Cosmo in Sheffield

Just had a top-notch meal that I can't stop raving about! The food was absolutely on point, from the mussels in Sichuan sauce to the chocolate fudge cake—everything was a winner. The drinks were fantastic too, and the atmosphere made it perfect for catching up with friends. Service was brilliant, and the whole place felt spotlessly clean. Honestly, I’m counting down the days until my next visit!

Came as a walk in and will never return I’ve never been asked to pay for a meal before I’ve even sat down In my life but had to pay before hand (like a thief ) purchased drinks also Once inside Seated in a nice area Everyone else was been fetched there bills once they have eaten except me who had to pay first The other tables had servers asking if they would like drinks throughout there meals Instead I had to get up and go to the bar And get my own manager is rude and spends more time chatting the young staff up then actually doing anything Not to mention been sat near 2 crack heads who was talking about inappropriate stuff around my child This was supposed to be a nice relaxing meal out with family turned into a absolute joke Ps il be. Primero buenos trozos. . . . El lugar es bastante agradable. Un poco cómodo con los asientos, pero está bien. Las camareras eran muy agradable y acogedor. Estaba deseando ver qué había... Se fue colina abajo después de eso. Cuando subí dos tercios de los platos estaban vacíos. Sin platos de carne. Todo lo que había eran fideos, patatas fritas, hachís y un montón de arroz. También había pizza y pan de ajo. El bar de ensaladas era más que pobre. Virtualmente tiramos rodajas de remolacha y la ensalada de col sabía a precio inteligente de Asda. Me senté con un plato medio vacío. Volví a subir. Tenían algunos platos más. Escogí pollo agridulce. Digo pollo, tenía una textura horrible y lo dejé. No soy un esnob, me encanta el buffet chino estándar, y me gusta Wings etc en Hull. Esto no estuvo ni cerca. Acepto que en el menú de la hora del almuerzo se reduzca... Pero los platos que sustituí eran una broma. Tomé un poco de helado porque todavía tenía hambre. Esto fue agradable, al igual que el pastelito que tenía. El cóctel también estaba bien. Nunca volvería allí. Lástima porque el lugar podría ser genial. Ace para un niño de 12 años que ama las patatas fritas beige arroz y pan. . . .

Nice selection mostly but allot of it was very spicy so not so good for my son or me. Apple crumble was lovely

Tuve un almuerzo fantástico recientemente! La comida era simplemente excelente, especialmente la carne de res en salsa de frijoles negros y Char Siu - no puede faltar nada de ella. El servicio era de primera categoría y el lugar estaba impecable, creando un ambiente encantador. La única desventaja era el precio del almuerzo; pensé que podría ser un poco mejor. En general, sin duda volveré!

The food was amazing and a huge variety to choose from. Me and my family enjoyed eating at Cosmo, Sheffield. I love that i can try different type of cuisine.

The amount of choice available at Cosmo is great, I’ve heard it was cheaper before, but for a buffet with this amount of variety I think it’s very cost-efficient at £20. The quality was somewhat inconsistent, but once I had tried tasters of each section and settled on Chinese, I was happy to go up for my second and third helping. Can’t comment too much on service cause it’s a buffet. Though there was never an item I wanted that they had ran out of, so I’d definitely say that’s good service. The atmosphere was a big let-down. The decor was nice and I liked the lighting, but the crowds were really unpleasant. I don’t have a problem with kids but the place was like a play zone sometimes. There would literally be kids running around and screaming, almost knocking me over while i’m trying to squeeze past tables carrying a plate chock-full of Sweet & Sour chicken. One kid nearly headbutted me in the legs while he was running around, not looking. I know the staff can’t really do anything about this, it’s not on them to comment on others parenting styles, but I simply cannot say the atmosphere was good. Maybe put up a sign saying no running and playing? When I have to personally dodge around playing kids to get my food, thats unacceptable to me. I want to come back for the great variety of food, but i probably won’t risk this happening again.

Was quite rudly met and told needed to pay up front. Asked what we wanted to drink - wasn't even offered a menu to decide! Shown to our table and left to it. Food was OK but a lot of it looked like it had been there for hours - very dry and hard. Prawn toasts and spring rolls were inedible! Chocolate fountain was very poor - cheap thin chocolate kinda liquid with only marshmallows to dip. It was also really messy as people had spilt chocolate on the counter. 3% service charge added automatically, which is out of order when you are made to pay up front and don't even know what service you gonna get. I said goodbye to the member of staff on reception and wasn't even acknowledged.

