Satay Yo Beer in Sheffield

The worst,I ordered some Dim sum and they tasted bad and after trying just a bite of everything I got food poisoning,awful,vacation ruined by getting sick!!!!

The worst takeaway i ever had....

Satay Yo Beer does not exist anymore. It is now the Hong Kong Cafe. I was very disappointed when I got there because Google Map still has this restaurant located there.

Ordered a meal to be delivered through just eat. After an hour no food. Tried them twice using the number on just eat and their website and just told wrong number.

So we ordered a table over phone for 5 of us at 7pm on a Friday. All booked, got there for 7pm and the restaurant was closed… Rang them, said we were here and they hung up… What gives Satay Yo Beer? I think they’ve closed down and felt like pulling a joke on us because they were bored.

Most of the food are frozen goods, everything is just pure MSG…..OVERPRICED for sure!wouldn’t recommend and the lady boss is terrible when question their dishes

The portion of the sambal fried rice is amazing for the price and more than enough for two. There’s enough protein in it (chicken, shrimp and egg) and it’s really tasty. loved it. The pork buns are really god as well, just smaller than the pictures on the website.

Noodle Inn....must have expanded to the restaurant next door. Food is always fabulous and the portion is great. Friendly staff and comfortable seating. Highly recommended

Suzies 158 London Road, Sheffield, EMEA S2 4 is also operated from here via Uber eats and I have to say your food is disgusting. It’s was totally uneditable and left us both unwell with food poisoning for two days and we still haven’t fully recovered.

USED TO be great but has really gone downhill recently. Delay, delay, delay delivery times for orders and really difficult to get in touch with them when there's a problem. 1 HR+ waiting times and they keep moving them back - making the driver wait in the room staurant for 10+ mins or if they leave, saying the driver never came in and blaming them for the delay. Do not order from them you'll be disappointed.

Officially the worst takeaway I have ever had. How dare you call that beef randang and god knows what animal you got those ribs from.

This was our second visit, and as with the first the food was lovely and service very friendly. Nice relaxed atmosphere for a Saturday lunch and reasonably priced. Update - seems post covid this is now takeaway only with no dine in. Having tried its takeaway unfortunately it's a pretty bang average one.

I’ve eaten delivery from here a few times and it’s always been ok but tonight it was awful. Honey chilli squid was just fried squid with nothing else. The vegetable spring rolls were just filo pastry with barely a vegetable in sight. Well below par for what they charge. Might be just a bad night for them but certainly will be looking for another Chinese now.

Great dishes and excellent value

Ordered the Prawn Pad Thai. It tasted fine but I’ve been glued to my toilet with what feels like a bayonet turning in my guts for three solid days now. Go here if you are a real gambler and don’t treasure your bum hole because after smashing through an entire roll of toilet paper and even with the soothing assistance of aloe Vera wipes mine is now basically Basra.

Very disappointing. Some weird salty/spicy artificial crumb stuff sprinkled over the main dishes. A couple of pots of odd liquid. Hard to believe these dishes were prepared by the same chef who has received such high reviews in the past. It feels like the chef failed to turn up for work so the delivery guys stepped up to the plate and did their best in the kitchen. Very bad value for money, awful food and will never use again.

We discovered Satay Yo Beer a few months ago having decided to try and different takeaway, i'm really shocked to see negative reviews re: delivery. We've always been impressed with the service, the speed and friendliness of the service and have ordered takeaway from here about 4 times in the last few months. My son (12yr) asked for this takeaway for his birthday, both kids love the chicken and rice with katsu sauce, myself and my wife are pescetarian and always feel there is a great selection of fresh options. Really impressed with this place and would highly recommend to anyone.

Was willing to wait the 1.5hrs quoted for delivery (presumed with COVID restrictions and increased demand, orders may take longer), especially given the reviews. However, after approx. 30/40mins I noticed via tracking that a delivery driver was enroute to pick up the order (all good), then 5 mins later he dropped the job and we were back to "preparing your order" status. This repeated a further 3 times before the restaurant just cancelled the order, 1hr into waiting for it. Did a bit of further digging in the reviews and apparently this has happened before, on several occasions. I'm sorry, I know times are hard, but there's a serious problem here. Don't accept orders if you can't fulfil them, it just loses you customers and builds poor reputation. The beens on toast I made afterwards were quite good though, but then again I was so hungry, a ginsters pasty would have looked appealing...

We have been waiting 2 and a half hours for our food. Couldn't tell you what the food is like because it hasn't arrived yet. After ringing over 20 times we've had no response. I would save your money.

We ordered food at 7pm and were told the food would arrive by 8.10 at the latest. It got to 8pm and there were about three delivery drivers picking the food up from the restaurant. The order was cancelled at 8.20. Turns out the restaurant was closed. Luckily the bank refunded £40

Went here randomly and it was lovely. Good food, good portions, and friendly staff. More variety than other Asian food places, and a great chilled atmosphere!

Delivery came quickly but the majority of the food was extremely bland. The pad Thai in particular was tasteless. Not worth the money at all. Very disappointing.

