

Wasn’t sure what to expect from a ‘restaurant with rooms’ but I was very pleasantly surprised. Savoro is tucked away in a quiet spot just off the high street. The management were very welcoming and checked me in with no fuss. The room was spotlessly clean and I had a great night’s sleep on a comfy bed. Also, nice touches like bottled water and cookies. Nice powerful hot shower in a sparkling bathroom with decent quality toiletries supplied. If I was to have one very minor criticism, it’s that it could have done with a lick of paint. All in all I was really impressed and will 100% stay here again. Worth every penny of the room rate.

The food was good-to-very-good. I had the tempura artichoke to start. This dish was mostly salad with rocket and I was disappointed to find only a few pieces of fried artichoke on the plate. My dining partner had the carpaccio of tuna which was magnificent - fresh with a zingy flavour and delightful texture, set off well by crunchy plantain crisps. For main course we had rack of lamb. This was well cooked and presented. The meat was tender and had a lovely rosemary flavour. The accompaniments including pea purée and jus were excellent. The tarte tatin for dessert came in a very generous portion, and was pleasant, but for me it was not as good as a traditional tarte tatin. It had a hard crispy/crunchy caramel topping, rather thin slices of apple, and the pastry on the base was slightly too dry and too thick. Overall it was a good meal but the prices were on the high side.

Completely underwhelming. We thought we’d try it, not having been for some time. Lots of empty tables, food was at best average. Duck was over cooked, calves liver was a strange texture. Sides were ok, but we didn’t need them as mains came with veg, just not specified on the menu. Unlikely we’ll be back. Will probably stick with Melange or Odos in future. Shame as we like to support local restaurants

This is 'Mayfair in Barnet' : elegant environment, fine dining food, perfect service. As Americans would say, "Man, this is one Classy joint!" I took my partner here for a birthday dinner. We opened with their special Grey Goose aperitif. Great opener! She chose to eat 'plain & simple' ie goats cheese starter, cod fish&chips, New York cheesecake. All were beautifully presented and delicious; Raymond Blanc comes to mind. Mine was a little bolder ie seared scallops, veal chop and italian coffee; again superb, Marcus Waring would be proud. The whole restaurant joined in to sing Happy Birthday when my partner's desert came out with a candle, so convivial company is assured too. And the best bit is: Savoro is on our doorstep, so happy days ahead !

We went to Savorro restaurant for the first time a week ago and we enjoyed it so much we went back with friends again yesterday for lunch. The food is outstanding very fresh, tasty and nicely presented. The restaurant is very comfortable to sit in and the waiter was extremely helpful and friendly. They have a lot of fish on the menu but there are many other things to chose from too. There is also a good value lunch menu. Everyone really enjoyed it and we will all go again soon. One thing to add it is set back off the main road so you have to look out for it. Highly recommend.

Having cancelled a large wedding reception for our Daughter and new husband due to Covid we looked at smaller venues and went to view Savoro. Agata and staff were warm and welcoming throughout from the first visit through to the wedding day. In the ever changing climate nothing was too much trouble before finally managing to hold a reception for 15 people. The function room was set out beautifully on the day before and the finishing touches complete. On arrival the guests were welcomed and seated observing social distancing. The menu was pre selected with each guest ordering their preferred dish and drinks were served throughout. All to often food suffers at the expense of service where kitchens are overwhelmed with numerous dishes going out at the same time. Savoro coped with this perfectly, the food arrived in the proper order and was absolutely delicious. Every one of the guests commented and the general consensus was that Savoro had provided a day to remember that was certainly more personal and meaningful than a large venue but without losing any of the flare and care required to make the day memorable and special. Agata, the chef and the staff were extremely relaxed yet efficient and accommodating. Well done. We also have the added bonus of finding an exceptional restaurant serving exceptional food right here at the northern end of Barnet

I organised a reunion for three couples, we were all brought up in Barnet and Savoro seems to be the only hotel in the town. I was a little worried about some of the reviews about the accommodation but I need not have been, we were all very pleased with everything about our two night stay. It is a “Restaurant with Rooms” so you expect the food to be the most important and it was but there is nothing wrong with the rooms (we had three “Double Deluxe” rooms but if you were just using it as a bedroom then you are missing the point of Savoro. Both nights dinners were excellent and very good value, the breakfasts were first rate and all the staff were cheerful and friendly. Between the six of us over two nights we just about tried everything on the menu and we all enjoyed all the food. The only negative was the rooms were very hot, we all turned the radiators off and opened the windows but it took a while to lower the temperature on the first evening.

