Great place, for authentic Italian food. The staff were great, and the owners are the perfect hosts. Would highly recommend this place, well worth a visit. Food is excellent, you can tell they really care about what they do. Great atmosphere.especially garlic prawn & seafood pasta and carbonara, fantastic Wines, excellent dessert & coffee. Very reasonably priced.

Genuinely book to eat here if you are in Windermere or close by. My wife and I where spending a special weekend in the Lakes and stayed in Windermere and I wanted to eat away from the hotel at least one night, and read and re read TripAdvisor several times, before committing to calling and booking San Pietro for Friday evening. It was amazing, the moment we walked in we were welcomed by Yiu and her team, shown to a lovely table. The restaurant isn't large, but you also do not feel as if you are sitting on top of each other, which I love. We enjoyed Garlic Prawns, Calamari, to start, my wife absolutely devoured her Pina Colada, I ordered a sumptuous bottle of Valpolicella from their own wine collection, which was stunning. A lovely touch from the Chef to have two pieces of bread with the prawns to enjoy the sauce. For mains, we had Chicken and also Fillet Steak, Oh my word, just perfection from the cut to the tenderness, to the flavour to the subtle Blue Cheese sauce, I could have eaten it again and again the flavour left you wanting more. The vegetables where cooked to our liking, and surprisingly the Fries, which I wouldn't normally choose, felt like I was eating them in France , piping hot, salty, crunchy but still soft in the middle, honestly it surprised me. I do not normally eat desserts, but my wife loves home-made Tiramisu, but was also torn on the Cherry and Amaretto Bakewell with Pistachio Ice Cream, I do enjoy Pistachio so offered to order the Bakewell as we were away for a special occasion. The desserts where off the chart!! the lightness of where befitting of a high-class pastry chef but the flavour was in abundance as well, perhaps slightly too much cocoa powder on the tiramisu, but the Bakewell will live long in the memory for the both of us, just stunning. You may read some 1 star reviews on TripAdvisor and I'm not here to deny them air time, but as Yiu was sorting the Bill for us, a lady who was 3 minutes early for a table refused to wait and wished to cause a scene, Yiu explained she was just sorting our bill and our table will be free very soon, but you cannot please everyone, but I will say Yiu handled the situation with aplomb, moved the argument outside and dealt with it. We with other guests where offered an apology which was credit to the team, it was not necessary as with all things in life, things happen outside your control, no stars lost from me, I just wished I lived less than 2 hours away from San Pietro to visit it more often as you will not be disappointed with your evening.

My husband and I ate at San Pietro for the first time last night and it was beautiful. The staff are friendly and attentive. The restaurant is cosy and intimate. The food is beautiful! For starters we had the garlic prawns and arancini, mains we had fillet steak and carbonara, dessert we shared a tiramisu. We had cocktails (highly recommend the Bramble-ish for anyone who loves a Bramble), beer, an espresso, and a dessert wine- all wonderful! The price is so reasonable and we will definitely eat here again when we return to Windermere😊

We had a table booked for 17/4/2024 as we were up in Windermere for our mini-moon and also my new wife Nicola's birthday. We really liked the look and feel of the place as soon as we walked in. The staff were really nice, we never got the name of the lad who who looked after us but he did a great job. The food was outstanding, for starters we had garlic prawns and Parmesan balls, both were absolutely delicious. Main courses were 2 x fillet steaks, cooked perfect. Finally desert was limoncello cheesecake. San Pietro is definitely one of the best Itlaian restaurants we ever been to, we'll definitely call again next time we're in Windermere.

Pleasant ambience and rather good food. A bit over-priced in my humble opinion... I was a bit annoyed at the many signs throughout the restaurant that felt a bit patronising.

Absolutely amazing! Should be a Michelin star restaurant. Food amazing and cosy atmosphere. Food was eqistic just astonishing, very tasteful and well presented. Quality establishment. The staff were very nice and friendly. You have to book a place way in advance as it is always booked due to popularity. It is somewhat expensive but so worth it. Good value for money. we had an amazing time.

