The parking is appalling considering it has had a very expensive refit, the carpark was only big enough for 10 cars, very claylike underfoot, car mats were filthy after, only accessible through the Tesco garage? When we booked we advised it was for a special wedding anniversary. When we arrived no one was on the front desk to meet & greet. All the time we were there, no acknowledgment of our special day so why ask at the booking stage? A simple “oh I see you’re here for your special anniversary off anyone would have sufficed. Staff seemed miserable apart from the tall, happy man delivering the food from the kitchen. My meal was beautiful but sadly my husband’s was tasteless & bland. Not much atmosphere & a little chilly. Shame, they could have made it a lot more enjoyable by a few words that cost nothing. Shan’t be returning sadly but we wish the restaurant well in the future.

This was meant to be a romantic dinner and to support the local restaurant - we ordered champagne and it took 25 minutes to bring it to us . The food we ordered was minestrone soup (we sent it back ) it was thin and tasteless . The Bruchetta was dry toast and some tomatoes and herbs - very poor . The fish course was so heavily cooked in butter we did not eat it and the pasta ordered was not even hot . What a shame as it’s a spectacular spot with exquisite decor but after £140 spent we went home for some food and drink . I don’t normally write negative reviews but it was truly disappointing and not value for money - service slow and understaffed and food not hot enough or tasty enough .

Me and my boyfriend went to san carlo for my birthday with high expectations. However, we were unfortunately disappointed with our experience here. The staff did not seem very warm or friendly at all, there was a number of times were staff were pointing over too our table and it just felt like we were being watched. There was a lot of staff on the floor but we had to ask for our bill 3 times before we actually got it and even when we were being served everything just felt rushed like they had better places to be. The food was average but not as good as we expected it too be. Apart from that we did really enjoy the drinks.However, I received an orange in my drink as the server said there no passion fruit left which was fine until we ordered the same drinks which took over half an hour to arrive and then the server said he had lied to me and that there was some.Overall, I wouldn’t recommend

We came for a late lunch and drinks to celebrate a birthday on a beautiful sunny day. We sat outside on the terrace, which was lovely but that is where the positives end. It was 40 minutes before our first drink arrived at the table. We ordered a bottle of wine and the first glass was poured before the bottle sat unattended for the remainder of the time. It was another long wait before someone returned to take our order and poor service continued for the afternoon. Empty plates were left on the table for far too long and when the plates were cleared, the pizza stand was left on the table. Still nobody noticed that the wine bottle was empty. We were eventually able to order another bottle of wine but still had to ask twice. Drinks that we hadn't ordered were brought to the table twice. The staff were not particularly warm or friendly. The food was average and no dessert menu was offered. When the bill came, we asked the manager to remove the 12.5% service charge and told him that the service was poor overall. He happily removed the service charge but was completely disinterested in hearing why we were unhappy. It was a great afternoon in the sunshine with the best company, but we will not return here again and would advise others against it too.

Wow…. Worst restaurant service in 10 years… Firstly, such a shame as the food was great. We arrived 10 minutes before our table time and were seated 50 minutes after it, only after complaining twice to the host. (Felt like they gave us someone else’s table in a panic, as it wasn’t where they originally said it would be.) In the meantime. no pint glasses at the bar (seriously… so we were charged 2 x £4.70 for two half pints…! They said they would charge for pints only, and even though we reminded the team of this before brining the bill, they forgot! Service for mains was slow (busy Saturday, so perhaps forgivable on its own.). Dessert, the waiter took the order, forgot it, came back to check, then forgot to take it to the kitchen. When it did come, it wasn’t what we actually ordered! We tried to discuss with the manager and we could only find normal staff. We asked to speak to her and she was trying to keep away from the wider problems across the restaurant, including ours. We asked to speak with her again and she avoided joining us by the kitchen despite asking - she opted for a discussion in front of other customers at the table. After complaining the manager was sadly just defensive (wait for her response below…). It’s a shame really as she could have rescued the whole thing but she is clearly just inexperienced. Far too young and lacking training. Despite circa 50% discount, genuinely one of the worst restaurant experiences on my life. I’d wholly recommend anywhere else but here… In essence, not enough experienced staff or a decent manager to make this place worth the recommendation. Sad times.

We had a fantastic at San Carlo. The meal was absolutely wonderful, and I can’t say enough about how exceptional and welcoming the team was. Everyone from the door staff to the table service made us feel really welcome. There is also a fabulous selection of food and drinks to cater for everyone. It was one of the loveliest dining experiences we’ve had. I can’t recommend it enough and we will be back.

We went for an early evening meal and were seated at a lovely table with a crisp white tablecloth. The lentil and vegetable soup was very good followed by fillet steak and dessert. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was quick and polite. We will return in the near future.

Fabulous night. Great staff. So attentive. I went for the chicken and prawn pasta which was rather disappointing as hardly any chicken or prawns. Other than that we all had the most amazing time. DJ was brilliant too.

The receptionist whom I understand is Greek believes that she ownes the retaaurant was the most sulky artisan that I have ever encountered and as a result of being advised by some individual who purported to be the general manager that if I continued to be rude to his inept staff he would ban me from the establishment I told him where to go and left the restaurant without having anything to eat Not recommended to go to this hostilary

Rita kindly found us a table for 2 at short notice, like within a minute! Had a lovely meal - oysters, bruschetta to die for, pizza and prawns and lobster. Everything was lovely. Waiting start so chilled but helpful. Decor and vibe lovely - DJ playing good songs. Eaten at a lot of places and this one is definitely up there. Looking forward to returning in April.