We placed order for Malaysian chicken curry and Beef Rendang this afternoon. While the chicken curry was good, the beef rendang was totally disappointing. It did not look or taste anything like the authentic rendang dish. It was just fatty beef pieces in a generic curry with 2 inch of oil floating on the top. Not appetising at all. Hence 3 stars!

Ordered takeaway. Food arrived luke warm (at best) Salt and pepper tofu tasted OK but was soggy. Veg pad Thai tasted strange, unpleasant, worst we’ve had. Steamed bun with pork wasn’t great, came with really soggy sweet potato fries and was generally quite expensive. We’re really not super picky with food, but we didn’t even eat the pad Thai after tasting it. Would not recommend, at least not for takeout.

Ordered a takeaway and one of the curries was essentially inedible- the meat was just fat. It was pretty disgusting. Disappointing as have previously had a nice takeway from here.

Ordered at 7.30pm with 35-50 minutes expected delivery time. Food arrived at 9.35pm. If we had known it would be more than 2 hours we wouldn't have ordered from here. Wrong drink we delivered. I don't recommend this place.

Go for the beef rendang you won't regret it!

Shockingly bad food. The Vietnamese spring rolls were like battered sausages from the chippy, the papaya noodle salad had no papaya or noodles and instead had tinned sweet corn and insipid rubbery chicken sweating on wilted lettuce leaves. I also received another container which just contained more wilted lettuce leaves?! It was so awful and was binned. I will be pursuing a refund from Deliveroo. Avoid this place, a Pot Noodle is more authentic.

Great variety of food to choose from

Good food but slow service. This Pan Asian restaurant is located on London Road and has a decent amount of seating available, however for big groups there will definitely be a problem because most of the tables only fit 1-4 people. The waitress who was also working on the counter seemed to be the only staff working in front of the counter. The service was very slow, it was hard to get her attention at times and it took a while to order food and for food to arrive despite there being very few customers. After ordering my food, a small group of customers arrived and somehow managed to order their food and receive their food quicker than I did, which I do not understand. The food took around 20-25 minutes to arrive. The menu is diverse with food originating from places such as South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore, which makes this restaurant unique. I ordered the curry laksa which costed £8.80 and came with either egg noodles or vermicelli noodles (or both). The portion of the food was quite big and it tasted nice. Overall, I was pleased with the food but the service could have been better.

The food was spot on, everything cooked to perfection and sooo tasty. The service was also top notch. I had family visiting me from Lancashire and satay yo beer was the icing on the cake. It was definitely the right choice 😁

Got a take out from here, was average. Once we got the food home the chicken katsu was missing!! And no veg etc in any of the dishes

Ordered from them a while ago - the food was generally overpriced and unappetising, but worst of all the chicken satay sticks were raw in the centre! After having eaten a couple before realising, we were very lucky to not get food poisoning. I thought it could have been a one off mistake so got in touch to let them know attaching the picture below and they simply didn't respond. I'd definitely suggest avoiding them but if you do go there please make sure to check that food is cooked properly before tucking in.

Beer selection was a bit small but what they had was really nice. Food was great. Soft drink prices were really good for people driving or taking kids. Please bring back the 2 for 1 tastecard I wanted to try so much more!

Best chilli salt tofu I've ever had. Fast friendly service, can't wait to go again

The food was interesting, a mix from a lot of east asian countries. The dishes are labelled so you know where they come from, kind of cool if you want to have a gastronomic journey. The quality was ok, what you would expect for the price. My only gripe is that for a 'craft beer' place they only had Asian lager or a punk IPA (For £5!). Would like to see a wider selection of beer at sensible prices.

Great lunch time menu and full menu as well. Have my 2 favourite dishes beef ho fun and char siu bao! Staff are very friendly and welcoming at lunchtimes. Would be 5* if you could pay by card.

One of my favourite Asian cuisine place in Sheffield. The flat noodle (Kwetiaw) is quite authentic. Rice dishes are good too. One star taken away because they don't accept card payments.

Ate there last night for the first time , would definitely recommend. Excellent food and a good varied menu . Only slight criticism was the long wait between the starters and main course , but they seemed to be very busy preparing take away’s so maybe that was the reason . Will definitely be coming again

Great dim sum and starters and a very tasty range of main courses. Food is brought out as it's ready so dishes don't all arrive at the same time but the staff do make you aware of that when you order. Very friendly service and affordable prices.

Nice selection of really tasty meals! Been there a few times, the food was always super tasty. The only thing I would suggest is that the staff should try to send courses together, instead of sending mains for one person 10 mins after another. Other than that, excellent 👌🏼

Great Place, Good Size, Reasonable Price It was good place and warm inside. The girl who served us was also so friendly and always smiling. Good one! They offered the local Singaporean, Korean, Malaysian, and other Asian beer. But they didn't have Bintang (Indonesian Beer) which is really well known for Indonesian Tourist (Bali, Lombok, etc) and Australian. They also put bakso and satay as Malaysian Food rather than traditional Indonesian Food. The price was surprised me because it was so much cheaper than the other Asian restaurant. Taste was okay. Over all, this restaurant is authentic, but not excellent.

