San Carlo in Manchester

Absolutely above and beyond service, we came here for breakfast ahead of a early morning flight from Manchester, couldn’t fault the staff and experience one bit , did everything they could to make us happy,

The blandest food possible with the given ingredients but nice place to sit with efficient and friendly service.

Fight was cancelled received a voucher for food which stated san carlo included. Rude waiter came to the line and refused everyone saying we have to pay. Shame as we had breakfast the day before and we use the one in the city centre a lot and even the one in London every time we go. We will not be using them again and I will have to cancel our works do at the one in the city centre.

Really good food, nice healthy options too. Our waiter Mustafa was so happy, cheery and super efficient! Such a better experience than past airport breakfasts. Well done 👍😘

Food came cold and not very tasty. £7.50 for a bacon sandwich, crusty cold toast. Nice waiters, not great food. Sat waiting almost 20 minutes before food, when they boast 8 minutes from ordering. Bill was £31 but I’ll be going to pret for a sandwich still. :(

Nice flat white. Really nice attentive service. Eggs benediction OK but I think the prosciutto should be cooked or warm at least. Could add asparagus or spinach to the benedict too. Nice experience though

Never got served for about 15 minutes, then drinks took another 10 minutes absolutely terrible service some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Didn’t even have time to have food as it took so long to be served and get our drinks that we had to not order food. In disbelief at how bad this service actually was this was unbelievable!!! Prices also absolutely scandalous! Blonde member of staff called Lucy was also miserable and the opposite to helpful

Very good and reasonable food for an airport. The smashed avocado came with a delicious ricotta topping. Service was OK, a bit slow at times.

Scrambled eggs, toast & bacon; satisfying. Plate cleared. The extra touch was Firat going to get me mayonnaise from a neighbour restaurant to make sure i had everything i wanted for my airport breakfast.

good food, horrible service. I had to call at least 5 times for somebody to order for me, and when I have a word not understanding on the menu the waiter give me an interesting arrogant look, when English is neither his first language.

Please do not put Eggs Benedict on stale, un-chewable, indigestible sourdough bread, it’s just plain wrong and spoils the plate of food. Traditional soft muffins please.

The breakfast and scrambled eggs were lovely!

We always start our holidays in San Carlo just the perfect way to start your holiday. Can you please recognise Ornelas Ascensao this young lady welcomed us with a huge smile and made us feel really welcome. What fantastic asset to your team. Ornelas is the reason we will be back next year.

Firat was very friendly and a good host

Really professional and pleasant service, atmosphere is calm and clean. Food was lovely and plentiful, really lovely experience.

Had to ask three times to order, the waitress was not very sociable. Eggs florentine was not very nice and the mother in laws bread was really tough

The vegan breakfast was below average. I appreciate that it’s served cold because the veggies are marinated in advance but people don’t want to eat cold breakfast it just seems like a bad choice of meal. Kaloyan at the MAN airport however was amazing!! Super efficient, professional, nothing was too much trouble but at the same time not in my face. You can tell that this man has been in the industry for quite a while. Kudos!!

Sylvia, the waitress was exceptional. Polite, efficient, knowledgable and have excellent service throughout. However, she was badly let down by the bar manager & staff who worked slowly and inefficiently when the restaurant was at its busiest Thursday lunchtime 28.11.24.

Stopped in to grab some food before boarding our flight. Restaurant was very busy yet we were seated immediately. Server was with us within minutes. Very prompt food. We ordered the Eggs Royale, fresh croissant and two teas. The poached eggs were beautifully cooked. The ambiance was delectable with a gorgeous dogwood tree in the center. We highly recommend visiting for a quick bite or for a longer relaxing layover. Finn was our server and was fantastic. Thankyou for a great experience!

What a delightful place in the hustle of Manchester airport T2

Excellent food delivered quickly in a very busy environment

Callum is a cracking waiter and is simply a natural at his job. Makes for a great breakfast

Great selection of food, we visited for breakfast. Friendly efficient staff and good value for money. Our server Kiko was as excellent and made us feel at home. I had a delicious bacon butty which was stuffed with bacon. Great Yorkshire tea to accompany it.

Food is superb, 7 minute turnaround if your in a rush. Had avocado toast with mozzarella, tomato, basil and poached eggs, eggs done to perfection. Waiter was superb, he was none stop and perfect in what he was doing. Next time in T2, i'll be back without hesitation

Great place to eat, food excellent and reasonably priced compared to other outlets. Staff very attentive and quick service. Big shout out for Zeferino, lovely guy.

We visited the resturant at 4am it was very cold there was strong cold air flow blowing out onto our table in front of the kitchen .

Early breakfast, the bread was stale! Shame

Ordered scrambled eggs & Salmon, eggs were cold and had a skin on top, I was asked if I wanted then to burn my mouth? No just warm/ hot would be good! They replaced them, but only slightly warmer and didn't appear to be freshly cooked !

