What an incredible concept — a stunning church turned into a buzzing food hall with dishes from around the world! The atmosphere is vibrant (a bit loud when it gets busy), but it’s a fantastic way to bring people together in such a beautiful space. Great food, great vibes, and definitely not your typical church experience.

A crazy idea and atmosphere: eating in a former church converted into a food market is already an experience in itself. The place is magnificent, original, and full of life. The food is good and quite affordable, with a good selection. However, as in many markets of this type, the wait can be long and the noise quite loud. If you're looking for a quiet place, this is definitely not it. It reminded me a lot of La Felicità in Paris: same energy, same friendly and lively atmosphere. A place to try at least once!

Our first stop in London after dropping off luggage was to Mercato Mayfair. We had read so much about this place and seemed so much social media. We couldn't miss an opportunity to spend some time here. Who doesn't love enjoying delicious food surrounded by stained glass windows in a renovated church? Stunning. Absolutely exquisite. We came back 3x to try different places to eat and shop. Yummy gelato, DezAmore and coffee with desserts 🍨

A hidden gem in the heart of Mayfair. Mercato Mayfair is a food market inside a former church, which makes it even more impressive. There are food stalls from all over the world, from Italian pasta to Asian dumplings, all of the highest quality. The atmosphere is super relaxed, with soft music, warm lights, and jaw-dropping architecture. We tried some cocktails on the rooftop and they were the best of the trip. It's ideal to go with friends, a couple, or even just to sit and enjoy. The prices are good for London and the area it's located in. Without a doubt, a place that combines history, food, and good vibes in one place. Highly recommended if you're passing through the city!

Admittedly, the ambiance is unusual. But everything else is rather ordinary, and the culinary offerings are slightly above the level of fast food. However, nothing offered here wouldn't be available in a regular restaurant. However, the food isn't truly good. The pasta dishes, in particular, don't bear much resemblance to authentic Italian cuisine. I've had much better food in London.

Pasta at Hand Made Pasta was really quite bad. Tagliatelle with burrata was served without the burrata- had to return it for them to add it, and without a word of apology. The casarecce carbonara was tasteless bland cafeteria slosh. And one has to pay extra to add parmesan cheese (unheard of in any authentic pasta outlet!) A totally un-Italian experience from a bunch of obvious mercenary amateurs. The only plus was the lovely church setting. Should've tried the pizza at the opposite stall, looked a lot more appealing.

I was really looking forward to finally enjoying an evening at Mercato Mayfair with my friends, especially with all the great things I’d heard. Unfortunately, my experience at Club Mexicana left me genuinely frustrated and disappointed. We arrived with high hopes for some delicious food and drinks. But after waiting for 15 minutes in front of the counter, we were abruptly told that they were no longer serving food – at just 8:00 PM! No warning, no updates during the wait, and worse, no apology. The bartender’s attitude was dismissive and rude, which made the whole experience even more upsetting. Running out of food that early, without any clear communication, and showing zero regard for customer service is just not acceptable – especially at a venue like Mercato Mayfair that prides itself on offering quality food experiences.

After exploring London, we found ourselves at Mercato Mayfair, a stunning food hall set within a beautifully restored church. The ambiance alone is worth the visit, stained glass windows, ambient lighting, and a buzz of culinary activity that feels both reverent and lively. We decided to try Pad Thai House on the first floor, and it was a delightful choice. The red curry was the star of the evening, rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors that warmed us from the inside out. It was evident that fresh ingredients and authentic recipes are at the heart of their cooking. The staff were friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. It’s not every day you enjoy a meal that feels both comforting and elevated, all within such a unique setting.

The Mayfair is a brilliant idea: using the structure of a deconsecrated church to give space to a street food market. The solemn atmosphere mixes, therefore, with the goodness of the food. The cuisine is all international, from Neapolitan pizza, to Chinese cuisine, to Indian to Hispanic. I tried both the bao and the ice cream here: the bao were ok, nothing incredible, the ice cream, to my surprise, very good. Prices a little high but in line with the city. Atmosphere and presentation. - Cleanliness: The food area, good, there are a lot of staff cleaning. It is the interior of a church so it is very comfortable. The problem is in the bathroom drain that smells like mine, curiously the bathroom itself doesn't smell like anything, maybe it's the drainage. - Decoration: In good taste, the fact that it is an old church gives it a lot of aura, the premises also take care of their image. Comfort: Enough with the tables in the center and a small hall. Surrounded by all options on both the ground and first floors. - Music and lighting: No music, the noise of the place is enough, the lighting is typical of stained glass windows Service. - Staff attention: Normal, you arrive, you order, you pay, they give you a sensor and you go to wait. Mamon the guy from the bar in the back, but he's English, I think that's his way of being, nothing that cuts him off. - Waiting time: Minimal, it may take a while to find a table but nothing to complain about. Food and drink. - Presentation: The pasta is well plated, the pizza as it is. - Flavor and quality: The pasta (rabioles) a little flat, rescued by the extra saltiness of the anchovies in the pizza more than by itself. The napo pizza with good crust (corniccione) and a memorable cheese. Light and firm. - Variety: Chingos, there is Italian, gringa, Texmex, sea, depending on your taste, the colors and the locals. - Portions: Fair. - Drinks: Two bars at the back, I got a bad looking "bartender", I don't care, he served me quickly. Value for money. It may seem a little more expensive for the location but let's say it's understandable and the increase is not exaggerated either. The food we selected fit the bill quite well. Extras. - Other options: Everything from nachos, to lobster rolls, to pizza and ramen. Everything in street mode, nothing pretentious. Reservations and accessibility: No reservation is necessary, it has an elevator and ramps as far as I remember. Payment methods: Card almost required. It is not a total tourist trap, it is a good place to go to eat after getting a little off the busiest street in London.

For years, I’ve been bouncing between my all-time favorites—Camden Market and Borough Market. This time, since I was shopping in Central London, my partner and I decided to finally check out Mercato Mayfair. The atmosphere had already caught my attention—it’s such a unique concept. They’ve turned a church into a food court, making it not only a place of historical significance but also a functional space. I’d never seen a food market inside a church before, so I found it super cool, though I can understand how some might feel differently about it. We ordered mango margaritas and a variety of tacos from Club Mexicana, pad thai with prawns and peanut satay chicken skewers from Pad Thai House, and a lobster roll from Molo Mayfair. Our favorites were definitely the Thai food and the mango margarita. The tacos were underwhelming, and unfortunately, the lobster roll was tiny for the price and not very flavorful. If I come back, I’d definitely want to try the Italian kitchen downstairs—it looked promising.

Just say this is for Mr Francatelli who have taken over the restaurant. Excellent starter and main and very good staff, attentive when needed but happy to leave me in peace.
