Entertaining night. I had sea bass with chilli+garlic which was tasty. Plenty of food, but the "show" means you eat a little later than equivalent table times at other restaurants, worth bearing in mind with young kids. There were 7 of us - the table arrangement and noise in there meant its hard to interact/talk to others in your party. Fun evening, fairly expensive. Food good - i really liked mine, but wife+kids both just said it was "ok".

The first time we came to Gaucho we were blown away. We were shown the steaks before choosing and everything was really good. This was our second time and we unfortunately were quite disappointed this time. We weren’t shown the steaks, the steak had a lot of fat, no flavour and was a bit burnt. The Caesar was burnt and the Mac and cheese was actually quite disgusting it just tasted of spice and no flavour. The best thing was the ravioli but it was definitely shop bought. I’ve given 3 stars due to our first really good experience but unfortunately for the very hefty price tag we will be going to other better steak restaurants in future.

Amazing building fantastic food and fantastic cocktails and service

Liverpool has quite a few spectacular steak places. Few match the service and experience of this upscale dining experience. Went with my inner circle for a quiet midweek birthday dinner. The opulence of the bar that greets you in the centre of this older converted bank borders jaw dropping. We sat in a booth near the kitchen and the view of the high ceilings and immaculate table settings was impressive. Proper table service is rare. To have it at the level we had that night was sublime. First the starters. W of us had the sea bass ceviche which was well portioned and a dance on the taste buds. We also had the crab tostadas.... Yum! I, since it was my birthday, had a massive ribeye topped with fresh chimichurri that melted in my mouth. My friend had a pumpkin, ricotta and sage he said was flavoured beautifully. My partner had the small marinated steak. Small portion, perfectly grilled. I was pleasantly surprised by the birthday dessert... Think the lads had something to do with that. Perfect night out... But then again money is meant to be spent, so spend it where memories will last

I recently enjoyed a fantastic meal at this place! Our server was brilliant and really made the experience special—definitely a standout member of the team. The food and drinks were top-notch, and everything was clean and welcoming. I appreciated the quick service and friendly vibe. we would eat here more often but it’s just a tad more expensive than our budget allows. it’s a place we go to as a treat.

Stunning restaurant and certainly the perfect choice for a celebration meal. It was a little quiet at lunch time on a Saturday but I can imagine it’s wonderful in the evenings. Food was perfect and the staff were impeccable. Thank you!

First time at this place, and last unfortunately, Food good, service ok, please don't get a table by the kitchen! Inside the building itself is impressive, but sorry to say on our visit it absolutely smelt of sewage around the entrance to the toilets / main entrance / exit on Saturday evening, just awful. Really don't think we would go back to this venue, IMO its overpriced, much better steak restaurants around.

Went for a few drinks. Lovely ambience. Callum bar manager was great. He went above and beyond explaining cocktails to us. Nice friendly gent. Tim front of house manager was great in allocating us a table for a special occasion at peak time. Thanks look forward to our visit again this week.

The food is great, the performance entertaining and the Early Diner menu is reasonably priced. Thoroughly enjoyable lunch.

I really liked Guacho, I've been here several times, but we were asked to move to the bar 4 times so that we could finish drinking cocktails there, after the food we ate, it was terrible and we felt uncomfortable, despite the fact that the table was booked! At the same time, we paid for the service, but I'm unlikely to come back here!

I’ve celebrated my and my friend’s birthday yesterday and it was such a perfect experience! The restaurants team was so friendly all evening and kept checking is everything ok . The personal was doing their job 100%! After the dinner I’ve got a little birthday cake with a candle as a gift and that was so nice! 🥺❤️ as my friends birthday is in 3 days, I’ve asked for a cake for her and they brought a little cake with a candle for her as well ! Everything could not be any more perfect ! Food was perfect, area neat and tidy, everything came very fast and in time, everyone so friendly , environment was gorgeous and perfect ! For sure will come back and recommend all my friends ❤️

We came here yesterday in The Restaurant Tour. The food was gorgeous and we were made to feel so welcome by all of the wonderful staff. My favourite place we went to. 😉 The place felt luxurious and we felt very well looked after. I loved it.

my boyfriend took me here for valentine’s day and we had a great time. the food was impeccable as was the service. our waitress was a lady named Kim and she was absolutely brilliant. she explained the menu to us in detail and helped us choose the best food available. Gaucho is very lucky to have her as she made our experience a lot better. thank you!

