Asda Cafe in Bridgend

Lovely place to do shop. They have great prices and quality products, with very friendly and helpful staff.

I shop at Asda Bridgend most days.I had a query today & went to Customer Services where I was helped by Sharon :~) She was very friendly & quickly sorted out my problem x

Something has gone wrong in Asda recently, it's hard to say exactly what but the feel of shopping there is not nice anymore. Prices are noticeably up, stock levels are noticeably down and staff seem to not be enjoying themselves at work as much as they used to. I avoid Asda now for everything except about half a dozen products i either can't find at Aldi or whose price vs quality ratio i think is better. I may buy the Aldi price-matched items at Asda occasionally. The shop also seems darker/less bright. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why staff at this place look so unhappy , unwelcoming. Never seen anyone smiling or dealing customers with smile . This shows poor attitude and training of staff. Well learned educated professional visit this store but the behaviour of staff is rather weird . Please work on it manager.

Not my usual place to shop, but needed to grab some food in the cafe. Things didn't go to plan(they stop serving hot food at 5) however the lady working behind the counter was really nice and helpful. If you need an employee of the month, you have one here. 1715pm. Thursday 26th October.

My granddaughter and I were served at the checkout by a lovely lady called Sandie, she was very helpful, by pointing out that I could get a discount on some clothes I was buying, with the Asda rewards.

Fruit and veg from this store this year has been terrible quality, even when in date, not just here but Pyle too. I now resort to doing my main shop here but buying fruit elsewhere because it genuinely doesn’t last more than a day or two (berries and salad especially bad). I’ve returned click and collect items on the spot the last two times because it’s clearly very past its best, I’m not sure why the pickers don’t see this as they pick shopping but there’s only so many times you can feed this back on the app before you give up and go elsewhere, it’s a shame as Asda rewards is the best supermarket reward app!

Awful members of staff on self scan Dept. Not all of them, just the begrudging battle axes (all of them over 50 & should know better) behaving as childish as kids on a school yard & not a single hello, thank you or even an ounce customer service skills in between them. Do not visit, especially if struggling with anxiety issues!

Absolutely disgusting staff in the cafe not one person said please or thank you…. RUDE Asda need a policy on how to speak to customers… I’m a support worker for learn disability, which is y I was in there the young girl I supported had more manners than the staff… to top it off the coffee was absolutely revolting, young girl had a coke and a ham toastie which she didn’t finish any of it absolutely hanging in there 👎

Will never shop in store or get a home delivery from them again after giving me an item that was a week past the use by date and upon being informed of the issue not giving a damn and just offering a £5 voucher. Couldn't care less about the voucher as I wouldn't shop here again but this should still be taken seriously considering it's a criminal offence they can be fined for.

Absolutely rubbish customer service yet again from the pizza counter, it's not the first time, the last 3 times the counter has either been closed or had very few toppings available. The girl on the counter today said she wouldn't serve us because she was going on her break, but the attitude was shocking! Never again will I go back!!

No idea what's going on but the quality of fruit and vegetables is so bad at the moment. Especially frustrating as Bridgend doesn't have a fruit & veg shop. Rotting coriander on the shelves today, ginger looked like peelings off the floor. Rottiserie is cremating the chickens these days so no longer edible. Postivies, shop is clean and queues don't get too bad. The app is good with plenty of cashback. Update: they now allow private companies to harass customers in the foyer, including preying on vulnerable people, sad to see.

Fruit is awful - in a bag of citrus fruit (easy peelers, satsumas, etc) there's usually one that's already beyond edible and needs to go straight in the bin. Between them, the in-store and X customer service teams can't decide if the original, rotting fruit needs to be returned in order to issue a refund. And in-store "don't recognise" the very official X customer service. The fruit at a nearby competitor is superior, even when it's reduced due to short dates!!

Everything you need and cheap too.

I don't often go to Asda Bridgend,but decided to go on Tuesday ,l had already put the Asda app on my phone but didn't know how to use it,,so l asked a member of staff called Anthony,he was by the wine department. Anthony showed me how to use the app and how to look for bargains, He was absolutely brilliant...l straight away got £ 5 plus another £ 1 on my app. This member of staff was extremely professional and also very kind, THANK YOU ANTHONY. ASDA Bridgend south Wales.

Customer service very poor two ladys at customer desk they talk to wach other and ignore customers

Cafe is not fit to eat in. Food is dreadful . Why can’t Bridgend have a cadre as good as Pyle. The food and service there is 110% excellent food. Bridgend is disgusting nuggets only warm but rock hard. And “fresh fruit” was bad too. Need to rethink this cafe.

