Very limited English which made hard to communicate and the broke the card machine so we had to leave, find cash and pay that way.

The ginseng chicken soup tasted like peppery water and not any ginseng taste and no trace of any ginseng strands in it. Disappointed ! They should just state the dish as chicken soup with red dates on the menu and not ginseng chicken soup.

The meats all seemed of excellent quality, the fried rice was divine, Uncle Roger would be proud.

The last time I dined at this restaurant, I was very disappointed with the service. The staff were very impatient. There are many restaurants nearby with better service and a superior dining experience.

Waitress have a really bad attitude and impatience with their customers.

i routinely visit ginseng for their amazing korean bbq which is well priced and delicious. would definitely recommend (the thin sliced beef in particular)

Went here the other day. Food was decent, but pricey for the quality. The main reason I will not be turning was the atmosphere. The restaurant is a bit dark and grimy but not too bad - what made me very uncomfortable was the poor fish in the tank in the middle of the room. The water in the tank was yellow and clearly had not been cleaned in a while. The tank was very narrow and had no plants or decorations for the fish who also had no companions. It was swimming in circles and looked distressed. Honestly it made me sad to have to look at it while I was eating and ruined the experience a bit. Mostly I just felt sorry for the fish.

I'm sorry, but I cannot give any rating. This restaurant is operated by people from China, not Korea. If you are seeking authentic Korean food, I'm afraid this is not the place for you. They are using low-quality Chinese stir fry to deceive local UK patrons. I believe the chefs and staff working there have no concept of what basic Korean food entails. The seasoning and sauces are all incorrect, and the cooking methods are wrong. If you go there for Korean BBQ, the marinade of all types of meat are totally wrong! The food quality is low, and there are no traces of any Korean taste or dishes in that restaurant. As an Asian familiar with Asian cuisine, I must say it is a shame for them to run a so-called 'Korean restaurant' in such a manner.

The quality of food is excellent, sadly the business appeared to be going out of business. The inside is grimy and unused, there’s a fish swimming alone in a huge tank that doesn’t even have a single plant or anything in it. Very weird ambience really.

Ordered toboggi and kimchi rice. It arrived 5 minutes later. Semi heated toboggi and kimchi rice was reheated in frying pan with reheated fried egg. 23 pounds later, I asked where are the little appetizer dishes. Oh, she said, we don't serve those here! Not a typical Korean restaurant

The reception was good but my girlfriend noticed that the color of the barbecue meats were not very clear and did not seem fresh but we consumed for £72 resulting in stomach aches and diarrhea the next day.

Please make sure you don't order any meat for the BBQ. My boyfriend and I got stomachache "diarrhea" the whole day. I didn't attend classes because of that and my boyfriend didn't go to work. It was really bad. The meat wasn't fresh or well conserve. OMG I was so afraid that this stomachache won't stop. But after taking some medicine I am quite alright. Becareful with your order guys. I don't recommend the BBQ. The meat wasn't fresh and it could lead to intoxication.

Decent food, but not authetentic Korean taste. If getting the all-you-can eat it is cash only. It's not particularly good nor is it bad. Pretty bang on average.

It's a shame as this place seems to have lost a bit of its spark. I used to really enjoy eating here but last time it just wasn't good. My husband and I had bibimbap - beef and chicken - and there was barely ANY meat in either of them. Very stingy - a literal sprinkling of pieces along the side, and what was there was very bland. We were also not given any side dishes/banchan at the start of our meal as we normally get. Maybe they stopped offering this? The service was quite slow and unfriendly. I hope they start to take a bit more pride in their food again but otherwise, I won't be visiting again unfortunately.

KBBQ is cash only - unsure why when all other offerings is card. Service is average, the process for KBBQ is not really explained and the staff didn't really take to answering questions about it. Food was good however and drinks fairly priced. I would generally agree with other comments on here, feels more like a Chinese than a Korean restaurant - but for those wanting to give a KBBQ a first try, it's worth it!

2 of us went for the All you can eat Korean BBQ. This cost £24.99 and is only payable by cash. You can choose anything from the Barbecue section of the menu, max 2 items per order per person. This meant the 2 of us could order 4 dishes each time. The initial order took a while, around 30 minutes after we sat down to come & start BBQing. Sides such as Lettuce & Rice needs ordering and isn’t just provided. The beef selections & pork belly were really nice. Many of the choices are thin sliced so they cook easily. Ordered some chargrilled chicken wings but found these to be a miss as the meat was still pink in the middle and the BBQ just couldn’t cook it thoroughly. Drinks are reasonably priced although I went for a tap water which was served in a half pint glass meaning I had to ask for a refill a few times. Overall a nice experience to atleast go once. It is pricey at £25 per person but good for a treat.

