Sartori in City of London, Westminster

I found this place on a whim after getting my nails done in the area and was craving some great Italian food. I walked in and immediately was welcomed by Carlos, he was very welcoming and kind. He took the time to explain the specials to me as well as give his own recommendations on the food. The service was great and everyone was extremely attentive to me. The food was also amazing as well and the portions made it even better. Overall, I wish I hadn’t found this place so close to leaving London… but I’d def come back in future visits!!

Limited options if you prefer a white sauce. I had the zucchini and porcini pasta. They were fine, but too much garlic for my taste. There is a big step walking in and no accessible bathroom.

Excellent Italian restaurant in the heart of London! The dishes are really good, with authentic flavors that make you feel at home. The menu offers a nice variety of Italian specialities, cooked with quality ingredients. A big plus: the staff is friendly and speaks Italian, which makes the experience even more pleasant. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a corner of Italy in London! Also suitable for children. Average price.

After leaving the nearby Coliseum Theatre, we went to eat at Sartori - and it was great. The food was so delicious and the staff were attentive and efficient, advising on vegan dishes. I had the Scialatielli Melanzana e Provola with spinach instead of mozarella - served piping hot. The olives were delicious, as was the Bruschetta Napoli. All were generous sizes. I can recommend eating at Sartori. Special thanks to Abdula (it was his first day of working at Sartori) and Angelo.

Il prodotto pizza ormai da considerare sdoganato nel senso che ormai (meglio naturalmente) se si sa scegliere si può mangiare una pizza di ottima qualità anche all' estero , è ciò che mi è capitato a Londra incontrando Sartori locale in zona centrale.... prodotti di qualità, maestria ed esperienza nella lavorazione e presentazione.... complimenti davvero..... italiani e non che volete un ottimo pizza napoletana sartori vi aspetto non rimarrete delusi ....perché allora non il massimo dei voti? Manca una birra alla spina e i tavoli sono un po' sacrificati ....ma un problema di facile risoluzione (almeno il primo) ... prezzi nella norma

Fantastic pizza, the real Neapolitan pizza in London. Even better than many “Neapolitan” pizzerias in Italy!!! We've been back more than once and we'll definitely be back, well done guys!!!

“I didn't expect it, congratulations!” this is what I said to the manager of the restaurant after having had dinner with a delicious pizza worthy of the pizzerias of Naples and a dish with aubergines parmigiana, true Italian home made style. To be in a very touristy place you find excellent quality! Ps…watch out for the beers!!…

Excellent Italian restaurant with a wide choice of typical dishes. If you are longing for a good plate of pasta, this is the right place for you. It's not a cheap restaurant, but considering the abundance of portions, the excellent quality of the food and the fact that we are in the center of London, I'd say it's okay.

Delicious food, friendly service - but the toilets need help. We stopped by spontaneously and were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious - the pasta was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. The Pizza was very nice too! The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome right away. The only downside was the location being a bit noisy, and the toilets… well, definitely in need of a refresh and more regular cleaning. A little attention there would really elevate the overall experience!

Very good Italian, like in Italy

I ended up there by chance while I was looking for a restaurant with my family and while looking at the menu we thought we'd stop for lunch. Very right choice if you want Italian food, pizza or pasta, it's the right place, everything is truly delicious, thanks to the waiter Angelo who served us. High price for us Italians but on the other hand you are in London and you cannot expect to eat Italian and spend like at home. Highly recommended!!!

Pizza's were good but my pasta vongole was very salty, pasta too al-dente (not cooked enough) and a very small portion for the price. Service ok.

Delicious food and good service. However, the restaurant can get extremely loud when full as no effort has been made to dampen sound. I was also extremely unimpressed to be surprised with a “10% discretionary service charge” which I then had to negotiate off when paying the bill. This sort of predatory pricing cannot be excused.

My girlfriend and I had dinner at this restaurant twice in 4 days. The pizza is really great!! Even the pasta was al dente and tasty enough! Recommended spaghetti bolognese! Carlo and Angelo number one, very nice! We will definitely be back!

Food is exceptional and the vibe of the restaurant is nice however sometimes the service/waiter can be slow. I asked for a takeaway box twice because she forgot. Overall the restaurant isn’t too bad and would be worth a visit if you’re ever around Leicester Square.

Nice food, real Italians, i enjoyed my time there.

Everything except an original Italian restaurant serving quality food. We order still water and they arrived with an open bottle refilled with tap water , thinking to deal with touristic people. The dough of the pizza was acceptable ,but the tomato sauce was definitely uncooked and mozzarella tasted like chewing gum . Aside the food Service wasn’t meeting ordinary standards (only the waitress with eyeglasses was accurate in doing her job): 0 professionalism, lack of good manners and basic education. In fact,not only the old waiter took the fool around us for the duration of the all dinner ( we didn’t digest ) , but was “ courageous “ to slam on the table in front of me the package of coffe beans after me asking him what brand of coffe they serve . The cleanliness just was okay . We are surprised about the rate of this restaurant I would definitely not recommend.

