Wasn't asked what size breakfast we wanted. Ended up with a massive plate of grease . Hash browns disgusting. Bacon all fat . Eggs hard . Sausages cheap and tasteless . The most disgusting breakfast I've ever had out . Never will we go again The lady behind the counter seemed I a huge rush to get us ordered and ordered us over to a certain table Stay away . Go somewhere else .

I visited the lunchbox in Swansea market for a full english breakfast today 17/02/2020 and it was the worst breakfast I have ever eaten, it was really greasy, the sausages would not cut with knike they would just break in to bits very soft and terrible taste , the hash brown the saturated in fat and the toast was toasted on one side and cold , it has to be the worst breakfast I have ever eaten , and you can't say it was cheap because it cost me £7 . So don't bother .

For a greasy spoon stall this place was a RIP off!! We ordered a small dinner and carvery roll. The roll was very small with little meat. The dinner was not the best. The total cost was £ 15.98 with 1 small coffee. The food was warm. Would not recommend. Overpriced!!

Had a small all day breakfast - doorstop crusts with melted butter for toast - too big to put in your mouth - has brown inedible as was like a brick - bacon was also brick like - nearly broke a tooth and egg tasted of old oil - never again!

Appalling value for money. For just under a fiver you get a very small bowl of almost inedible cawl. My soup bowls are not big but once I warmed the cawl and put it into the bowl it only came one third of the way up the bowl. Not enough to feed a toddler! The lamb (about a soup spoon full) was as tough as old boots and totally inedible. We had to spit it out! The soup was served with a cheap bread roll. We had been thinking of buying the Sunday lunch there, so glad we didn’t. Will we return? Absolutely never !

I have honestly never ever been served food so overcooked I must say that the small amount of Turkey I had was delicious but everything else was appalling I couldn,t even cut through the parsnip I had no stuffing ,cauliflower cheese or yorkshire even though i was asked if i would like it. I did go up to the counter to say and was brought a small amount of micro waved cauliflower cheese and a Yorkshire pudding also been shoved in the microwave...so why didn't I complain ???well I did tell the young waitress and she just said nothing ...it was obvious I had not eaten anything as the plate was full ....never ever eat or not eat there again

I am a regular customer at the lunchbox and I have to say the food is absolutely impeccable, staff are always on hand to help and adapt the seating area to the customers needs I myself am a wheelchair user and always feel facilitated when I visit the cafe, ‘service with a smile’ is definitely one way to describe the staff at the lunchbox, with food that tastes like proper home cooking, I myself really enjoy the cottage pie as it reminds me off how my great gran used to make hers. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks- karan Thomas

I'm a regular visitor to the cafe but both myself and daughter will not be returning again. We visited on Saturday and I quickly observed the regular owner/manager wasn't working. This seemed to give the younger staff a golden ticket to do whatever they wanted. The language, behaviour and food handling skills were absolutely disgusting. There was one member of staff (who wears braces on her teeth) found it OK to sit down next to us and constantly use the F word whilst on the phone. Another was serving food with one hand and chewing sweets with the other, whilst another member of staff was hitting her over the head with a baggutte. When the food eventually arrived it was the wrong order and when asked to change it the girl looked at me as if it was my fault. It's a shame really because my young daughter and I love the market on a Saturday but I'm afraid we'll be going elsewhere from now on. I really do hope the owner reads this and takes note of what happens when she's not there to oversee things. Thanks for the food in past but we won't be returning.

Never again in my life would I return to this place. Over £30 for 3 small meals in SWANSEA MARKET!! It’s laughable. Cold food, the ‘famous’ cooked dinner must be ‘famous’ for being so small and tasteless. Avoid at all costs, save your money and go elsewhere. Waste of time and money and the man behind counter was so rude also. Appalling service staff didn’t have a clue what they were doing had to repeatedly keep telling them that they forgot stuff. And to finish it off 2 sprouts on a large dinner. Haha I wouldn’t bother.

I visited Sandy's cafe last month and, being a regular at Swansea Market as I have been for many years, I decided to have a change from my usual breakfast in Janet's cafe (which by the way is amazing - would recommend to anyone!) and visit Sandy's Lunchbox. Something I heavily regret to this day. After waiting for what seemed like a year for Sandy to actually notice me and two other customers behind me (obviously her phone is much more interesting) I finally got served with a vile attitude and body language. With a hand on her hip, Sandy aggressively demanded I tell her what I wanted. She did not so much as smile at any customers and made me feel quite unwelcome and upset. I then chose what seemed to be the nicest table out of the few shabby ones that were actually clear and not full of dirty mugs and plates. This one only appeared to have several stains on the tablecloth and the dirt on the wall behind was less than that in other places so I count myself lucky for that. When I was served my cold breakfast with soggy eggs and uncooked sausages by a blonde middle aged woman with horrendous tattoos I again felt an unpleasant approach on her behalf - this was highlighted when she returned and literally chucked the cutlery (which was wrapped in cheap kitchen roll and was extremely dirty and damp)onto my table and with a slight grunt before waddling away. I could not so much as eat a forkful of this so-called 'breakfast' and felt extremely unwell for several days afterwards. This is absolutely ridiculous service and I strongly believe this place should be shut down or get a serious improvement on both staff AND hygiene! This is not the woman who appears on TV - this is a overconfident chav who needs to learn how to speak to customers.