Food was hot, staff were friendly, not queueing to look at what was on offer or to get food and generally a good environment for a meal

I popped in for a meal and honestly, everything was spot-on! The fried mushrooms were unbelievably tasty; I couldn’t resist having three servings. Our group devoured the Eton Mess and everyone agreed it was the best dessert ever. The service was fantastic, and the whole vibe was just perfect. I can't think of anything that needs changing; it was just that good!

Good, well stocked buffet, with a selection of foods including Asian, Chinese, roast meat, fried, pizza, sushi and salads. In a modern building in the heart of Sheffield city centre. Toilet facilities share a sink area between gents and ladies which was unusual.

Really enjoy it here with the kids. They can enjoy everything they want and get what deserts they like too. The staff are really attentive to detail and quick with service. Very happy and will be coming again soon.

Booked here for my daughters birthday for them to cancel my booking 2days later, now it to short notice to book anywhere else!

Having been to many such restaurants around the country I was not expecting anything much different. I was very surprised at the layout and hygiene steps in place. Then there is the food. Yes, it is the normal offering but the quality far exceeds anything I have had before. Drinks are also very reasonable. This is my first visit to a Cosmo location but it will definitely not be the last.

All the meat chicken and beef is halal. Variety of dessert. Worth for money

I visited this buffet recently, and while the food was good and the place looked nice, there was a big problem. In some areas inside, especially near the soda dispenser, there was a terrible smell, like a sewer. It was so bad that it made me lose my appetite and want to leave. If they don’t fix this issue, it’s hard to recommend the place, even though the food is okay.

It was quiet whilst we were there. I've been before but the food was of standard and the best I've ever tasted there.

Very small choice if you're vegetarian, but you still have to pay the full price. Also don't count on the staff to bring out a birthday cake correctly. Been here for 6+ birthdays and they've never managed to get the cake out to us.

I was there for the third time. The first two times were great, the third time it was on 3th January 2025, the entire silver buffet set was dirty, full of fingers, food slightly worm, mirrors were dirty, dust and cobwebs were visible on the wall from a distance. Then, around 1 p.m., the plumber came and started to work in the kitchen area in fron of people, the smell was so terrible that a large number of people left the room. We started to feel sick and we left the pace.

Great all you can eat place. Nice variety of food for around the world. The hotplate is a particular favourite of mine. The chef will prepare a choice of two items per person per visit - as many times as you like. Scallops have always been good. Steak can vary. Other half highlights are the pad Thai, ribs, sushi and the deserts. Staff have always been friendly and helpful. Slightly cheaper at lunch time and less busy.

However, improving the seating arrangement would enhance the overall experience.

A great venue. Not a fan of buffets but there was 10 of us and the range of food covered all food choices. The food was surprisingly good for such a large buffet venue, well cooked, good quality, the serving areas clean and well kept. I thought I would hate it but it was very good. Service was top as well.

I had a brilliant evening at Cosmo! The food was absolutely spot on – the Lamb with Cumin and Eton Mess were highlights for me. Service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was lively and clean, which really adds to the vibe. I’ll definitely be back in six months for another round!

Nice place for a visit little bit pricey but worh it in long run

I had an awesome meal at COSMO! The BBQ pork and prawn with courgettes were both spot on, and the vanilla ice cream was such a great deal. The place was clean and had a fantastic atmosphere, plus the service was top-notch. I'd love to see more ice cream options next time, but honestly, I can't wait to come back!

Dinner food is OK at best, the pudding is really good but don't eat the sweets (candy) as some kids put their bare hands and put it on their ice cream, may be best to go in weekdays when children are at school

Always a great time, the variety of food is perfect for those days when you can't decide on a cuisine... Just have all of them! Never had a complaint. The only mark down for atmosphere was the very lazy AI generated Christmas scenes that were playing on a loop on the big screen, would have liked to have seen a real digital artist made collection.

