Saray Jesmond Turkish Grill House in Newcastle upon Tyne

Our first visit but it wont be our last. What an amazing place. We were greeted like friends, the decor is beautiful and such a warm atmosphere. The food arrived with freshly cooked bread, everything was beautifully cooked and presented. We can't wait to return with our friends, wish we had found it sooner. Its our new favourite place to eat.

Good food, good service, Ali is the boy, sorted me out with free glasses of water 👏🏾 everything was spot on. Definitely gonna visit again when I recover from the recession. Mixed Grill and Green Sea mocktail highly recommended

Mixed grill platter for 4 people, basically cheap meats chicken wings, pork ribs and very little grilled chicken and lamb.

Today, my family and I visited Saray Turkish Grill in Newcastle. We had a wonderful experience! The service was excellent, the atmosphere inviting, and the food delicious. Highly recommended.

For the amount we ordered very reasonable price food was so tasty almost made me want to be Turkish the service was amazing very friendly if I'm ever in the area again I will revisit would definitely recommend 😁

What a nice place! The decor was tastefully traditional Newcastle building with Turkish elements, lights and pictures. The menu is totally Turkish which was very well detailed, I wanted a bit of everything! We ordered from the barbecue side of the grill which was not a mistake! Our choice was to go for the mixed grill which included pork chop, lamb chop, lamb ribs, kofte which was as tasty as anything as you can imagine. We were served by the owner and he gave us a lovely welcome and was attentive and professional and shared stories of where he originated, which was where we had been on a holiday previously. If you are staying locally, it is definitely worth considering. I will return.

This restaurant is amazing! We had a Mixed Grill Sharing Platter for two and it was extremely well served and delicious! The service was also excelent. Also, the price is very fair for what they deliver. I have no downside to point out and I will definetly come back!

Visited on a Saturday night place was busy but didn't feel packed. Food was great, Wife is coeliac so requires gluten free the options on the menu were clearly explained and the starter cooked separately to accommodate the allergen. Only pointer for us would be maybe have some plain GF rice available, without the added grains. The rest of the group was "normal" and our food was excellent. Service was good and we did tip, the service charge was added as standard but the option to remove it if you wish was handled really well.

This place was the best Turkish food we have ever had! The mixed grill and lamb chops were amazing, literally cooked to perfection. We came to Saray for our first experience of Newcastle’s culinary scene and we were not disappointed. We shared the mixed grill and by heaven and earth was it a feast! Succulent lamb, chargrilled chicken, juicy koftas - it had it all. Top class service - servers were very friendly and professional all around - a great experience. A fantastic first night in the North of England!

If you want a feast this is the place to come. Top quality meat and plenty of it. Service is great too.

I visit Saray regularly and the food never fails to amaze me! The cold platter starter with warm bread made in house and the mixed grill are my go to orders, and the meat is always cooked to perfection! My favourite spot in Newcastle!

Myself and my wife went here for a quiet meal out ,we like to go out at tea time as we don't care for being rushed , We arrived for our booking and we were met by the waiter ,very happy and cheerful and he showed us to our table ,a beautiful window table at the front of the restaurant, The table was immaculate ,proper cloth napkins and immaculately clean cutlery, We ordered our drinks and starters from the vast amount on the menu , A wide selection of hot and cold starters , Our food and drinks arrived in good time from ordering, The food looked great ,well presented on the plates and a cheeky order of Turkish bread on the side ,nice touch . My wife and I both tucked into our starters ,both absolutely beautiful, On finishing the waiter gave us plenty of time before he came to clear our table , He returned about 5mins later with our main courses ,the smell was amazing coming from my wife's dish ,again both dishes were presented so well ,they looked amazing, The food was delicious,and so well cooked ,I just kept telling my wife this is delicious, The waiter came over and asked if everything was fine ,our reply was of course it is delicious, He left with a big smile upon his face heading towards the kitchen no doubt to pass on the comments to the kitchen staff , We were left alone to finish our meals with no more Interruptions, We both did our best to clear our plates but the portion size just beat me ,and I love my food , Our waiter noticed we had finished asked again if everything was fine and took another drinks order , He let us rest for a good ten minutes before asking if we would like the sweet menu , Of course for me but my wife was beaten by the main , The dessert arrived ,again it looked and tasted amazing but my eyes were bigger than my tummy and unfortunately I was beat , So all in all ,the restaurant was immaculately clean ,the staff were amazingly friendly,the food was fantastic,so a review out of five stars would be 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟plus all-round Would me and the wife return,yes of course we will, Would we recommend this restaurant to friends and family,most definitely, Just one last thing ,keep up the amazing work ,both front of house and kitchen team ,yous are all amazing,thankyou for a wonderful experience,cheers to you all ,Ken hedley

Came here for a friends birthday and had an amazing time. Got the mixed platter as well as their homemade Turkish bread and both were incredible. The portion sizes of the food were also massive (in a good way).

Went here on Monday night, food was cold even though it was supposed to be a mixed grill so you would assume it was made fresh at least but sadly this wasn’t the case. Also please be aware that they add a service charge to your bill even though it is not stated anywhere online or even in the restaurant menu.