Booked for 7.30pm seated at 8.20pm, sat with no drinks for a while, starter eventually came at 8.45pm with a wrong order so partner had to wait again. We eventually got the main course around 9:30/9:45pm. We had chosen a set menu which was great. However, when it came to the dessert, they had run out of the main two desserts, which is very poor for day 1/3 of a set menu. So we did not have any dessert and opted to leave the restaurant. We left the restaurant at 10.30 pm so within three hours we only managed our starter and main. If there was dessert left, we would have left much later. Upon booking, it said the table would need to be returned within 1.45 hrs. However, we were there for over three hours, which made for poor planning, especially for those with plans for later. I think complimentary drinks should have been offered for the very long wait and the absence of the dessert. It would have been appreciated.

Absolutely amazing food, the servers were friendly and chatty and could answer any questions you had. Quite pricey but definitely worth it. The little cake with the writing was given to us on the house which was lovely. All round amazing experience.

Halal options are available and the staff are so efficient - 5 star isn’t enough for the staff. They were well informed and were able to tell me which sauces I can choose as some had alcohol etc. However I do wish there were more steak cuts which were Halal as well i.e. Ribeye *hint hint* and the common sauces (mushroom and peppercorn). The place itself was beautiful and defo would want to go again.

Went here for a meal with a voucher recieved for our wedding which totalled a £110 where it is a set menu aside from the original menu to start it was tacos and salads etc main was just a small piece of steak and a few fries with e chimichuri sauce and desert a chocolate brownie and ice cream with a glass of chandon. Although service was great the price of the voucher to the quality of food is shocking and a 12.5 % service charge which we didn't pay not even a side salad or portion of vegetables with the steak this is all added extras we won't be back as there is alot better quality restaurants in Liverpool where you get more for your money very disappointed.

Dined for a special occasion. Incredible service throughout. Such a beautiful venue and ambiance. Our waitress was Michaela and she was fabulous, really chatty and accommodating. The food was cooked to perfection and they even added a complimentary desert and mini cocktail for our celebrations. 10/10 recommend.

Beautiful interior but poor value for money. Main course badly burnt. After reporting this, we received the main course again and again it was badly burnt. An apology was just about enough and we had to make do with that. Not recommended.

Our server was called Nicole. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained well any unusual dishes. She was the right amount of friendly and attentive and really added to the wnjoyment of the experience.

Loved everything about this place. The food and drinks are superb, the building and decor are beautiful but the staff really make it. Special shout out to Sebastian who was attentive all night, his customer service is definitely 5*.

Service and atmosphere are fantastic but the food itself I find to be overpriced for what it is. I had the grilled sea bass with tenderstem broccoli and cavolo Nero. The fish was ok, nothing special for £25.50 and the broccoli had ajo blanco which I didn’t think meshed well. However there was live music with a live singer, so I can’t complain much.

I've been here many times and I used to love Sapporo but it's gone completely downhill. The main concern was that the majority of the taster menu they no longer cook in front of you. All of the starters were made in the kitchen and brought out to us, and we waited 1 hour and 15 for the show to start but this didn't last very long... Our chef cooked the meat in front of us, whilst a chef at the opposite table cooked the rice for another group and then they just passed the food over to each other. I felt really ripped off as this is the whole point of being there for me. They also no longer cook the egg to throw and make sure you catch in your mouth. They did randomly cook lots of sliced potatoes for some reason but none of my party asked for these and they went un-touched. If you have never been to a Teppanyaki before then you would probably still enjoy this as a new experience, but if you have been to one then you would feel let down by this. The food was still nice, but overall not worth the price for this experience.