This place is an absolute disgrace. All of the food was cold. The options were very limited. The chocolate fountain looked like it was a watery gravy fountain. A fair few of the dishes were empty and weren’t replaced while we were there. Some of the food looks quite literally inedible. We tried as many dishes as we could and didn’t enjoy any of them. The chips were cold and rock hard. Even the pizza was disgusting.

First time and won't be the last!

This is the place to be in Sheffield.It is a good family outing suitable for adults and children.The food is superb with a wide variety of fishes,including Indian,chinese..british dishes ,quite affordable as well.We had a grey time catching up with my aunt in this lively vibrant place.

When booking cosmos i asked about under 16 price, they said aslong as they are under a certain height (5ft I think) they eat as a child. I explained my child is 15 but on the taller side and was willing to bring ID but I was told its fine. Only on the day they said she wasn't right height to eat as a child. To be honest its discrimination about height wich personally I don't agree with, It should state if your child is under 16 but taller bring ID. They made my daughter feel that uncomfortable she left the building. Maybe management need to look more closely at this as it could upset a child that doesn't like confrontation been told to stand against a sign and get measured.

Beautiful eatery with quality food, friendly and professional staff.

Great selection of food. Buffet style too. If you have a party of people with multiple tastes, this is a great place. Pizzas, Chinese, Indian, English. Great for kids and adults. Parking is literally opposite the restaurant, although quite a tight multi-storey.

Like a holiday buffet when you are in turkey with lots of options for food

Nice place and menu, l'd give it 5* if it resumed lamb and/or fish like it used to have it prior to lockdown, doubling the price would justify still keeping it on the menue.

Food was maybe a 3/5. although it has been better in the past, so not sure if it was just a bad day!

Had dinner with my friends and I loved it. The service was great and the waiter taking the drinks order was patient with us as my friends were slow and indecisive of what drink to order from the menu. The ambience was great and I love that it is a kid friendly environment with wheelchair accessibility.

This wasn't my first time in Cosmos Sheffield. I've been there about five or six times before, however, yesterday evening was entirely different and I will not be returning. Even as I type this I'm offended. When we arrived it was just about to open and I headed straight to the rest room. By the time I got back my party was taken to a table. I proceeded to the table where I saw the waiter waiting to take drinks orders. At that time everyone was all over the buffet I was the only one unloading my personal items to get off to grab some food. She politely asked what I'd like to drink. My ten years old daughter was there and requested her drink but darted off before our interaction continued. I placed my order for one refillable (I've just realised I was overcharged for two) Anyways, as I was about to head off the waiter said "Also, we have to charge full price for her." I said for who? She said my daughter. I said to her my daughter is ten years old and there's no way I can reasonably pay full price for a child. There was no seen, although an irritating revelation, I remained calm. No one around us was privy to the fact that there was any dissatisfaction. Anyways, I said to her I cannot justify paying that amount for a ten years old and in my view it's discrimination. I said I'd rather leave. She looked flabbergasted when I said that. My statement was not directed at her.. My sentiment and feeling toward that policy is that it is discrimination against a child already insecure being singled out. Granted my daughter while being the tallest was the youngest of her peers at the table. She only turned ten in August! She then proceeded to radio her manager which was fine. When he came over, his name is Andrew. I explained and repeated the exchange to him. He then said this one time I should pay half price. We were already there and decided to stay, but knew now based on this height restriction of 155cm I'll never go back because my feeling is, a child is a child no matter the height! I could tell she was not happy with the fact that the manager gave the ok, which was puzzling. I knew my daughter was hardly going to eat anything. She was more interested in the dessert, because at the end of the day she's a child and that's how they are when it comes to eating, so no you're not gonna lose, because even that £12 I paid for her she didn't even eat! When my friends came back from getting their food I told them what transpired. Only one of the girls knew what the waiter looked like as she had walked down during the conversation. Fast forward to us eating and now just talking and having a good time amongst ourselves. My friend who did not know who I had the conversation with had gone to get something else. On her way back, the waiter (girl) was stood having a conversation with another blonde haired girl on how "That's the reason she doesn't like them and how Black people are annoying and she doesn't like them anyway." She rushed back to the table in pure shock on the exchange she overheard and related it back to us. Now, she didn't know who I had the encounter with. I then asked her to point out who the waiter was that made the remake and unsurprisingly it was the one that I had the exchange with. Now, let's get this clear. It could not have been about me (I'm proudly black btw) but for her to feel it's ok to speak openly like that in a establishment that we're supporting speaks volumes. My friend while mixed looks white, hence her possibly feeling safe saying what she said or she just thought it would not have been overheard. Also, It could have been another table. It doesn't matter. I'm offended regardless as I know it wasn't a made up story. We then called for the manager who wasn't happy about what he was being told (credit to him). I'm the last person to cry racism. Generally I don't care. I don't look for it. I don't cry about it, I literally just get on with my life. My whole family is a mixture of both black and white. My husband is white. My daughter is mixed.. So while racism exist, in my household it doesn't.

