Object strongly to being charged 12.5% tip. Only went in for a couple of coffees. Really resent this. Will not be going back again with this policy in place.

The service is excellent but the value for money is very poor. Do not get the lasagne it was devoid of meat. Very expensive

We went to the wilmslow restaurant for our anniversary meal, good service, my husband had soup which was very nice served with some nice bread and we had a cheese garlic bread always very nice but we both had lasagna which really wasn’t the best it was just like pasta with cheese and a couple of bits of mince which was hard to find I actually didn’t finish it which isn’t like me, I was lovely forward to having some icecream as it’s always so nice, but they had raised the price to £8 pounds for 3 scoops which is is outrageous, maybe if u were in Monte Carlo but really it’s a joke and we went to get our dessert from Tesco opposite and had it later at home

I booked very last minute online via the website for Cibo Wilmslow for a Monday evening at 6:30pm for three of us. There isn’t really any parking around the restaurant, so this took us some time to find a suitable place. We were seated immediately, the restaurant was quite quiet but I think that’s to be expected on a Monday. We had our drinks order taken, we ordered the olives, garlic bread with mozzarella and calamari to start. The garlic bread base was fantastic, light and easy to eat. The calamari wasn’t great, it looked like it was from a frozen bag found in a supermarket aisle, the olives were fresh and came with bread and oil. For mains, we had two pasta sea food dishes and a pizza. Mine was the prawn in a chilli and garlic sauce, the other was the prawn in a white wine sauce and the pizza was the Roccatta. The pizza wasn’t presented like a traditional pizza as you’d expect, it was rolled into sections like a wrap. Each pasta dish was delicious, presented well and very good portion size. We found service to prompt but we were also left to enjoy our meal and conversation in peace. We would definitely revisit again.

Overall we had a nice first trip to Cibo. The ambience and the food were lovely but it could have done without being served with a side order of superiority complex from some of the staff (rolling your eyes because I asked for a drink without lemon wasn't necessary).

Do not go, the food was very very poor. The ribs were stone cold with a bit of warm sauce, the steak was ok, the chips looked like they came from the chippy, the bolognaise was distinctly average and the rolled pizza, well that was a joke. To be very fair the staff did replace the ribs and pizza promptly and without fuss but if you are out for some good food it isn’t cibo you should be heading for. The restaurant looks great but very much style over substance in this instance. I won’t be returning, there are many many better places to go locally.

I had eggs and mushrooms with smoked salmon and sweet potato fries. Fantastic food, service was great......could not find fault. We don't often visit wilmslow, but we will definitely come back to Cibo.

Why would you have the most unhelpful person answer your telephone? I had a table booked for eight people the woman on the phone refused to even entertain the fact that one of my party had a dietary requirement. I understand a lot of customers are rude which can be draining, but you should really should treat each customer like a brand new one. 👌 Reviewing some of the other reviews, it doesn't seem like customer service is a priority. Food looks great though.

First time visiting Cibo last night and was looking forward to dining there. On arrival we were told to wait in the bar until our table was ready even though we arrived on time. We made our way to the bar area which was busy and it took about 15 minutes to get served a drink and there was no available seating due to how busy the bar area was. The bar was full of dirty glasses at one end and only one bar staff serving at the bar. Eventually got a drink and then we were taken to our table. Ordered calamari’s which wasn’t great and I couldn’t finish it so left most of it and when my main course arrived (Ceaser salad) the lettuce was soggy, drowned in sauce and very salty. Overall quite disappointing.

Decided to try cibo wilmslow as we had such a lovely experience in Hale. Was the complete opposite. Staff were arrogant. Staff were blunt and rude. Service was terrible. Definitely sticking to cibo hale as Staff were wonderful.

Steak was one of the driest I’ve ever eaten. Sent it back, the replacement was even worse. They did nothing to rectify the situation. Next time cook one of your dads boots it will be less chewy

Went thurs night, was good atmosphere, food good and didn't wait too long, we took friends and they enjoyed it.

Very good overall and the service from nearly everyone was great, apart from one lady who let the team down - a younger dark haired lady was very brusque and didn’t smile once, let alone have any conversation. She also pushed past us once and when I was on the way to the bathroom with my son, I stood aside to let her past and she didn’t even acknowledge us, certainly no thank you either. Came across as very rude. What a shame that’s what stuck in our head more than the rest of the evening. We’ll be back as it’s still very good, but Cibo should have a word with her about it really.

My husband and friend had halibut which was excellent, I had veal fungi which was very tough, the sides zucchini were over cooked as were the fries, also the sides were really small compared to Cibo in hale. Good night though but disappointed in food.

We got a last minute table here on New Year’s Eve and sat right by the door. Wasn’t a problem. Fantastic evening, amazing food, excellent service. Couldn’t fault it. The restaurant was rammed all night, and we were never short of a drink, the food was brought out quickly, and it was delicious. We had steaks, ribs, pasta, king prawns. All perfectly cooked. Great choice of wines too. Lots of different waiters and waitresses were very attentive. Great team effort. Also met Scott Mctominay, lovely fella who had a photo with my son! Some Love island chap was in there too, and some Leicester players. Will definitely go back. Not cheap but you get what you pay for, top quality atmosphere, food and service, so worth every penny. Well done Cibo, best restaurant in Wilmslow.

