Went with family for half a day out, was supposed to get some fish n chips on the beach, I'm not even sure on the menu of this place but as soon as I saw CARD ONLY that was it for me. What's wrong with cash? Or did you get offered money to go card only from a certain card company. £10k wasn't it, alledgely. Anyway, regardless, I'm advising to use establishments that accept GBP in the form of coins and notes. People dont forget!!

Visited for a coffee and cake. OMG. 2 children and a man. Man was OK. Girls useless. I went to order and a young girl was propped up in the corner. I spoke and she wasn't going to. 2 coffees. Capuchinos. And do have any others. Without moving she mentioned 3 others but wasn't going to show me. I ordered 2 chocolate chip coisants. The man put them in a bag. No plates. The girl took the card payment. She woke slowly from her deep sleep. Coffees get picked up at the other window. I paid almost ,£12. Anyway the other girl made the coffee in paper cups. No hello. No thank you. But she was awake. Cake was OK. Nothing special. But the service is dreadful. No attempt to clean the tables. We ate and drank and went for a walk leaving the girls there slumber. We won't go again. I recommend people go elsewhere

Before we made a purchase we asked if we could sit inside with our dog, as it was warm and sunny outside with no shade. The staff member at the counter checked, and said yes that was fine. 15 minutes later a very rude man, the manager I think, came over and started shouting at us that we couldn't have a dog inside (our small dog was lying quietly under the table). Even after I explained we had asked beforehand he continued to shout, be very aggressive, and not listen. A disgusting way to treat customers, and he seemed to have same nasty attitude to his staff as well.

We like sandbanks beach and have had tea and cake here. Today (16th sept) we tried lunch. A big mistake. Apparently, covid has reduced the available menu choices (??). As long as you want 1 of 3 choices of panini fillings, fish finger or sausage baguettes, with chips or a few other bread options, you are fine. On entry, the guy in charge barked that orders were 45 minutes.. We selected 2 cheese and ham paninis. But, no tea as they had no milk. Minutes away from a tesco too.. so a soft drink. Food actually took 20 minutes. Paninis barely tepid and certainly reheated, not cooked fresh as my wife took only a few minutes to reach the serving area and return to the table after we were alerted by the buzzer we were given. My wife's comment when we took the tray back to the serving area that it was very poor met with a blank face and then a turn away that showed complete ignorance. Just stick to tea and cake, providing they have milk. The even more annoying thing was that the beach cafe next door was shut, so they had 100% of the available trade and mucked it up. Oh well.

Just visited. The queueing is now confusing. The usual queue route has been changed but doesn't work as people come in both ways and end up in a disorganised mess. Comfy seats the used to be there have been changed around. Coffee served in takeaway cups when we were sitting in. Not impressed.

Firstly, this is not the cleanest of places, we only popped in for a coffee and sadly we will not be returning. Staff are very rude and not very welcoming, all we wanted was 2 Lattes, we were then told there was no hot milk ?? Lots of people in the queue in front of us and behind we’re simply turning away as they didn’t have anything in stock, no bacon, no bread, only thing they seemed to be serving was burgers. The Lattes we received were very small and served in disposable paper cups, with soya milk. even though we were sitting inside. The toilets were not clean at all. I would give this place a miss - such a shame as it’s in a prime location.

It is 3.00pm on a Sunny afternoon in Sandbanks-everything is closed-no takeaways, so we went to the Cafe, they do home made Scones, the downside is they do not do BUTTER, you are given a substitute spread, I said 'no thanks' We then ordered 2 coffees, a vacant looking assistant then said 'we have no hot milk' What has happened, has the world stopped because it is September 5th, kids gone back to school so they can't rake in a fortune so they close everything and stock nothing!!!! what are you for????? not worth catering for lesser numbers??? They have the the best location on the South Coast, yet provide NOTHING please give this place a MISS..,.useless Bad enough they don't do breakfast anymore, but this is ridiculous, hope the new owners read this and DO BETTER, than cannot be hard!!!