Great choice of food. We loved going here with our son so he could try lots of different cuisine. He was free to eat too which was nice. Next to no service though, which is pretty typical at a buffet I guess

Always liked going here but on the latest occasion was very disappointing 😞 some of the food trays were empty- any rice dishes were as dry as sticks - the floor was so slippery where we were sitting that if you moved your chair slightly it just wanted to slide from underneath you . I tried the shredded duck and it was like sandpaper it was so dry. They overcharged us for one of the children (full price) when we queried it was so much effort we just left it- won't be revisiting

I went with family and it was a great experience. The food was great and there were so many varieties, I was impressed. The service was great. The ambience was pleasant.

Food is pretty good, no really complainants and there are so many options. My family and I come here a lot. The service is usually good, but sometimes it is too busy, and the staff struggle to clear your empty plates. The atmosphere is ok but again, it is very busy. The new refurbishment is a good one, but putting the drinks refill counter right next to the payment counter was a stupid design idea as that area gets too crowded.

Tables too close to each other,cold food which should have been hot ,this was a family b/day meal this is at the sheffield one.dissapointed.

A good idea is to book a table in advance. Great variety of food, many options to choose from. Service was good, but I found the place to be a bit expensive.

Wow from the second that you are pushed to the very very cramped table to when you pay your bill, everything is done at a hundred miles an hour !!!! And man is this place expensive £25 a head for pretty rubbish food that either has no flavour or is over seasoned or tastes just down right strange !! They do plenty of dishes but none of them are any good and £3.95 for a glass of coke !! If you are greedy and you don't care about what you are stuffing down your neck then this is a place for you, however if you want quality food then stay away.

Lots of variety for food , food is lovely even for a picky 4 year old , something for everyone.

All staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. Staff gave us information about the drinks and found out more information when we asked questions about a drink. Allergies.

Food choice is amazing and great if there are any fussy eaters as they have just about everything

Usually I love this place, but the most recent visit has put me off returning. The food was great I can’t fault it, and the atmosphere is good. But firstly as I went to pay, the staff member pressed to add service charge on the card reader, I don’t usually mind giving a tip when eating out but atleast give me an option to do this. If waiters were bringing me the food I’d ordered and checked later to see if everything was ok then yes adding a service charge would be the norm for me, however it’s a buffet and I collected my own food, the most they did was to bring me a cup for my refillable drink and took my money at the end which I don’t think warrants a service charge. I’d only noticed this charge was applied and paid once I looked at my receipt later on. Secondly a staff member ran after me and my partner while leaving shouting that we’d not paid for our meal embarrassing us infront of everyone and they’d locked the automatic doors which were unlocked once I’d proved I’d paid by showing my receipt. Hardly any apology for their mistake and we left. Probably won’t return for some time unfortunately.

COSMO Sheffield and other locations of COSMO is an excellent spot to go for family or business or celebration meals. Food is awesome, tastes nice with good presentation and the staff are professional and courteous. Always looking forward to visiting their any other day and my kids love it as we look out for cities with COSMO presence to plan our holiday visits in UK.

Went on a Saturday,was really busy

Just to say we went 2 weeks ago n ate brilliant food. yesterday meal was absolutely awful. Most of it was luke warm like it was warmed up from the night before. There was no gammon. Chops or lamb chops like there were 2 weeks. It was my parnters birthday n it does say that you get a free meal but never did. I paid for me n parnter, which is a good job I had enough to pay for it. Even my partner didn't enjoy it, but 2 weeks ago, he did. Mind you, it was at 12.45 for meals, n it was early as they opened at 12.30. I think I will try Doncaster ones instead next time..