Good food and ambience, but portions left a lot to be desired. We ordered costine di maiale ribS for starters, and I emphasise the S in ribS as we received just one rib at a cost of £13.

I’m sure the food is lovely but I experienced such terrible service from the guy on the door that we ended up going elsewhere instead

Went for brunch, nice atmosphere not too busy and nice

Disappointing, we booked a table and stated that we had prams, we arrived there was no ramp and other guests helped us to get the prams inside, we were squeezed into a small space that wasn’t really practical. Ordered drinks 3 out of 4 were incorrect, food came quickly but 1 out of 4 were incorrect. The food is expensive for what it is. Overall not what I expected.

Whilst the food was really nice the hospitality was very poor. We were left waiting in between orders and meals for quite some time, had to ask for drinks and the bill a few times as it was so long. Waitress seemed to be in her own little world. No one asked about dietary requirements until I raised it and turns out they don't have a gluten free menu but do have pasta so that's all I had. Has potential but sadly I was a bit disappointed.

Beautiful restaurant let down by very poor service. One of our starters was stone cold and had to be sent back… no apology. A replacement came out with our main course which ofcourse we declined. There was simply no attention paid to our table all night. None asked if our food was ok and we had to refill our own wine glasses as no-one paid any attention to what was going on and the restaurant was relatively quiet when we got there. One other really annoying point for such a fancy restaurant was that nobody offered to hang our coats. Whilst the food was good the service is shocking.

Very good ambience and good food. Amazing bar with very elaborate bar menu. Try the cocktails. It was a bit loud but also due to the fact was very busy. Service is good but the fact it was super busy, would have been even better hence 4 stars. Will definitely go back

We were asked to vacate table after 53 minutes which made us feel very unwelcome and spoiled our birthday lunch !!! Really poor customer service as we booked in advance and had not even finished our drinks. I won’t be recommending to my friends. Patricia

Slightly disappointing. It was good but not exceptional. Table we were given unsuitable for 6. Chilli in pasta definitely not listed in menu.

£19 sea bass pasta dish was cooked well but comprised tiny portion of fish. Waiting staff were purely focused on turning the table around as quickly as possible, even attempting to take unfinished plates of food and glasses away.

Time and time again the red wine steak sauce is like water . Too thin . Dropped of the steak and splashed into my lap staining my clothes it is so watery thin .

I’ve been going to Cibo for more than five years since I’ve lived in Wilmslow, and while the food is very good, the overall level of quality has greatly deteriorated. They have invested an incredible amount of time and money in expanding the restaurant, but they’ve neglected a very important aspect: service. They are seriously understaffed, and the staff they have seem incredibly overwhelmed and stressed or just downright disinterested. We waited 20 minutes past our reservation to get our table, and then another 15 minutes before a server attended to our table. To be fair, there was one server who was responsible for at least 30 covers. This is poor management. Our “nibbles” and starters arrived simultaneously despite being ordered separately. After finishing our mains, we were completely ignored and not offered dessert/coffee/after dinner drinks. After another 15 minutes of no service, we requested the check, and Cibo lost out on increasing the tab for our table (lost revenue, smaller service charge). Seriously, Cibo, get your act together because right now, you’re all flash and lacking substance like so much happening in Wilmslow. Remember, flashes fade. The glitterati will only love you for so long

Cibo Restaurant left us disappointed as they forgot our orders, had a 30-minute delay in providing a high chair, and the overall food quality was just average. The experience was further marred by a lack of child-friendliness. Improvement in service is essential for a more satisfying dining experience.

Decided to give the 'new' Cibo another go. We had previously found the service to be poor but had hoped that having spent all that money and time on the refurbishment there would be a sense of a new start. But no, service was dreadful, indifferent. Frankly felt a bit of an inconvenience! To top that, food was average and expensive. Despite this being a local restaurant and wanting to support local business, we will certainly not be going back!

NEVER AGAIN WOULD WE GO TO THIS PLACE. Food was great - we all had garlic breads (tomato and chilli, cheese and plain )all very good, I then enjoyed the lobster ravioli which was coated in a lobster bisque making it very enjoyable indeed. Service was top notch and the ambiance was really god particularly for a Thursday evening.

We visited Cibo for a Sunday evening dinner, having come to Wilmslowe the evening before a business appointment the next morning. Despite having no reservation, we were warmly greeted and made to feel welcome straight away and invited to sit at a really nice corner spot by the main window. Service was lovely and friendly, the food was brilliant, authentic Italian dishes. I can highly recommend the spaghetti carbonara.

First time in Manchester, & First meal in Manchester, this place was very good place for wine & dine. Food & Service was amazing , the only downfall was the tiramisu was so big portion, but apart from that it's faultless.

