For a short while Santi's served tasty Italian meals but then it reverted to a fish and chip shop. You can still eat on the premises, but only pizzas are Italian.

We stayed in Birtley for 4 nights and visited Santi's on the first night. It was very friendly and accommodating for our family of 3. The risotto was superb. As was the pizza and the child's Carbonara. The potato skins to start were lovely too. We were so impressed that, even though we were out sightseeing most of the time, we made it back for a total of 3 visits in 4 days.
