A bowl of porridge is a simple dish, but difficult to get right and cater to everyone's tastes. Saswick have nailed it for me! The perfect texture and creaminess, with a scattering of mixed seeds, cranberries and honey that tastes like flowers. A bowl of comfort and exactly what I needed today - thank you, chef!

Called in for a lunch after promising my better half we would on several occasions… (She’s a big fan of the shop attached). What a lovely venue! Standards just superb and the team all super friendly and engaged. Obviously really enjoy what they do which can be hard to find nowadays. Lunch was a delight, which we milked a little by adding a beautifully made homemade soup. All in all I see what all the fuss is about locally. Some place for sure. Well done to everyone involved.

Saswick is the place to go for an excellent breakfast and great coffee. After having been away for a week on a school trip, this was the treat that was needed. Excellent service, great breakfast and a proper good hot cup of coffee; just what the doctor ordered! Followed by a browse in the farm shop and the purchase of a great piece of brisket and some excellent fresh eggs. Would highly recommend.

Great cakes, great coffee, great location but customer service shocking. Can only compare to Fawlty Towers today. As a group we were asked to sit outside as twenty in the group of cyclists. There didn't appear to be any organisation at all. Too many errors to list including one couple leaving after a 50 minute wait for coffe and scones. It seemed like every member of staff we encountered was lacking in people skills. In the hospitality trade, if you have a good product, an apology and a smile sorts most issues. Maybe we visited on a bad day ?? As a couple, we will give it a second chance in the next couple of months and hopefully write a more positive review. This is the first negative review I've ever left.

We booked a plot on the caravan area of saswick farm shop in January 2020. We had travelled 2 hours with 3 tired children aged 1, 3 and 11 years old. We arrived late evening and was greeted by an older gentleman who told us we can’t park up on the site now as there has been a problem and we would have to park either on the stone verge of the entrance and exit route (you wouldn’t even be able to put steps to get out your caravan as it would block access for cars), there was constant traffic passing right past the caravan and bright lights, or we could park outside the house on the site for more privacy which we thought would be better. We weren’t happy but thought at least it’s kind of private. We parked up outside the house and unhooked our van, and started getting ready to settle kids when we were greeted by the “owner of the house” who seemed agitated, aggressive and damn right rude! She told us to move our caravan immediately. We explained what the man had said to which she replied “well this is my house!” I don’t want to be looking at a caravan” She then told us to move it under the trees in the entrance and exit drive way. By this point the kids are screaming in the car. We were disgusted and annoyed by this woman’s behaviour. First of all we were not given our plot we had booked, we had no phone call to inform us there was a problem, then told to park on a stone verge next to the entrance and exit way were we could not put steps out and gain entrance to our caravan. There was constant cars passing within inches of our caravan. We were dumped wherever they could put us. We argued about being put here as we wernt happy at all. In the end we were put in a entrance way a meter or so from the donkeys stables. Absolutely disgraceful. The gentleman was a lovely man. So helpful. However, the owner of this “house” who had a disgusting attitude, should be ashamed of herself. I would advise her to go on a customer service course and learn some manners. We were away for my sons birthday which you could of ruined. There was no toilet facilities throughout the night or water. The entire experience was traumatic and stressful. We would not return here again and would advise other caravanners to steer clear!!

Didn't buy anything from the shop but was impressed with the variety of local items on offer. Had to go and feed the donkeys a carrot after... will definitely be coming back!

My wife and I visited Saswick as we had seen and heard good reviews about the shop and restaurant. In the restaurant I ordered the pie of the day which was chicken, ham and mushroom and my wife ordered jacket potatoe with chilli con carne. We also ordered the childrens meal of sausage and chips. It did take a while for the food to come and I had finished my drink. My pie was dry as a bone. So overcooked. The ingredients in them, I could tell, were of good quality so such a shame. My wife's meal was good. There was no one else in the restaurant at the time of ordering so why it had taken so long and was clearley overcooked is a mystery. We did buy a pork pie from the farm shop which was in total contrast..juicy, fresh and delicious.

Visited Sunday lunchtime and wanted to order 2 soup and sandwich upgrade options. Took 2 attempts for the young lady to get the right price after initially charging full price for both soup and a sandwich.

We attended a birthday event at the farm and, although it was a lovely experience and the food was excellent, the service let the place down. It was an afternoon tea which is usually served with tea or coffee. However the cups and saucers weren't set on the tables until after we'd started eating. First came the saucers, then the servers disappeared and came back with lots of cups that were dumped on the saucers with the handles facing everywhere. Then the tea/coffee came which was OK. But then we had to ask for milk (which came in jugs with enough milk for two people on a table for four) followed eventually by a tray full of spoons- one each, by which time the tea was getting cold. Basic stuff that shows that the staff hadn't been trained to set the tables and serve correctly. A shame really because everything else was good.

I'd heard about how nice Saswick Farm was from several friends, so we decided to pay a visit on a cloudy but war day. The location is lovely, we sat outside and could hear the water from the pond as we waited for our food. It did take a while to arrive, and they weren't overly busy, but it was lovely when it came, and good value. I had a battered fish wrap which had been nicely cooked with mushy peas and tartar sauce, and a portion of very nice chips. My wife had the veggie flatbread which she also enjoyed. We bought two desserts to take away and they were equally good!

So lucky that this will be our local farm shop and cafe - we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast, freshly cooked and very tasty. Great coffee and tea too! Although we didn't sample the cakes this time they did look delicious and everything is homemade. Lovely farm shop too where we bought new potatoes freshly dug up that morning, some local cheeses and a huge meringue for desert later on. Can't wait to return and try some more!

Have visited Saswick on a number of occasions and we keep going back - the plan being to work our way through the menu! In reality this would be difficult as there always new 'special' every time we go - often a well known dish but with a 'twist' which keeps it interesting. Whether it's coffee and a cake, breakfast or lunch all are consistently good quality and served piping hot. Staff are friendly and helpful. I think the breakfast is the best in the area and you can very often buy the meat / produce you've enjoyed in the shop on your way out!

Found this place on Facebook and decided to pay a visit. Set in Lancashire countryside so thanks for SatNav. Delightful setting and convivial atmosphere. Had lunch and wanted the breakfast but this is only on until 11.00 am and we were there at 1.00 pm. However I chose a baked potato with chilli and my wife had a cheese and onion omelette, both accompanied by salad. Excellent meals with a cappuccino coffee and pot of tea. Will definitely be going back. Staff were attentive and polite and after the meal we bought a minced steak pie for tea tomorrow in the farm shop. Tables outside for al fresco dining and farm animals there to look at. Beautiful setting.

We've been for breakfast 3 times now and the standard never varies. Excellent. The food is really hot, just like it would be at home. I really can't fault the breakfast at all. Sausage, bacon, tomato, mushroom, black pudding, beans and egg with toast, all perfectly cooked. I also like the fact that the price includes tea or coffee (like a lot of places) but you can "upgrade" to a special coffee like a latte for a small extra charge, 50p.

After visiting Gabriella's (same business owners) across the road and being informed that they had no breakfasts available at midday (wtf) we decided to visit Black Sheep and regretfully I won't be returning. Order placed relatively simply but this is when it went wrong. Waitress took our drinks to wrong table. Waited overly long for breakfast which was also taken to the wrong table. Then no cutlery. No offer of sauces or salt and pepper. I had to go and collect cutlery from another table. Food was cold, poached egg overcooked, bacon undercooked, toast buttered (I'd like to choose whether I have my toast buttered). Honestly was incredibly poor and we chose a local business over Wetherspoons up the way. AVOID!