Edit: It has been quite a few years ago that I had my bad experiences. Things have definitely improved and it's a nice place to get some kbbq again. Staff are a lot nicer (maybe better trained) and the quality of the marinated meet has improved too. I'm leaving my original review as it was applicable at one time, but wanted to update with my latest experience. Original post 2016: I've been eating here for 4 years throughout my university life. Initially their barbecue food quality was really good, but it has drastically fallen over the years, as well as their quality of service. With our latest visit, it might be our last too. I understand when the place is busy, staff are also busy that is understandable and I have usually no problem being patient with waiters, but what was really annoying was when our table was completely ignored, while the table next to us seemed to know the staff, got served a lot faster, got all of their side complimentary dishes and the waiters seemed to constantly be near them and take their wishes. We had to wait 30 min before they would respond to us calling them to make our first order. Then we had to request twice for the water we ordered and never got our side dishes, which we should have gotten the moment we made our order. The soy sauce dish had barely anything poured in and had to request them re-fill it, which they again barely poured anything in it, considering this one little soy sauce is to be shared between a couple of people. When the bbq meat arrive, it was nothing like the marinated meat I used to have (considering I order this same dish every time I come and I know how it used to taste and be). It was not marinated at all. The staff looked irritated every time we tried calling them, which is unreasonable considering they were more than happy to serve the table next to us. Overall, their meat quality has fallen, their staff attitude is poor, their service is poor and they have become even more stingy when it came to the soy sauce. This is my opinion based on the experience I've had from the last few months visiting this place. I am very disappointed as this was one of my favourite places to have a meal at.

Meat BBQ was great tasting and plenty, we were full a s a gun. However the owner needs to buy new seating as the chair springs were nearly coming through the seat material. So uncomfortable to sit on as we were there a couple of hours. I managed to find one Leather look seat which was fine. PLEASE. Get New Seats.

Fun experience and really nice food. Really recommend the all you can eat meat as it allows you to try a lot. Friendly staff showing you what to do. Great place to go with a group of friends.

Visited Sheffield for a few days and decided to go to this restaurant as I've always wanted to try KBBQ and I was not disappointed. Staff were very attentive and the food was very delicious. Will definitely be coming back whenever I'm back in Sheffield!

This is a Chinese restaurant. There is not a Korean in sight, and it shows as the food was not very authentic and the staff don't know the menus. They got our order wrong twice and still put the wrong order on the bill. We had to ask for the bill to be corrected. Service was average and the restaurant was not great. Chairs were old and broken, toilets were not very clean and the floor was sticky.

Good food. A bit confusing to understand how the menu works, but once decided and the food came out it was very tasty. It's a small restaurant and you can cook Infront of you if you want to BBQ, which the BBQ buffet is cash only, but it is a nice restaurant. The tap water was warm though in a warm glass which wasn't too pleasant

I am Korean so I can say that they sell FAKE Korean food for sure. It is obvious that food is not cooked by Korean and it's too salty or tasteless with bad smell. I recommend you to not go there and please don't judge Korean food by the food they serve because it is NOT Korean food. Lots of spellings on the menu are completely wrong which means that the owner didn't even tried to know about the food well. The interior is also not Korean style. I am sad that I cannot give 0 star.

Just had a great lunch there, staff is very friendly and the food is just amazing! We had the fried squid and peanut chicken as starter/sides, and obviously had to try out their table BBQ! So we ordered to kinds of beef and some pork belly. I'm usually don't like pork belly, but having it so thinly sliced fresh of the BBQ right in front of you, even I couldn't resist! And the beef is just to die for, see through thin, cooked in a minute, so tender, and the flavours were amazing. Defenitely double dip in the dip bowl! Can't recommend this place enough, we ll definitely come back! 😊

Ordered through Deliveroo. Restaurant accepted the order, went through the whole journey of “in the kitchen” > picked up > nearly arrived, only to cancel as the driver showed almost here on the map. Apparently because the restaurant is now closed or too busy. Don’t accept the order therefore costing us 50 minutes of waiting before needing to order something else. Poor.