I needed to go up to High Barnet today to get my eyes tested – the timing of which was carefully planned as I would have enough time to ponder (endlessly) over a new set of frames before treating myself to a bite to eat. Having trawled the internet for some fresh ideas, I was all set for a pub lunch but this turned out not to be the case. The internet has a lot to answer for and going off on a tangent has become a way of life – for me anyway. But I must stop there as I’m . . . . yes, you guessed it, going off on a tangent.

I have been going to this restaurant since it opened. It is now the best it has ever been. If this restaurant was anywhere else in London it would be fully booked months in advance. Barnet and the surrounding area needs to wake up to this gem in their midst. I popped in with 2 friends tonight and it was exquisite. I eat out a lot across a spectrum of restaurants around the world and this is easily in my top 5. Until tonight the best Octupus I had eaten was in Athens where they really know how to prepare it. It was on as a special tonight so with trepidation I thought I would try it. It was superb and the best I have ever had. Substantial starter portion, tender , moist and full of flavour. The Lemon Sole main course with sauteed potatoes fresh and of the highest quality. My friends had the calves liver liver and lamb cutlets. Both agreed their meals were perfection incarnate. Top quality ingredients and and perfectly cooked and presented. The Argentinian Malbec at just £19.95 per bottle shows that the owner not only understands food but has a knack of picking high quality wine at bargain prices. There was no room for desert. The bill when it came with complimentary drinks was less per head than far more inferior restaurants in the area. A restaurant like this is a privilege to have on your doorstep but personally I would be happy to drive over an hour to eat there.

The food was ok but as this is not a cheap eats restaurant it should be more then ok I had a prawn cocktail which was pretty tasless and lamb which I ask to be cooked on the rare side saying I would rather have it under cooked it was more on the well done side not pink at all the mash potatoes I had was dry and not at all creamy very disappointed my partners dinner was good he had duck for starters and cod for main the fish was nice and white. It started poor and then went downhill. The liver parfait tasted mostly of peppercorns, and the accompanying pickled mushrooms tasted of pickle, not mushroom. The duck salad had soggy croutons, they'd soaked up the dressing, so not fried properly. The cod had a soggy batter, with grease coming out at the first cut. The lamb had to be sent back because of a hair on it. They said it was from the brush, but it shouldn't have got out of the kitchen whatever it was.The apology was muted at best. No one offered to take it off the bill, or even a free drink. The replacement came with hard fondant potato: Inedible.

Two of us went there as a couple for an early Christmas celebration. It was all amazing. The Christmas menu had all our favourites on it and choosing was difficult! I opted for something new, ravioli with spinach and ricotta with artichokes and pinenuts in a spinach sauce. I can say that it was 10 out of 10! There was a very nice looking venison on the main course menu but we opted for a tradition turkey meal. There was plenty of turkey, with stuffing, 7 brussels sprouts, lots of parsnips and carrots, three roast potatoes, cranberry sauce, and we had extra gravy, which was delicious. I would say that some bacon / chipolatas would be nice but there was really plenty of food on the plate already... We both opted for the cheesecake for desserts, again very good and light. The red wine from Sicily was an excellent choice for the food. Service was very friendly, fairly slowly as there were a couple of parties but it was worth it. Thank you for a great evening Savoro!