I have never seen a manager of any establishment be so rude to a customer or be so ignorant in dealing with people.I had seen this cafe in a TV programme on Swansea Market and thought the owner (Sandy) came across as a really nice, down to earth person - we were to find that this was just an act for the cameras. So I went with my partner for a quick snack while we were shopping in the market. We should have realised something was not quite right when we saw their "signature dish" a Sunday roast with all the trimmings. It looked like a really bad school dinner covered in gravy that was so dark it was almost black - nothing would have enticed me to try it. So we asked Sandy if there were any omelettes on the menu. We got a one word answer "No" and a stare! Helpful? So we ordered a Bacon sandwich and Egg on Toast and two coffees. My partner asked if he could have the eggs scrambled and got another "NO' and was told they only did fried. Ok, so we sat down and waited........... and waited.Someone else brought us our coffee (dreadful) and an old lady near us asked this waiter how long her toast would be. He went back behind the counter and asked Sandy who stormed out of the kitchen and berated the woman shouting at her "I don't think it's unreasonable to wait 10 minutes for toast and anyway there are people before you!". Sandy then turned her back on the customer and started cursing this poor woman out to another customer - her language was disgusting. This was embarrassing, rude and uncalled for. My partner then went up and asked if there were any toilet facilities nearby. "None in the market" she replied and turned her back on him. More, great friendly service?!?Our food was eventually brought to us, by Sandy, who at no stage made eye contact with us or said a single word and she brought us one paper towel napkin between us!As for the food. The egg on toast was in fact egg on warm bread. The bacon sandwich was at best edible but the bread was virtually covered with butter on both sides! The one napkin came in handy for me to wipe the butter off my fingers and it turned out to be enough as my partner could barely touch his meal.I know we should have complained when we were there but we did not want to give Sandy the opportunity to embarrass us further by swearing at another two other dissatisfied customers so we left most of our food and coffee and just walked away . There are enough instances on here about just how rude this woman is and here is one more. The woman is not only a disgrace to herself but also to the other hard working traders in Swansea Market. Who ever is in charge of deciding who gets a pitch in the market should really look at the feedback on here. The rudeness of the owner really needs to be addressed. Clearly I will not be back and I will make certain no one I know eats or drinks here either.

Me and my grandfather visited Sandy's cafe earlier today for a spot of lunch, my grandfather suffers with food allergies so on enquiry to certain dishes and ingredients we were told to either have the food the way it would be served or go somewhere else to eat the manger would not spend 5 minutes of her time speaking to my grandfather to make sure he would be served with the right lunch to fit his needs. The manger spoke in a very rude manner with attitude and disrespect to my grandfather absolutely disgusting would not recommend this cafe to anyone how anyone can treat customers with that level of nastiness is beyond me and even more so it is the paying customers that are keeping the cafe running would not be surprised if the cafe was to loose all custom and it would be the owners to blame very rude vile woman we for one won't ever go there again

I've seen a few good reviews since I made my original review (which wasn't all that positive).I thought I'd give the place another chance - I wish I hadn't bothered! To start off if you queue you can expect them to serve all their regulars around you before they get to taking your order. The food takes a while to arrive.I tried the carvery meal again - it was at the standard of a bad hospital canteen meal. The eating area, (a cramped, dirty aisle between stalls), does little to add to the experience. The tables were similarly dirty. They seem to get a lot of customers monopolising tables during lunchtime but only buying a cup of tea, (a family of about 5 were taking up 3 tables), so it can be difficult to find a dirty table in a cramped, busy dirty asle to eat at.This was definitely my last visit!

Had to try here after seeing a documentary on TV about Swansea indoor market! Just as u would expect eating in a market but that aside the food was well cooked and prepared. The only slight niggle is the chairs are quite low to the tables which makes it slightly uncomfortable positioning to be eating. I understand the owner is trying to cram in as many tables as possible for business purposes but it can be a bit squashed with other folk looking through the market

This is a very busy little market stall / cafe. Lots of people take lunches, (salads / pastas / sandwiches / hot meals, etc.), away from here over lunchtime. They also have some scattered seating but you're pretty much sitting in a busy aisle. They have a range of hot meals, carvery, etc. The food is pretty good value for what you're getting. On a good day the food is absolutely excellent. They have a lot of mediocre days where the food can be disappointing. On a bad day their food can be awful. They seem to have a large 'regular' trade so they must be doing something right. They really need to sort their act out so every day is a good day.

Parked here to walk to Three Cliffs Bay (£4, pay in the shop) and had planned to drive elsewhere for lunch but got back later than expected and decided to eat in the cafe instead. We each had the soup special (spiced chickpea) which was delicious (came with some white baguette slices) and half a toasted sandwich each (they allowed us to combine two from the menu which was great) - took a while to come but was very good and came with some salad leaves/coleslaw and a few crisps. Finished off with a lovely chocolate cannoli.