All the beach kiosks were closed for some reason ( during peak summer season) so we had only one option for buying food on the beach which was here . The queue was massive and they had run out of a lot . The wait for the food was very long . The food itself was awful. We had a takeaway fish finger wrap which looked like a toddler had made it. It was thrown together so it all fell apart when picked up. For over £20 for 2 wraps and 1 drink I felt completely ripped off. It was dry and flavourless with massive chucks of onions and iceberg lettuce and had items missing. I feel like this place is abusing their position of privilege being on such an amazing location . Such a shame . Will bring a picnic next time .

We visited as a family of 10 for breakfast. Most of us opted for either the bacon bap or the sausage baguette. The bap was ok but the small amount of bacon inside was overcooked, dry and tasteless. The baguettes were also dry and hard, and the sausages must have been the cheapest they could source. With a hot drink, each breakfast was over £10 per head which could not be justified. We all wished that we had gone elsewhere!

The place is shabby and the staff rude! No coffee available due to a electrical fault but able to offer tea. We ordered Bacon rolls as no other hot food being offered at that time. The bacon was luke warn and not woth the £5.95 paid. Whilst we sat with our tea all I can say is I wish I hadn't eaten my bacon roll as the 'chef' came wondering out absolutely filthy what should be whites, filthy black trousers and hair just hanging around her face! On closer inspection the place is grubby and could do with a good clean and overhaul! Avoid.

Having queued for 15 minutes to order the food, we then had a 30 minute wait to receive our two fish and chip meals for take away. The fish was thin and the batter was chewy, not crispy as it had obviously been reheated. Couple that with the fact there were only about 20 chips and it made the meal incredibly poor value at £11.75 each. Without doubt, the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. Dreadful. Although the cafe advertises a 5:00pm finish (very strange time for a beach cafe to finish in the summer), they ACTUALLY finished taking orders at 4:30, so many people who had queued for ages were not able to order. Not very good.

We called in on a cold and windy Sunday afternoon, it was fairly busy inside the cafe, but we sat outside on the terrace which does have a glass wall to protect from the wind. There is plenty of outside seating on the terrace with great views of the beach and nearby Purbeck hills. So in terms of location this place is hard to beat. But the hot drinks were nothing outstanding and the cakes pretty underwhelming. Staff were friendly enough, but overall feels a bit like a greasy spoon inside. A shame really as this place could have a lot more going for it if they tried a bit harder.

What a lot of nonsense! Sandbanks.....a lovely beach and a lovely view but.....There is a Sandbanks Beach Cafe that looks nice as well but....they are measuring your temperature by the entrance, taking your name and mobile number, not dealing with cash and the price of a small piece of cake costs you £3.25! The latte was cold and too milky, no coffee taste at all. The cappuccino was OK but both of them were over priced(£2.95 each). Also, the girl asked me that do I want a receipt and yes, I did, and she passed me... just a piece of paper of my card payment, NOT a receipt! Will not go there before all this nonsense will end!

What a shame. One our favourite haunts. Standards seem to have slipped a bit. Not the staffs fault either. No toilets open which apparently the council have advised them to do which is odd as every other cafe, restaurant and pub in the area are managing fine. They are still advertising breakfast so after another tough week at work we decided to go for breakfast as a treat only to be told they only do bacon rolls now, at £5.95. Ok as its a treat we go ahead begrudgingly with that. Rolls were dry as no butter in them and no offer of any either. Now it’s a small thing and I guess not everyone likes butter but at that price I feel we should have the option. Even if there was a sign outside stating “no toilets” and “no breakfast being served “ it would have meant we could have made it to another venue in time for breakfast. Oh well it’s still a nice place for coffee

Sometimes I would like to understand how someone can write such unfortunate and cruel comments, it is very sad to read something like that when every day you work more and more trying only to make each client feel comfortable at home. Not everyone asks for a coffee with a smile, but I understand that one does not always feel good and although sometimes customers do not show that affection (as in the previous comments), in my case, I will continue to smile and help in everything each one of them. You may not have perfect English, you may forget to put sugar in a coffee, or take a little longer to serve a customer because you are very busy, but I prefer a thousand times not to be perfect and have a lot more education and empathy.Luckily, most clients think like me.

