i went there today with 7 other friends to eat a PASTA and a lady refused to take our payments! we all had revolut, which is an international british very well known bank, and surprisedly our bank card wasn’t accept in their machine for some reason… ALL of us had 10 thousand pounds at least in your accounts and still their machine wasn’t working, which is funny…. i mean, why did they not even try to restart the machine? of course something was wrong! of course they were in the end of the day (this was around 9:10pm) and they were tired and couldn’t care less, but its upsetting and frustrating, imagine how much the restaurant could earn with 7 people eating and drinking… anyway, we decided to go to la porchetta pollo bar in soho and they accepted REVOLUT and care about customer experience since decades and this pasta unknown restaurant should learn from that! :)

This is such a fun place to visit for lunch. The ambiance is unmatched. There's a lovely plant store at the entrance and lots of fun food options across the 3 levels. We got food from the Thai place and the Indian place. My sisters got the chaat fries with a side of butter sauce and said they were definitely rated 10/10. The jalapeno margaritas and strawberry daiquiris from the taco place are also delicious, and the red curry from the Thai place was everything I hoped it would be. I have a gluten allergy and both the Indian and Thai place had options that were clearly marked and staff that seemed reasonably knowledgeable. I chose to forego a protein option in my Thai curry dish because I don't prefer the gf protein options they had, and when I needed something changed, the server was quick to fix my order. The facility has 2 elevators, but the one that reaches the top floor is out of order as of April 2025 and the stairs are uneven so be very careful on them. The rooftop seating is particularly nice as the inside of the Mercato felt a little warm, but also can't be reached without more stairs. Even if the lift was working, you have to find a staff person with a key because it's locked with signs that say they're only for certain priority clientele.

I'm really sorry to post a negative review because I love this place, but Someone from Mercato should ensure that all food stalls display their prices clearly. I had a disappointing experience at Epic India Food Bindas stall, where my friends were charged an unreasonably high price for a plate of food! They are not displaying prices of certain meals and this clearly become a tourist trap! I’ve shared a full review about Epic India Food Bindas under their Google review page, and hope Mercato’s management takes notice and investigates! There is also another review saying exactly the same thing that was posted about 3 months ago..

Overpriced - £17 for carbonara pasta that tasted like water. They asked if I wanted bacon and mushroom on top and did not mention I will be charged for it, carbonara usually comes with bacon and you shouldn't have to be charged. The pasta was watery, I did not taste any cheese, the bacon was too salty and the pasta was not cooked properly. It took so long to prepare! Waste of money!!

Gastronomic market. Very nice building, well restored, preserving the old church. There are tables in the center, it is surrounded by establishments that represent part of the world's cuisine. In each location you order the dish/drink/dessert that you most want, they give you a pager and when your order is ready they notify you. It also has a small terrace to eat outside on sunny days, the place has two floors and an underground tunnel with gastronomic establishments, even a very nice shop at the entrance with plants and more. It is undoubtedly a success if you go with a group of friends or family, since you have many options to eat. In our case we tried a lot of dishes and desserts (sorry for not taking more photos, we had enough 😋)

Ancient church now deconsecrated and dedicated to a market. On different floors there are different culinary options, capable of satisfying all tastes and all ages. If you go upstairs, and if the weather permits, explore the small terrace available for customers; an ideal place to enjoy a break with friends. In this case however, remember that the space is small and that available seats are sold out! In any case, an experience recommended to anyone who happens to be passing through the area!

I recently visited Mercato Mayfair and tried the pasta, and I have to say—it was excellent. The pasta was perfectly cooked, maintaining a nice al dente texture, and the sauce was flavorful without being overwhelming. I could tell the ingredients were fresh, and the dish had a great balance of seasoning and richness. Whether it was a classic tomato-based sauce, a creamy option, or something more unique, it was evident that a lot of thought went into the preparation. Beyond the food, the setting of Mercato Mayfair made the experience even more enjoyable. Located inside a beautifully restored church, the high ceilings, stained glass windows, and elegant decor created a unique atmosphere. It’s not every day that you get to enjoy a meal in such a grand yet cozy environment. The food hall had a lively yet relaxed vibe, making it a great place to grab a meal with friends or even dine solo. One thing I appreciated was the variety of options available. While I stuck with pasta, I noticed many other stalls offering everything from Asian street food to freshly baked goods. It’s a great spot if you’re with a group and everyone wants something different. Overall, my experience at Mercato Mayfair was fantastic. The combination of great food and an incredible setting makes it a must-visit in London. If you’re a fan of pasta, I’d highly recommend trying it here. I’ll definitely be going back to explore more of their menu!

