taking advantage of the inclusive meal with the President hotel as we always do , this visit was not so good, its a carvery -which we like, there is a choice of starter, our waiter didn't mention the soup option which would have been nice and we didnt know there was one until another waiter mentioned it to the next table - too late for us , anyway we enjoyed our prawn cocktail, next the carvery -choice of meats , veg, potatoes etc, i opted for lamb, but i couldn't make my mind up whether it was tough or the cutlery was poor as i couldn't cut it -- a bit of both i suggest as my Yorkshire pudding was also tough!!!!it was hard on the bottom and the edges , suggesting it may have been under the heating lights a little too long , the veg were nothing to rave about and the whole thing was barely warm , the sweets are good , the staff are pleasant ---hopefully this experience was just a hiccup !

Ataying on the Capital Weekend deal at the Royal Bational Hotel this was one of the included options. Limited vegetables, generous serving of meat however not great quality. Good entrée and average dessert.

Catering on an industrial scale akin to 1950’s holiday camps and provides complementary dinners for the Imperial Group. The main course is a basic carvery with awful roast potatoes and one serving of vegetables; I had poached salmon which had dried out under the lamps. The puddings were good

Late choice to come here because the Strand Palace is closed for renovation. Ate before a theatre trip for a family birthday - the price is decent for the pre-theatre dinner, but the food and experience was nothing special. Starters are in a fridge by the entrance so they come very quickly, but nothing spectacular, prawn cocktail, melon or soup. The carvery choice was good and the beef I had was good, but let down by plain potatoes that were not crispy at all, peas that tasted like marrow fat peas, carrots that tasted like out of a tin and a thick gravy. Those that had stuffing with chicken were not impressed by that either. Desserts had a wide choice and the banoffee was rich. The carvery was not anything special and there are many better ones, a Toby carvery would have been preferred by all in the party of 8.

I ate here because I had a voucher from the hotel. There was plenty of food that all tasted decent enough; roast beef, potatoes, vegetables, and plenty of gravy. I really enjoyed the profiteroles on the dessert cart. Filled with cream inside a satisfactory pastry shell, it was smothered with a delicate chocolate sauce; it was pretty good. The servers have all been working here for a a long time and they know the routine well; they were always on top of things making sure I had everything I wanted.

After passing through some sort of time warp we found ourselves in the Saracens Carvery. The menu was from sometime in the mid 1970s, with such starters as prawn cocktail and melon boat. The main carvery course was ok on the meat side, but the vegetables were bland, finally the desserts were all served table side on a dessert trolley, my grandmother would’ve been so proud - true nostalgia. Our meal was free as part of a hotel package, and I still feel that we overpaid. My wife commented that there was nothing served that we cannot cook better at home, so when the food isn’t even of a home cooked standard there is a problem. Additionally the staff were abrupt and I got the feeling we were somehow in their way, the space between tables was cramped and we were continually jostled by other patrons, by waiting staff and on a coup,e of occasions a massive great dessert trolley.

Good value, meal deal available which offers good value for central London. The carvery was excellent value with good sized portions.

The chef, a tall huge guy, threw a plate of food to our lead trip organizer, just because she asked for a fish meal, which was different from the beef that was on the menu for our team. I think it was either because she was a woman or because our whole team was from Africa. If you don’t have the stamina to stomach racist undertones from the service staff and the chef serving the buffet, then this is not the place for you😡😡😡😡

The decor of the restaurant was nice, initially had a welcoming feel to it. The man on reception welcoming me was friendly, as were the other waiting staff. Once seated and going to the carvery, the staff here were another story. The first man didn't say a word when I approached. Just stared, didn't ask what I wanted, no smile, nothing, until I asked for what I wanted. He just proceeded to plonk the food onto the plate with a sour look on his face. As I went to grab my plate thinking he was finished at this point, he finally spoke, bluntly saying "Wait" as he then continued to put other things on my plate which he didn't even bother asking me if I wanted, before handing me my plate back. Made me feel like an inconvenience, even when I said thank you he didn't say anything, just looked like he didn't want to be there. The other guy seemed pretty miserable too. Very awkward to say the least. The starters and dessert were OK, carvery itself was basic, but the some of the staff need serious lessons in hospitality, pretty much explained while other guests didn't seem exactly cheerful. Wouldn't recommend.

We come here irregularly with friends and have been doing so for nearly 30 years. The Saracen’s Carvery provides incredible value for money given its location in the heart of Bloomsbury. Service is friendly. This is a traditional carvery with a sweet trolley.

The roast beef was so over cooked, even a starving animal would not eat it. The servers are some of the most rude individuals I have ever had the misfortune of encountering.

Usually love a carvery but limited choice of veg. No vege gravey. Although soup was very nice for starter. And deserts were average.

