It is absolutely the best meat I've ever had in London so far! Perfectly cooked, well presented, absolutely flavourful! As a starter I loved the leek which is the most underrated vegetable but they made it beautifully! It is very pricey tho! We've spent 100£ per person!

The best steaks I've had in London. Great service from our waiter who chose two cracking wines to go with the food. Quite pricey place so if your on a budget be mindful. All in all a must visit to get the Basque experience. Please ensure to try the cheesecake!

We had 4 people. Ordered tasting menu for 2 people, and two ordered separate entrees: cod and duck breast. Duck breast was the only decent option out of all dishes we ordered. Cod both in tasting menu and as an entree was overcooked and tasted nothing but rubbery and too fishy. Steak was served as blue without asking of desired doneness. No seasoning as salt or pepper was offered. It was supposed to be served on warm plates but by the time steak came plates were cold. The meat was not as tender or buttery as I would expect. Been to many similar hi-end places in US and Japan, not comparable. On the positive side amount of food in tasting menu is very generous. Runner spilled the water all over and didn’t apologize or replace the bottle. Waiters all speak too quietly and we had to ask twice all the time.

The steak was really good, and unusually for a steak restaurant we also had 3 exceptional desserts. Some bugbears: - the overheard lighting makes you feel a bit like you're in a motorway service station - there is only one women's loo (also doubling up as the disabled) but multiple men's cubicles. Get ready to queue ladies. - the only potato side dish (wedges) is not particularly delicious and is fairly unseasoned - there's also no salt or pepper on the tables.

Truly excellent steak, one of the best I’ve ever had in London. The wine list is extensive with many options by the glass. Our server was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. We came here midweek at 6pm and it was empty, but by 7pm it was full. Definitely worth booking in advance.

Very very poor value for money. The £42 sirloin was probably the smallest sirloin I have ever had and was maybe150 grams at best. You'd be far better off going to Hawksmoor or Blacklock. Good portion size for the sides (which weren't amazing admittedly) and service was decent however.

After reading positive comments online, we decided to have my birthday dinner at Sagardi this year. We usually celebrate at our favourite restaurants, but this time, we wanted to try something different. As a foodie who loves to cook, I can wholeheartedly say that, taste-wise, this restaurant is below average. You can get a much better steak at a good gastropub. The cheesecake, which they seemed very proud of, was disappointing—more like warm cream cheese than an actual cheesecake. We paid £280 for two adults and one child, which felt overpriced given the experience. Although the restaurant was quite empty, the service was slow, and the food did not live up to expectations. It was a huge disappointment for us. I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are many better places in London where you can enjoy much better food for a more reasonable price.

Poor service. Asked for recommendations. One of us (pescetarian) had already decided on the seabass before we came in, since it is a meat place we chose this restaurant for the reason they serve both meat and fish which most other meat restaurants don't. The waitress (blonde lady) said there was no fish at all, only monkfish. We explained there was a pescatarian amongst us, do you not have anything else? She just laughed and shook her head. Started to leave. We saw the cod on the menu and asked, then she was like, yeah ok then. Very confusing. The sides were underwhelming. The food took a very long time even though only 15 people were seated. The cod that the pescetarian got was extremely salty and overcooked. Not what she expected it to be like (see picture). We asked what sauce came with the salad and what was the ingredients, she said she didn’t know. I asked if I could order a side sauce, like a hollandaise or anything, but she said they didn't have any. Didn’t ask us for condiments for the potatoes. Very underwhelming experience. Had way better service and food at Hawksmoor and Flat iron. The waitress kept referring to us as ladies assuming our gender, making our friend feel uncomfortable. We advised it was our friend's birthday on the booking. £400 bill, not any acknowledgement of the birthday. Why put "special request?" as part of the booking form when you are not acknowledging it? Also have seen others get a little candle surprise on pictures for their birthday so I guess that was what we expected. Seem like they though we were a group of women who did not need the same attention as the white cis couples that were sat in there.

We, having been to the Basque country and enjoyed some phenomenal steaks there, were thrilled to find a place in London that brought back those rich flavours. Sagardi’s menu is impressive, featuring not only premium cuts of beef but also fresh seafood and a variety of thoughtful side dishes. But let’s get straight to the steak—absolutely divine. Cooked to perfection, it came just as we like it. The staff even offered to cook it further if needed, though it was clear they knew exactly what they were doing. The cuts were expertly explained, showcasing their pride and skill. Service was top-notch: polite, attentive, and genuinely passionate about their food. Huge thanks to the entire Sagardi team! We’ll definitely be returning for another taste of the Basque country.

