Tried to call them 4 times. No answer......good luck

I had mushroom tagliatelle and it was really bland, it basically tasted like white sauce. I also got a side of chips which were overly salty to the point they were inedible. Decent cocktails though and nice atmosphere. I’d recommend it as a place for drinks but not food.

Went for a wedding meal - myself, my husband and our two witnesses. Absolutely amazing experience, so glad we chose here for our celebration meal. Our server Ben was fantastic, amazing service from him and his knowledge on the steaks and recommended ways to be cooked was great! We even got a gorgeous board with congrats written in chocolate and a glass of prosecco. Food was out of this world! 100% recommend and will definitely be returning.

The food was perfect and the steak was just on point. We had the best service and it was all thanks to Santialo who provided excellent service throughout our meal. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure all our needs were met. I highly recommend him and can’t wait to visit Gauchos again.

We had an amazing time at Gaucho, amazing food and quick service. All staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. We were well looked after by all staff making sure the food was okay and if we needed any more drinks. Special thanks to Aoife who went above and beyond and made sure everything was perfect. We had a great night and will definitely be back ☺️

Extremely posh. Service excellent. Completely wasted on me. How much info and options does the average person need to order a steak? The folk with expense accounts and clients to impress will think the prices good value.!

It's always a pleasure to enjoy a nice full flavoured steak in and superb ambience with a staff attending to your needs and wishes.

Visited there on Sunday for a family birthday celebration. The service was fantastic, and the team member who looked after us was very friendly and seemed to take a genuine interest in us (I'm sure they were just doing their job well, though). The steak is among the very best I've had anywhere (if you're used to buying steak in imperial measurements, be prepared to do some maths, it's all in metric). There were great gluten-free options (the gf bread was actually very nice) but one note to be awere of, the peppercorn sauce is not what you're expecting, it is absolutely delicious, but more akin to a beef dripping sauce with some pepper in, i still recommend it though. The ice cream was the only gluten-free free dessert option, and in all honesty, it was subpar, but I'm reliably informed that the banana pancake with dulce de lece sauce was delicious (every else at my table love it). The team even brought out a beautiful mini cake for the birthday girl at our table, which was apparently delicious also. All in all I must say the food was great and the service was equally good, the restaurant was a little dead but it was a sunday evening so I think that's understandable. It's definitely worth it for a celebration

Great steaks, nice and fast service.

A dining experience worth visiting! Food was excellent, the chefs cooking the food performing for you, we had a lunch set menu for £25 which included a drink and it was plenty for a lunch! The starters were so good! The chef cooked our mains and entertained us while it was cooking. Great for family occasions or a work night out!

Dined here as the reviews were good. The Sushi and noodles were delicious and the service was good. The only downside was that we had decided that we would like to dine at our own table and we were placed at the back of the restaurant, beside the entrance,in front of the bar, which was quite cold and very bright, more like a diner than a restaurant. Tip was also added to your bill in advance. £82 for 3 cocktails, a beer, 2 sushi plates and 2 plain noodles.

We booked a reservation for 815pm and arrived 10 minutes early. Told we would be seated in the bar area (not mentioned when you make a reservation so beware). We were told to stand in the bar area and we would be seated shortly. Ordered drinks that were good. After thirty minutes I checked with the front and was told we were next and the lady pointed to the table. Five minutes later they seated somebody else there. I returned to the hostess station and they said they had made a mistake and gave our table away. They offered to let us order and sit the waiting area! It was now 45 minutes after our reservation with no table available in sight so we left. We had 2 nights in Liverpool and this places ruined one of them. They could care less. Let’s see if they charge me the $40 reservation fee. Would not recommend this place obviously. Pathetic establishment.

If you’re looking for a unique dining experience in Liverpool, try the Argentine Steak Tasting meal at Gaucho on Water Street. We were superbly treated to a very special evening by our private Chef Kristine, who not only prepared our steaks to perfection but also educated us on the meat cuts, herbs and spices used to deliver a tasty treat.

This place was amazing , service excellent . Cocktails were decent, and we had the burgers. These were wonderful. The building is beautiful.

