My husband suggested calling in here for some lunch. I chose the ham and cheese panini. It was totally inedible. The ham was a slice of the ultra thin water thin ham. It didn't resemble ham and was totally tasteless. After attempting one bite I left the meal and also the cafe! We won't be back

I discovered this place a month ago since then recommended it fully... until today. I'd like to start with the fact that the staff are wonderful and what happened isn't their fault but because of it I would never go there again or recommend it to anyone. So last time; young mum with toddler nervous about going out but was put totally at ease and made to feel welcome. Having lunch here was a pleasure and helped my confidence in going out solo with my young child. Today I took my family here, elderly parents and my toddler, only to be verbally abused and threatened by another customer before I even sat down. As I moved around the table to take my seat he shouts at me from across the next table to watch his drink. I was no where near his drink. I automatically said sorry and went to sit down at which he bellows "you will be sorry. You will pay for it". To say I was taken aback was an understatement. While other customers quickly rushed to say he'd been like that since he walked in I felt my recently found confidence break, and all in front of my child. He continued to verbally assault me as we abruptly left. It was the worst experience I'd had in a cafe and I will never go back there. I had recommended this place in the mother groups I'm involved with but now will warn them not to go. Such a shame but the offering is not worth the potential of crossing paths with this customer again. Please beware.

Popped in for a bacon roll and a cuppa... Had to spend over £5 to pay by card?? That's just a scam... But bacon roll and a cuppa was nice and reasonably priced

Not much to say positively about this cafe. Understanding the rise in prices and the economy I think generally people get higher prices. However if you are going to charge high then there is no excuse for cheap ingredients/cheap coffee and cheap sauces. Pretty poor to be honest but seems to have its followers and is busy. Service was ok and food came very quickly which is the obvious red flag.

We were in Porthcawl for a visit on a miserable wet morning and needed some lunch it was a toss up between here and Gregs. We made the right choice. Food was good for the price, the menu offered a good choice and service was very friendly. I would recommend this establishment if you are in Porthcawl and need sustenance.

Breakfasts are great Bacon rolls are better. Coffee is refreshing. I find the service very good and very polite. Don't expect the Ritz, it's Porthcawl. Best value in town.

We've called to this cafe a few times over the last couple of weeks whereby the food has been really tasty & has never disappointed It's a spotless cafe with a really friendly quick service (nothing has been to much trouble)!! Make sure you try one of their homemade cakes - I had the cheesecake which was amazing!!!

Ordered a milkshake and a americano coffee. Milkshake was made from Nestle granules and the coffee was horrendous and only managed one sip. No masks worn by any of the staff (18 Sept)!!!

I would avoid this place. Staff very grumpy customer service was non existent orderd a breakfast and was waiting for 20 mins for the hot drinks to arrive 2 mins later the breakfast arrived. The breakfast was bland beans tasted like they had been in the microwave about 5 times over. Terrible place won’t be back.

Called in for a breakfast and was pretty disappointed with quality. Thought we had ordered pached egg but waitress insisted it was scrambled so accepted that my husband might have got that wrong, She did offer to change it, but I accepted the scarmbled as don't like to waste food, and it wasn't really a problem. Prices are cheap and guess you get what you pay for. Had eggs, black pudding and mushrooms. Mushrooms were sliced and cold and black pudding hard and so dry I couldn't even cut it. Scrambled eggs overcooked and latte was more just warm milk as couldn't taste any coffee in it. Quality of husband's cooked breakfast was again poor. Wouldn't recommend but if it's cheap and cheerful you want then prices reflect that.

A good cafe for food rather than decor or comfort. Home cooked fare and plenty of it. Right in the middle of the main shopping street (John Street). Nice staff.

We popped into this modest and clean looking cafe for our tea at 4 p.m. The staff were beligerant and seemingly indifferent to my presence. After a few minutes I broke into the conversation they were having and asked to be served. Eventually they decided which of them would serve me. I ordered the special which consisted of omelet and chips costing £5 and for my wife a jacket potato with tuna mayonnaise, £4.50. I was informed that they only accepted cash in payment. The staff sighed and puffed not wanting to cook anything only one hour before they closed. We took our seats and waited for 20 minutes. Where upon the dishes arrived and plonked on the table. My omelet was poorly cooked and rather resembled a frisbee, the chips were over cooked, previously frozen, inedible dish altogether. My wifes was an equally awful offering the baked potato was so well cooked and I suspect rewarmed, that it had become so hard that the the knife and fork could not penetrate it. We called a member of staff over to point out the faults. She retorted " There is nothing wrong with them just a little too much microwave time". We left without further ado. You have been advised!

Can be a Good place to shop, even has a decent cloths section up stairs with some house stuff to boot but often times waiting at self serve grates as a select few staff tend to be on phones while people are waiting

Love this place but our last few visits have been so disappointing! Visited this today around 11:30am, ordered 3 hot drinks and a toasted teacake, waited 20 mins for the order to arrive. The flat white looked like dishwater, the mocha also looked watery and had a strange taste to it, both cups were not even filled to the top. Both drinks were left although our daughter did enjoy her hot chocolate. Toasted Teacake was cold and hard, as if it had been cooked and left for a while before being served to us. Definitely not worth the price we paid and we won’t be returning any time soon!
