We popped into this place, which we have been to many of this chain and it was dreadful…. It really let itself go compared to previous meals in our own town. There were two waiters on, the young lad was kind but was constantly on his phone, so made it look like he didn’t care! I had the chicken Millinase burger which was good but the chips were shocking, the smallest fries I have ever seen, it was like eating air.. My mum ordered a goats cheese salad, and the cheese was bland no flavour and the salad leaves were brown.. even after complaining the guy said ‘oh it’s just the dressing’, the salad leaves are brought in fresh, but I’m sorry everyone knows a brown salad is not at all appealing to eat. The meal spoilt an amazing day watching the tennis. They did take the salad off the bill, but the guys in the kitchen didn’t seem fussed and noisy! Would not recommend, need a change of on floor staff, no atmosphere.. the table next to us left as they didn’t even get a chance to order after 15 mins of waiting for order to be taken.. Wouldn’t recommend 🤦‍♀️

Not the best example of Carluccio's. The place is overdue much TLC and perhaps adequate staffing. This indicates the business has reduced spending in these areas to its own detriment. Cleanliness isn't great as the windows had a considerable build-up of filth/grime/smearing. The toilets/toilet area didn't feel very clean overall. Most air vents etc were dirty and in need of cleaning. Very little deep/detail cleaning on the whole. Lots of grimy/grubby areas 😷😷 The gents toilets were out of order (with no written suggestion of which other toilets to use) so I used the ladies. The soap dispenser bottle was a nightmare to use as the frame it was held in wouldn't allow the pump to be pressed down (what use is this)?! I was able to slightly/awkwardly raise the bottle to be able to press the pump, but then the liquid soap shot over the sink and onto my clothing. Sigh! The whole place just needs some attention to detail. The waiting staff were pleasant/did their best and the food I ordered was great (a tuna steak for £24).

Only one member of front of house staff and he was clearly under a lot of pressure poor guy. Chef had to help out at one point, maybe time to hire more people? Coffee was cold and we paid almost £5 for smoothies which I’m convinced were just Innocent smoothies from the Sainsbury’s downstairs. Same flavour, same colour, same everything - but double the price! The caff round the corner from where I live does them fresh for £3. Food was good tho.

Was there Thursday 8th August. There were about 9 staff in the restaurant at about 4.pm, only 1 spoke to us and said he’d bring a menu over which he never did. Everyone else totally ignored us for over 40 minutes. Not even able to get a drink. Staff kept collecting food from the kitchen for themselves. There is nothing anywhere that says they close for lunch but that’s what they appeared to have done so they should have put the shutters down as no one was serving customers. We’ll never go to a Carluccios anywhere ever again. Appalling.

Food was really filling and more than what I was expecting when I ordered it. The foccacia was really crunchy and buttery the chips were nice and crunchy too and the pasta crisps were just delicious. Picking someone up from the train station so we popped in for a bite while we waited. Despite being empty it still took ages for our food to come, so we assumed it would at least be fresh. The garlic foccacia that was supposed to have mozzarella on it was like a large crouton, rock solid with cheese that was not mozzarella burnt onto it. It tasted of nothing. The spinach and ricotta ravioli, which took ages to come out, was over cooked, clearly not freshly made, and the "sauce" it was in was in fact a film of watery butter. This dish also had no flavour to it. The food was bland, massively overpriced and took ages to come. Absolutely DO NOT waste your time or money in this restaurant. Disgraceful.

Avoid at all costs. Went here with a group of work colleagues this evening after reading the reviews we thought it would be a good restaurant to go to. We ordered starters and mains including bread for the table. We specially asked for the bread to come before the starters so we could nibble. This didn't happen but we tucked into our starters and bread. The waiter was keen to take the starter plates away when only one person had finished and appeared with the main immediately after. This was strange as usually you wait until all starters are finished, cleared and a small break between courses. The waiter then proceeded to come back with everyone's main including those still eating their starters. My risotto still had clumps of stock in my dish and lumps of risotto stuck together in a almost ball. Not very pleasant. I did comment to the waitress that I hadn't eaten my main due to this but she said nothing. Unfortunately there is nothing good to say about the restaurant as service was poor too, no acknowledgement on arrival even though we had booked. The waiter we couldn't tell if he was new or being condescending.