Ketchup our chef was brilliant. Made us all comfortable and our experience a lot of fun. Food was amazing. We went for three of the set tasting menus which were brilliant. Big portions and no worry of not getting your order when sitting with other people as the chef has your order to his side. All clean and fresh. Waiting on staff for drinks were great and would recommend the gin and lychee cocktail! Delicious. Desert included in tasting menu was also great. The Spanish guy cleaning was also lovely telling us how all products used are non allergenic and how cleaning is done to make it so hygienic. Really lovely unrecognised guy.

We had booked out the private dining room for a family celebration of my partners 30th. Everything was fantastic, great drinks, great food, great atmosphere. And the server, who I believe was called Rachel (Texan girl, apologies if I've misremembered your name) was absolutely fantastic. I've worked in hospitality myself for many years and she is an asset to the restaurant!

We loved our experience here, my partner loved having his food cooked in front of him. Mine came from the kitchen due to a gluten allergy which is great as they are taking in to account possible cross contamination. I just wish there were more choices for gluten free. I would have loved to have ordered more food (therefore spending more) but unable due to lack of and how confusing it was. It was busy and understand the staff have a lot of people to attend to but there lack of knowledge regarding the gluten free food was a problem.

Me and my friends attended this amazing restaurant for my 18th birthday. We were met by a member of staff at the door and took us straight to our table. We were served by an amazing waiter called Ben and he made sure that all our needs were met, when ordering we were stuck for choice as to which steak we could get, Ben came over with a tray of steaks and went over each one with an overview and a recommendation of how it’s best to be cooked. We had a person with a nut allergy and Ben made sure that anything he ate didn’t contain nuts. All the food was absolutely amazing all of us were very happy and we were stuffed. Near the end they came over with a free cheesecake with a candle and sang happy birthday for me without evening asking for it which made the night even better.

Came last night with our 4 children for our daughters 16th birthday. The chefs as always put on quite a show an make each an every guest feel special. We had a great time weve all been before but we where delighted to see it was as busy as ever and the performance style cooking was just as we have loved it . Had a lovely display and drums for daughters dessert. Only thing we felt was a bit slow was drinks but the restaurant qas at capacity so all good . Fnatastic food and service thank you .

Was looking forward to eating here after many recommendations, what can I say, steak was cooked perfectly but we wasn’t wowed by it and if I’m been honest I’ve cooked better steaks at home, We had the honey roasted veg and mash, veg wasn’t the best still a little hard and didn’t taste like they was honey roasted, Mash was the best part of the meal (which tells you something as the simplest thing was the tastiest) the service was very good, very welcoming and telling us about the steaks, downside to the service was when I asked for the drinks menu (to order another drink) but the server didn’t come back until we pretty much finished the meal. Overall a lovely place to try but probably won’t return which is a shame as was really looking forward to it

Shame the food didn’t match the splendour and ambience of the building! Very expensive which in itself is ok but it simply wasn’t worth it as steaks were average at best, chips so hard they were inedible, and sides greasy. Deserts were good. Wine £60 for a very average bottle, water £5 be warned! We spent £25 on the stuff. Service charge automatically added and as we had to leave our table to order drinks as no one came, had to ask for our table to be cleared and were brought the bill before a desert menu was offered it was disappointing. All in all a very poor experience but as it was for my sons 21st and we were out as a small group none of us wanted a fuss over paid and left but would not go again despite it being a stunning place to look at and be in.

Christina served us this afternoon.., her service was exemplary.. her knowledge was second to none. She is an utter credit to your restaurant

I had a lovely steak dinner there a steak you couldn't get from places like Asda. Rachel the lovely little waitress from Texas helped me a lot to get what steak I wanted and it was cooked divinely must admit i did look out of place but they still accepted me 😁

I booked a table for 11 for 8pm at this beautiful restaurant. The booking process was easy and I appreciate Isabella helping with the amendments of my booking multiple times. We were excited to turn up for our dinner here. Upon arrival I told them the booking and was asked to sit near the bar as our table was not ready. I could tell the reservation attendants had clearly forgotten our booking as I noticed them panic under their breath. We waited 25 mins to be seated. We did order drinks whilst we were near the bar. Did not receive them for quite a while. We had been seated by then. I would say the overall service was slow despite it not actually being that busy. Took 2 hours for ordering and food to arrive. I wanted a dessert but didn’t order one as they never offered the dessert menu despite the extensive waiting. The food was good maybe not quite worth the price tag. Considering our extremely expensive tab we had noticed they had added a few things we didn’t order. But also the 12.5% service charge felt a bit of a cheek. Also there was a disruptive couple besides our party. It was extremely if putting as all we could hear was the S word. How can one enjoy a meal with that mess. Control your guests

My husband and I had a lovely lunch at Gaucho! The set lunch menu is a great deal - we got 2 courses for £25. The room is beautiful, the food and cocktails were tasty, and our server Christine was very attentive. Most of all, I really appreciate that the restaurant is dog-friendly from 12-6pm, because our pup Double Bubble loves to join us for a meal!