I've never had a bad experience at Cibo in the past probably 10 years that I've been going. The staff are so incredibly welcoming and helpful, the portion sizes are great and so many options!

I booked the table for my dads birthday, I am always careful to flag my celiac allergy in advance and the staff gave me an allergy menu. There was no tick next to the ribs starter on the gluten column so I ordered them. The waitress who took me meal told me she had flagged the allergy and they were made and served by the kitchen. I was halfway through eating my meal when the manager came over and told me it had gluten in. He then proceeded to tell me that it was me who had read the menu wrong and that the tick for gluten was actually in the fish allergy column (which is not true as the details for pasta were correct) and that was a disclaimer on the front page of the menus that the ribs contained soy sauce (but it was not marked as containing a gluten allergy). Despite the fact I had to make myself sick at the restaurant to avoid being unwell and have been sick all night all that was removed from the bill was a £36 bottle of wine, so we paid £200 for a meal that was not fun or enjoyable due to this experience. Do not go here if you have an allergy, the allergy menu is incorrect and staff are not trained or knowledgeable on allergy’s.

Cibo has a great interior but thats about as far as the positives go, If you're coming here just for drinks then you'll enjoy it but if you really like your food you maybe disappointed, I have been 4/5 times with either work or friends and each time the food has been below par and everyone else with us agrees. Prices are only high as they know they can get away with it as the high price certainly doesn't purchase high quality food you would expect. If you are after a similar decorated place to this, there is one just 15mins down the road in Congleton (I wont mention the name), food is always delicious and with great portions. Hopefully Cibo change food suppliers but doubtful, it been like this for the last year or 2.

This is a great place for dinner and having a night out with family and friends. Great food and a selection of wines. Customer attention was excellent!

Pretty disappointed. The food was adequate, but no better than that. We left feeling disappointed. This place was recommended highly but the food was bland and the prices frankly ridiculous. Fillet steak was dry and poorly seasoned, the staff were generally unfriendly and uninterested in hearing our comments and when they automatically added a service charge we felt it was easier to pay it and just not come back than make a complaint and risk making a scene. The food was basic and overpriced. The service was frankly not worthy of any gratuity let alone the 12.5% they automatically added. I confess I prefer tipping for good service and I tip well, what annoys me is restaurants automatically adding a service charge, regardless of the service in the knowledge that most people (including myself) won't want to make a scene or embarrass anyone by asking for its removal. Message to the restaurant - IMPROVE YOUR SERVICE, LOWER YOUR PRICES AND INCREASE THE QUALITY OF YOUR COOKING. FAILING THAT, DONT AUTOMATICALLY ADD A SERVICE CHARGE BECAUSE LOOKING AT THE OTHER COMMENTS HERE, YOU DON'T DESERVE IT AND SEEM TO BE RIPPING YOUR CUSTOMERS OFF. There are far better choices in the same price bracket in Wilmslow so we'll be eating at better places in the future.

Terrible service. Table not ready, offered drinks then waited over 20mins and no one came to take food order. Alerted Maitre D but once mains were done, no one came to see if we wanted drinks or dessert. No one came to clear dessert for 20mins. Staff were not welcoming or attentive. Felt ignored all night. Asked for service charge to be removed from bill.

First I must comment on the service which was exceptional - efficient and professional but not intrusive. We had no difficulty in making our choices from the varied and interesting menu. We enjoyed everything we ate - delicious rib eye steak, halibut and a fillet steak salad were all excellent and portion sizes were generous. Given the quality of everything we ate, prices were fair. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Cibo.

Called in here for an early dinner with children and another family. We didn’t book but waiter on the door happily seated us and was accommodating. Other staff were rude and brusque, one even checked her watch and rolled her eyes as we decided on...

Food was excellent and good service provided. Menu is vast! Specials offering could be improved as it is very limited. Drinks and starters are expensive.

Over priced and portentous We took my wife's elderly parents for lunch, we just had main courses as they don't have large appetites. As with many people of there age they did not understand why the mains did not come with vegetables or chips so we ordered a couple of portions of chips at £5 for what amounted to about 20 chips per portion. The table next door had 3 mum's and there children, one of the children knocked there drink over as small children are want to do, his mum grabbed her napkin as we all would and went to clean the juice up. At this the waiter came rushing up looking like he was going to have an aplitic fit and stated that napkins were not for that purpose and produced a roll of blue roll to sort the problem. The general consensus of the party was that while the food was ok, we would be unlikely to return.

Couldn’t fault the food, I had the linguine with the sea food. It was amazing. But: the service wasn’t up to much and £6.50 for a lime and soda! You're having a laugh.

I had spaghetti carbonara that was almost inedible , the pancetta was in hard pieces and looked stale , my wife had Seabass that was only partially cooked , they replaced it but by then we had both lost our appetite , there are better...

Business celebration dinner at a familiar venue. Cibo Wilmslow didn't disappoint, the food is superior Italian trattoria fare, nothing fancy and with the usual Wilmslow mark-up in price,. But service professional and good, and wine list satisfactory. All fine