We went around the back only to find 2 awful tables in the shade and overlooking the public car park!I confirmed that this was the dog walkers area and another waitress confirmed it was. I suggested she tell the manager that he must lose revenue due to relegating dog walkers to that area. She shrugged and replied that’s how it’s always been.In these struggling times where cafes and restaurants are relying on treasury funding to stay afloat, I suggest this cafe thinks outside the box. Beachside cafes on the continent give far better service. Time to wake up me thinks.

Temperature checks on entry to the restaurant however the man on the door either didn’t speak English very well or had poor customer service skills. Ordered fish and chips from the counter staff who seemed overworked and disinterested. No warning was given of delays but after about 10 minutes and seeing others go up to check where their food was we overheard a 40 minute wait! After 30 minutes I went back and asked and was told that we were next. Finally after about 35 minutes it arrived, but without enough cutlery so I had to go to the counter again. The food was good. Nice fish and freshly cooked chips. After the food, we attempted to use the toilets. Told to go in by the same man on the door, then unable to find them we asked someone else inside only to find they’ve been closed so can’t be used! Not in the eat out to help out scheme.A very poor experience all round other than the food which we almost certainly could have got far quicker elsewhere.

We had fish and chips to take away because no dogs allowed inside or.on terrace but that was fine and the food was amazing very good value for money although there was a mistake with our order due to their buzzer system but was soon rectified. Would highly recommend this place.

Dirty tables floor and windows. No toilets available. Staff very slow and miserable. What a missed opportunity for a great location. Staff serving food scraped up chips that had fallen out of the serving tin and brushed them to the side. I didn’t see whether they were placed back into tin but they sat for a long time on the side.

It is nice to go somewhere there are no dogs allowed. I am not a lover of dogs and this is one of the few places you can go.

Their bacon sandwiches, at a table with a view of the beach, are just awesome. Stopped whilst walking the length of the beach and managed coffee when we got back. VERY highly recommended

Sandbanks beach cafe should have everything going for it. A fantastic beachside location, smart modern building, large adjacent car park etc.... Unfortunately, on the two occasions we visited, we were totally unimpressed, especially given the obvious poor hygiene standards.Cold food such as cakes were left haphazardly strewn around the various counters. Most had no covering whatsoever. Only two sponge cakes were in cloches. On one occasion, the hot drink preparation area was in a disgusting mess - we felt like walking out. On our second visit, we had coffee and a cake (from the cloche!). The cafe was quiet with very little hot food in evidence. The cake was rather dry and the coffee tasteless apart from the chocolate topping which we didn't really want. We can't really understand this as other cafes serving 'Pelican Rouge' have really nice (and cheaper!) coffee.Whilst eating, we had a chance to observe the cafe's hygiene procedures. The staff member clearing the tables just brushed the scraps onto the floor with his hands and walked away, wiping his hands on his (black) 'uniform'. The tables were reset without being cleaned despite a bottle of sanitiser being clearly visible behind the counter. We expected that the mess on the floor would be cleaned up but it wasn't, leaving a sticky mess of ice-cream, chips, crumbs etc. The cafe wasn't busy but staff were standing around doing nothing rather than paying attention to the fundamentals. We do have to say that the presentation of the staff was really quite poor. We also found the cafe rather over-priced compared with others in the area.

After a walk on the beach with our two dogs we called in here for a snack and a hot drink. Although there is plenty of outdoor seating on the balcony dogs are not allowed there so we were limited to a choice of a few dirty tables round the side. Managed to find one clean table but had to move chairs so we could sit down. The food was excellent as was the service but this time of year with more dog walkers than non dog walkers on the beach I think more of an effort should be made. While we were there at least two groups of dog owners looked and moved on. Next time will go to Boscombe, Southbourne or Friars Cliff beaches where our four legged friends are made very welcome.

Popped in on the off chance as the weather was too bad to take the ferry over to swanage. Sat by the window overlooking the sea and drank tea and ate delicious cakes. Will definitely go back.