Oh my, what a fantastic feast it was...! First time at Gaucho, and I absolutely loved the place. The variety of meats is great; each steak is a mouthwatering excellence! We will be back!

Food was absolutely amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection, but not before being shown the available cuts on offer. All our food was amazing, from the starters to desert. Our waitress Vincenza was brilliant, going the extra mile to help us celebrate our wedding anniversary. The style and mellow atmosphere of the restaurant made for a great weekday date night.

My wife and I went for a date at this restaurant, and had the beef tasting menu. Chef Kristina crafted an outstanding experience with impeccable food, service, and friendly staff. I wholeheartedly recommend it, and special thanks to Kristina for making us feel incredibly comfortable and welcome.

I can't believe how terrible their customer service is! It's absolutely the worst I've ever experienced. If you happen to have any allergies, do yourself a favor and stay far away from that place. The service you get for the price you're paying is completely unacceptable. The management has absolutely zero skills when it comes to customer service.

Stunning interior that really sets the mood. Outstanding food and wine. On a Wednesday there's a Steak Night and it's really excellent value. Chateaubriand was absolutely perfect, paired with a really nice red. Really attentive staff throughout, will definitely go back.

Booked one of the private dining rooms for my wife's 50th birthday and I cannot thank Isabelle enough for all of her help in ensuring everything went to plan. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with and made sure the room was set up perfectly and that the birthday cake I dropped off in the afternoon, was stored in the kitchen until after the meal. We all had a fantastic evening and ALL of the staff were so friendly and approachable. The food and the service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for anybody, My wife was so overwhelmed with the venue, the food and the service, so for me it couldn’t have gone any better. Will definitely be returning soon.

Gaucho Liverpool- Lovely little night for our anniversary dinner. The food was delicious, great music playing and nice vibes. Our server Jacob was lovely and helped us choose our dish out. We got to speak to the manager Dimitri who was very helpful and polite and provided exceptional service. This is our second time at Gaucho and I will continue to come! 100% recommend.

Been here before an the Manchester one but food this time wasn’t up to scratch the fries were refried & bullet proof mixed in with fresh ones an my partner ordered well done steak and got medium well an for the price I expect a pleasant perfect meal so the manager needs to address this with the kitchen to ensure quality consistency every time !

The drinks took forever to come and were over priced. A tiny measure of baileys was £8.50. They said it was a double and it didn’t even fill a thimble full! They didn’t explain the menu at all well. I ordered a steak, not realising the small numbers at the side were £75. It was tiny and with a bit of rice and veg. I couldn’t believe it was that price. My partner had a bit of lamb for £30. Entertainment was ok but the same repeated for each group so became tired. Nice meal out with friends but a total rip off in price!!

Had a divine evening celebrating my birthday in this gorgeous restaurant. The service was remarkable. All staff was extremely attentive, especially Tim who made the evening extra special for us. The steak was exquisite and cooked to perfection. The wine was smooth and elegant. Great selections of cocktails. Excellent atmosphere. Whilst enjoying the most perfect evening, Tim bought a surprise cake with a lit candle for me to make a birthday wish which completed the night. We celebrate me & had loads of fun. Very bad experience. Came here for a friends birthday. Our party included a vegetarian. She ordered a vegetarian dish and was provided a dish that contained meat. We asked the server if her dish had meat. We were promised that it did not have meat it in repeatedly. We asked for the manager who also promised us that the meal did not have meat in it. We then asked for someone who was above the manager - they came over and apologised for the mistake - our dish did contain meat. All we wanted was an apology. Instead we were made to feel like liars. I do not recommend visiting if you are vegetarian or if you have dietary requirements because this clearly isn’t taken seriously.