We actually stayed in the adjoining Imperial Hotel which is linked internally through the Atrium Bar. As part of the offer on our stay was the option to have a "free" dinner on the first night of our stay, which we decided to have in the carvery of the President Hotel. BIG MISTAKE.

We dined on our first night in Saracen’s Carvery which is within The President Hotel. We were staying in the adjoining Imperial Hotel, Russell Square. A good choice of starters served at table. The house wine was excellent. The choice of Carvery was very good with a choice of Roast Beef, Lamb and Pork there were other dishes such as chicken in a sauce. The helpings of meat were very very generous together with a good helping of fresh vegetables and a Yorkshire pudding made the whole course very filling. We both chose the Lamb which had been cooked to perfection. Desert is served from a trolley at table. My wife had a gateau whilst I chose the fresh fruit salad. All in all an excellent meal of very good value. Recommended.

The meal was just not up to the standards of today. First the service, it was okay but rather staid.

Me echaban un vaso de zumo de naranja de color amarillo, camino a muchos 'e' números con coma flotante para mi gusto, así que quedó intacta. Examinamos el desayuno caliente, la comida parecía bastante 'valor de la marca 'para mí (no, no me importa lo que diga), cocina pila de bien bajo las lámparas de calor (en realidad se podía liberar de metal bajo esas cosas! Great value for the money. plenty of meat and great service. Opens for 17:30 so diners can enjoy food before visiting the theatre.

Nous avons diner en arrivant dans cet hotel et son restaurant reste une bonne surprise .Personnel tres acceuillant ,buffet tres varié et bon .... pour un restaurant d'hotel et prix tres sage .

I feel you would be very hard pressed to find better value for money in a central London hotel. I had 3 courses, a Sprite and a glass of red wine all for £25 including a tip. The prawn cocktail was fine, the roast beef and vegetables also acceptable (and a generous portion) and the apple with cream for pudding was actually very good indeed. The menu is perhaps leaning towards the 1970's but what's wrong with that. Would certainly go again.

Dinner voucher when you stay at one of the Imperial hotels. Very mediocre food, unwelcoming atmosphere, paper napkin stuffed in wine glass to be "fancy."

Nos alojamos en un hotel "hermano" y nos dijeron que una reserva no sería necesario en este asador. Éramos un grupo de ocho. A la llegada al restaurante, al principio nos dijeron que no había una mesa disponible para 8. Entonces nos dijeron que podíamos tener uno después de unos 20 minutos. Bien, estábamos contentos con eso. Todos disfrutamos de nuestras comidas.

Did not find the breakfast to be very good. Suppose be included with our hotel stay but was 5 pounds per person extra. The poached eggs were over done, the scrambled eggs were very wet with no seasoning at all. the toast was dry and cold and the peameal bacon was very fatty. You had to try and catch a waiter in order to get a bit more coffee it seemed once you sat down the never came near you.

À 2 pas de notre hôtel, nous avions un 2 pour 1 à ce restaurant d'hôtel. Service moyen, entrée très bien (bar à salade), plat principal moyen (on doit aller chercher notre assiette et il y a 3 choix de plats), bonne bière, dessert bien. Rien qui va passer à l'histoire mais le prix était pas cher du tout alors ca fait l'affaire quand on ne veut pas sortir.

Was part of a package on the first night. Dinner. Three meats with all the trimming, plus a starter and dessert. represented very good value for money and the restaurant was busy to prove that point.

On booking the Royal international hotel for 2 nights we were given a complimentary meal at one of the imperial hotel group restaurants and when I looked at reviews I was not expecting anything edible, however I was most definitely pleasantly surprised!!!!!!

The three course pre theatre meal is excellent value - £15.50 and even more so if you are staying 2 or more nights at one of the Imperial Hotels, you get this meal complimentary on your first night stay. We had the prawn cocktail - and there were plenty of prawns in it - followed by roast lamb for me and roast beef for hubby, from the carvery, with yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrots, peas, green beans, gravy - the meat in both cases was beautifully tender and the potatoes roasted to perfection - not frozen. For sweet I chose from the trolley butterscotch gateaux, and hubby glazed apple tart, both with lashings of fresh pouring cream. We asked for a jug of water which was brought to our table, and were pleasantly surprised at the cost of 2 glasses of red house wine - £5.60 - great value for London - we pay more at home! All in all a very pleasant experience, with friendly attentive staff. Well done !

The portions in this carvery are very big but the food is very good. Staff are pleased to help and are always available to help with extra's. I would recommend at least one nights trip here for a meal.

While staying at the President Hotel, we ate breakfast at the Saracen Carvery. It was a huge buffet spread with many hot foods as well as fruits. Service was quick and efficient.