We chose this restaurant/hotel purely for location - it was where we needed to be - although the reviews were encouraging. The room was as illustrated on the website but it was so drab, without one picture to take off the bareness of the walls, and noise from the restaurant and the other rooms and staircase was very obvious. The small windows were mostly frosted as pedestrian traffic passed immediately outside and the room did lack natural light. However, it was clean and reasonably furnished, although - a criticism with most of the many hotels we have stayed in - two guests but only one chair. A hairdryer, iron and small board are also provided, with a sensible amount of wardrobe space, extra pillows etc...... The bathroom was a good size - fully tiled and with a good shower, and also container soaps - although just one small glass shelf under the basin mirror which is nowhere near enough space for the other toiletries guests will probably bring with them. Tea and coffee making facilities are available with good biscuits provided and also bottled water, which is something not often found free of charge in some hotels. Ours was apparently classed as a "deluxe" room so whether this is provided in all rooms I am not sure. Parking is very limited at the rear of the property and it should be remembered that if arriving on a Sunday, then this should be before 5 p.m. as the restaurant closes after lunch - no evening dinner on Sundays - although an emergency contact phone number is shown on the outer door. On our first morning we arrived at the (locked) breakfast room at 9 a.m. - breakfast was to be available from 7.30 a.m. - but after eventually locating a lone chef in the kitchens, it appeared that the waiter had not reported for duty. Phone calls were made and eventually a waiter did appear but by this time the lone chef had offered us coffee and started cooking what turned out to be a rather meagre breakfast. No cereals or juices were available and the chef quite quickly brought out our breakfast - on cold plates - one small hard and dried up piece of bacon, one fried egg with broken yoke, half a tomato, a few mushrooms and baked beans - with an anaemic looking sausage. I considered he had not had enough time to cook the sausage right through, and I had not heard a ping either, so I did not eat it. My husband dared and thankfully no ill effects there. The waiter did bring some toast - just two slices - and eventually some butter. Not the best start. However, on our second night there we did eat in the restaurant and that was very much a saving grace. I chose the chargrilled king prawns with beansprout, cucumber and pickled carrot salad - absolutely delicious. My husband chose carpaccio of beef and said it was probably the best he had ever had - and he has certainly tried many both in UK and abroad. He chose a large, chargrilled ribeye steak for the main course and it was picture book - just as he had asked for it to be cooked. My rump of lamb was also perfect and we both very much enjoyed the whole meal - very well cooked and perfectly flavoured and seasoned. I had a side order of new potatoes but could only eat one or two of them so asked the waiter if he would put them in the kitchen and ask chef to sauté them with my breakfast the next morning - and true to his word it was done and they arrived with breakfast, which on our last morning had taken a real turnaround. A waitress greeted us this time and we were given an excellent full English breakfast following cereal and juice etc...which was this time laid out along with fresh fruit, yoghurts, butter, jams, marmalades etc.....And so.........apart from the little hiccup at first breakfast, I have to say that this restaurant with rooms deserves to be recommended. It can take a good many covers and the few members of staff we encountered were excellent. The rooms are very basic indeed, but clean and quite acceptable perhaps just for a night or two if glamour is not too important for a short stay. Certainly value for money - we could not complain about anything - having put aside the absent waiter and first miserable breakfast!! The restaurant can certainly hold its own with the best, that is for sure, but as they put forward, they are a restaurant with rooms and they do well on both counts.

This is a treasure of a restaurant set back from the Main Street in High Barnet. The restaurant was spacious with ample room between tables yet it still had an intimate cosy feel to it.

Faultless service in this out of the way restaurant which is down a small side street at the Hadley Wood end of Barnet. The food was exceptional, perfectly timed between courses, drinks discreetly topped up. I had the scallops and then sea bass, both cooked to perfection. A delicious decadent experience for a special occasion.

My family had the restaurant to ourselves. We were really lucky! Excellent service, lovely surroundings and of course really good food. My roast beef main was succulent with a lovely deep flavoured gravy, crispy potatoes and al dente veg. My pudding of apple pie & home made gelato was scrummy. This place is not cheap but you pay for what you get. Treat your loved one(s) with a visit here. I recommend this place.

