Just had coffee but it was excellent

The best apple pie I have ever had and the service was great.

I stopped here for apple pie as it was recommended to us, I have to say it was the best I have had in a long time.

Lovely place for a bite in the social area of Lytham. Menu is varied and a great selection of delicious ice cream 🍦🍨

Lovely and clean establishment. Very friendly and helpful staff. Cheese and onion pie was tasty for lunch with a glass of Prosecco. Second visit but will go again.

Straightforward food cooked and served very well. Been several times before. Always reliably good. Always great value for money.

Kids got some great ice creams from here, finished the day off nicely.

Brilliant cafe & popular, so early breakfast a delight. Wish we could have tried the cakes or ice cream also. Highly recommended.

I work locally so sometimes nip into Chell's as a treat as it's a little expensive for me. Can't fault the food. I had a two scoop ice cream this time. Chocolate and sticky toffee which were both fantastic. I noticed someone had said that Chell's was snobby!... Its Lytham so it will be. Staff are always friendly and helpful in here though 😊

I have to say it was some of the best food that I have ever had in a cafe. Very generous portions . Fresh locally sourced food. I had eggs benidict with delicious hollandasie sauce.and my daughter had the best fresh salmon sandwich that I have ever seen. Good service with pleasant staff in bright clean suroundings. Excellent I shall go again.

Visited this Amazing Cafe today 13 June for lunch after being recommended by another local business (who sold shoes, watches, jewellery, clothes etc) when I asked the gentleman if he could recomend somewhere nice for lunch he gave us suggestions. We arrived at Chells and received a warm, pleasant, friendly welcome from a nice gentleman who said that we could sit where ever we would like to. I ordered fish, chips, mushy peas and tartar sauce. My friend had pan fried Salmon but instead of new potatoes and veg she asked if she could have salad. This was no problem. The food was cooked fresh to order, served in a timely manner, was hot, cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. The young lady waitress and young gentleman waiter were both pleasant and efficient. If you want good quality food, cooked to perfection, at a reasonable price, served by friendly efficient staff, then Chells is the place to visit. Would recomend and return. Many Thanks.

We attended Lytham Festival and the gentleman that served us never uttered a word to us. When he was serving other people he was constantly complaining of how much he hated the festival. If it wasn’t for the festival half the clientele in the establishment wouldn’t have been there. Quick tip for next year. If you despise the festival so much, even though it is good for local business, shut your premises for a week and go on holiday. Then maybe you could crack a smile when serving guests.

Had breakfast at Chells today. Everything was excellent even willing to swap things at no extra cost The young lady who served us was very polite and happy. First time we've had breakfast here although we have had lunch several times. Never disappoints.

First time I've called in, Friday 7th June 2024. Ordered a full English breakfast, tea and toast. Brilliant breakfast and the service was top notch. Very polite and friendly well worth the 5 star ratings I've given this well run shop. Called in again for their homemade ice cream, now I'm not much of an ice cream person but wow this is how it show be made. Believe me, try a double scoop you'll enjoy the experience. Sad that it's my last day at Lytham, but I definitely will be back again early in the morning. Thank you all for you're hard work, it wasn't missed out on us. Keep up the great work. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🤗

This is our go to place for coffee in Lytham. Have eaten breakfast occasionally. The staff are very friendly and service is always with a smile. The food and coffee is the best in Lytham for us.

We ate outside under the awning. It became cold. Our lunch was lovely. I had an excellent prawn sandwich with separate cocktail sauce.

Brilliant place lovely staff I even took home a cinnamon roll as I had one in the tea room and it was yummy well worth a visit

Lovely friendly cafe came across it when we was in a day out, and would highly recommend. We had a pot of tea and freshly backed scone with butter & jam it was delicious. If we visit again would definitely try lunch, as the food looked nicely presented and very appetising.

Great full English breakfast, food nice and hot, and staff very friendly and helpful, very quick service, would recommend and the cafe was very busy.

After trudging round the shops needed pitstop. Called in spur of moment. Very popular. Coffee and a scone. Lovely. Other food looked really nice. Staff very nice. Bit cramped, but hey ho a business has to survive. Would highly recommend.❤️

Beautiful food served by lovely ladies. The Salmon dinner is excellent quality and value. The Ploughman's platter is marvellous. I'm going to chells in future when we visit Lytham. It was busy but they managed to keep, waiting time for food to a good time. Great brew too.

Must be one of the best value for money places to eat in Lytham, staff friendly and attentive, good menu plenty of choice and more to the point the food is served hot and tasty not warm like other places. Will definitely call again.

Only had a cup of tea , but the breakfast food looked very appetising..

We always enjoy the food here but I do wish they would offer chips and not fries. That is the reason I only gave it four stars.

Stopped for a light lunch on a recent visit to Lytham. Service and food were very good and the young man looking after the till on our visit was really chatty and friendly

Called in just for tea and a scone on this first occasion. We had been recommended to visit Chell's and were not disappointed. Very friendly staff, lovely outside seating area and the tea was the best in Lytham. There is an extensive menu which on this occasion we were unable to stay and experience. During our time there we were able to see many of the items from the menu being served and eaten, they looked delicious Have been in many of the cafes and restaurants in Lytham but this is our number 1 👍🎉🎊😋😊

Lovely cafe at end of high street. I try to go there whenever in Lytham. Sandwiches are lovely so are chicken goujons. Coffee and tea are nice too and cake 😊 Yet to have a full dinner but look lovely and a great price. Fabulous! 13 out of 10 score.

Very busy cafe (tells you something) we timed it right to get a table on a Sunday afternoon. I chose the spinach, mushroom & cheese quiche served with fries, salad & coleslaw. Hubby had gammon, egg, fries, coleslaw & salad. We both enjoyed our meals & agreed we would go again next time we are in the area.