I popped into this Asda, Bridgend today, to pick up a new skirt for work. I could only find one that was suitable, I happened to mention this to a female worker upstairs , who went way above caring and not only checked on her machine but found another identical one that had been moved to another area!!! What a helpful member of your team, she really took the time and effort to help me. Thank you so much

Generally good, offering quality goods at nice prices. Unfortunately I have to deduct a star for customer service. Perhaps a bit of training for general courtesy of how to speak to customers who are strangers to you would help (eg. Say ‘please could you…’ instead of ‘you’ll have to….’) Also, lots of bad experiences of self-service checkouts. They always claim to be short-staffed, which maybe they are. However, they seem to find time to make a nuisance of themselves, to engage in unnecessary natter (with each other and with customers), and even on on occasion to pick an argument with a customer who had changed her mind about purchasing and left the scene. If they are short-staffed on self-service then I would say efficiency is essential- helping customers to clear the checkout as quickly as possible.

Went to the cafe the place was dirty had no items left on the menu, order food waiting so long for it I just walk out

Used store paid for food could not get cash back as was card only was queuing outside for cash large que so was there about 5 minutes all of a sudden security called me out of que I refused twice as was waiting to get money 3rd time was very assertive so returned in store he asked for receipt so I gave he checked and said you can leave I don't need permission to do anything so asked for manager he came I explained what had happened no apology and said it was a lot of theft in store I said I have a basket of veg he responded you have meat I had a basket for beef stew I said how many thefts wait out side to get caught I think this just annoyed him

The female security guard stares so intensely at the entrance, every time that I feel uncomfortable (the one sat there today at 2:30pm)

You offer soup for a £1 but have not had any for 3 weeks not on you advertise it. No excuse just have not got it you where trying to help oap it's all a con

Went to the cafe for coffee. It was really diety. Tissues and food on the floor, tables dirty, grinds spilt on seats. Both coffee machines out of order. I informed a member of staff who marched around to one of them, pressed a button and it reset. She looked at me like I was stupid and walked off. Great customer care.

Went into store to pick up a few things I went to the lottery counter to be stood there while 3 staff were talking to each other so I waited (they may be talking about work🤷‍♀️) I waited and waited and I finally said is anyone serving? To one of them turning around and rolling her eyes and said yes can I help ( in a sarcastic way) oh and by the way they wasn't talking about work

Visited customer service to return an online delivery,was served by Richard on customer service who seemed to have a problem with every customer, raised eyebrows,tutting, no help whatsoever, shocking how someone who does not want to help customers should be put on customer service.

Shop layout unnecessarily frequently changed around - and always seem to be out of stock! Pizza counter routinely "temporarily" closed or closed early, with only one usually serving too :(

Load of crab rubbish food won't be going there again and staff not very sociable and prices are not cheap and also won't be recommening it to anyone what a total load of rubbish and waste of people's time and money never again

Went to the pizza counter today and was served by a lovely young lady who was by herself despite it being quite busy and other members of staff walking past her without offering help. She still served everyone in the queue with a smile and politely and chatted to us while she made our pizzas. 10/10 customer service from her, shocking she was left to manage everything alone.

Never been to this cafe before today and the staff are rude and clearly don’t want to be there, may aswell have thrown my coffee cup at me. When I went to order was waiting over 10 minutes even though I was the only person there and they clearly saw me, was greeted with “what do you want?” Instead of the normal “hello what can I get for you” please look at your staffs behaviours before hiring them. Clearly all hate their jobs

I had a lovely older man doing the trolleys outside today, he could see my difficulty with trying to hold the trolley with my little girl in, and trying with great difficulty to get my shopping in the boot of my car which was parked in the parent and toddler space. These spaces are ridiculous because you reverse in to keep your child safe and then you can't fully open your boot because of the way the bollards and/or posts are placed. You have to keep your child in the trolley as you have to return the trolley to the bay so you can't move your car forward without it being a huge stressful job. Thank you to the trolley guy who allowed me to vent to him

Waited 10 mins for collection only being served after letting staff know we were waiting, the items i received were wrong (maternity leggings instead of a skirt?) and now the skirt i originally ordered is out of stock 👍🏼 nice one

I dhop in this store couple times a week and o called In store today as I wanted to buy a steamer and saw some saucepans online which were in the sale but wasn't on sale on the shelf. I asked a member of staff and was told to go to customer services. I Went to customer services where there was a bold man and a ginger girl where their attitude was disgusting! Shouldn't be working in customer services if you haven't got customer services skills, I ended up leaving my trolley and walking out. Shocking!!!