We had booked a table for 4 at San Pietro tonight for 6.30pm. As we walked in they had given our table to some regulars. They asked us to wait outside in the cold with two children. I asked how long, and was told it would be half an hour. We said we would come back if our table would be ready. When we came back they looked surprised and tried to make a makeshift table for 4 right by the front door in front of the bar. This table was clearly not suitable with the main door opening right upon our ‘makeshift’ set up. When I asked what had happened to our table, the waiter mumbled something inaudible. I would have had more respect for the staff, if they had just apologised from the start and explained that they had given our table away to some regular diners, meaning we could have fed our children earlier at a more considerate establishment. At no time did any staff apologise to us, for giving our table away. Avoid this place at all cost. We did go to Tapios Tapas the first night in Windermere and the food was great and so was the service and very reasonably priced. We went to Hooked Seafood on the second night and the food was amazing. The soft shell crab starter and sea bass main with a nice bottle of Picpoul de Pinet were superb. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. You should go to either of them before San Pietro.

Absolutely love it here. Booked for 2 nights- made the bookings 3 weeks before we were visiting Windermere to be sure we got them. Both nights were amazing. The welcome and service is outstanding.This is easily the best restaurant in the area, and prices reasonable too. The service was professional and well rounded. You rarely find an Italian restaurant that hit the spot so well for the price paid. A proper gem in Windermere. Thank you for the lovely times we had there. Will most definitely be back next time we are in the area.

We had dinner at San Pietro restaurant yesterday evening and had a wonderful experience. Everything from the starters through to the deserts tasted amazing.Food was absolutely amazing. Went for a special birthday meal and it did not disappoint. Both me and my girlfriend were thrilled with the meal. The food was put together in a way where the flavours complimented each other perfectly. Fully recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fine dinning at its best. The service was polite and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. While the food wasn't cheap but worth every penny.

Cannot recommend this place enough! We booked a table for our one year anniversary whilst in Windermere and it’s one of the best food we have eaten! It was utterly delicious - especially seabass fillet and the Cumbrian beef. We cannot wait to book this place again the next time we’re in the lakes. It’s dog friendly too, which is such a bonus.

What a wonderful meal, everything from the wonderful crispy calamari to the rigatoni with blue cheese and walnuts in a wonderful creamy sauce. The tiramisu was the best I have ever tasted in any Italian restaurant. Staff were amazing, cannot recommend this place enough.

We arrived at 7:25 pm for a dinner which had been booked months in advance for 7:30pm. It was a special occasion for my husbands 40th birthday. We were told to wait outside until it was 7:30 for our dinner slot. I had given them a birthday cake for my husband for the end of the meal! We waited and another couple arrived. They were asked to wait outside too. Soon after the couple who arrived after us were seen to their table. By this time it was 7:45pm and we had been told that they were just waiting for the other people to pay. They brought us a glass of WATER for our inconvenience! I asked for our cake back and we left. My husband left a review on google stating how disgusting he thought their service was and the reply he got was….. you arrived well before your table time! 5 minutes early is not unreasonable! Service absolutely disgusting!

Delicious Italian food - best I’ve had in a while if not ever! Compliments to the kitchen team - some real talent there! We won’t forget our dishes (lasagna and duck main meals, prawn and lamb starters) for a long while! Thank you so much!

Oh lord, amazing amazing amazing. The best restaurant in Windermere. Our family enjoy dinner here so much and wait to come back again (soon) four of us ordered different dish and we shared starters and main and dessert. First time coming. We both loved our starters, my partner had Arancini and I had the goats cheese/pear which was incredible and full of flavours, the serving sizes were also very generous. I loved my beef lasagne, it was so crumbly and flavoursome. My partner enjoyed her porcini mushroom dish. Great service, attentive staff, sadly we were too full to try desert!

Firstly, the starters were amazing. We had the arancini and the calamari which were really tasty! We were a little disappointed with the pasta dishes, we had the carbonara and the arrabbiata which we asked for chicken to be added to. The chicken was over cooked and chewy, the pasta sauces were really tasty but the pasta tasted like one we could have made from a packet ourselves. The team were really attentive and polite, but we felt quite rushed to eat our meal, within us finishing the last bite of our starters they were cleared with the mains immediately following. Not sure if this was due to us booking just before the busy Saturday night rush began but it seemed very speedy and not very relaxed.

This was our second time here, with different friends. We enjoyed it so much the first time, they so deserve repeat business. The food was exceptional, staff attentive and ambience wonderful! Definitely will be back. Thank you for creating everything you need for a perfect evening out.