Over booked their tables so complete carnage at the bar! Took 20 mins to get our first drink. Had to work our way through a 3 deep bar and then struggle to get bar attendees attention as they were so busy. The doorway was blocked as so many people did not have tables ready and the general management of the whole area was shocking. When you pay a deposit for a table you expect it to be ready! Waiting over an hour is unacceptable and obviously brings with it disappointed customers. We found the management exceptionally rude and unhelpful verging on aggressive. We left and fortunately got into a reputable Italian in WILMSLOW albeit last minute with exceptional service. Lesson learned !

Service, food and ambience 10/10. We booked a table for my friends birthday and all the staff made us feel really special. Our waiter Antonio was very knowledgable and recommended the best food and wine. The fillet steak is to die for. Definitely the best restaurant in the village by far would recommend to anyone. A special mention to Zoltan and Csaba too who were so friendly and made the night for us.

Over rated and expensive. We paid over £200 for 4 people. Poor attendance of the waiters- I had to ask 3 times for my glass of wine. I ordered a medium , got a small, charged for medium. We kept asking for ie this and that rather than the waiters prompting. ..... The pizza we had - hmmm, how can you get a pizza wrong in an Italian restaurant??? Oily +++ and vegetables not drained.... One of the desserts- the cup with strawberries etc had possibly cream from one of those ready sprays and min ice cream.. The other food we ordered was very good but the experience we had tinted the day. If you want to run an above average restaurant you have to do it right. We are hardly picky customers and hence decided to continue and to try and enjoy. The service was added - rather than asking if ok as in so many places in UK and EU. I would love to pay service and tip but you have to know what you are paying for.

Went there for my friends birthday- but slow at start, an hour wait for our table which was only made up for by a free foccatia bread however once seated we had the best server Umar- he was personable, polite, and so so lovely he is the best server there!! He met all our needs and continued to check on us through the night and also brought out a cake and sung happy birthday with us for our friend. He was amazing!

I went to this restaurant with my children to celebrate my son's birthday. The decor is breathtaking but that's where the excitement ended. We ordered some cocktails and mine tasted like bitter lemon and the food was mediocre. If you go to an expensive restaurant you expect a decent meal. I always have a dessert whenever I go out for a meal but as soon as we finish our main meal we couldn't get out soon enough. The service wasn't the best either. Probably because it was Friday night and it was very busy but even then you make sure you have enough staff for peak times.

Lovely food and service great. We went on a Tuesday night and atmosphere was lively. My husband and son shared a huge tomahawk steak which they are still talking about, Pleased my younger son too with his favourite pasta dish and garlic bread. Cocktails to celebrate end of A levels for my daughter too.

Frustrating evening at San Carlo hosting important customers. 5 minutes after taking our order the waiter returned to tell us that there were no scallops left......as 3 people on our table had ordered a scallop main course, they had to re-order. Later in the evening, 5 minutes after ordering desserts, the waiter returned to tell us that one of the desserts which 2 people had ordered was not available!!! Unbelievable! The apologies offered were scant and there was no offer of any reduction on the bill, or even a free round of drinks....and the bill came with a £43 service charge automatically added. I didn't want to start complaining as I didn't want to cause any awkwardness in front of my customers. Running out of key menu ingredients early in the evening is just not good enough....and not offering any kind of recompense or gesture to make amends is very poor.

A wonderful experience from the moment I walked through the door. Asked a member of staff, near the car park, where the entrance was, and again, door staff. I have no sense of direction *whoops*. Hostess was lovely and directed me to where my friend was waiting at the bar. After a glass of wine, we were shown to our table and our bottle was bought over. After apologising for taking too long to look at the menu, they mentioned it'd be ok to call someone over when we were ready. I'm aware most places would reserve your table for around 2 hours, so when I asked if they needed the table back, we were told not to worry and could take as long as we liked. Icra (hope name is spelt right) was fantastic. Friendly and told us not to hesitate to ask if we needed anything, even helping move the side table and showing me where the rest room was. Planning my next visit back Thank you!

Waitress was brilliant as we had my young 17 month old with us, very kind and helpful! Food was excellent too especially the Pizza Romano. Would definitely recommend especially if you’ve got children. 5 stars

Dog friendly restaurant . Fabulous food, friendly staff and very dog friendly . We sit in the bar area which is very comfortable, nice chairs and tables. Great menu and the dog can get chicken as well. Dog bowls of water, all brilliant.

thanks to cibo making a rememberable experience for my 17th very good service and they are very quick to help the staff were funny and very kind and the food is so amazing taste so nice and hot when it comes out they also brought me out a birthday sunday and sang happy birthday i highly recommend this place

We went to the Coast this evening for a Sunday roast. You can no longer have just the Sunday roast, you have to have the 2 course menu which is now £26.95. The starter was basically 5 small prawns in a tomato and chilli sauce ( Nduja) with a single toast finger. We then waited for over an hour for our main course, which at best was average to say the least. We will not be going back.