My daughter is a very fussy eater. We ordered a plain cheese pizza and the waiter understood that I was a stressed out Mum travelling with a fussy kid. He was so kind! The pizza came and my daughter said it was the most incredible pizza she had every tasted! Thank you San Carlo for making this part of a stressful day very enjoyable!

Callus was very attentive & had a really nice relaxed vibe

Exceptional service and quick, delicious food. Watched one staff member take such care of a lady with mobility issues. Despite the speed of turnover ( useful in an airport) staff are kind, friendly and attentive.

Absolutely lovely meal and served by Finn who was honest and helpful when we ordered which was kindly appreciated! Only criticism is it was very cold so had to sit with jackets on. Wouldn’t hesitate to return, thank you for starting our holiday off so perfectly:-)

Food was really lovely , the ambience was great sadly this falls insignificance as trying to pay the bill was an absolute disaster . In an airport where speed is of the essence , it took 20 minutes to get the bill paid ….. it was one thing after another , then told to wait as the waitress went over to a mngr. Eventually taken to a side to pay at a waitress point , sadly there was a young lad who had a chip on his shoulder and told us it wasn’t his fault when we were trying to pay , I replied that his customer service was awful to which he pointed out he’d been doing it for 3 years !!!! Wow in all my working career I’ve never spoken to a customer in this manner . This has shattered a lovely experience with the food and ambience setting , this has spoilt the start of our flight / holiday . Sadly I won’t be visiting here again . !!! The original waitress that served us was amazing and this isn’t a slant in her

The food was good, but the service was terrible. It felt like the staff didn’t even know what they were busy with. I waited a long time to place my order and asked at least four staff members if I could order, but each of them brushed me off, saying to wait a moment. The same thing happened when I wanted to pay; I asked to settle the bill, but they just said “please wait” and then walked away to do something else. This is ridiculous! If you don’t have enough staff, then hire more people!

Our server callum did was attentive and provided excellent service.

(Review posted as card on table inviting us to share opinions) The waitress was lovely, but the front of house girl was miserable. Took a while to attend to us, then when she showed us to a table she just threw the menu on a table and walked off. There appeared to be lots of staff hanging around the bar and not doing much, maybe it was shift swap over time. We had no cutlery on our table and the other tables hadn’t been cleared but it wasn’t over busy. The food was nice but is pricey, and the restaurant was freezing. Air con on far too cold for Nov! Sorry but didn’t live up to the San carlo reputation for us this time.

Very happy with this place. Lovely food, good selection - salmon and scrambled eggs or eggs with truffles it's a must! Staff polite and very attentive . Clean little restaurant, good bar and selection of drinks. Definitely will be back . Strongly recommended to any travelers.

Total elitism from the ‘maitre d’ at the front of house. Happy to turn you away (look down their nose) when we asked to sit in a specific seat despite there being barely NO-ONE in there as apparently it’s only for food. Certainly shows bias towards certain types of clientele!

A cut above the other offerings at T2. The arancini and burrata were delicious.

San Carlos service àt the airport is excellent. Mirrors the Service if not exceeds the Manchester restaurant.

Had some lovely food and a few drinks before our flight. This place and the staff never disappoint.

Good and service was good enough but unfortunately the plate my breakfast was served on was covered in so, so many finger prints it appalled me! I didn’t complain on the day as I’d eaten most of the food before I realised

Bland fish Lobster spaghetti without lobster That is all. If you want to just look at the photos on the wall you come to the right place. Otherwise not recommend.

Food very dry, almost inedible. Worst breakfast I’ve ever had. Dry and stale bacon sandwiches. Claggy and dry pancakes. Terrible price to quality. Manager unwilling to apologise for terrible food and unable to accept accountability. Don’t waste your time or money going here.

Thought we’d treat ourselves at the start of our holiday to a civilised breakfast, happy to pay a bit more for quality. However bacon sandwiches were dry/stale and pancakes were claggy. Eating them was less of a pleasure and more of a chewing/swallowing chore. Manager didn’t seem to care. Should have gone to Pret instead for half the price.

I went here before our flight. We didn't book, but had no problem getting a table, the lady even sat us by the window as I'd asked, if it was possible. I had the cooked breakfast which was spot on, the scrambled eggs was amazing.. I'll be definitely coming here again when I go away. Quick friendly service, and great food.. not too expensive either. Loved it!

Came here after paying for the escape lounge and it being too full with hardly any food choices and loved it. Adriana was so friendly and just completely changed our whole experience. Service was so quick and everything was amazing. She’s a credit to the restaurant.

Ordered eggs Benedict on toasted sourdough bread. The cutlery I was given was child-sized and the knife was utterly useless; it would not cut through the toast I asked 3 times for a ‘proper’ knife and was told by 2 different members of staff that they didn’t have any. I was eventually given a small kitchen knife which did the job but by that time my breakfast was completely cold My recommendation would be that the restaurant purchase some cutlery which is suitable for adult sized hands and the food which is served