Forget Carluccio's! We visited on a Saturday at 4.30p.m. The server told us that there were no chicken or duck dishes available. He was surprised and irritated when he offered us lasagne or pizza - which my wife cannot eat - and we turned him down and walked out. How can a restaurant run out of main courses at that time on a Saturday! What a shambles.

A depressing affair eating here this evening. Two young waiting staff conducted the proceedings without cracking a smile, not when greeting, showing us to a table, taking orders, delivering food or taking payment. Draft beer wasn’t available, calamari wasn’t available, mustard to have with a steak wasn’t available (message back from the kitchen was “we don’t work with mustard”). We finished our starter and we’re asked if we wanted the dessert menu, “we haven’t had the mains yet”. This is a team (if you can call it that) who are barely going through the motions of service. Oh, the food? It was ok. A bit bland, steak was nearer to well than medium, pollo saltimboca required salt and pepper, potatoes were nice, lots of rocket on the plate. Certainly not good enough to make up for the rest of the experience.

We had a meal here before The Eagles concert and wish we hadn’t. We ordered some focaccia and dips but had to get an extra dip due to the stinginess of the portions and still ran out. The bread itself was ok but a little odd. I had a tuna steak salad but half of my steak seemed to be missing and the what I did have was over-cooked. My wife had a Caesar Salad and was far from impressed and unable to finish it. The chicken was slimey and the pancetta was over-cooked (what little she could find of it). At £56.55 including a drink each we’d have been better off getting a Co-op sandwich at the venue! We used to enjoy a Carluccios but it’s gone downhill so much that we won’t be back.

Went for breakfast today (19/04/24) at 08.15 before we got the train to London. Ordered coffee's with traditional breakfast meal deal. Was then informed that there was no pancetta, so opted for an extra sausage. Food finally arrived, cold plates, eggs burnt underneath, roast tomatoes cold ( as if they had just come out of the fridge), mushrooms cold, the "toast" was a slice of bread that wasn't toasted, dripping in olive oil. My wife has the poached eggs on toast, the eggs were more like hard boiled eggs. Terrible service, ordered an orange juice, apple juice was served. My wife ordered another coffee, 20 mins and it still hadn't arrived, so went to the counter to collect it to go, as we needed to get on the train. She asked for milk and sugar, the server confirmed it had milk and sugar, once on the train she tasted the coffee, it was black with no sugar. Never once did we get asked if everything was ok with the food, the manager and staff were to busy laughing and looking at there phones. This place has definitely gone downhill, we will not be coming again. UPDATE - Carluccios have messaged asking for me to email them, which I have tried to do 3 or 5 times, and each time my message is blocked so I cannot email them........ absolute joke and the poorest customer service I have ever encountered. I came here with a friend for Breakfast yesterday, I ordered poached eggs with toast and no butter, I was served poached eggs with fried bread, I said to the waitress, I asked for toast no butter she replied that's oil not butter and walked away. I tried it, but if you don't like fried bread, you know it's just a mouthful of grease in your mouth, so asked if she could replace the fried bread with toast, (as advertised on the menu). She picked the plate up and took it back, after about 5 minutes I asked a difference waitress to make sure the toast was dry with no butter, and this time toast was brought out, with oil brushed all over it. I said I asked for dry toast no butter and once again this now, obviously annoyed at having to do some work, waitress replied it's not butter its oil, I replied it's not dry and she walked away. I left the full meal and asked for the bill, charged full price and no apology so I paid, left and am leaving this review so if anyone is about to have breakfast here, pop over to the mill instead where I had breakfast this morning with a lovely experience, staff and food, unlike here.