Probably one of the best steaks I have ever had and I really struggle to find a great steak place that is worth every £££ in London. The Txuleton cut was impeccable, the taste was delicious and cooked to medium rare perfection. It was an unforgettable and phenomenal taste of Basque cuisine. Honestly, the meat was so tasty, they don't even sell sauce as they know you don't even need it. Me and my partner had minutes in silence savouring the food, particulary paired with good choice of red wine. Plenty of starter options but picked iberico ham because ofcourse, it also melts in your mouth. The cheesecake was fantastic and they even have wonderful desert wine. Service was great, explained the different types of meat well and catered to our needs. I wouldn't say I would go here for the atmosphere as it wasn't very romantic and the tables we sat in middle was very close to the next table so I could hear their conversation. Nonetheless, we came here for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed it - definitely looking forward to come back here for the food.

Just had dinner here for my last night in London. I was very disappointed with the food quality and service. The premium Galician steak we ordered was way too well-done and dry (we ordered medium rare). The steak quality was lower than what I would get in my usual steak go-to place in Hong Kong. A waiter came and provided an empty plate for the steak and told us it’s a hot plate. I was not too aware of it and I didn’t expect it to be soooo hot that I felt my fingers burnt trying to move the plate a bit. I reacted quickly to pull my hand back as it hurt so much. The waiter said coldly, “Told you.” And he walked away. I didn’t know why the plate needed to be that hot. When we paid the bill, they messed up the order and incorrectly put in a beer, which we didn’t order, in the bill. They also charged us a steak weighed 1.03, though we ordered a 0.95 steak. Another more polite waiter came and apologised and said they would give us 10% discount for the well-done steak. We were not impressed as we were prepared to ask them to waive that discretionary 12.5% service fee from the bill as we were pretty upset. So we just still let them charge the 12.5% and give that 10% discount, as we don’t want to waste time.

Had the tasting menu. First course was a delicious basque sausage. We were given about 1 inch each. I thought it was an amuse bouche. Was staggered to realise this was what constituted a "course." A pallid and bland omelette. Like a greasy puddle on a small plate. Streaming with oil. Lacking flavour. I cannot imagine that this dish is a thing anywhere in France or Spain including the Basque-lands. How the Hell can you produce and serve a ghastly omelette like that. A thing of shame! It was about this time we realised that our server knew nothing about the menu. And was not interested anyway. We asked for wine selections with the courses. It took quite a while to communicate to the server that we wanted someone who knew the wines to make suggestions for us. We wanted to try Basque wines we had never heard of. I cant remember what they were but they were the hoyse wines from Basque cellers and the low end of the high prices on their menu and good. Third course was pan fried cod. Tiny portions. Unspectacular. Boring. Bland. So by this time I realised this was a rip off. Could have fitted the portion in a side plate of a dolls tea-service. 4th course was a tomahawk steak. Supposed to weigh 550g per person. I know steak. And how to cook it. I rarely bother with it unless i personally sourced it and cooked it. This was top quality meat. Salted well. Cooked as best could be expected seeing it was not allowed to come to room temp before being fired. No sides were offered and these had to be purchased as extras. All were boring and below the standard I would serve at a sleepover for 8 year olds. Finally the 5th course. 1 type of cheese on a cheese plate. We were expecting some cheeses from basque land. I have had better from lidl during spanish week. We were still hungry. We decided not to waste any more money on basque cheesecake cus everything else was underwhelming rip off. 3 people. 9 glasses of wine. 3 sides. Tasting menu. Cost £400. Total rip off. Disgrace to Basque heritage. AVOID!!!!!

