Sarasas Restaurant in Hillingdon

I visited this branch of Sarasas for the first time last year with friends for a mid-week supper. I am familiar with the Hayes branch which I have been going to for years. The restaurant was quiet and we received attentive efficient service. All three of us ordered dosas. They were cooked to perfection with the food being comparable to that of the long established and very busy Hayes branch. I am surprised to read the negative reviews but I only visited once when it was not busy. Those who have complained about the spiciness of the food are recommended to not eat at South Indian restaurants. It is known that our cuisine is spicy. Anyone wanting butter chicken and korma should go to a standard North Indian restaurant of which there are hundreds. It's great to have a South Indian restaurant in close proximity to my home.

Wouldn’t even eat here if it’s a free meal.Loud dance music ruins the family atmosphere and won’t drown away the customer’s disappointment. Zero stars Waste of money and ruined our New Year’s Eve dinner. Manager’s poor response to customer complaining about food not prepared according to order - “I gave yoghurt!” Appalling customer service from manager and staff. They clearly don’t care about the customers experience or wellbeing . Wasted £80+ meal and ruined New Year’s Eve dinner ! Plenty of better options for Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine. My mother and two sons and I had the unfortunate experience of dining in this restaurant around 6:30-7pm last night. We highlighted to keep the food mild. Pointed out to the waiter (who is the restaurant manager) who took our order 1. butter chicken was for my youngest son and as it has no chillies symbol 🌶️ on the menu It should not be spicy. 2. Requested to make my seafood string hoppers kottu as mild as possible. When the food arrived the butter chicken was so heavily laden with chilli my son drowned his plate of rice and chicken with yoghurt. He struggled to recover from the few bites of butter chicken he ate with rice and had to rush to the bathroom feeling sick. He is now suffering from severe heartburn as a result of last night’s meal. Came home on an empty stomach only to have some milk and cereal on New Year’s Eve. I struggled to eat some of my seafood hopper which had atleast 5 fiery dried red chillies. My older son could barely eat 1 bite of the mutton kottu roti and left all of it. When I told the manager we were unhappy with the meal because it was too spicy despite our request to keep it mild he replied -“but I gave yoghurt”! I told the manager it seems we paid £18 for some plain yoghurt and steamed rice rather than butter chicken my son could actually eat. I also showed him the number of whole dried chillies in my seafood hopper which were added despite my request to keep it mild as possible. Manager just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. They didn’t offer any goodwill gesture - charged us the full amount including the desserts we ordered to try to console my sons for terrible main course. As we were getting ready to leave a waiter hurriedly walks into my elderly mother who was preparing to wear her coat. No apologies that you may have caused her to lose her balance and injure herself Appalling customer service from manager and staff. They clearly don’t care about the customers experience or wellbeing . Wasted £80+ meal and ruined New Year’s Eve dinner and we are all suffering with heartburn and indigestion the next day. !

I decided to try something new as we are new in the area. Wasn't pleasant at all. We ordered the meat plater£27. Kofta was raw and sent back. The fish and lamb chops was preciously cooked and reheated and the butter chicken was tomato puree with cream added. No flavour at all. The chicken had an unusual texture to it. Definitely frozen and reheated. I have been in the food industry for 30 years and currently running a very busy central London kitchen. I know what im talking about!

First time , just for a dinner over a long weekend , with wife.Booked on line .Arrived in time . Very noisy . Got small table for 2 , waiter came after nearly 15-20 mins following prompts.Another 20 mins for drinks to arrive . Food came , which is coming upto an hour. 8.30 pm Dosa were nothing like what we had seen or eaten . before Crispy , they said , and provided knife and fork , like eating papadam with knife abd fork. Had ordered DOSA with MASALA , but came plain , They replaced after a complaint. To finish off ordered Faludo . Didn't come , so just asked for Bill and left , at nearly 9.40 p.m What an experience.!!! Never again

Food is just tasteless . The same sauce is just mixed up with everything. Ordered fried chily idlis n mogo chily n the same sauce taste for both. Idli did not taste of idli. Prawn 65 priced at £14 had more red batter on the prawn than a prawn . The only good thing was the virgin mojito n the rasamillai which was definitely not homemade but bought from out. Not at all worth the money . Never again.