My friend and I, enjoy a walk with a coffee in Lytham or St Anne's on a weekly basis. We always try to visit a different independent coffee/tea shop each time, though they have to serve oat 'milk' - 80% of them have no issues with this though some have varying quality - there are so many companies offering alternative 'milks', it is surprising that some places still don't offer oat especially as it has a long shelf life! After a slow start, we waited a good 5 minutes to be served, we ordered an oat flat white (extra hot) and an Americano with hot milk on the side. Each came with a small shortbread heart which was a nice touch, but my flat white was tepid so had to drink it quickly. I realise that I could have mentioned this at the time, but as the staff were not really interested, by the time I managed to get someone's 'eye', my friend had finished her coffee and we were ready to carry on with our walk, so I just asked to pay ! I paid and we went on our way. It wasn't until I was throwing my receipt away once getting home, that I found that I have been charged an extra 50p for the oat 'milk' resulting in my drink costing £3.80 ! I paid a lot less than this in London recently with no surcharges whatsoever ! WHY ? ! Oat 'milk' is readily available and for the amount used in a flat white shouldn't really warrant a surcharge, surely !!! To my knowledge, there is only one other coffee shop in Lytham that charge a surcharge, sadly !

Excellent food and service, all at a decent price.

Sat at a table a couple had just vacated,asked the waitress to wipe the table after it was cleared, no rush. She returned with a cloth and spray bottle,the contents of which was sprayed onto me as well as the table, I said, please spray on the cloth then wipe the table, just got a look of 'how dare you'. Asked if they had any vegan cakes*1 (I can't eat eggs,butter or milk/dairy) was told no,asked if they had any oatmilk for a hot drink,again said I am vegan,*2, and yes,had a hot chocolate, my friend had a cows milk hot chocolate (we're not sure we were served the correct drinks as neither was labelled) waitress said the order was correct, I again said because I'm vegan *3. both had a small biscuit in the saucer,which we both ate. My friend queried whether the biscuits had butter in,was told "probably it's shortbread" I immediately asked why they had served it with a vegan option drink, 3 times I'd told staff. Absolutely disgusting. No excuse for getting food order wrong, also dangerous for me as I'm intolerant to eggs milk etc. I wasn't going to pay because of it but my friend did. Would advise anyone with dietary requirements be very careful here,poor staff communication

Myself and sister go regularly on a Sunday for lunch. Never any different. Food, atmosphere and service is first class. Not rushed, nothing is too much trouble.

What a cafe food excellent service excellent toilets clean. And the price of the meals I don't no how they do it for the money. Such value for money. We keep going back time after time.

Popped in for tea and very nice it was. I had the mince & onion pie with spuds. The other half had cheese pie with chips.

I was very hungry and I had a quick look at the menue and price list, it said fish and chips I was thinking this will be a bit of miracle as its NOT a chippy, the girl said here's your seasoning salt and pepper then i said is there any vinger and she said vinger I said yes ( pretty obvious as I am eating fish and chips) I seen where the vinger was plus all the sauces she FORGOT to mention, the so called fish and chips came they weren't chips they where FRYS !!! when i read threw the menu it dose actually say chipped potatoes ( a cross between chips and frys ) if I wasn't hungry I would have pulled her straight away and said there'd NOT chips, they tasted pretty useless as they where oven freida plus virtually NO POTATO In side , the fish was thin ish and thinnest batter I every seen I my life the mushy peas where below average, got a funny feeling the rest of the food might have been OK as it was quite busy ( it was for more for ice cream and coffee) very clean I side I would try the cafe again but NOT so called fish and CHIPS !!! FRYS !!!

Lovely little tea shop with a great welcome and very popular with locals. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Would certainly recommend and will pop in next time I visit.

... for one particular waitress! Called for coffee and cake one afternoon and sat outside with our dog. A waitress came to take our order and when I asked what cakes they had she gave a very theatrical sigh and said she had "no idea" and I would need to "go and look" for myself! Perhaps all of the above was true but the message might have been improved without the sigh, the shrug and the instruction to look for myself was delivered in a more pleasant manner. A great cafe let down by one particular member of staff.

Excellent, I had fish pie, personally I would have preferred garden peas instead of muchy peas very filling. My husband olso had a different meal was also excellent. Thank you.

A group of friends from Pearls of Poulton WI went for tea and cake- we sat outside- service was good and the cake delish. We have been before on several occasions- always enjoy. Next door is a florist shop- Bond and Bloom- very stylish. A guy from the shop came over to us and kindly presented each lady with a red rose- made our day!! What a lovely gesture. Thanks a bunch!

Just called at Chells for a lunch time meal They were busy as usual so we waited for a table One came available at the back so we sat at this table While we were looking at the menu to choose our meal a member of staff said to us “ this is a table for 4 not for 2 so I can either open the table apart or you can wait until another table is free” This would have created 2 x 2 seaters but put us in the way off the staff coming from the kitchen serving food , What a way to run a business and treat customers this way So we turned and said Sorry you’ve just lost our custom and surprised that is how you treat people So we will not be spending our money at a business that are not concerned about the customer , just about how many bums they can get at a table It makes me wonder if a party of 4 was behind us would they have given that table to them thus excluding us just because we were a couple ? Bad business

Visited today for afternoon tea, was very busy when we arrived but after a short wait was shown to a table. The cafe is spotlessly clean and nicely decorated with plenty of staff, all helpful and friendly. Afternoon tea was served well presented with fabulous deep filled sandwiches, the quality of the food is excellent. I would highly recommend Chell's and will definitely return.