Firstly, let me say that the food we had was excellent Lazagne, Duck and Gnocchi. And the garlic prawn with Chorizo starter was lovely. Which was 10/10. Would highly recommend going. But I was disappointed to see that Pizza had been completely taken off the menu for (Utility reasons) which makes absolutely no sense to me. A Italian Restaurant should always serve Pizza Always regardless! The Calzone I've had in previous years was incredible!! So please bring it back ASAP! The above was my only negative, the rest was spot on. So basically if your happy with not having Pizza then please come here!

We had the pleasure of dining here on the first night of our visit to Windermere (our hotel restaurant not being open on a Sunday evening) As soon as we entered (having booked!! - pretty full!) we were impressed by the warm welcome from the staff and the atmosphere of the place. Several small eating areas make this a pleasant place to be and eat. The menu was good and extensive. My wife had the Ravioli of King Prawns and I chose the Beautiful 6 hour braised -cumberland fell bred brisket. Both meals were excellent. Homemade tiramasu was superb. Service throughout the meal was attentive and prompt. Highly recommend.

This was our third visit to San Pietro, we are from Scotland and make a point of booking every trip now. The waiting staff are so attentive and the food is absolutely delicious. My husband had the specials for starter and main and I had the arancini and carbonara, everything looked and tasted incredible. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, I just wish we lived closer!

We had a three-course dinner last night and it was simply the perfect way to celebrate our engagement! The staff made the experience for us, giving us plenty of time and so attentive. Our drinks stayed topped up, we were able to take our time between courses without being rushed. The lovely lady waitress gave me a white rose to take away with me at the end too. The food was so good, a little rich and indulgent but the prefect treat! We had arancini, then both went for pasta dishes (mushroom ravioli and cabonara), with lemon sorbet and tiramisu to end. The starters and mains were hot and tasted fresh. The atmosphere, the staff and the food was 10/10. Will be returning for years to come to relive special memories!

Lovely place but disappointing food. Had carbonara which so salty, swimming in fat and heavy on the garlic it was inedible. other meal was the sirloin steak - which was incredible - but served with fries that tasted straight out the freezer. Pepper sauce was so watery it just sloshed over all the plate. One half of tomato and one crown of a mushroom. Lovely building and friendly staff but would not return.

Whilst visiting family that live in the Lake District, they recommended this Italian restaurant in Windermere. It was so popular despite trying to book a table for five, we couldn’t. However, they were prepared to seat us outside. Fortunately it was a fine dry evening, and the tables were a little close together, difficult for the staff to serve, but the atmosphere was wonderful. There were potted lemons and herbs all around us, and music softly playing in the background. The whole restaurant was extremely busy, sign of good food. The menu was varied, and I ordered garlic prawn starter, steak for mains, and cherry Bakewell for dessert. All presented well, freshly prepared and the waiting staff very friendly whilst remaining professional. An Italian Zinfandel rose wine was the ultimate accompaniment. All in all this was a wonderful dining experience. Thank you to all the hard working staff there.

Nice place, the decor is lovely, and the staff are lovely. We visited with family and brought them to the restaurant, especially for the delicious calzone. I am highly disappointed that the No. 1 food item in Italy (pizza) is no longer on the menu! We got told that they no longer do these as they wish to be seen as a more established Italian restaurant. I had the carbonara; it was good, but the quality didn't match the price. Bring back the calzone! You also need to update your website and Google as this shows the old menu.

Me and my partner are very indecisive and picky when it comes to booking a restaurant, therefore we ended up not booking anywhere on a Saturday night. We saw this cute little Italian in one of the side streets and thought we would see if they had any space. A gent informed us that there was nothing inside, but we could sit outside. Whilst we were sat outside we had a look at the menu and was quite skeptical because of how limited the menu was. However, because we had no reservation and it was a Saturday night, we thought that we would give it a try. A lovely lady came out and told us that she would be able to get us a table inside and we took it. I would like to point out that me and my boyfriend are so happy we decided to stay and it would have been a MISTAKE if we had left. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful! It’s small, but the layout of the restaurant makes you feel like you have so much space between tables. We had the calamari and the prawn starter, which were excellent. The portions for each starter are very good and both were very tasty. My boyfriend had the lasagne, which he said was very good. I decided on the duck after reading a trip advisor stating that the meat really does fall off the bone! Let me just say that this was the NICEST meal I have ever had! The duck was beautifully cooked, the cabbage was sweet and lovely, and the purée/mash was to die for! I would drive 2 hours just to have that meal again! The staff were also excellent and very attentive. Thank you so much for making our night!
