We liked it very much, we went on a Sunday evening and it was quiet, many of the appetizers were not served because it was a quiet day, I agree. We were very pleased with the taste of the appetizers we bought, but I expected the portion to be a little larger, the fish was very fresh and delicious. It's a place I can recommend with its ambiance and friendly staff. Hope to see you again soon.

The restaurant is a fish restaurant. The appetizers, fish varieties and drinks are of very high quality. The restaurant staff seems friendly and sincere. There is also live music on certain days. The price can be considered reasonable. I definitely recommend it.

I've been wanting to check out Sariyer Fish Restaurant since I moved to London, and I finally got around to it today. It was a nice surprise to find Black Sea fried anchovies on the menu right here in the middle of London. Even better, they were served crispy and cooked in clean oil, which made it even more enjoyable. We got there early, around 6 PM, but were still warmly welcomed. Everything was super fresh and freshly made. It was also really nice to see that the kitchen was run entirely by women. Everything was fantastic, thanks a lot.

We were there for a cousin's surprise birthday. The evening started well enough. We had an area downstairs where we could play our own music. The waitress was great managing just over 20 people. She took our orders down and wrote our names next to them. Our starters came and most of it was okay. The prawns were overcooked, hummus was nice and they gave us various dips to try they were okay. What happened next was a disaster. We didn't get our main courses until close to 10pm . They didn't have enough seabass but only told us when they started to serve the mains. My tuna fillet was cold. I asked for boiled potatoes and they came out cold. Others complained theirs were inadequate. Cold food, incomplete plates, plates missing. Luckily the birthday girl shared salmon fro somebody else. Thankfully the birthday girl was so happy with everything else she was past caring! I don't know how the waitress managed to do her job. The problem was, with the kitchen. They never told her what was left but she didn't realise that she had not brought down all the food orders. We had a few at time without the food. But avoid at all costs. Food shocking. Menu is not great very limited. Goodish service for a hectic waitress. Wine choice is boring and uninspiring. No dessert menu ( we did have birthday cake! ) though. We enjoyed it with music we played. Don't ever visit there. They have a lot to learn about running a restaurant well. They will lose more customers if they carry on like this. This is 1 of the worst places I've eaten in and I'm definitely not returning. It needs a good clearout and refurbishment and enough food especially when you know you have a large party coming.

I didn't want to write this, but Sariyer Balikcisi, which we enjoyed going to for years, is now over for us. If you want, make the appetizer plates a little smaller and even serve them in hazelnut shells. There was no calamari, the octopus was not marinated well, the Black Sea anchovies came deep fried rather than laid out in a pan, and they came in so little quantity that we had to serve two plates of many appetizers. I'm sorry, but paying £85 per person for appetizers and small raki is being ripped off. It's a shame to see you manage your father's inheritance in this way.

It is the fish restaurant that quite similar in Turkey. You can find ‘little’ fish like hamsi or istavrit. Service is so fast and crew is very friendly. Live music facilities on Saturday.

We last ate at Sariyer Balik about 20 years ago and we definitely won´t leave such a gap again. It´s even better than had we remebered. Such magnifiently fresh fish, prepared wiuth care and skill by sympathetic people and served in generous portions in a friendly family run restaurant. I especially recommend the red mullet, so fresh that their heads were a sucullent joy to eat, the octopus, anchovies, garlic prawns and salads. In fact everything we ate. My husband, Andy, and I will be back much sooner than later, thank you very much to all involved in our delicious, mood enhancing meal yesterday afternoon. Love Catherine

It was by far one of the best restaurants i have ever been to. Everything tasted so fresh and it was seriously unbelievable. The host was very welcoming and she was the cook at the same time and she literally has everything that it takes to run a place like this. Delicious mezes and delicious seafood. I seriously can't describe it anymore. Will definitely come back here again.

Hidden prices charged for music! We paid £85 pp for ordinary mezzes, some good fish, and 105 cc of raki ( one large and one medium tekirdag raki). Also, the seating area downstairs was cold. The music band was good. However, it was expensive and not worth it.

Came here with our friends last week. The atmosphere, food, staff everything was amazing. It felt like we were home. We’d like to thank everyone for the amazing service and their thoughtfulness. We’ll be going again this week for the live music. Highly recommend, one of my favourite restaurants in London.

What an amazing find! Thanks to my friend who visited this cute family-run seafood restaurant, we came tonight for a lovely home cooked food from the starters to the main course and dessert. Everything is so fresh, bursting of flavours and really well prepared. In a nice and cosy atmosphere with ambient music and lovely decor, it makes you feel like you are by the sea in a fisherman’s hut but in the heart of London. The owners are the most hospitable couple you can wish for, we felt like we were guests at their home not just the restaurant. To start we had fresh soft Turkish bread and a selection of mezze with yoghurt, garlic courgettes, spinach, aubergine dip, stuffed pepper dolma, chilly butter king prawns, grilled calamari, yum yum. For mains we had the bbq grilled sea bass, and sea bream, as well as the sea bass in butter tomato sauce and fresh herbs. Everything was cooked to perfection. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and you get a lot more for what you pay for. Can’t wait to go there again.

