We had a snack lunch and then, after our walk, a savoury tea. Service was excellent and the food tasty and well presented, the tea especially appreciated after our hike. Back in the car park, my wife bought an ice cream from the Tea Rooms' kiosk and then left her walking poles leaning against the wall (!) when we drove off. We discovered this when we got home and phoned the Tea Rooms. Without hesitating, David offered to go and see if the poles were still there - which they were - and then have them ready when we were able to return to pick them up during the following week. Exceptional service from a kind and thoughtful proprietor. Many, many thanks for your kindness.

Stopped here after a walk and glad we did. We both had cheese and onion toasties which were really delicious and were impressed that we were asked how we like our tea. A simple thing but we both hate weak, milky tea in small cups. This was the opposite and perfect. Well priced , good food and decent service , we’re local and will be back.

This is a nice little café in Sand Bay. They only have snacks on the menu (sandwiches & jacket potatoes, etc), but they're very nice, although a bit on the pricey side. The man who owns the café is ok, but his staff are very young, and pleasant.

What a cracking little cafe . We were staying at the nearby Pontins for a weekend and visited here no less than three times! Friday lunchtime , ham and cheese toasties , excellent , well loaded . Saturday lunchtime , salads , lovely ham and cheese , all beautifully presented and despite being busy on a rare sunny day , service was really quick . And later on that same day , popped back for a milkshake . All very good , tasty stuff . And a word for the staff , the very friendly boss has some very friendly , helpful , and polite young lads working hard . Thank you very much , we will remember this next time we are in the area .

Popped in here today and it was such a refreshing change for someone to serve me with a very happy disposition. The owner was polite, courteous and extremely friendly. He went to great lengths to help me get what I wanted. Anyone that rates this place lower than a 5 star needs to seriously look at themselves not the owner. If everyone conducted their business like they did it would make going out so much more pleasurable.

These tea rooms are a little gem, the owners Matt and Dave are fabulous blokes and can’t do enough for you. As for the food, well, the toasties that they do can’t be bettered anywhere and it’s the same with all the other items on their menu. If you are ever in the vicinity, pay them a visit, you definitely won’t be disappointed.

A nice location situated on the seafront. The premises only had a few tables outside when there was space for more. Just had coffee and cake which was good. Decor inside a tad dated. My other criticism was that I heard the man say 'we are short of staff' but that doesn't excuse a grumpy attitude. People will return (and understand) if there are staffing issues but a smile and a positive manner goes a long way. Would I return-probably

We visited the tea rooms on the 2nd day of our holiday ( myself, husband, parents and 3 dogs) and we sat outside as I would expect to do with our dogs. I ordered a jacket potato which was delicious my husband had the fish pie which he said was the best he’s ever tasted, and my parents had toasties which they really enjoyed. With the first visit being a success I decided to go there a few days after to get some toasties for lunch and it was advertised that i5 was open from 11am so I got there a 11.10 and the doors were opsonise I went to the counter and was greeted by the young waiter to be told were not open yet. Then another man I presume 1 of the owners after telling him my order said he make it for me. Shortly after while I stood waiting another man rushed past me with a face like thunder, started food prep. He snapped at the young waiter for making a mess on the counter with grated cheese and then went and put a chain across the entrance. Shortly after he shouted at some people trying to take the chain off saying we’re not open yet clearly that’s why the chain is across then muttered about people being stupid. This made me feel very very uncomfortable. I have still rated you 4 stars as the food was excellent and I don’t disagree with your policies but your customer should be made to feel welcome.

We visited Sand Bay as we have 2 dogs and the beach allows them all year round. Read all about the Sand Bay Tea rooms as they were dog friendly too and was really looking forward to having some food and getting the dogs “the doggie cream tea”. My husband has a lactose intolerance so cannot have any dairy products and as they have a sign on the wall that says please let’s us know when ordering food If you have any allergies, I did, I asked the what was available, the young lad who was serving said all their sauces and gravy had milk products so they were no good, he then turned around and asked the gentleman in the kitchen ( who I took to be the owner) what was milk free only to get the reply “ a tomato”. I didn’t think this was in any way helpful and actually felt like he was taking the Micky!! My husband and I left without ordering any food! Nearly all the food places we visit are extremely helpful but it was like this place didn’t care or want to know. So if you have any allergies or intolerances don’t visit this place!!

A little patience can be needed sometimes when busy but if you're in that much of a hurry I suggest McDonalds. There are a lot of regular customers, us included, who just enjoy the atmosphere and setting. Also, if you can, spare a thought for the good work they are doing to help a local dog charity and donate a tin of food or treats, it will be very much appreciated.

We chose this place, as when we used to live in the UK it was our most favourite place to stop, whilst on our regular dog walks with our beloved Husky. Indeed the owners, Matt and Dave welcome a lot of four legged friends to the tea room, as was shown today by the large number in the garden. We were lucky enough to get a table outside today with our 2 grandsons as it was heaving and only just gone 12. It is, however, the quality and choice of food on offer which draws people from all over the country to this little jewel in The Sand Bay Crown. For years we have chosen one of the delicious home made soups and a Toasty which we share between the 2 of us given the generous portions and this is what we did today having missed the deliousness of it all during our time abroad. Our grandsons each had an ice cream sundae which again were beautifully presented and soon disappeared!Time and time again Matt, Dave and their staff do not compromise on food quality or their excellent customer service skills. It is such a pleasant place to spend at hour or so, with or without a pooch and is instantly recognisable if you are walking on the beach by the 2 red flags flying by. Please tho do not mistake the tea room for the kiosk by the toilet block in the bus terminus here. This place seems to have sprung up in our absence and even on the way home we were asking ourselves why anybody would choose to sit next to some toilets to have a cuppa than going a little bit further down the road to the most charming hostelry that the area has to offer.Warm wishes and Kind RegardsFrom the 2 Kosnians!

Visited Sand Bay Tea Room on Tuesday afternoon with a friend. Although we hadn’t visited for quite a while we were greeted once again like long lost family. The warm, home made scones were as delicious as I remember and were washed down with lovely decaf coffee for me and a pot of decaf tea for my friend. We won’t leave it so long before we visit again. ☕️Have to also say that the tea room beats the ‘cafe’ in the toilet block (yes really!) a few yards up the rd in the car park! Im asking myself why anyone would visit a food outlet in a toilet block!?

Had a one year olds gathering here they were very accommodating and friendly. They offer a wide range of reasonably priced local ciders .

Excellent home made pub grub. I had the special of faggots and mash and my partner had the veggie burger. He’s usually fussy as he loves the fake meat ones the best, however he really loved this veggie burger as the veggies were lovely and it had a great crunch to it. The chips were amazing too. We’ll definitely be back!

We pop in to The old inn for lunch , having not been for quite some time, I must say we had such a warm and friendly welcome , the staff were very helpful and enthusiastic the food was homemade not some mass produced pre-frozen stuff . We both had the veggie curry and it was wonderful just the right amount too , it was a cold afternoon and to sit by the fire and eat the curry was just what we needed we will be back soon promise thank you for a lovely lunch.

We stopped in here for some breakfast, nobody else in there and waited absolutely ages for our breakfast. Such a shame as it was lush, but no idea why it took so long and can't afford to be out of work for as long as that took. Should just be a grab and go place. Would try again if quicker service