The 17.95 menu for starter and main course is very affordable, the bruschetta was very good (lots of olive oil though) the fish fillet (sea bass) was excellent. Good value for money. The only downside was the less than friendly service.

We met dear friends who were visiting from the US for dinner at Satori, which is their favourite London restaurant. We were welcomed warmly and the great, friendly service continued throughout. The menu is large and there are so many tasty options. We had a range of meat, pasta and pizza dishes, which everyone enjoyed. Thanks to Angelo and everyone at Satori for a lovely evening!

We gave the restaurant another chance. The food was delicious, as always. The service this time was excellent, very well-chosen, and exactly the kind of atmosphere we'd been looking for in the past. It was like being in Italy for a while, enjoying fresh, homemade, and tasty pasta. The apple cake and ice cream were a total success. We'll be back. PREVIOUS REVIEW ( 4 months ago) We celebrated my friend's birthday this evening, the food was very good, the attention of the staff was also good with one exception, the waitress named Rocio was quite rude to us at all times during our celebration, it was a unpleasant encounter she made it totally uncomfortable for us. From the moment we asked her to bring us the cake she almost throw it on the table even though we were kind and without a problem agreed to pay the £10 for bringing it, so she wasn't doing us any favors since we paid for a service that was included in our restaurant experience. Bad gestures and looks at every moment, not to mention that when she brought us the bill she threw it at us reluctantly and when it was time to pay she made gestures at us with an annoyed face. I think that if she doesn't enjoy her job she should change her profession now. That more than being a pleasant experience, it has been terrible because of her. Making my friend feel bad on her birthday and being that it was still early and there were clients upstairs, we felt like they were forcing us to leave. It's a shame because we had high expectations of the place. I'm not someone who likes to give bad reviews but this occasion deserves it.

A place often walked past, you can easily miss it. Downstairs is surprisingly big with a proper pizza oven built in and constant fresh dough customised per order. Although normally a pasta carb goer, I thought pizza was the way to go. I got a vegetarian one with my favourite aubergine. The dough was not bad, bouncy but the overall pizza was a bit tasteless but somewhat salty. Adding the off coloured chilli oil didn't help much. At least there was a generous serving of cheese. Everyone who has pasta or other dishes enjoyed theirs more than those of us who got pizza. Staff a little inattentive where we had to ask for water a few times but at least the pizza men smiled and we were kept warm by the pizza oven whilst we waited.

It was recommended to us by Gise from @Civitatis and it has really been a success to eat very well in London, the dishes are generous and of a very good product, and they have olé olé olive oil, we have eaten tuna salad, caprese salad and as a main course some al dente ragetta spaghetti and oreccchiette with brutal mushrooms

Went there for lunch on Saturday 8 March 2025. So disappointing. The grilled salmon was very overdone and the underside was a black cinder. I did not send it back but ate what I could as I was pressed for time; I had a meeting to attend. I paid the bill, but complained before leaving. The staff were indifferent, which led me to believe that they were minimum wage agency people brought in for the weekend. I visit theatreland regularly on business. I shall not be patronising this eatery again.

A quick lunch turned into the most wonderful meal with friendly service a buzzing atmosphere and brilliant Italian food.

Decent pizza, good dough and well-balanced toppings. Fresh mushrooms rather than canned would have been appreciated. Average wine Small room and tables very close together, therefore very noisy.

Great friendly little restaurant. I'm reviewing this as an access customer, not great for access, huge step and heavy door to enter restaurant. Loos were down a flight of stairs, no room between tables for a wheelchair. Food was reasonably priced and tasty, staff were friendly.

I adore this place. One of the best Italians in central London, amazing food, good atmosphere. And they sell Pan di Stelle so you know they're legit.

A place with truly italian soul. All Dish ingredients fresh and of very good quality, no wonder the place is always crowded. Despite number of visitors, thanks to the service being very quick, you do not need to wait for a table. I had bruschetta and salmon, which was very tasty. Totally recommend for good italian food and atmosphere.

For me its a go to restaurant if you compare what you get for your money! Its not like other restaurants where you have to think about it twice if you can afford it. They have good pasta & one of the best pizzas in my opinion. So everytime I go to london I will eat once there!

About 20 years ago, I was stopped in Leicester Square by a group of Italian guys handing out flyers and enthusiastically pushing people to try a pizzeria called Sartori. Out of curiosity, we visited the place and found a simple, classic Italian spot—white plastic tables, plain white walls—but the pizza was unforgettable. It was one of the best I’d had in London, served with a friendly, family-run vibe. Fast forward to today: much has changed—the furniture, the decor, and even some of the staff—but Sartori has evolved into a cozy, authentic Italian restaurant. One thing hasn’t changed, though: it still serves some of the best pizza in London. Despite being in an area full of tourist traps, this place remains my trusted go-to for lunch or dinner with friends and colleagues. Thank you, Sartori, for 20 years of consistently great food and memories.