Hadn't been to a Carluccio restaurant for a number of years, and I can't say that I will be going to one again soon. The place was almost empty, which made it all the more surprising that it took so long for someone to come and take our order. I normally have a couple of glasses of wine at lunch, but the prices for a small glass were ridiculous so I stuck to a glass of beer. Ordered a mixed basket of bread to share, along with a main of a so-called crispy chicken burger, with fries. (Not particularly Italian, I know, but there we are). The bread arrived, along with a waitress who announced, cryptically, that "The message didn't arrive in the kitchen, so your mains are ready now - shall I bring them out?" The response was a no, thank you, as they will get cold. Having finished the bread, we then waited for the main courses, which were presumably being re-heated in the kitchen. Average only and served with luke warm shoestring chips - cheapest sort of frozen ones. Also had an ice cream and called for the bill. The service throughout had been slapdash and cursory, and so I didn't leave a tip, which brought forth a curled lip and scowl from the waiter. (Incidentally, the lavatories were out of order - one disabled loo in a place this size is not acceptable).

Save yourself the bother, i try hard to not write bad reviews however ....... thought this would be a nice way to send a friend on her way back home before her train journey, walked in to have both staff members ignore us, before we asked "do we take a seat or do you take us?" ordered brunch, my friend being a vegan asked for the vegan special breakfast to be asked "how do you want your eggs" and then for the food to come out and not actually be what was on the menu (plate of mushrooms, spinach and potatoes), when asking the serving staff why the menu was different to the order, we were told i only write the ticket, do you want me to take it back? food was cold on arrival, and for some reason the coffee's and a cocktail arrived around 10 mins after the food (even though we waited a fair while between ordering and receiving food) only saving grace was when looking to pay, and not being able to grab the attention of the server, the girl who had just come on duty, waved at us and allowed us to pay her at the till.

I've been here a few times before and unfortunately this time I found it shocking how much it had gone downhill. On entry we weren't greeted despite the fact that a staff member (a woman with dark hair, very glamourous - I don't have her name) was at the bar making coffee and could easily have acknowledged us. Service was appalling and at one point we were sitting with finished starters in front of us for a full five minutes before noticing that our mains were sitting on the hotplate ready to come out to us but all three members of staff were behind the bar chatting. We found a bit of overcooked bacon or something in the greek salad (which was on the menu as vegetarian) The one ladies toilet was out of service so I used the men's which wasn't clean and the tap didn't work so I left the toilet with horrible soapy hands. Our server was a very young man who was clearly doing his best but under terrible management and without proper training. Woman with dark hair was once again surly and aloof on our exit. I didn't realise that the fixed price menu wasn't available on a Saturday, but having travelled some distance to meet a friend for lunch, decided to persevere rather than trail around looking for an alternative. Ragu came looking great but with cheese in, so I asked my server and the manager / owner shouted over that it does have cheese as it’s on the menu. I was then handy a dirty menu as the owner was adamant it was me that’s wrong and told me that I should have informed THEM of any allergies (nobody asked me and you should have correct allergen and ingredients on your menu ) I would have ordered again (minus the 🧀) or chosen a different dish but there a clear avoidance of wanting to rectify it. Just managed to grab time before a train to get a much-needed take out flat white coffee - I drink these pretty much every day - and I’m sorely disappointed. Coffee was that poor I actually couldn’t get more than half way through it. After first sip I politely checked with the barista if this was a flat white because it was very milky, and more akin to a latte (yuk), no coffee flavour hit and missing one of the classic signs of a rich brown rim around the velvety top. She said it was, and that this is how Carluccio’s make them. I’m pretty sure any self-respecting Italian brand would disagree. I asked if there had been a double coffee shot. Was told I could have another but be charged for it. At £3.70 for a cup of milk dish water I declined. Carluccio’s, come on, Italians are meant to do it much better than this. Terrible coffee and even worse service attitude.

This was a disappointment from my patronage of Lincoln Carluchio's. I found the small coffee cup with my latte was not much bigger than an espresso cup and being charged £3+ for the privilege. This was at Manchester Picadilly Station. Well, this will be two customers that will no longer visit this establishment

Way over priced for relatively small portions. Don't get pressured to go here just because it's a convenient location, there's much better value to be had nearby

Arrived fairly empty. Ordered and waited. More people arrived and waited. Even more people arrived and still waited. 30 mins later. Left and cancelled order.feeble apology saying it was busy- not when I ordered. No manager on site when i asked to speak with them. Others had missing items and food brought to one table- returned to kitchen and same returned. Btw they arrived after me.

The food is good in general as I tried both breakfast and lunch. The seafood pasta is so fresh and tasty. But the taste of canoli is a bit disappointing.