Not sure about their New awards app. I had £5 on mine and used it against a purchase of just under £20 .... great..... I looked at the app when I got outside and found I'd got another £5 credit. Can't fault it!😀. Back to the shop Asda is Asda, lots of bargains as usual.

I love Asda caff. I go in with my friend for a coffee or with my daughter & the kids for £1 dinners after school and overall we have a pretty decent experience. The girls on the counter are very lovely. They go out of their way to help. I'm on a stick so they come and make my coffee for me and bring it to the table. But the manager is rude and unprofessional. On my previous visit a staff member told my friend she was coming round to help him bring his food over and the manager rolled her eyes and told the staff member that they were too busy for her to do that. He's losing his sight and he really appreciates the help. the girls are familiar with him but the manager might not be because she's never really there. I was annoyed but that's not even my major concern. Just this week I was there and the manager was having a conversation about food waste where she told staff that beans do not ever need to be wasted. That even when beans have been sat on a hot plate all afternoon, they should be mixed with boiling water, refrigerated and reused the next day. I was delighted to hear the staff member question that practice and refuse to do it but Christ, now I'm not even sure it's safe to eat there. Surely that's not safe. Even if only one person is doing it, it's a definite risk

Order on line every week....put up with the ridiculous replacements....ordered express delivery tonight ...paid alot for it, came 45 minutes late when we were supposed to be at a family event, tried contacting Bridgend Asda for 30 mins to cancel the order, kept getting cut of. Literally appalling service, bloody abismal, I will now be shopping elsewhere

I have never been more insulted by a member staff than I was today. I entered the store to meet up with my mother, I walked past the tills and photo booth to wait where she was likely see me. I paused by the 'lockers' after the booth to turn my phone off to conserve the battery. I then moved to sit in the photo booth to check the prices of ID photos. I did not take any. After leaving the booth I was confronted and falsely accused by a member of your staff for taking photos on my mobile. He refused to listen to what I was actually doing saying 'I wasn't born yesterday. You probably deleted the photos.' When I offered to show that my phone was off and that there were no photos taken in store. I couldn't stay inside a store that wouldn't even give the benefit of the doubt. Edit to add requested information: My visit was on the Sunday 23rd April (same day as initial reveiw) at approx. 1320. I had time to type on phone in car and mum had looked for me at the front a few times before coming out to find me - leaving her trolley by the security guard post before returning to store with me + app on smartphone. Her receipt is timestamped 1336 from the manned checkout. I am unsure how much detail would be needed to ID the staff member in question compared to how much can be shared on a public platform so apologies if I'm too vague. The colleague in question was male, with a dark bushy beard that spoke with the security post after the incident, just before I left the store in a bad mood/upset. If more detail is needed please can I have an email I can contact as I do not feel like a public forum is a place for full details as the staff in ASDA are usually helpful and friendly and I do not wish to cause too much of a backlash on someone who may have just been having a bad day and taking it out in the wrong way.

I have just received a PCN dated 6.4.23. I am a newly registered disabled person that uses a scooter and a blue badge. I was under the impression that I had 3 hrs of free parking. It takes along time for me to do shopping and things and I had also purchased clothes which take me ages to try on etc. This isn't the way to have me continue shopping here. Can this be looked into please

Popped into asda Bridgend yesterday and was struggling to find a few items until I met up with the lovely Kea working there who couldn't have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and she made me feel a valued customer. Thank you Kea for making my visit so pleasant and so much easier 😊

The trolleys are dangerous my wife pushing trolley in to the store and it suddenly stopped with the handle hit her in the stomach Put the accident in the accident book had an apology from supervisor this happened a week ago I am disappointed that a manager hasn't followed this up with courtesy phone call I continue to use supermarket as it has what I want at reasonable prices my wife however is scared incase this happens again

If I could give 0 Stars I would. From the moment we walked in it was a shambles. Not enough highchairs, no knives and forks available, the food was appalling for the price £6.50 for what you can see In the picture. As you can see the chips have been sat there for a while and the pie was microwaved. Now I'm not expecting a five star meal but an actual meal would have been great. By adding a few more chips and some peas would have been good. The tables were full of food and mess and not cleaned up. It was just appalling. Need more staff.

Had an online delivery with several items missing. When I called got automated message and no one to talk to. Disgusting Asda, I won’t shop at any Asda again.

Took my son into store today to spend his Christmas money. He wanted to purchase a playstation remote and some grips to go with it..I took him to the tills and I used a till a few places down from him, to then notice 2 asda employees refusing the sale. When I proceded to ask why it was refused the boy walked off not even acknowledging me.. when I managed to get an employees attention he told me he needed to be 16 to purchase a remote control!! I asked for the manager which soon become clear you can only speak with the obnoxious security guard who pointed out if I was to try and purchase the remote I would also be refused.