Myself and my partner had been trying to go for some time but when we have had spare weekends and called to book they have been full. We took this as a good sign and decided to go for a Thursday night. The restaurant is set back from the main road and looks quite dark from the outside but once we went inside it was styled simply and felt light and airy. There only appeared to be one waiter working but we weren't in a hurry so this wasn't an issue as he was still attentive and provided us with complimentary bread and olives with our drinks order. We skipped starters and went straight for mains which were both presented in a stunning way and tasted delicious - cod for me and duck for my other half. We had baileys creme brûlée for dessert which was equally as yummy.Would definitely return

Tucked away behind HR Owen's Bentley showroom is an absolute gem of a restaurant! Although the sharp eyed amongst you will note I'm a vegetarian and that Savoro is principally a fish restaurant they also offer fabulous vegetarian food too!Chic, friendly, great value for money and knocking the socks off most central London eateries. I couldn't be more delighted to find this wonderful restaurant, hugely enjoyed my visit and will visit again soon.A smattering of sporting and media celebrities sit alongside families, romantic couples, friends and business acquaintances. Then when you leave you're journey out of the mews is illuminated by a stable of elegantly lit super cars in the adjacent H R Owen showroom.10/10 Mr Antoni and all credit to your staff.

just returned from a nights stay at the savoro. We booked four rooms. Two of the rooms (Room 2 and room 3 ) were really nice and look like the rooms had been refurbished. The other 2 rooms at the back(14 and 24) were ok but not as nice. we had breakfast included which was lovely and they even catered for my son who only wanted sausages and bread and butter. The lady who checked us in Saturday morning and was there for breakfast the following morning was really lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely stay here again when visiting the centre of London as it is very close the the underground and one line to the centre.

Stayed for one night in this hotel. The hotel was quite difficult to find as it's set back from the High Road, although a quick phone call and the directions are provided. Car park is quite small but was free. Room was quiet, I stayed at the back away from the High Street. Breakfast was delicious, cooked to order and plentiful. Would recommend.

We went for a family lunch on a Saturday - great service, the food was delicious and really well presented with an interesting wine list that complemented the food nicely. There was something for everyone in our group on the menu (including some picky eaters) the waiter was very friendly and helpful and the price was very fair for the quality with the set menu being great value for money.

We stay here when we housesit at Totteridge Village if we need to.

My son Danny recommended me to Savoro specialising in fish and steak in High Barnet. I love a good steak and I go to their sister restaurant for fish and chips named Skipjacks of which I have already given a five star writeup, I knew I couldn't go far wrong! Wow!! what a pleasant surprise. I ordered a 15 ounce New York strip (sirloin) and I requested it to be medium- slightly pink on the inside and Seared on the outside. Wow! I have never had such a good steak in England!! The last time I had a steak this good was in The Margaritaville Hotel Hollywood Florida. I also found myself a good parking space for my Bentley on the forecourt of Bentley Hertfordshire, what a combination a parking space and good food. I will return! IdeF.

Without doubt the very restaurant in Barnet and the surrounding areas. Whether your choice is the linguine with Clams and prawns or their own matured T bone steak both we're cooked to perfection. Give this place the time it deserves 10 out of 10