Puedo decir sinceramente que los aperitivos estaban bien, el resto de la comida no era pero era gratis ya que nos quedamos en el hotel Imperial al lado. El asador tiene que ser uno de los peores que he visto ya que tenía su habitual selección de carnes, pero sólo nos dieron una como en otros puede tener una porción de cada una de ellas, y luego sólo patatas asadas, verduras mezcladas (congelados como te gustaría comprar en un supermercado) un yorkshire y salsa. Postre era pickable! Si hubiera estado pagando que habría se quejaron ... pero ¿qué puede hacer cuando es gratis?

We were staying at the Imperial and had a 3 course meal in Saracens,it was ok,a choice of Lamb,Beef or Chicken with veg,yorkshire puddings and gravy,starters were usual fare,Prawn Cocktail,Melon,Pate....etc,the Desert was Cheesecake,Chocolate Cake...the usual...it was nothing flash but nice all the same.

The foos and service were ghastly. Not recommended, even if dinners and breakfasts are complimentary.

The menu was varied and reasonably priced. we enjoyed a three course meal with wine which was also reasonably priced. the dining area is spacious and light and airy. Friendly attentive staff good service.

Starters and desserts are pre prepped, and the Carvery is not very appetising. The chef could be slightly more friendly.

Ya que nos quedamos por 5 noches en el hotel President, tuvimos una comida de 3 platos gratis a la llegada. Era delicioso. Buena selección de aperitivos, asador, fabuloso (y del salmón para los amantes del pescado!) con una buena selección de tranvía dulce para terminar con. Así que bueno, volvimos en una de nuestras noches para comer allí de nuevo!

El personal era muy amable y agradable y la comida era absolutamente agradable!!! Disfruté especialmente la selección de desayuno y la frescura de la comida. Conocí a una señora muy agradable que estaba sentado en la mesa de al lado de la mía, y charlamos un poco lo que hizo que mi experiencia sea aún más memorable.

My partners soup was okay as was my prawn cocktail but the carvery was terrible. The chef serving was so miserable and unhelpful, the lamb tough, the vegetables uneatable and the gravy gloupy. On the plus side our waiter was excellent.

It's a carvery, and so you do not expect much service. Even so, the service is a bit flaky. The food is fair enough but nothing special. Actually, I thought it a little above average, but the three friends with me were less impressed.

Large impersonal dining room. The table we were shown to was directly infront of a fire exit.The food was cooked to a good standard and presented in the manner of a carvery.All in all it was a reasonable meal at a good price.

Debo empezar diciendo que no soy un gran fan del President Hotel donde me alojo entre 30 y 40 noches al año cuando estoy en Londres. El ambiente era terrible ahogarse en tanta luz me sentí que estaba bajo interrogatorio. El aire acondicionado de la habitación estaba muy fría y tuve que volver a mi habitación para una chaqueta. El servicio merodeaba entre siendo horrible y no existía. La comida no estaba mal pero todo estaba un poco insípido. Nunca más!

The platter good value for money as it can be eaten by 2 adults. The steak is great especially when medium done..

La comida en el restaurante era bueno para la mayor parte (y el chef/Carver sirve tenía un buen sentido del humor) pero las verduras junto con parecía un poco de pena y floja - genuinamente parecía que estaba lata.

The carvery was excellent with three choices of meat and a vegetarian option, the roast potatoes were perfect. There was a wide choice of desserts and the waiting staff were very pleasant.

Il personale è gentile e molto solerte, la cena è a buffet e non è molto varia (o carne, di vitello, di maiale e di agnello, o pesce, salmone), però le quantità sono abbondanti e la qualità del cibo è davvero ottima. L'ambiente è carino e intimo, e dall'apparenza raffinata. Stando in Central London difficile trovare un posto dove mangiare così bene a questo prezzo, volendo evitare i pubs

Not brilliant, but very reasonable for central London, would give it a wide berth unless you really like roast dinners, dried out meat, overdone veg, etc

Food was luke warm and evening carvery meat hard from being kept under heat lamp. Breakfast was also luke warm and cup of 'tea' was so strong it was undrinkable.

pleasant surroundings popped in for a meal before a theatre visit the food was good plentiful for what we required would visit again

We went to the carvery after our return from a show. Pleasant surroundings clean and well presented. Staff were polite and attentive food was ok but my vegetables were on the cool side and the bread roll slightly stale

service and attention by the staff excellent, not fully utillised by patrons, price and service very good value

We got a free meal on our first night stay at the President Hotel.. Basic, limited choice. Excellent service. Closes fairly early so ok if you want to eat befor going out for the evening.

Me decidí a comer aquí, ya que había probado antes hace unos años cuando me estaba quedando en la zona solo y aunque me había sido el ambiente le faltaba la comida era buena.

Hemos comido aquí 3 o 4 veces como parte de una oferta de fin de semana en el hotel Imperial al lado.