Open till 11.00 pm on the Friday before Christmas - I went at 9.30 and it was all very quiet and relaxed

Very Very Disappointing I called in for breakfast today( 11:00hrs 6 Dec) while my wife was shopping in store. I ordered a full breakfast, toast and a cup of tea. I asked for soft yolks. I sorted out making my tea and went to a table to wait. 15 minutes later my plate was delivered. The first thing I noticed was that the only visible egg had a smashed yolk, I pointed this out to the server and she said that it was because the egg had been flipped. I asked for it to be changed and pointed out there were items missing - hash brown, black pudding and toast. A few minutes later she returned with the egg replaced however this was hard and had been dumped on top of the other egg, breaking that yolk that was fine earlier. A few minutes later 2 slices of toast were deposited on my table. They were not buttered. I wondered if there were butter portions on the plate but on lifting the toast it revealed that the bread was not toasted on both sides. So back to the counter where the same toast was again put through the machine and buttered. I again pointed out that the meal was missing items. I was then told that there wasn’t any but I pointed out hash browns being served as we spoke. Regardless, if all items were not available I should have been informed and could have made different choices. I had almost finished eating when another team member turned up with black pudding. I’m not sure how it had been cooked but it had not been near any grill or griddle, it was soft and soggy. When I again pointed out there was still an item missing she replied, “Look, I know you are disappointed but I’m busy! Do want some cake or something.” I declined the cake and she walked away. Overall, the food itself was OK. I just would have liked all of it on my plate at the beginning. The service however was atrocious, that’s from all 3 who were involved. Neither of them made any attempt to apologise or much effort to sort out a simple breakfast. Even after 5 different conversations/explanations it still wasn’t sorted. There is no excuse for this poor service apart from perhaps complacency and resentment on receiving a complaint. I just wanted a simple breakfast as shown on the menu. Fail, Fail, Fail. Rather a rambling review but so much needed explaining.

Abloute terrible 🤮breakfast was awful after 30 mins I went up to ask how long would be . woman handed me a boiling hot plate which burnt my hand Abloute terrible foodwas horrible and was like they just microwaved it would never eat her again

The worst breakfast I’ve paid for in many a year! They had no filter coffee but were more than happy to charge filter coffee prices for Nescafé instant!!! I’m not guessing it was instant, the jar they were using was right on the counter in front of us, and it was definitely Nescafé! When the food arrived, it had clearly been sitting under the lights on a hot plate, slowly getting dryer and dryer. The Black pudding was rock hard on the outside, it clearly did not enjoy the sun beds at its spa break kitchen location, and the sausages would make 3 day old cardboard taste moist, while the bacon would cut it at 2 day old cardboard! The only thing cooked fresh were the eggs, and they were undercooked leaving that gross mucus-like clear jelly on the top that wobbled and shimmered in the light as you tried to cut the sausages with blunt knives, just to remind you it was there. The toast was nice.

Supermarket brilliant. The cafe is a big disappointment. Asda you need to sort out the extremely lazy so call staff in the caff. Service in the caff was diabolical. Avoid at all costs.

Need to sort the amount of tills/staff available to stop the queues blocking up isles. Also removing the cages for the cardboard would help elevate the frustration felt by many

7 November 2022 Last week 1 in 35 people in Wales were estimated to have Covid. I was very disappointed to see that there was no sanitiser or towels for hands or trolleys available at the entrance to the store - though I found a couple of empty sanitiser bottles elsewhere. After I had paid I was sat waiting and I saw on my receipt that Richard Jenkins the manager had thoughtfully left his phone number at the top so I thought I would tell him my thoughts on his lack of care for his customers health. I dialled the number and tried all the options. A couple of times there was no answer and on a couple more I got a recording asking me to go to a website, just before I was cut off with a curt Goodbye. I looked at the 6 people queuing to speak to the besieged assistant on the customer service counter assistant and didn't have the heart or the energy to queue to ask her if I could see Mr Jenkins so here's a message for him. Pull your finger out Mate - you are a disgrace!

Just a quick note. Used to be 3 hours parking. Not anymore. I've just had a £70.00 parking fine for 2.5 hrs. Costly mistake. Be aware. After receiving a reply from Asda I did take my bank statements in and because I had only spent £48.00 they said there was nothing they would do. Sorry. So, just for everyone to be aware, the parking is for 2 hrs.