Buzzing place on a cold dark evening. Lots of pleasant, polite staff. Food was not really as good as the high prices promised. Pasta dishes are very small portions and ice cream scoops are miniscule. A bill of nearly 70 pounds for one pasta, two starters, a side, two pints of Peroni, a coffee and an espresso martini affogato didn't leave us too sore however and we enjoyed our visit.

Ah, breakfast, the most important meal of the day! I recently stumbled upon this charming little restaurant that served the most scrumptious breakfast I've ever had. It was a delightful experience, to say the least. Upon entering, I was greeted by a pleasant ambiance and a warm smile. The staff was attentive and made me feel right at home. Ah yes, our charming little blonde girl from the kitchen, Anna. She was an absolute delight! Her service was simply extraordinary. Attentive, kind, and with a genuine passion for what she does. It's not every day that you find such a gem in the culinary world. Now, let's talk about the food. Oh, the food! It was a breakfast lover's paradise. From fluffy pancakes to perfectly cooked eggs, every dish was a masterpiece. The flavors danced on my taste buds, leaving me craving for more. I must admit, my taste buds were quite impressed. So, if you're in the mood for a delectable breakfast experience served by the wonderful Anna, I highly recommend visiting this charming restaurant. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. But hey, don't just take my word for it. Go ahead and see for yourself. Happy breakfasting, my friends!

Arrived for a quick bite to eat before a train - the outside area wasn’t tidy, the venue seemed a little messy and it didn’t feel like there was enough staff. The bartender didn’t greet us, and we weren’t sure whether to sit ourselves or wait. We were asked to sit on a table awkwardly placed in the middle of the restaurant, next to two large noisy groups. We were moved to a table next to the window where the chairs were covered with salt. The food was ok, the pasta sauce was runny, flavourless and not spicy. I opted to add chicken to my meal, which I wont be doing again - the chicken could have been something warmed up from the Tesco chilled section. The toilets were in disrepair (as was the entrance ceiling above the entrance). Lights were hanging out of the ceiling in the gents and the ladies was out of service. I haven’t been to a Carluccio’s before, and after the experience, I won’t be again.

Today I visited here with my husband. We had olives for starters, thinking they would be a nice tasty starter, when they arrived some were squashed and some were destroyed in chilli flakes. We then ordered the chicken dish as described on the menu....chicken with a white wine creamy sauce covered with a 26 Yr old Parma ham and roast potatoes covered with green Pesto and Spinach. The Parma ham was a rasher, the creamy sauce was like a green soup, no Pesto and the roast potatoes were burnt. The chicken under the rasher was RAW. Completely RAW. It hadnt even touched a pan. The chicken was slimy and disgusting. I got such a fright, We handed it back, the waiter charged us for the glass of wine my husband had asked for. The waiter said he would speak to the chef. We told him we were shocked. We left and I had to run to the bathroom and make myself sick to try and get up the RAW chicken. Utterly disgusting. DO NOT VISIT HERE. DO NOT EAT HERE

DREADFUL. Plate of baby sick. This place needs to rethink. On this day and age, if you serve pasta, it has to be good.Bland pasta supposedly with beef. I counted a only a few tiny bits of meat, virtually no sauce. Waiter had to be asked for parmesan, he clearly had no idea about Italian food.WAYYY too expensive for what we got.

Food was average at best. "Butterfly king prawn" apparently just means prawns with burnt toast. Bruscetta means tomatoes sliced in quarters and placed on plan sliced (not toasted) baguette. Salad had no dressing until asked (they forgot) at which point, was given to put on salad ourselves. Children's cheesy pasta means 13 tubes of penne just about coated in cheese sauce. Only one vegan main dish on the whole menu! Service was inattentive and very slow, which is an issue in a busy train station. One course and we were there 2 hours! Almost 50% of the menu was unavailable at 7pm. Not planning to return any time soon. 😕

Had an awesome veg mushroom soup. Overall most of the staff were lovely - one staff member didn't seem happy at all. Put it down to her having a bad day. Toilets cleaning could certainly have been up'd. Assuming the manager (had the white shirt on) - was very welcoming.
