We really enjoyed our trips to Sandwich Plus. The food was delicious (5* hygiene rating), the Cappuccino excellent and the service personal, polite and friendly. Add to that the indoor or patio seating by grass and classic brick work and you've a superb place for food, drink and a natter. I will certainly return here next time I'm in the East India, London region. Thank you for the smiley service sir... kindest regards.

Only for food that is made is worth but you pay for every little thing. Hot food (stew etc) I found it tasteless. Big sandwiches tho. Staff looked rushed and not pleasant to each other. More of a quantity then quality service. Drinks etc ffom the fridge overpriced, better go co-op

Always visited the chain coffee places; which are great. But sometimes I actually prefer the solo shops and like to get to know the staff which I find harder in a chain. Anyhow; Sandwich Plus serves great coffee with a smile and great customer service.

I was working in the Harbour Exchange and stumbled upon this place. I liked the fact that it was busy inside. I ordered a panini and was happily impressed by the quality and taste of the food. Nice hustle-bustle place

Went in here for lunch and ordered a pasta dish for take out. Was greeted with a long wait. Tendering payment to the merchant was also a painful experience; the fact I was paying by card was treated with contempt. As I left, I was accused of thievery, despite the fact I had already paid for the sustenance in question. On the whole, more 'Sandwich Minus' than 'Sandwich Plus' - won't be returning.

Excellent food, fresh and quick. Food normally comes with banter with the guys behind the counter. Really good full English.

We stopped by for a quick sandwich, the service was very fast and gentle and the food was very good and not expensive at all.

Stumbled on this place by chance, very glad we did! Great food, spaghetti meatballs amazing and a huge plate for £6, chicken stir fry £6, was the same. It was constantly busy with people from nearby offices and you can see why, salads, sandwiches, paninis, quiche, hot meals. Fresh cooked food and friendly service will have customers coming back, we did the next day for paninis. Great value for money definitely be back.

Stef was a superhero to our 9 year old who hit his head gawping at the London skyline. Stef grabbed a huge bag of ice and helped our little boy in his hour of need. Frappacinos and coffee great here too.

Im assuming this is the stour cafe 258 Kingsland Road, and if not then thats what I'm talking about! Amazing coffee and the best bacon sarnie Ive ever eaten. Had in back in early December. Sour dough bread, butter, amazing meat and brown sauce - it was just brilliant. The bread was ace too. Great chef!

Sargeant's Mess is a British restaurant just in front of the Tower of London and adjacent to Tower Bridge. Created by celebrity chef Mark Sargeant, the restaurant serves unmemorable food in a fairly bland atmosphere buttressed by one of the most spectacular locations in London. The food concept behind Mess is to offer traditional British fare at a high quality. Frankly, it is just average. The food is the weakpoint of the restaurant. The concept just seems to have fallen away with for instance the only vegetarian dish in the main course even using the American name Mac N Cheese. It is ok but it is just macaroni cheese so there's a clear ceiling to how good it can be. A large part of the menu is burgers. Not exactly traditional British fare. The vegetarian burger was not bad because it had an avocado in it. Otherwise not the kind of a quality a specialist upmarket provider might generate. Dessert options are fairly limited though the Eton Mess is ok. Service was not that great unfortunately. The faux accent was jarring in its articulation. Chips as an accompaniment to a burger were served without question as to whether a condiment could be offered then an over the top response was generated to a question asking whether such a thing could be provided. Price is high considering the fare. The location does demand a price like that but the food does not. Sargeant just has failed to generate interesting eating. One real shame for a December lunch was that it turned out the Christmas menu was not on offer. It was a real disappointment and made the whole place feel like a let-down. The plus is absolutely the magnificent location. Nestling in the shadow of the Tower and next to Tower Bridge the views are incredible. Looking out at the Thames is beautiful here although the number of window seats is quite small. However, going outside while waiting for food for instance offers a terrific perspective on some of London's finest buildings. Admittedly it is perfectly possible just to walk along the Thames and get the same view. Sargeant's Mess is ultimately a disappointment. The food is flavourless and too simple. Nothing interesting about it at all. No creativity or flair. The price reflects the location and so is too much for the quality of the eating. Service is not great and it was such a shame to find the menus advertised on the website did not exist in reality. The plus is the magnificent location, one of the very best anywhere in London.