Won’t EVER be back - a lovely walk from Branksome rail-station through the wood and the chine to the beach and all the way to sandbanks. I was looking forward to a nice cup of tea and a cake. All I wanted was hot water and a cake (as they don’t sell the tea I drink) & they refused point blank “it’s not our policy to give out boiling hot water” even though I was buying a piece of cake too. I think what they actually meant was you need to spend £2.50 more a out fruit teas which I didn’t like or want. Unbelievable ☹️

Two of us went in for coffee, we also had some of their homemade cake, everything was spot on. They have a large selection of cakes. The staff were polite and helpful, we thought it had a nice relaxed atmosphere, although we were they on a wet December afternoon when they weren’t busy.

Awful customer service. Ask for a cup of hot water for my guest who has a stomach condition and Harry ( the manager) refuses as he has been instructed not to provide hot water! Cold water is ok but not hot!! Needs to be reviewed by the owners ( the local authority??). Not serving the community.

Following a walk along the beach this was a very welcome escape from the cold wind. The fish and chips for £18 for two was really excellent as was the service.

Good selection of food and drinks with plenty of seating inside and out. Friendly efficient staff who always seem happy in their work. Considering the price of property in the area their charges aren’t excessive for this location.

Called in following a bit of a drizzly walk along the lovely Sandbanks beach. Location is great and the cafe offers views out over the sea and over the harbour at the same time and in this case, a nice bit of shelter.

Disappointed with the coffee today. It seemed tasteless? What are they doing? Not seeing much attention to hygiene in the process.

One of my favourite beaches in the country and this little spot is perfect for a quick drink or a bite to eat while looking out across the sandy beach and the clear waters. Will definitely be back soon!

We were visiting sandbanks-had never been before. We tried to get into a cafe by the yacht club, but it was full (we soon discovered why!!). We then went over to the beach side and went into this cafe. I suffer with epilepsy and one of their lights was flashing so much I was concerned I was going to have a seizure-I got very upset and went outside-my partner continued to order 3 sandwiches. Over priced and greasy. He mentioned the light, he got totally ignored. Very very poor

Called here for a meal with my gluten intolerant partner, who had trouble ordering as the choices were limited. ( apparently they make the fish batter on the premises and decide to include gluten. The beef burgers are from a local butcher, who adds gluten to make them cheaper. you just couldn't make this stuff up .! ) We asked for coke but were told that the machine was broken. We were given a buzzer to alert us when the food was ready for collection but it did not work and by the time the waiter told us, the food was luke warm. We asked for glasses for bottles of drink and were given two filthy ones. When we pointed this out to the gormless boy, he had the cheek to say that they were clean, so we asked for plastic cups. He then stood staring at us with his mouth open as we ate our meal. My partner told me that they had the same flourless cake on offer as he had seen there ten years ago, which denotes a distinct lack of choice for gluten intolerant people. The whole place resembles a cheap tacky burger joint. NOT GOOD. !

Pizza Margarita about 11 pounds, Pizza Pepperoni 14 pounds, very very greasy cheese and simple tomato sauce from a can. Everything dripped off the poorly baked pizza bottom. Big disappointment.

Can someone explain to me why a cafe this popular (and therefore profitable) can't find it within themselves to provide customers with a pot of tea and extra water like most of the UK cafes do? Coffee is from a machine and is distinctly average and another mean measure. The mark up on both of these items is eye-watering so why be so tight? Pick the right day (i.e. not the summer holidays when it turns into beach hell) this is a lovely spot with the outside area overlooking the sea, delicious cheese and fruit scones and plenty of good food cooked on the premises. This in turn makes it all the more infuriating to have to endure rationed hot drinks at silly prices...

I've been a regular customer to hortons over the years, but today's service was so bad I won't be using them again. I get a 45 minute lunch break.. 15 minutes of that was spent waiting to order because they had a family of 5 place an order before me and clearly couldn't cope with a group order. After finally ordering, 5 minutes goes by before I'm told they can't do my food so I said no problem I'll just have the milkshake then that I had ordered... another 15 minutes goes by and I still don't have my milkshake. At this point I have 10minutes left of my lunch break, so I proceeded to walk out and and quickly ordered some food from premier bites opposite. I never did get my milkshake from hortons or able to get a refund as no one was attending the till even after I had ordered and collected a hot panini from Premier bites... Hortons has gone down hill ever since the kids took over. On the other hand I can recommend premier bites opposite. Lots of love the RJ lift engineer.