Used to go regularly but gone downhill here! Table booked at 7pm but mains not arrived gone 9pm. Upsetting that sketchy staff repeatedly lied to us about “5-10 minutes” and the chicken katsu was undercooked. Now I learn food hygiene rating only 2 (poor). I appreciate saturdays are busy but they clearly cannot cope with demand from delivery orders which were prioritised, and basically ignored us. We were given a discounted bill and insincere apology. Needs management restructure.

Two hours we waited sitting there after ordering while takeaway orders flowed out of the kitchen. Staff didn't care. Never again.

Came to the restaurant as part of a large pre-booked group. The selection of food is fantastic and is generally great tasting. I enjoyed wor tip dumplings and the gang massaman curry. Unfortunately we found the service to be not as good. Drinks, food and cutlery were dropped or spilled multiple times and knowledge of the menu was not up to scratch. Our food was served piecemeal so quite a few people had not received their orders by the time some of us had finished. I would like to come here again with less people to see if the service is a lot better but currently I would be wary of going with a lot of friends.

Gorgeous food, very authentic tasting and I've been to most of the countries they serve food from. The beer side was a shame as only had half of them on and only actually had 8 to choose from anyway. But I really liked the wok cam to watch the chef and if they had all beers would have been a decent selection. Would have been nice to have more Vietnamese on the menu too.

Love this place. Always great food and pretty fast service. Their Ramen and Pho is streets ahead of most other Asian food places in Sheffield. Never been disappointed

It's a decent place, worth going. Lunch menu is good, you get main meal with a free drink for about £6. Taste is really good.

Friendly staff and price is great, but after two hours eating from here, me and my friend had a really bad diarrhoea. Both of us lasted for two day, then I look on the hygiene rating it was 1 very poor rating now I know never again.... Sorry to say.

This place is incredible. Food is amazing. So many tasty dishes. Best Bao I've ever had. Portion sizes are great. Service is great.

I tried the malesian squiddy. it was quite spicy and I liked it. The staff is nice and friendly, maybe the beer/drink choices might be increased but I enjoyed my meal.

Keep coming back!! This is a wonder on TasteCard. But I would come here without it anyway! Food has never let us down, so many dishes to choose from that we never really order “one main” we just order loads of starters and share! Food is amazing quality and so tasty. Can’t wait to go back tonight!!

The food was amazing. We were a party of 4 including 2 vegans. The vegan options were delicious, will definitely be returning. Was a wait between dishes and others that entered after us were served first so that's the only reason for not having 5 stars. Couldn't knock the food and a good variety of dishes.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a quick bite to eat and happened upon this place. We went in, were greeted by a very friendly waitress and seated. We ordered 2 buns from their brunch menu which were incredible (strongly recommend the teriyaki one!) I then had Thai sweet chilli chicken with rice which was lovely. My girlfriend's main stole the show though! Vegetarian bimbimbap! Absolutely amazing. Will definitely be coming back for more! The service was friendly and quick too.

Came in here for late lunch. The place was quiet and the service was great. The food was so so yummy! Can definitely recommend the roti canai. The skewers weren't bad either :)

Great food, the staff are lovely and the prices are reasonable! My only slight quibble is the beer selection could be better but we really enjoyed our experience.

Really cool looking restaurant with a live camera from the kitchen showing the chef hard at work on your meal. Menu was incredibly diverse with many popular Asian dishes from Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean. Some dishes have a unique western twist which really works well! Cash only is a pain, but would recommend.

Nice lunch time offer, had a chicken curry but there was a lot of bones, very flavoursome though. Only 3/4 beers to choose from on the menu so the name of the place is a little misleading. Lovely decor and nice staff.

Terrible experience, we phone up for delivery, the person on the phone seemed so disinterested in helping us. I stressed twice that all our food should be vegetarian.The pad Thai ended up coming coated in fish sauce and all the other food was cold. I phoned them back up to complain and the women was again SO unhelpful, just kept on saying no one is there that can help me. Would never order from here again, greasy, bland food!!

Absolutely lovely food and I'm a bit of a Malaysian foodie. Particularly love the lamb satay which is a made of tender tasty cuts of lamb. Also very reasonably priced for the quality.

Great food with beers to match. We had a mixture of starters including satay, dim sum & steamed buns which were all excellent, and I can heartily recommend the teriyaki beef roll. On our visit it was cash only, I don't know if this was a temporary issue with card payments or if it's a cash only place.

Great dim sum / Asian tapas. There's a wide range of dishes available to suit everyone's taste, and the food is of great quality. Considering there are so many dishes, each dish we ordered came out perfectly! Staff were lovely and all round very enjoyable. Would definitely return - one of the best places to eat in Sheffield!

Monday to Friday lunch GBP5 Special deal, very good value for money!

We had about ten different dishes and they were all incredible, especially the pork pan fried dumplings. We had 15 beers and enough food to be stuffed and it only came to £100 too. Will definitely be going back!!!

Always a great experience eating here and still trying out new dishes.
