I recently dined at Savannah, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! We ordered the lamb shank and suqaar, along with a mango milkshake, and every bite was simply amazing. The lamb shank was perfectly cooked—tender and juicy with the meat falling off the bone. It was seasoned beautifully, with a depth of flavor that made it unforgettable. The suqaar was equally impressive, well-seasoned and bursting with flavor, showcasing the kitchen's attention to detail. The portion sizes were generous and definitely worth the price, leaving us both satisfied and eager to return. The mango milkshake was the perfect refreshment to round off the meal, adding a delightful sweetness to the overall experience. I highly recommend dining at Savannah if you’re looking for delicious, well-prepared food in generous portions. You won’t be disappointed!

Absolute worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant. No customer service skills whatsoever. Made us wait 45mins for our food just so we can receive the wrong order, then got told “ it’s practically the same thing”. Would not recommend this place under any circumstances. Mediocre food, questionable customer service and over all a horrible restaurant. Never have I had to write a bad review but people should avoid at all cost !

Amazing food and top notch service. From start to finish the experience was great. The staff were really attentive, on the ball and friendly. The food was perfect, I had the best lamb shank I have eaten in a long time which was cooked to perfection and really filling and flavourful — the mixed salad and rice was fresh and delicious as well. Drinks menu has a good variety to suit all. Also the date cake was fluffy and the perfect sweetness for my palate. Definitley down for a second visit soon!

Went for desserts and mocktails. Waited near 45 minutes. Noticed the one and only member of staff walking around avoid eye contact several times. I lost my patience and cancelled order and left never had to do that ever. Never waited so long for a couple of tiramasus.

I would definitely recommend everyone go and enjoy a meal at Savannah located on stoney lane Birmingham next to Azad supermarket. I enjoyed a lamb shank meal that comes with mash and vegetables and I had an extra add on of fries. The meat lasagne was also delicious. Salaad. Humus and bread. Affordable and Halaal. I'll insha'Allah will be trying the salmon meal next.

First time coming here. This restaurant’s customer service is 10/10 they are very hospitable and make you feel at home. The food matches the service as its a 9/10 only reason why it isn’t a 10/10 is because the spice wasn’t there, charge it though. Would recommend this if it’s your first time getting somali cuisine.

We tried it for the first time here and we are not at all disappointed. Great food, great service and all halal. Even they have prayer room. We ordered lamb shoulder and chicken savanah , all comes with salad grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes. You can choose from either pasta, bread and rice. We took rice and it was flavourful. In starter wd ordered veg soup, that was delicious. Its not at all expensive also.. the quality of meat were good. We would definitely going again..

Not even exaggerating this shop is phenomenal!! I just got the white sauce pasta and fall of the bone lamp which came on a bed of creamy mash ? . The salad was fresh and the timir (date cake) with Somali tea was delicious!! Food was warm n fresh

Poor service....unhygienic and unprofessional. I expected better but was very disappointed with the whole of experience as we were a group of 11 people but came back home hungry and sick.

This is the 2nd Savannah I've tried the other being London. This one has a lovely interior which you can bring your partner or family to. The servers are nice and accommodating. Food comes very quickly and is fairly well presented. The food is also very tasty and the portion sizes were very good. I normally order the lamb shank but this time it was all finished so we went for the shoulder instead. Again, very tasty and worth the journey. Plan ahead as parking may be tight along the road nearby. We had quite a few cars and had to try parking along the road with cars busy on either side.

Nice traditional Somali restaurant, we ordered lamb shank with rice, lamb steak with linguine, grill chicken with fries and calamari for starters. Overall the food taste was good and the meat was cooked to perfection. The staff are welcoming and polite and make sure to check on us if we need anything else. The downside loud music and frozen mix veg was used instead of fresh. I paid £45 for 1 starter, 3 mains and 4 drinks.

We were passing by and saw how amazing the decor looked through the window and had to pop in! Was instantly impressed and recieved a warm welcome, the staff were very friendly and had great recommendations! Only stayed for desserts and tea but thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, a very luxurious and relaxing atomosphere. Will definitely be visiting again!

Me and my husband came here and the food here was delicious. As I write this, I am en route to try something else on their menu especially the date cake as many people have mentioned it to be amazing.

Really nice authentic Somali food but could do with more authentic dishes, also better timing

First time I came here and the decor and place itself was lovely, we ordered the recommended chicken and lamb dishes both were delicious, food took a while to come out and they brought the starters out with the mains, which was a bit annoying, also when we paid they didn't have any change so had to wait 10 mins for them to find change, but a part from these two minor things was a good experience

Lovely setting, I came here for a quick drink with my partner. Our server, Aisha, made it very special and really sold the menu. We will definitely coming back here for food soon.

Some items acceptable on the menu but others need work. Basically anything you order will either come sitting on a bed of mash potatoes or some white creamy sauce with perhaps a ring of tinned pineapple chucked on top for good measure. The meats are reheated to order and definitely not cooked to order. As a result there is lack of variation in taste and could be compared to airplane food. Commendation for each of the following: top notch service, heavenly chips and divine date cake. I'd come back again just for these (yes it was that good).

I came in tonight wit my family . Nice environment the decoration was beautiful. We enjoyed the food , it was tasty with generous portions. The waiting time was not very long, and the price was reasonable. I would give 10/10, but i’ll rate 8 /10 instead. The reason for that score is that ,the waiters were not very experienced the brought us wrong food twice , and the music was too loud could not hear each other. Also there were too many waiters serving us that was a bit of confusion as well. Nevertheless i would definitely recommend, and i will come back Insha’a Allaah.

I am usually quick to criticise a place but I give this place 10/10 for their decor, food, drinks, and customer service. Will be returning again whever I go out with family and friends.

I came here for the first time with no previous experience of African cuisine, but the food was spot on, both the chicken and the lamb, with very generous portions for a reasonable price. The service was 10/10 with food arriving within minutes of order, decor is outstanding and would recommend for couples and families. Will be coming again soon iA!