The beautiful chruch with its stained glass windows is amazing to sit in and have food. I kept on thinking Jesus at the marketplace in a church, turning over market stalls. I grew up Christian, so this made it all the more tantalising to eat there, especially the bar in the altar taboo. There is a huge variety of food places and drinks really fun place. Cause of London and the location, the food is a bit on the pricey side, but you are paying extra for the cool venue. The upstairs was good and they had a terrace which I so want to go to in the summer. I went for the calzone, and it was £15 and was very filling. The bar in the altar was nice they gave table water with ice and a slice a lemon 🍋 which I always appreciate.

The location is very suggestive, unique and worth a visit. We took a Neapolitan pizza (good) and a pad thai (absolutely not to take). A beer at the kraft bar and it cost around 40 pounds...high prices, maybe it's worth a ride to have a drink and take some photos. On my way out I noticed an inscription stating that the church housed the tombs of Sir Hudson Lowe (governor of St Helena at the time of Napoleon's exile) and his wife Susan......... It is natural to wonder where the bodies were transferred.....

Edit: the response to my post says "Dear H... there is no H in my name. It shows the lack of care with regards to the customer experience. DON'T RECCOMED AT ALL! It was an unfortunately overall terrible experience. Overly crowded... rook us 15 minutes to find a table for 2. The lift is out of order and my elderly mom had about 25 steps to climb. Got margaritas, and they filled the glass 2/3 full for 12£, then got dumplings and asked for chili oil on the side. They gave me no chili oil. By the time i realized, i spent 5 minutes fighting my way to my table. I was sat next to one of the food stalls and they smoked meat next to us making the smell and heat unbearable. On top of that we got told to put our waterbottle away because it's not allowed. We had 55£ of food and drink on the table and my mom needed to take her medicine. I guess they wanted us to buy their water on top of the exorbitant prices of everything else. To top it all off, the fire alarms went off while in the toilet area and the noise nearly gave everyone a heart attack. I wish I could take this entire experience back and have gone to Selfridges food hall next door instead.

Visited in August 2023 - Sensibly the worst stall you could try at Mercato Mayfair (Maylaisian food). The food is far from exceptional, with a very long wait and expensive for what is served. Surprisingly, there was no one around... everyone seemed to have figured that out. While water bottles are already confiscated at the entrance, this is not the stand where you can refresh unless you're willing to pay £5 for a carafe. Upon returning our dishes because no service was provided, one of the few customers there, who had just ordered the same thing, had a completely different content on his plate. Visited in January 2025 – A nice surprise to see that this stand has been removed. Instead, there’s now an Indian street food corner that is really good. The prices are still quite high, but the unique setting makes it worth it !

Mercato Mayfair is certainly a unique and visually stunning dining spot, set inside a former church with its beautiful stained-glass windows still intact. The atmosphere is truly special, and enjoying food against this historic backdrop adds to the experience. That said, the biggest downside is overcrowding. Finding a space for more than a couple of people is a real challenge, with many tables booked but sitting empty well past their designated times, which was frustrating. It takes away from the otherwise vibrant and social setting. The food variety is strong, with a great mix of cuisines, but some stalls felt overpriced for what they were offering. I opted for the Duck Ramen, which was delightful—rich broth, tender duck, and well-balanced flavors made it a real highlight. For dessert, I had Italian gelato, which, while not the most mind-blowing I’ve had, was still tasty. I’d especially recommend the pistachio flavor, which was smooth and full of nutty depth. Another downside is that there didn’t seem to be anywhere to get a simple, standard soft drink—if you just want a Coca-Cola or something similar, you're out of luck. Overall, it’s a cool spot to visit once, especially for the setting, but the hassle of seating and pricing means I wouldn’t rush back. Google doesn't allow half stars, but I would say 3.5/5

We were given an old menu which gave away the price increases that must have happened lately including the steak increasing from £24 to £28 but the steak was prepared and presented worse than the last time I visited. There was a lack of a good vegetarian pasta option in our view. No water offered to the table for a long time. Had to ask for our drinks a few times. White veal pasta was delicious. We were asked by the waitress to sing happy birthday to the next door table which was a bit intrusive. Probably would have done it anyway but being asked to was a bit odd. Just didn’t feel as good as I hoped it would all together.