This venue is amazing, its in a stunning building with a great bar and seating area.The majority of the staff are superb, from first greeting to bar staff to the lady who took us to our table .. top level and really impressed. Unfortunately our server for the evening was RUDE and at one point argumentative. Real shame as it took the edge off what should have been a great night. Happy to share the waitresses name with the management if they want to know.

New Year Dinner in Gaucho! Our server was Croatian gent named Tim! We have been dining in restaurants all around the country and we feel excellent service is a must for venues of Gauchos reputation! But this gent went above all of our expectations! He was friendly, humble, knowledgeable and confident at the same time! He even made us genuinely laugh multiple times during dinner and we are so far off having similar sence of humor;or that what we tought !! We will definitely come back as this was perfect New Year Eve for us! That young man made our night so memorable we felt we have to give him a shoutout here!

Best restaurant I've been to in Liverpool yet. The staff were amazing. The food was superb. Tad bit expensive for my lifestyle, but worth the experience, since I have not one thing to complain about. I shared a platter of 4 different types of steak with my friends. I am no steak connoisseur, but this was the best and most evenly cooked steak I've ever had. Highly recommended.

We visited Gauchos for my mums 60th and my brother’s birthday. Our waiter was very friendly and we cannot fault the service at all. Drinks were all good. Starters and deserts were nice. Although £20 for 3 small scallops is steep. For mains we had steaks and wagyu burgers. The steak was average, I’ve had better elsewhere. The burgers arrived freezing cold as did all 5 portions of chips. We had to send the burger back to be re-cooked. The new burger arrived warm but the chips were still freezing cold. When the bill arrived there was a 12.5% service charge added, which we paid as the service was good and we didn’t want to be difficult but the full bill for 5 people come up to £420!! We understand gauchos is an expensive restaurant but for that price we would expect good quality main meals (like in Hawksmoor) and the meals we received were similar to those from your local pub when they offer a mid-week deal for a steak and a pint for £10. I would return for a drink at the bar but would not return for food and would not recommend it to friends and family.

We went for a dinner in Gaucho not long ago and we were amazed by the bauty of the building. Our experience got even better by the warm service provided by Christina and the quality of the food. I strongly recomend that restauran to whoever loves good steak and great service!

We made the 5 hour journey up to Liverpool for my partners birthday and needless to say our dinner choice did not disappoint! The food was fantastic but what made it so special was our server Michaela! She was so thorough and incredibly easy to talk to. Food choices were explained at table side which we were very impressed by, it also came out very fast and fresh which was great. The food itself was cooked to perfection. We had a birthday dessert brought out to us which was such a lovely touch and before leaving michaela gave us some recommendations for other great places around the city. Highly reccomend this place and another big thank you to michaela, you were amazing!

Booked for my cousins 50th birthday and the food was amazing, set menu scallops, fillet steak and cheesecake for me, I am difficult to please but I couldn’t find any fault in the food at all beautiful. Service was excellent, our waiter (can’t remember his name but he was also very good at massaging my shoulders, so I hope he remembers) all the steaks cooked to perfection which for a table of 9 is not easy to remember where they all go but 10/10 ! And the surprise birthday dessert was the icing on the cake

Our Server was Rachel and she was amazing! Made me and my friend feel instantly welcome and had little conversations with us throughout the night adding to our experience! Our glasses were never empty she was very attentive! The food was incredible and cooked too perfection!

Gave us food poisoning, ruined a birthday celebration, steak was expensive and not cooked correctly (burnt at edges, rare in middle despite ordering medium). Refused refund and ignored emails when complaining. Wouldn’t recommend

It was my first time at this restaurant, and I came to celebrate my graduation as well as my husband’s and my birthday. They surprised us with a delicious dessert and three glasses of champagne. Vincenza, who served us, and the man in the suit were so friendly. We will definitely come back