WE WONT COME BACK HERE AGAIN. First of all foods is quite enjoyable here. Steak is nice, side dishes are hit or miss. We had come here a few times. BUT SERVICE IS UNACCEPTABLE! We walked in one day during the night around 2045 on Friday. We had asked for the table, just to got turned down by the host woman. And told us the restaurant is fully booked, which is impossible. And the tone she used on us was unacceptable. With this kind of attitude, I have no surprise why the restaurant is half empty on FRIDAY. You don’t expect service like this on this kind of price. The meat is super soft just like wagyu beef but there are no beef or umami flavours on it at all. I love the beef to have a cheesy funk on it. The cooking of the beef is very good and just right at medium rare but there seasoning is not good. No salt or pepper. They should have put it on after the cutting of the beef. Is the beef worth it at £13.50?Well a big No. I would rate it to be £8 My own DIY Dry-Age 45 days Wagyu M9+ is far better than this but I know it's not fare. My is Dry-Age Wagyu. The other dishes are OK nothing special.

Sagardi en Shoreditch, un poco fuera de los caminos turísticos habituales, se especializa en filetes vascos y se nota desde el momento en que entras con grandes trozos de carne colgando en exhibición detrás de la nevera transparente. El señor que nos sirvió explicó el menú y trajo unos filetes a nuestra mesa para que podamos elegir el que nos gustó que asaran (que me pareció increíble servicio y muy por encima de los estándares de Londres! ). Fuimos por un Txuleton - este medio perfecto - filete raro era otra cosa! Sabor profundo, buena relación carne - grasa y calidad que hablaba por sí mismo. El lado de los panes dulces con patatas también era increíble. Un poco en el lado caro, pero definitivamente vale la pena! No puedo esperar a visitar de nuevo!

I’ve been at this restaurant three times now. Frankly, the food really is excellent. Tasting menu is great and the steak is delicious. However, as lots of people have said in the comments, the service is horrendous. Last time I went there was a couple of days ago (we spent £500 for three persons). One of the waiters was very rude and impolite. This sadly destroyed the whole experience. Won’t go back there anymore. There are many other similar places in London, with expensive but excellent steak, but with professional service.

We travelled nearly 200 miles from Leeds to this restaurant after great reviews on every platform. The experience started brilliantly and the food was amazing. Service was above and beyond. However, it was completely spoilt by a single member of staff whose attitude belongs in Spoons. I don’t appreciate spending £350 and having a person treat me like i had just asked for a freeby. Talk about attitude. We moved from our table to the bar area to have a couple of drinks and the staff had rotated. The person who came to our table threw the drinks menu across the table and showed no interest whatsoever. I decided not to spend anymore of my money in there and asked for the bill. This was also chucked on the table. I needed to tell the front of house about this service and he really didn’t care. Top marks to the people who served us our first class food but so dissatisfied that they employ people who don’t give a toss about customer service.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time tonight at Sagardi. The staff was attentive and kind. They answered many of my questions and provided many suggestions to ensure a great experience. The appetizer was a great start. The creamy swiss chard was delicious. The txuleton vaca was amazing. Perfectly cooked, nice charred edge, and well seasoned. You could tell the meat was well rested because there were no excess juices running on the plate. The warm basque cheesecake was the most delicious end to a wonderful meal. It was soft, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. I will definitely be coming back before returning to the US.

It was a great dinner. The menu is not very extensive, but better, so you know that the products are 100% Spanish and you are not inventing and falsifying products. What is is and that's it. The price is not high for the city. The meat is not the best in Spain, but compared to the native cows, any half-decent meat you bring is much tastier and more tender than those from the area. The place is beautiful and elegant. Advisable.

Just to be clear, the food and wine was outstanding - steak, croquettes, leeks, omelette, basque cheesecake were all standouts. However, given the price tag, the service really let the whole experience down. The server gave no explanation of the menu (in terms of number of dishes to order etc), no rapport, and when asking questions about the steaks and sizes it felt like we were an inconvenience. The slightly older guy who served us the desserts at the end was great though.

If I’ll remember one restaurant for the past years when it comes to bad service this wins. And was echoed by all my colleagues. The manager of some type bluntly rejected us when we asked if he had other steaks available as it simply didn’t look so inviting with a grey steak that’s probably been out the full day that would cost 130 pounds. We asked for salt when the food came in but never received it. Potato was ok. Once we had paid we went outside and the waitress came running saying that we were missing 40 pounds that we had to pay (the service charge). Which they had forgot to add themselves. We of course didn’t pay it. I have been at probably 100+ steak houses and this ranks as the worst I’ve been at especially at this price range.