Wasn't good/ wasn't bad. Food was ok. Staff were fast at seating and taking food order but apart from that its so hard to get attention. We did the korean bbq. It was average. The toppoki (tteokboki) was a bit too sweet for my liking.

Really not impressed… food was nothing like imagined. Ordered through Uber eats, tofu was tasteless and raw, belly pork was gelatinous (what there was of it) and padded out with cabbage. Chicken wings totally tasteless and dry. Horrible

I absolutely loved this place. As a matter of fact I went back two nights in a row. They remembered me. I highly recommend the Bulgogi and the La Galbi - the tender beef and beef short ribs. I wish we had this style of cooking back in Houston. My wife had the Teriyaki Steak plate and really enjoyed it as well.

Reasonably priced, full of flavour and options. Recommend the Sweet and Sour Pork, Korean Style Peanut Chicken and Squid Namul. Do not get the Squid Namul if you don’t like spicy food.

I think they don't clean well, the restaurant is quite dirty. I could feel lots of oil on the table anywhere. And also, there's no korean, they are all Chinese. As a Korean I am sure that the foods are absolutely not Korean food. I can say the foods are Chinese korean food, rather than classic Korean food. I wouldn't visit the restaurant again.

Amazing Korean BBQ with reasonable price. Staff are friendly and attend to our needs promptly. the only downside is that we can only order 2 things at a time per person but it's fair enough as we went for all you can eat and still can order some more.

Decent food but average service. This Korean restaurant is located in the west one complex, which is around 10 minutes walk from the city centre. The restaurant itself has two floors, therefore they have the capacity to hold a lot of customers. The restaurant serves Korean dishes and also Korean barbecue. The first thing to notice is that the staff and chefs are Chinese and not authentic Korean. The staff are friendly but the service was slow and the waitresses were not monitoring tables regularly. Furthermore, where I was sitting one the staff were causing a loud racket by dropping frozen food on into containers which was very annoying. I ordered from the lunch menu which has a few offers. I ordered the soup and hot stone pot offer which costs £15.99. As you are waiting you are given two complimentary small starters. The hot stone pot comes with a spicy dip, the portion is reasonable and is surprisingly filling. The salmon tofu is quite tasty, my favourite part of the meal. Overall, the service was a bit of a let down and I think it is not value for money, a bit too pricey.

Worse restaurant ever. Staff we're gathered infront of the till blocking the already narrow walkway like they're having Annual General Meeting (AGM) And I was holding a baby and trying to get past they WON'T EVEN Budge as if I were transparent to them!! And when I press the alarm trying to ask for service, (that short China lady with glasses on) she just came round and walk off right away before I even finish my sentence. And the same short lady mops that bloody floor at 9pm when they're not even shut yet I'm like are you bloody kidding me? The restaurant is not baby friendly either. AVOID AT ALL COST!! VISIT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Typically this is only my review. Reviews vary with different tongues as well. Had a really high expectation after reading the review but was really dissappointed. Service was very very slow. Ordered an authentic spicy korean wings and it was worse than anything i ever had. And pork ribs hotpot, i had so many hotpot in my life but this was one of my worst.

Stopped by here when we were recently in Shefffield. Restaurant is not up to much, the food is tasty, but you have to cook to yourself, which once the lovely wears off - is a bit annoying. Would be good for friends, but not if you're really hungry and want your food cooked quickly and not by you!

Food was a bit cold when served, pancake was chewy. Cutlery was dirty, seating was cramped. Didn't enjoy very much and decided I'm not a big fan of Korean cuisine.

Very good food and general service but website said closing time was 11 we were asked to leave by half 10 which meant we had to rush... staff approached us about paying bill before we even finished eating at 10:10pm. We chose this restaurant because of the 11 finish only to be rushed.

Went past a couple of days ago and this place looks like it's closed down (menus ands stuff removed from windows, chairs and tables being cleared out) and the website has vanished.

Just like to say I ate at this place last night and I got served by mei and I have to say say she was fantastic, even though she was extremely busy her manners where impeccable, if I ever open a restaurant I know who to recruit :) I will 100 % be coming back again, thank you to all the other staff as well :)

Good tasting hotpot. Meat was a little fatty and too little of meat. We wanted a hotpot and bbq but unfortunately both use the same grill so we had to choose the hotpot.