Too small I felt claustrophobic.over priced for what it is honestly. Food was not great music was good waiter was struggling to get past as it was too small so kept nudging my chair.

At first glance it has a very authentic decoration, tiny but cosy ambient. There is a reasonable seafood menu, with acceptable prices too. Cold and hot starters were very delicious, but can't say the same for the main course. The fish I had was not very well executed. Far too salty, overly fried dry. Apparently their pos machine was down, had to pay cash only. I kindly asked for the receipt and the staff start arguing and shouting each other. The waiter told me the chip and pin is not working, they can't provide the receipt. Kindly mentioned they have to have a working till, chip and pin is just for card transactions. The guy got aggressive and intimidatingly asked me if I am looking for trouble. I asked lastly how they claim their TAX without printing the receipts? That's when he starts closing the distances and faces me during the pandemic without a mask. I left the premises immediately to avoid any unwanted fights. Sadly excessive aggression for a business which is trading over 18 years. I was speaking so calmly and never lost my temper, did not deserve to confronting that rudeness and reckless behaviour after a nice eat out.

Good restaurant and a truly familiar environment. Recommended for those who love fish and don't want to compromise on quality even if they make you wait a little bit

Absolutamente terrible experiencia:  1) Les llevó 1 hora servir nuestro plato principal  2) Solo el Raki más caro estaba disponible. Esto no es una coincidencia, esto le sucedió a otra persona unas semanas antes.  3) Nos cobraron 24 extra. Esto fue totalmente desconocido. Inflamaron la cuenta por una extraña razón. Cuando examiné la factura con el gerente, se disculparon mucho y le quitaron el monto de la factura. En cuanto a la calidad de la comida, fue totalmente promedio. ¡NUNCA VISITARÁS ESTE LUGAR DE NUEVO! ! ! !

We were curious to try this place, as it looked very genuine and different. We have had the worst experience in a restaurant in London. Service was incredibly bad (they asked 3 times what we ordered, after apparently writing it down), we waited more than one hour for the starters and they didn’t have what we asked, instead of telling it promptly they said after 45 minutes, we said we didn’t want the mains for the previous long wait, so we asked for the bill, which was higher than expected (DIFFERENT prices than in the menu). Horrible experience in a restaurant. Please don’t ever bother yourself to go there.

I have only been here the once but it was well worth it. The food and service are top quality. I have eaten in Michelin star places and this just a good if not better. It's a small quaint family owned place. The charcoal grilled bream, squid and salad I had were just Heavenly. You are served by the Turkish owner who can't do enough for you. A real treat.

The girlfriend and I cannot speak highly enough about our evening. The food was excellent, the service made us feel very special and we loved the nautical decor. The staff were attentive and very friendly. We will be going back and it comes highly recommended from us.

We went for dinner, myself and my partner. We chose the place mainly because we were near, also because all the good reviews. Considering our experience, possibly most of them are fake.We decided to go for the seafood platter mezze to share, priced £19.50. As we are regular to Turkish restaurants in the area, and we didn’t want to stuff ourselves, we only ordered that and some hummus, as we imagined that for the price of the mezze would be big enough. And turkish restaurants are popular for being generous with their portions, something we have experienced many times ourselves.Hummus was served, with cold dry bread, hummus was nothing especial, I would even say it was some hummus you can get in any off licence nearby.But when the mezze for 2 arrived, we were shocked. Literally, 6 fried mussels, 6 calamari rings and 4 prawns. I mean I could understand they charge £12 for that, but definitely not £20. Realising how overpriced it was, we decided not to order more, and left hungry. Big disappointment especially after reading the good reviews. Not good value for money at all.

It has always been such a good atmosphere here. Good cold starters good raki. Good service. (Now we became friends) Highly recommended.

All positive reviews of this sea-food restaurant are fake. What can I say? The atmosphere is tired, Dishes are seriously over-priced as portions are miniscule. The waiters tried to hurry us from the minute we sat down and it wasn't even 9 pm on a weekend. I even watched as the cook dropped some sea food out of the frying pan onto the dirty stove. He then picked it up with his fingers and threw it onto the serving dish.

Small, intimate fish restaurant. Perfect place for a quiet evening out in friendly surroundings. Always welcoming, and food can be seen being prepared too. Good value, open late as well, which works for me!

It’s a great seafood restaurant. It’s small inside , walls are covered with fishnets and it is very authentic. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Food is great! We had hamsi and levrek, both were fresh and very delicious.