It has been agreed with our neighbours of table that food has been served cold. The veggies were not specified in the menu which one would have been offered and I found hard carrots hard bitroot hard parsnips which I don't prefer. 12%of service added without offering the option of refusing or reducing it, I found it a bit extreme. Meat been served on a cold stone tray and was already not even hot enough at first place. Definitely is not a place where I would go again. It's overpriced for what they give I enjoyed more panoramic tbh. Ps...it is meant to be an Argentinian restaurant...menu is completely English...just saying

It was a quietish night by normal standards but Jose and Nicole made sure we had a super girls’ evening out. The food, as always, was fantastic.

We went there for the Beef Tasting Menu and our chef was Kristina. Everything was fabulous!! The food, service and the friendliness of the staff! Definitely I will be and 100% recommended. Special thanks for Kristina for her sincerity, she made us feel so comfy and welcomed there.

Its gaucho if you want good meat this is the place. Inside it looks verry upscale and the staff makes you feel important 10/10 would go again

Called in at lunch time for a birthday celebration. We chose to have the "Emperor" tasting menu and was not disappointed, this is a mixture of meat and fish dishes with starters of miso soup and sushi. The waitress was friendly, and looked after all our drink needs. Our chef was "Tam" and by coming here lunch time had him all to ourselves. Tam put a great show on, expertly showing off all his tricks and was very friendly, but more importantly he cooked and presented the food beautifully. This taster menu seems quite expensive, but when you take into account the quality of the food and the amount served, it was really good value. If you can manage it? you also have a sweet of choice to finish. We spent just over 2 hrs here and fully enjoyed it, and will call again. Highly recommended. Ps:- The first time we called here was when the restaurant first opened, which was 20 years ago to the day of this visit, and was also to celebrate my wife's birthday. Nice to see the experience was as good today, as was 20 years ago.

We came for our 2 year anniversary and Ben (think that was his name!) made our evening so special, his service was amazing - friendly and genuine and never too much. He went above and nothing was too much trouble. Can’t wait to come back!

Came her for our Wedding Anniversary, and so pleased we did. I was apprehensive about having to sit with strangers whilst eating, but the way it's done is worth it. You are entertained from the beginning by the skills and humour of the chef. Everything is cooked fresh, right before your eyes. I had a Tuna steak that tasted delicious. This meal was one of the highlights of our anniversary break.

Dinner last night at the Gaucho was very enjoyable. The Service was excellent with our server Sentillian being attentive and helpful without being intrusive. For starters had the Empanada, the prawns and the seabass cervical. The cerviche, I feel, was the most notable of the three, though the Empanda was a close second if, slightly spicy. The main course of beef, no surprise there, was good, well cooked to specification and reasonable value, as was the Melodias Malbec. The styling and atmosphere is good and high end with a twist on Art deco in a very elegant surroundings. However it is spoiled by the addition of a DJ playing largely elevator music and a volume just high enough to annoy. I dont go to an expensive restaurant to sit in the middle of a music festival. I would suggest the management rethink the superfluous expense of a DJ in place of letting the conversation flow. Overall I enjoyed the food, Service, and decor... the atmosphere ... well that was sadly not what it could have been... Worth a visit but I would ask them to keep the volume down.

Wow!Wow!Wow! From the moment we walked in until we walked out ,the service was fantastic. I can't recommend this place highly enough!!!! The knowledge of the staff when my wife asked for a certain wine . His recommendation was excellent (so my wife says I don't drink wine). And the dancing was awesome

OK I thought about overall score here long time. On Food, service, atmosphere it would get 4 to 5 stars. Can't really fault. Great food in classy surroundings and good , speedy and attentive service. The overall 3 stars is driven solely by the prices. When your wine list starts at almost £50 per bottle (and it's just an OK malbec) and all starters are well over £12 mark then you know you are in for expensive night - which I wasn't quite counting on at this level. Even if you keep to the lower price menu items and avoid either starter or dessert you are looking at £150+ for a night out . You can have 2 nights out for that price at other very decent restaurants in Liverpool with similar high quality food and ambience. I know that inflation has pushed prices sky high over last year - but this is still a price that does not reflect value for what you get.

Went for our 11th wedding anniversary, the food was really nice, steak was cooked to perfection, used the free cocktail voucher, which was really nice and they asked if we were celebrating anythig, at the end of the meal they brought us over complimentary fizz, so lovely of them. Hristina was our server and she was lovely, attentive and her knowledge about how steak should be cooked was good, she made good reccomendations.