Friendly staffs and good food. Just read few reviews, quite unfortunate some had experience. Honestly we've been regular customers for last 2 years and service/ food and staffs were equally consistent and never had issues at all. Thanks :)

Went here for my wife’s birthday, booked a table for 9adults and 2 children. Given a private booth near the kitchen . For some reason it’s got double chairs, also getting in and out very difficult. Service was non existent . Got in at 6.45 and didn’t get drinks till 7.30 , drinks came separately two at a time , waited for one beer for ages. Ordered starters which in fairness were very tasty but for fried prawns. Then waited and waited for them to clear the plates and order for mains it’s now 8.25 Eventually got mains again it came one by one instead of all meals together. Again the mains was all good Didn’t get out it almost 10.00 cos the seriously slow service. My advice to anybody booking large party groups, don’t let them reserve your seats in booth cos you are out sight and forgotten.

Restaurant does not understand the meaning of mild in their dishes. Dishes which don't even have "spicy" identified are spicy Service was slow even when Restaurant was quiet Tables were all pushed in and left to customers to pull out Furniture is larger then the tables. Tables are not big enough to accommodate large plates Paan was worst paan I've had forever. So dry and packed up. Couldn't taste any syrup. Wrongfully put items that they didn't have available on our bill which we spotted and was rectified. No passion fruit in stock. For an Indian restaurant that is just appalling No kids menu

They need to sort out the ventilation and remove the cooking smell. The food is good but it's not worth your hair and clothes absolutely reeking of days and days of stale cooked food smell because of poor ventilation. It's gross and ruins the whole experience. I had to wash everything even my coat to get the smell out! And even then it still lingers. They need to boil some lemon daily and open the windows or something to neutralise the cooking smell, it is really revolting.🤢

Went here as a family in Jan 24. We had pre booked a table and rang ahead to say that we were going to be only 10 mins late because of traffic. The rude manager said that they would have to cancel our reservation and make us wait for the table - this is not on as restaurants should allow 15 mins grace for bookings. When we got there, the restaurant was busy and was a mess - empty drinks glasses piling up, dirty plates and cutlery left lying around, spilled food and paper napkins on the floor, waiting staff with no training running around like headless chickens. First starter came out 15 mins after ordering but had to wait an hour for the other starters and had to chase these several times. Therefore, we could not eat together. Waiter plonked down someone else’s dishes on our table whilst he was getting some other stuff, so felt it was fine for him to use our space ass storage area for other people’s meals and plates. Was charged extra for a soft drink that we did not order and no apology tor this. We did like the taste of the food, but sadly the whole experience was ruined because of the chaos and incompetent service.

Most restaurants these days are considerate of allergies, especially nut allergies. The norm in most being that a small number of dishes are offered with nuts but the majority aren't. Not this place. I would say two thirds of the menu is items made using nuts or nut based marinades etc. Now I'm not talking cross contamination or nut traces! As I have a mild nut allergy, I was pretty much rules out of most of the menu. Everything I asked about contains nuts. What is more annoying is that the items are not marked on the menu as containing nuts. Therefore, ending up ordering items off the menu that I may not have wanted. Luckily for me, the items I had were tasty so while I didn't get what I wanted, what I had was nice. Can't imagine myself visiting again due to all this and the lack of effort to consider allergies and mark it on the menus.

Great food and great service too. The food was cooked lovely will definitely be returning when I’m in the area again.