Después de leer algunas reseñas en este sitio decidimos visitar este restaurante local turca de pescado. Estamos bastante en la comida turca y pescado en particular así que pensamos que sería para un regalo. Por desgracia la experiencia no a la altura del bombo en aquí. El ambiente era normalito. . No está mal pero nada. a destacar. La comida también estaba bien, pero en la noche visitamos había muy poco pescado a elegir y el pescado que tenía en la media. Sin embargo, mi mayor queja es el tiempo que tardamos en conseguir comida! ! ! Ahora es recordar y pescado pescado no tome tanto tiempo para cocinar. Los aperitivos llevó al menos 25 minutos para llegar, aunque les dijeron que estaban felices de tenerlos con nuestra meze frío. Entonces esperamos lo que debe haber sido de unos 45 minutos. . Sí, 45 minutos para nuestro plato principal. Yo estaba al borde de salir. Cuando llegue no es acompañado por nada más que un poco cansado de mierda (ensalada) en un lado y cuando la parte es de imitación de lubina (sea que es) que sólo es del tamaño de un filete de salmón de tamaño es apenas dejan una sensación de satisfacción. Cuando llegó la factura estaba sorprendido de que esta comida mediocre hubiera costado mucho. Si hubiera estado fuera de este mundo me hubiera encantado con el coste e incluso la espera pero créeme, esta comida no es realmente vale la pena.

If you haven't tried tiger prawns you are missing out. Very traditional Turkish Raki Meze restaurant with great atmosphere and they make you feel you are at home.

The fish here is always fresh and cooked perfectly, the salads also fresh and varied. The service is trypical warm, Turkish hospitality and very attentive. Not great for vegetarians though.

This is a nice cosy place with a lot of fish selection and decent cold and hot starters. We had a number of cold & hot appetizers, red mullet & sea bass as main dishes. Everything was quite good. It's a little on the expensive side for what's offered.

I'm not too familiar with this neighborhood and have only come to check out this restaurant which I'm glad I have. Don't expect anything fancy but just delicious, authentic Turkish food in a warm, old, fishermen's type of atmosphere. The mezes being exactly like you'd expect to have them in Turkey and perfectly grilled fish (the Turkish way) will remind you Turkish cuisine is not about a fast kebab. I've found the upstairs tables to be better with retro Turkish pop music (best companion to raki dinners) playing rather than the loud and a more Arabic inspired music downstairs. Good option for Turks who crave home food or anyone who wants to try authentic Turkish food.

This is a great neighbourhood restaurant and worth a visit even if you don't live nearby. The service is excellent - staff are always very friendly and welcoming, even if, unlike most of the clientele, you aren't Turkish. The cold mezes are consistently excellent, the bread light, warm and crispy (and endless!) and the fish fresh and very well cooked. The food is also good value - although I would always recommend having starters as the fish courses come only with a side salad (and that lovely bread, of course!). The only possible cause for complaint is that the place doesn't cater for non fish-eaters, so bear that in mind if coming with larger party or aren't sure if all your guests like fish.

What a lovely surprise!! Such a small, cozy, lively place! I would say that it was the best fish I have ever had in UK! I am a fan of a seafood so I am quiet experienced seafood eater;)) 10 points! So much worth visiting and I am definitely coming back!

This is a lovely little Turkish fish restaurant in Green Lanes. We sat upstairs which was very cosy. There is probably only room for 20. The starters is the most substantial part of the meal so order a lot!! The vodka battered calamari was probably the best calamari I've ever had. The mains are all fish and that is pretty much all you get - a piece of fish. However it's so well cooked and with the unlimited fresh bread it is very filling.The service is slightly random. We asked for a dessert menu only to be told they don't do desserts. However then a complementary pudding arrived. We also decided our starters before our mains at which point all but one menu was taken away. It all sounds rude but it is all done with such a friendly manner you just go with it and it adds to the charm.Price wise it is very reasonable. We will definitely be running back!!

My daughter brought me here for an early supper. I had never eaten Turkish seafood before, and actually wanted meat. It was an excellent meal - king prawns then bass (with various bits and bobs "on the house"). The owner was attentive and charming. No attempt was made to put lights on as it fell dark, save a tiny candle, and it was really relaxing and Mediterranean. Full marks. With drinks less than £50.

Have been here twice now and loved it both times. Kitsch decor and a tiny dining room with a great host. We had two cold starters, one of which was complimentary and the other was a yoghurt and aubergine dip which we were recommended and which was completely delicious. Then tiger prawns with chilli and garlic (sublime) and then char grilled fillet of seabass with salad and potatoes. So fresh and beautifully cooked. All washed down with a fab Turkish white wine. Perfect.

