Decent filling, but baguette was stale and staff attitude was the same. Had a seafood salad baguette for £11.50, which was made and then dumped on the counter! No thanks, enjoy or anything. If you don't want to work in the service industry, go and get a job elsewhere. Won't be going back.....

Really disappointed! Been going here for over a decade but unfortunately this occasion will be the last. Had 2 kings feast and a pork and apple in the French sticks, whilst the filling was okay, sadly the bread was at least a day out of date, very dry and chewy and completely ruined the taste. Didn’t go down well at all. Won’t be recommending anymore.

The only reason I’m giving one star on this review is because I cannot give zero! We live locally and have used the Sandwich bar, many many times over the years, in fact, we always tell friends to go there for a sandwich when they want one, however, this will never happen again! we visited on the 25th/7/2023 with her friends to get what we thought would be great sandwiches to take back to the beach, how long we were. One of the sandwiches ordered (nine) was advertised as a large crab sandwich, and loving the local crab, I ordered it along with three tuna sandwiches. When we got back to the beach and actually opened up the sandwiches for astonished and disgusted by the crab sandwich, and I think the photos speak for themselves! The sandwiches from the shop are triple sandwiches and the tuna sandwiches were okay with adequate filling in the fresh bread however the crab sandwich which was on white bread, when opened up on one side had crab paste! No, where was this advertised? The part of the sandwich would be a cheap crab paste and the other side of the sandwich had the smallest portion of crab imaginable. It just sat in a ball in the middle of the sandwich it wasn’t even filled! I was so disgusted with it that I actually just threw it straight in the bin and this sandwich cost £10. This is a total and utter rip-off of customers. Looking to have a tasty sandwich of apparent local court crab! There are other fresh sandwich bars in Looe particularly over West Lou on the Ring Drive where you will get amazing sandwiches, especially crab which are filled full and extremely tasty. You will see by the photos, the difference in size between the sandwiches of the tuna and the crab, and having always told our friends where to go to get a sandwich for over two decades we will never ever recommend this sandwich bar again. It needs to hang its head and shine through ripping off customers and misinforming them at the fact that the sandwich far from being large will have crab paste on one side, and not fresh crab. A loyal customer lost forever.

Awful crab sandwich, stale bread roll and offered salad. We said yes and when I opened my roll it had 1 piece of cucumber and 1 piece of tomato. Avoid this sandwich shop, not worth £10 at all. The chippy on the quay was far better.

The first thing my husband did when we got here was buy a sandwich from here, and our family have been back a few times since!! I just saw I reviewed this place 5 years ago and praised the crab baguette, and particularly the price. We returned this weekend. The crab baguette is still the business. A lot more expensive (was a ridiculously cheap £5.50, now a slightly more painful £8.50) but it remains a massive French stick packed with fresh crab, and delicious. Not sure you can top this on a sunny day in Looe.

We found this sandwich bar tucked down an alley while searching out a crab sandwich for our lunch. What a find, the friendly young man made the triple deck sandwiches in front of us. A layer of brown crab meat, white crab meat and we chose extra lettuce and cucumber on our choice of brown bread. We ate them on the coach travelling back to Essex and they were delicious😋. I would highly recommend.

Not sure why anyone would say the staff are rude? Anyhow we always find the young woman pleasant and friendly and as the place is always busy, there is generally an apology for the queue time. My boys this time loved the cheese burger. Generously filled in a large bap with cheese and fresh salad. £2.60 is a bargain! They also do pots of seafood much cheaper than other places on the harbour.

I have never left a review before but felt like I needed to share the love! We spotted this place during our holiday in Newquay. I’ve eaten at some of the ‘best’ burger joints in the UK and beyond, and this easily bested them. We liked it so much I went back two nights running as I didn’t want to only have it the once before we had to leave! I had the Herd and the Classic Cheese, both with an extra patty. Both were fantastic, with great quality meat and toppings, big flavours, and nothing too greasy either. Dicing the gherkin is an inspired move! Fantastic bun, works so well and adds its own edge to the burger. The burgers hold their structure really well too - call me fussy but it just adds that bit of extra quality. Can you tell I enjoyed it!? The fries were brilliant too. Soft and fluffy, perfectly-cooked, hot and fresh. Quite heavily seasoned which worked for me but a bit on the salty side so you might want to ask for less seasoning depending on your tastes. If you like burgers and you are in the area definitely give Herd a visit!