Ok for choice nothing amazing but you can get lots of different things in one visit so it's handy if you don't know what you want.

Very good. Lunch on weekdays is cheaper than other times. However, please note that there is no teppanyaki for lunch on weekdays. The teppanyaki dishes here are delicious.

convenient location, staff friendly, however did not do much when I pointed out my concerns, other customers did not close lids meaning some food was not as hot as it should be, as a family we could not try deserts as people had cross contaminated all the serving tools and nuts were scattered over desert area and we have allergies. Team apologised but did not fix problem

Good was great quality and the variety was good. The layout of food could have been better The atmosphere and decor was great and clean. We booked for 5.15 but was not seated.until 5.30. We know you have a 2 hour limit but the waiter came at 6.50 saying we had less than 30 minutes before we had to leave. Maybe start the 2 hour from when you are actually given a table

The meals I have had here! Geez I have always left stuffed even when the food hasn’t been on par! More often than not I have experienced below temp food which if it’s moving fast is ok but what bothers me as a clean freak, is the food that has been spilled being left around the dishes or slopped down the sides. When the place hasn’t been so busy staff have managed to keep food looking presentable after all we all know we eat with our eyes! Staff don’t particularly interact they are more like robots clearing plates. Visitors make this place. I don’t know what it is but there is always a great vibe.

Busy not enough plates sometimes need to wait. Most desserts gone by end of shift not refilled. Tables very close too each other.

5pm booking on a Saturday. Food had just been restocked. Whole place was lovely and clean. By 6pm it was rammed but still everything was stocked. Food was lovely. Service was great. Only have 1.5 hours on table but given 15 minute warning it’s nearly over

A great night, the food was lovely and plenty of choice. Toilets left alot to be desired, probably shouldn't be letting little kids go off to the toilets unsupervised.

Food was awful, cold, chewy and tasteless. Won't be going again. Complained and only received 10% off the bill. Wasn't even worth £10 for the 3 of us.

Changed poor food quality not the same won’t be coming back. They was not interested in our complaint at all. The food used to be nice but gone very cheep tasteless and cold. No longer recommend this place.

That was so good!! Plenty of tasty food and desserts!! Easy parking. Not crowded but I needed a book table. Make life so easy. I especially want to say a big thank you to the man who cooks fish and steak. Unbelievable high level skills!!! Very impress! You are the top kitchen chef thank you all!

Overall it’s good if you have a big group people looking for an all you can eat buffet but don’t expect high quality food or ingredients.

Food tastes worse than cardboard. There was nothing that had flavour, or texture. Go elsewhere!! The atmosphere was kids running around trying all the “multicultural” food. I feel for them forced to eat cardboard for their birthday. When you try anything, realise it’s god awful, you go to put your plate on the side of the already small table. Then go try something else. Realise it’s god awful, place it to the side. Rinse and repeat. You see the problem? The plates stack and stack until there’s no space and no one comes and takes the plates. You’re now left with a pile of **** food. Only positive, you can no longer try anything else. Honestly, for the same price there are so many better places: Zaap, Olive, Grazie, Dominos, KFC, Greggs, etc… Pls look at trip advisor or somewhere else for better recommendations. Please do not go here.

Ignore the recent review left by Mr Istakhar Shaikh...we were sat near you today Mr Shaikh and heard your complaint to the manager. If the food was soooo bad, and you found cockroaches, why did your large party keep going up for more food, again and again and again? Why didnt you complain earlier? Why wait until your bellies were full? Why stay, and continue to eat? The Manager handled your complaint with calmness, professionalism and dignity even when you got your phone out, waved it in front of him and threatened you were going to leave a bad review if he didn't comp your meals. You just didn't want to pay for your food!! I haven't been to Cosmos in years. The food today was beautiful, red hot and lots to choose from. Cleanliness and customer service 10/10 ...couldn't fault anything about my visit today. Will definitely not leave it years before we go back again.

We found cockroaches and informed waiter umesh and manager Andrew they both were not bother about the concern and gave a reason as changes of weather could be a reason to find cockroaches in the food. This is a serious health and safety hazard. I shall be reporting this to the health and safety department.

Food was stale and bland. Had no flavour. Quite frankly the only good thing was the ice cream machine. Not really worth the money despite being a buffet