We enjoyed a very good meal in Sarasas last evening with 8 friends having been recommend by those who live locally and have been here often. We were seated in a private dining area & the service was very attentive and quick so I’m surpass today to read reviews that indicate the the contrary. The menu had lots of varied & different choices, especially the chicken dosa which is not often on a standard ‘Indian ’ restaurant menu and was very beautifully spiced. The cauliflower Gobi 65 was excellent . Loved the number of vegetarian choices. We had a very enjoyable evening and would go back.

Ordered takeaway only to discover there were items missing when it arrived. Called the restaurant and was told they had checked with the chef and he assured them all items were in the bag so there’s nothing they can do. This is the second time this has happened when ordering from here. Poor customer service. Will not be ordering again.

As a local, I have often thought about coming to this restaurant for a meal but hadn’t managed it until recently. Very disappointed. My husband asked for meat samosas, he got vegetable which he returned. My vegetable spring rolls were okay. Not crispy and flaky but okay. The main courses were warm but not hot. I was charged for three drinks when I had two. Not a great experience and I will not be going back.

Ordered two dishes online which was delivered late and was wrong order. They sent me someone else’s order so had a total wait of 2 hours for the delivery and the food was terrible and manager blamed the driver for taking wrong order which is definatly incorrect. The rava dosa was kept in fridge for next day to eat and was off. Use the Hayes shop. That one is brilliant. Never gonna order from here. Had to order as Hayes one is temp closed. Spoilt my whole Saturday evening.

If only I read the reviews before going here then wouldn'thave wasted my hard earned money. Went for morhers day dinner. We had reserved a table. As soon as walked in it was chaotic the waiters literally running like headless chickens and no one came to us for ages. The floor plan is crap with a big pillar in the middle of the restaurant with seating all the way round it so feels like other people are sitting on top of you and this is where we were seated. Soon as we sat down I kept getting hit on the head from the waiters trying to squeeze through behind me. I asked one if the waiters if they could move us and they asked the manager who ssid they could move us to the other side of the pillar. We said no as it was right next to the front door. I went up to the manager and asked for another table and she literally said take or leave it and walked off. Well I was furious what sort of manager is this so rude to the customer. I sat back down and moved my chair right back so the waiters couldn't walk behind me as didn't want to continuously be hit from behind. It was loud in the restaurant couldn't enjoy and the food is pricey and not worth wasting money on. Apart from the dosa being crispy the sides are absolutely tasteless. On the way out I told the manager exactly what for and she was damn rude and can't manage and shouldn't be at front of desk. I asked to see to the owner but they kept bluffing me off saying first he's at the back then he's not in - Lyiers. She was so rude she walked off again!!!!! Listen people when you work hard for your money you want to spend it where you get good food & good service. There are far better restaurants out there The only tip I left was telling them they need to get some people skills. Don't waste your money TO THE OWNER-GET YOURSELF ANOTHER MANAGER-READ THE REVIEWS !!!!!!!!

Had a takeaway that was lovey the weekend before. Thought we would go and dine in the restaurant as it was so nice. Well, we had an awful experience!! Our starters were very dry and did not look like picture on website. Also comparing it to our takeaway food was very disappointing. When we complained to the manager she was really not bothered and showed that she couldn’t care less. We decided to cancel the rest of our order and leave. It was early evening we were the first couple in there. Don’t waste your time going here!!! No customer care.

Extremely disappointing. Firstly they gave away our reserved area even though we had booked months in advance. The owner promised to ring and sort it out and we had no reply from them only for the staff to ring us on the day of the booking and asking us if we still wanted the booking. After that the service was appalling. Clearing plates and drinks before we had finished the meal or drink. Food coming at different times and generally disorganised. I would not recommend this place. After all this this still charging us the 12.5% service charge. No shame at all.

Excellent discovery while staying un Ruislip. My usual restaurant was closed so I did adventure a bit in Ruislip and found this restaurant to be different. And indeed it is. Styled, refined in terms of design, that’s pleasant ! But the food ? Well you have classic Indian stuff but also some dishes I had never tasted before. A great experience it was and a lovely evening for my lonely stomach.