A recommendation from a friend led us to book a table at Savoro on Friday evening. First impressions were good as we were welcomed upon arrival and led to our table. My first impression as entered was the place had a surprisingly cool, metropolitan vibe, more New York than Barnet. We chose to have a drink at the small but chic bar located behind the front dining area as we waited for our friends to arrive. We ordered Gin and Tonics and while we waited for our friends, the owner, a very charming gentleman called Jack introduced himself and we had a brief conversation where he shared a few stories about the history of Savoro. When our friends arrived, they joined us for a drink and we then moved to our table. At first glance at the menu, I was pleasantly surprised as the menu had something for everyone, with dishes ranging from pastas, meats, fish, salads with a very comprehensive range of starters. The wine list was very impressive and the prices looked pretty reasonable! I ordered beetroot cured salmon as a starter and I went for a fillet steak with hand cut chips for a main. From the wine list, we ordered a bottle of Chateau St Cosme 'Les Deux Albions'
Cotes du Rhone, France, 2012 which was recommended to us by the proprietor, Jack, and deserves a special mention. The waiters were very knowledgeable and extremely personable, (by the end of the evening, we discovered that our waiter for the evening had just become a father and he went on to share a couple of baby photos with us).
The presentation of our starters was very good and the portion sizes were very generous. The timing between our starters and main courses was spot on and my aged fillet steak was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious; my friends were equally pleased with their food. For dessert, I chose the apple pie with vanilla ice cream and as with everything on the menu, it was freshly made in the premises and was mouth watering. The bill was very reasonable, especially given the quality of the quality and volume if the food and the three bottles of wine we polished off!In summary, Savoro is a modern, stylish restaurant that offers reasonably priced fine dining in a very relaxed, contemporary environment. Savoro has a pleasant, soothing ambience, very attentive friendly staff and a natural restaurateur in the charming Jack. Savoro is set back from the main road and has more of a central London feel than a local feel. I will most certainly be returning!

We visited as part of a large group for a special birthday. The entire restaurant was for our sole use. Despite having to cater for so many all at once the food retained its restaurant quality and was delicious and beautifully presented. We were very impressed. Would like to have given 5 stars but it was very noisy and therefore difficult to chat. The food is too good not to give it another go and we will hope for a quieter experience.

Having been here once before returned with a group of friends.Generally food was okay but nothing to rave about. Several of us has the duck and all felt it was 'okay' but we had had better. This was after an issue when we ordered. Admittedly two of the party got delayed then had trouble parking (Barnet can be bad) so we were running a bit late but the rest of us had arrived on time and at no point did anyone tell us that the calf's liver had run out until one of the party asked for it when ordering. Surely the waiter should have told us it had gone, either when we were still looking at the menu or at least before we asked for it (it so happened 3 others were going to order liver as well so this caused a hasty re-assessment). Regarding the starters most were good but the preparation of the calamari was unusual and probably not to everyone's taste (wasn't really to mine)Finally, after dessert and hot drinks, both our and the other table still in the restaurant had trouble getting the staff to present us with the bill and then both were ignored in attempts to pay for some minutes - despite all the waiters being in the room preparing tables for the next day. Because of these issues don't feel able to score more than average.

Tucked away behind a posh car showroom is a quaint cottagey restaurant, with rooms behind. We had a wonderful experience here. The room was fairly plain, but spacious, clean and comfortable, very quiet. We were so glad we decided to eat in the restaurant, as the food was excellent. The portions were quite big, but everything was cooked from scratch to perfection and the service was very friendly. As it was a Monday night we were alone in the restaurant, but I gather it is busy at weekends. I hope so, as the place deserves it. We would gladly stay there again.

We have been to many resteraunts from high end to high street all over the world and Savoro is up there with the best. The atmosphere is a little lacking but the food makes up for that a million times over. The fish cakes are out of this world, French onion soup is spot on and come with a cheese soufflé on the side (bit strange but went down a treat). The steak is fantastic but from me the steal of the show is the Wild Mushroom Tortellini. This is the best taste dish I have ever tasted. Bursting with so much flavour and in such a delicate way.Bets a lot of posh resteraunts up London hands down.

Trying to book a table for lunch for Fathers Day on Father's Day is probably not a great idea! Nevertheless, that's exactly what we did at approx 12 noon. After several failed attempts we tried Savoro and they said we could be seated at around 3pm....result!Having never been there before we relied on Trip Advisor and it certainly delivered. The room is modern and attractive, the staff were charming and for the most part the food was excellent. Only a couple of "niggles".....the roast potatoes could've been crispier and my daughter's lamb was a tad overdone. It was a set menu for the day but the main course left my partner and I stuffed with no room for the dessert (which looked great). However, we were offered brandies and coffee as an alternative which I thought was a very nice touch.Towards the end of lunch the owner, Jack, introduced himself and he was as charming as his establishment.I'm really looking forward to returning and trying the a la carte menu but next time we might just give them a bit more notice.