Excellent service from the moment we arrived. Food was very good. We were seated downstairs where when full is quite noisy but apart from that we had a good time there.

I chose this restaurant for a pre theatre dinner for my family on the basis of the good reviews. We were very disappointed. The space is basically a white box with high ceilings and bad lighting - it didn’t create a good atmosphere, and was very noisy, feels more like a canteen. Our waiter was overbearing and made it all about him and his weird aggressive jokes. The food was pretty bad - small overpriced starters, tiny strips of deep-fried calamari and courgettes for £13 - pizza was soggy and doughy with lumps of tasteless cheese, calzone was all dough with a white cream cheese inside. My husband said the wine was nice.

Very delicious Italian food with authentic taste and large portions. If you are looking for a restaurant to have a big meal, this is definitely the right place to choose. Highly recommend Guazzetto di Cozze! The waiter who served us was a serious Italian man. The pasta and desserts he recommended were very good. We will visit again if we come to London again.

We went for Lunch and we had starters and pizzas, so I can only comment on those. They were very good. Service was fast and efficient.

Usually it is good the food there however, last Saturday I have the same meal as usual and I had the whole night a stomach ache.

Incredible pizzas and pastas in an adorable restaurant. A required stop every time I'm in London and the best place to sit is downstairs near the pizza oven.

Restaurant with little charm. The pizza was ok, unfortunately a bit soft. The edge of the pizza is very wide. I like it, my husband doesn't like it. The bruschetta was ok, the tomatoes were a little underseasoned, the bread was very tasty but not toasted enough. The ravioli with spinach and ricotta tasted good, but unfortunately wasn't really hot. The service is very attentive.

It’s ok restaurants nothing to love and nothing to hate , would I go back !!? Probably not

Classic Italian restaurant for foreigners, however for an Italian a disappointment. As soon as we entered we noticed that the place looked more like a canteen than a restaurant, paper napkins and wooden tables 10 centimeters apart from each other. The room on the ground floor seemed better than the one downstairs, but unfortunately they put us on the floor below. There were so many people that we couldn't even speak, we were all glued together and everyone was screaming; in fact we left after 40 minutes of dinner because we couldn't stay inside anymore. As for the food, everything was normal, except for the roast potatoes which were clearly reheated. Friendly staff. I've attached a receipt to help you understand the prices, I'm not complaining about that as it's in central London. I conclude that I am 21 years old and I do almost everything well, but having been to 2 other Italian restaurants in the past few days the comparison is inevitable.

Food amazing such a good price too around 15 pounds a pizza but i cant belive how flipping cold it was the door alway opening and doesnt shut probley everyone on the top floor so close together and the whole top floor was freezing!

Group of 5 visited in December and even though they were absolutely packed with Christmas party groups the service was excellent, very attentive and chatty. The pizza was really good, some of the best I've had - we had 2 individual pizzas and the fancy pants 1m long pizza between us and tiramisu for dessert and everything was spot on. Great lively atmosphere too. Prices surprisingly good (think around £15-17per pizza from memory) for whole of London, let alone central. Highly recommend.

Family pre-theatre dinner just before Christmas. The interiors are high ceilinged and fairly stark, which creates a noisy canteen-like atmosphere. Our waiter was a genial older Italian chap - but a bit overbearing and intrusive. Two starters of Calamari and Aubergine were small. Pizzas and Calzone mains which we found doughy at the edges and soggy in the middle. 17yo son didn’t finish his pizza - which is unheard of…

Brillant food and great wine. Good price as well. Meal for two adults and a child cost £85. Drink and main courses all round. Recommended to other.

I was a little apprehensive as I actually booked this place thinking it was something else, we went along with it anyway. We were sat downstairs which was fine, the tables are very close together though and feels a little uncomfortable. Could do with an update, some of the internals look like they are from the 80s… The server took our order and the starters were with us in minutes, slightly concerned with that but actually they were fantastic! And large portions. The plates were whipped away where completed, I thought we may have a moment to relax and chat but almost instantly the mains were with us. Again, the food was very very nice, lots of flavour and very fresh. As per another review it did feel extremely rushed and like a conveyor belt, we were in and out within 50 minutes. Which doesn’t feel very welcoming, plus the 12.5% service charge (London tax we call it) wasn’t really worth it. I know I could take it off but I normally leave a tip anyway. If you want a quick tasty meal then absolutely go here, if you want a relaxing meal with a chat and nice wine I would suggest going else where.

The food is good, the bill too. But it's not possible to wait 2 hours to eat, plus the place wasn't heated, we had a seat near the window, it was so cold that we ate with our jackets on. We ordered 2 coffees for after dinner, we are still waiting for them...

Such delicious authentic Italian food - ideal pre theatre dinner for me and hubby. Sea bass fillets were very tasty & risotto was enjoyed too.