We've been to this place about 5 times so far, including 3 times with my wife's fussy Italian parents when they've been visiting. Deceptively roomy (we only realised they had a downstairs on our 5th visit) and popular with the local Turkish community, this is a real local find. When you arrive, they let you know what fish is particularly good that day, and they're never wrong! They always bring salad and bread with the main courses too, so if you over-order on the starters (like we tend to) you end up pretty full. And the owner usually comes around at some point to check everything's ok, which we appreciate! It's also open late which is quite hard to find in London (although easier amongst the Turkish places on Green Lanes etc)Happy to have Sariyer Balik just around the corner!

A great little find... The fish was fresh and excellent and very traditional, lots to choose from and they are prepared to deviate from their menu if you wish to have a selection of starters or mains staff are friendly and not too pricey...what more can you ask for

I have visited this restaurant recently. Again, the best fish restaurant in town. The hot and cold mezzes are really delicious. Most importantly, you had to pay your bill cash and they did not accept credit card or debit card. Recently, they started to use a POS machine which is allowing you to pay with your card, except AMEX.My recommendation is to start with cold meze + Hamsi tava + and sea bream.

E ci è stato detto solo dopo che avevamo iniziato a mangiare un piccolo antipasto offerto dalla casa. Così ci siamo sentite obbligate a fermarci ed a ripiegare su qualcos'altro... un ristorante serio deve informare subito il cliente. Gentile il proprietario, buono il salmone alla griglia che ho assaggiato, ma quanto accaduto non può farmelo considerare un buon ristorante.

I went there last night with my friends. Surprisingly, it was truly exceptional. I have said 'surprisingly' because I was expecting it to be an average restaurant. For a moment, I felt like having a meal in one of the local restaurants by the Mediterranean coast. Delicious mezes, hot starters, fresh fish and crunchy salad and of course the Turkish raki will take me back there again very soon. I can't make any comment on the cost, because I wasn't the one who paid the bill :)

I'd walked past this restaurant a few times and finally ventured in with a friend last night. We were greeted by the very friendly owner and shown to our seats, surrounded by fishing nets and lots of interesting treasures and trinkets. The owner took the time to explain each dish to us and made a recommendation on both food and wine. The fish dishes were very tasty and enhanced by the friendly, lively atmosphere and fun decor. It's not the cheapest of restaurants but is definitely good value. We both really enjoyed the food and chat with the owners, and will be going back soon!

This little restaurant serves good fish dishes and a nice selection of fish and non fish starters. The interior is cosy and the decor could be described as retro! The service is friendly. This is not the cheapest of restaurants and other than the starters there are no veggie options, but it is good for fish lovers.

Since the new management has taking over, I'v seen a jump in the quality of service and portions offered. This hidden fish restaurant is surely the best value for money fish restaurant i've been to and I sure cant wait to go back. I sure can have a HUGE feast just on the starters and the soft warm Turkish pide:)As for the night parties! Well this kind of entertainment is unique to London. Live music with a authentic Turkish twist is what money cant buy!!

My grilled sea-bass was absolutely supreme, fresh and delicate. And the hot selection of starters, including battered mussels, calamari, and shrimps, was delicious. I asked the owner for a suggestion and he didn't let me down. He also spent some time with us at the table at the end of the dinner and offered us a little desert.The service is slow but we received a free appetizer while we were waiting and the fish was so fresh that it was way worth it! ps: the decor is kitsch but definitely adds that extra touch!

Second visit and the food was really good on both ocassions. Nice starters but great fish grills for main meals. Good wines too.There was also a live band playing classical Turkish music. Didn't book on second visit, ended up sitting right next to the band, so it was a little too loud.Will definitely go again for a delicous fish meal.

This is a family run business.Very friendly people and relaxed atmosphere. Turkish classical music in the back ground with a beatiful creative decoration takes you away from your daily stress. Owners are very careful with what they offer. They would not serve you anything they would not eat. The menu is not similar for to French seafood (snails, oyster, etc). It is more based on fish products.As usual we have started with cold and hot meze plates. All were delicious as they are prepared freshly inhouse. Pan fried sardinen has followed our starters. I strongly recommend you to drink raki ( double shot with ice) with your meal as it just fits to the whole occasion. We finished the evening with fresh sea breams and salad. Whole evening for 3 people costed £95 ( including 3 glasses double shot raki and 2 large glass of wine) which I think is really fair for what you get.I would definitely recommend you to book a table as they can get quite busy over the weekend ( especially if there is a live performance -fasil-), however bring cash with you as they do not accept credit or debit card. I will definitely go again!

Very nice people and a Relaxing athmosphere. The food was delish and we had fun so highly recommend it!

Food was appalling: bland starters, deep-friend seafood and extremely tired fish. Very poor quality wine served to some of our group costing £14. Small glass of lager was £3.50. Staff ignored requests for tap water, despite us all ordering alcoholic drinks in addition to this. Overall: best avoided as there are many excellent Turkish restaurants in north and east London.