This store is nothing but shambolic now since it had the refit!!! No chance of finding items quickly as they are all over the place, walked down 3 aisles looking for tomatoes, nowhere near the salad items gave up in the end, and as for the on lineshoppers, well they like to congregate in the middle of the aisles and chat away to each other blocking the way and stopping you getting items off the shelves. Whoever thought this store layout was good needs sacking.

Having come back from your store today i gave up and went to tesco. You have made so many changes i couldnt find anything it looks like a lot of money as been spent but made worse by the fridges you had to queue up to get in them which on a crowded Saturday morning felt like survival of the fittest.... The changes at checkout looked bad (as someone who wants to support people in work i want to be be served by someone who is employed not look at empty check outs and long queue s)i didn't stay long enough to go through that ordeal....

Click & collect/ delivery, , I’d strongly suggest not to order click and collect or delivery from here, staff never pick items that you have chosen yet you go in the store and these items are clearly on the shelves! Tesco are spot on every time so i suggest to go to them

I frequently shop in your Bridgend store, always receive excellent customer service, but yesterday I purchased a joint of beef costing me over £11 pounds, which not seem a great deal to you, but means a lot to me, cooked it as I have always done, and it was the most disgusting, tough ,chewiest peice of meat I have ever cooked. I have been cooking for over 40 years and this is by far the most disgusting piece of meat I have ever purchased, which pains me because I have never experience this from you you ever

Recently changed the shop around, took away tills and added more self service which is a shame, but still good items and always great customer service

Used for online shop weekly, the last few weeks the substitutes have been increasing in volume and selections given as substitutes have been dreadful. After sending a few items back this week and the choice given to me, i can only assume your store pickers are making a mockery of your customers. I will use another online supermarket in the future. TAO TASHA. you made no effort to reply or fix an issue so do yourself a favour and stop replying to the reviews because you aint doing nothing about it, now your superiors will know that your just a blabbering good for nothing karen. Now sit back in your office chair put your feet up and watch your staff make the wrong decisions as you simply lead like Willy Wonka.

Absolutely awful place too shop, used too shop once or twice a week here but avoiding now at all costs, will happily take My money else where. Toilets closed at 6pm as they can't control the kids in the toilets. Get a grip ! 1 till open with a human blooming ridiculous. Self serve with a huge shop, I don't get paid to work there, give people their jobs back, open the tills back up. Stopped for a breakfast and can say I will not be doing so again over priced rubbish not worth the money and wouldn't recommend anyone to go there very poor quality beyond even what you would expect to receive.

At the moment to much renovation work going on. Stock is being moved from one Isle to another, you don't know where you are when you are shopping. This much disruption the store should close until finished

It is really a good shop. There are many options. There's food, clothing and other household items. I just don't like how expensive it is.

Good place for shopping with diversified, fresh and affordable products. It is located on two levels, where escalators or an elevator will help you get up or down. The toilet for buyers is upstairs. Also, if you want to take a break, you can have a meal , tea or coffee inside the store.

visited here today the 14th june 22. its horrendous. most of disabled parking bays are blocked off and i cant walk from other parking spots to the store. visited cafe only serving tea coffee chocolate and the chocolate was barely warm. most disgusted with asda will be shopping at tesco in future give asda a miss is my advice. chocolate wasnt even warm enough to melt the choc powder in the paper cup and tasted mostly of water. think you need to improve a hell of a lot asda

Some of the staff that work at this store are the most unpleasant I've come across in customer service. Whatever you do, don't inconvenience them by asking a question they can't answer!! Don't even think they operate the so called "customer service" desk anymore either. The looks the staff give you are just so rude and unwelcoming and I always feel a bit intimidated by certain staff...why are these unfriendly people dealing with customers? I hate shopping anyway but this place makes it so much worse for me! If only Aldi did self service!!!

Visited Asda today 2nd may 2022 the ladies toilet were so dirty I was shocked by the state of them the manger needs a word with the cleaner or get a cleaner that does a good job SHOCKING STATE !!!

Went to Asda this evening with my son. Girl at customer services was so RUDE! My son asked for a price on a game, she wasn't, listening,. Passed the box to another member of staff who went off to get it. He didn't even know if he wanted it yet! She then proceeded to ignore us until the game was handed back to her. I then said that my son had asked for the price, her response was a sarcastic "alright" and then said " does he want it or not?" I proceeded to tell her my son is autistic and was very polite when asking for a price and that she didn't even bother to listen to him. Her response " well I can,t hear him" and indicated towards the screen in front of her, whilst giving me a dirty look. Total disinterest, rudeness and she is on customer services!!!! Won,t he shopping with my son there to learn about social interaction ! What an example of what attitude not to have when dealing with customers!