Amazing steak that is cooked almost right in front of you. Honestly this is the best steak I have tried in Barcelona. Would highly recommend. The service is very friendly and very kind. They will help with anything you may need. I really enjoyed my time here with my friends. We had a big table and a big steak haha! For the ones that are struggling to find good steak in Barcelona - try this!

This was my first visit here as we were staying nearby. We managed to get a late booking on Friday afternoon. We were made very welcome as soon as we stepped through the door by the restaurant manager Pedro. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and we felt immediately comfortable. The biggest challenge was deciding which wine to choose from the massive wine menu but we were helped with our choice and chose from a long list of corpinats. We were also shown some incredible sharing steaks from ex dairy cows which looked incredible. The food is like nothing I have had outside of Spain. This is not a fake Spanish tapas bar. This is the real deal. Proudly Basque and showcasing the region’s finest food. We ordered a few small plates and one large one. Gildas were appetising, the grilled txistorra (Basque sausage) was deeply savoury, beautiful hand cut free range acorn fed Iberian ham, lovely Iberian ham and mushroom croquettes were exceptional. The fried chilli peppers were amazing. The Rioja braised oxtail with mashed potatoes was delicious and unctuous. The freshly baked warm Basque cheesecake made with sheep’s milk was light and delicious.What a fabulous experience. Great food. Lovely atmosphere. Amazing food. Sagardi offers an incredible dining experience with authentic Basque cuisine. The food is delicious, especially the pintxos and the perfectly cooked steak. Eight of us had a pleasant lunch here. Mostly good - but not 'wow' Some eye-watering prices (£190 for turbot) and the lambs trotters were inedible. Nice team and a very comprehensive wine list.

The standard has dropped since my first visit two years ago. The service level is also below the par, I.e serving us a basket of bread without giving olive oil or salt. The steak is good, but a bit pricey for that level. The grilled sea bass is surprisingly tasty. I guess the secret is that they added a bit vinegar when seasoning/cooking, so it is not flavorless and a bit more tender.

We returned a year later to find the bill £75 more expensive and the service significantly poorer. While the food remains excellent, a bill exceeding £300 for dinner for two (excluding a bottle of wine, just two glasses) and a 12.5% "discretionary" service charge did not meet our expectations. The music was awful, but that’s a matter of personal taste. We will not be returning.

Menu is designed for groups. If you want to choose your own dish, it is somewhat limiting. There is only one steak cut you can choose if ordering for yourself. The same with the fish. When we went, the only charcoal grilled fish dish I was offered was 1.4kg of monkfish, a bit much. Ended up having pan fried cod. What we had was OK, but had hoped to have eaten something else from the grill. Service wasn't great. One waiter went to see if they had any other fish and never returned. Another who took our order was pretty snooty that we questioned the choices of which there were none. A shame. As I say, it's probably a different experience with a big group where you all share.

This is clearly a location that is on a journey and credit for that. However, when your journey consists of foams, froth, and ice with little or no substance, let alone alcohol then expect reviews like this. The staff are lovely. Welcoming and friendly. The vibe is very 70's, but as a 70's child, it needs significant work. The idea has to be applauded, but it lacks so much. The tasting menu at £39 per head would be acceptable if there was indeed a taste to accept, but sadly, there isn't. Of 5 tastes there was but 1, perhaps 2, that were indeed tasty, the rest were sadly lacking. The popcorn and cheese plates were welcomed distractions from what was otherwise uninspiring and overpriced. This is clearly a concept on a journey, and in time, it may well reach some.dizzy heights, but that is many Moons away and needs significant work to be a viable success. Having tried 5 "tasters," I feel I haven't had one drink. Which sums up the entire experience 🤔

Very poor service! Everytime I phone to order for collection they always get my order wrong then I have to wait a further 15 mins for them to cook the right order on arrival. Met with very frosty and poor atmosphere and service. When asked if I could have an extra bread or sauce due to the mistake that was made I’m told no very sternly. I informed them that I will not be back again as there’s only so much I can take with the constant wrong orders. Also the bread was horrendous this time and the chicken was cold as it had yo wait for my second meal to be cooked again due to taking down the wrong order over the phone again. Never again.

Held our annual Christmas meal at J&S Dalston and we were totally impressed - Food was amazing, staff were great, location is excellent! Definitely doing our 2025 Christmas meal here again!
